Chapter 48: Trouble With The Aensland House

I munched on a giant chocolate chip cookie as I walked past the Superman. It was a nice and sunny Monday and the weather was 75 degrees. Morrigan walked alongside as she licked on a banana flavored lollipop. She's started wearing her hair blonde in public to stay low. She soaked up the sun with a white crop top and net stockings that went underneath her tight blue jean shorts. She wore white converses on her feet.

"This is by far the most lit thing we've done besides host that party" Amy stated.

"Hell yeah!" Julia replied.

"Thanks for taking us your Highness" said Rochella.

"No problem. I told you all we'd do something fun"

"Yeah, but Six Flags is top notch" Morrigan replied.

"I think I'm going to puke if I see another rollercoaster" Rochella said with her palm on her stomach.

"All these rides has gotten me hungry" Julia announced.

"Let's take a break. How about we go to that Portillo's?" I asked.

"Oooh they have chocolate cake" Morrigan said tossing aside her sucker.

We walked over to the line.

We all purchased our food and found a place to sit. Morrigan made herself comfy on my lap.

"What do you think Trints up to?" I asked Morrigan as I sipped on my lemonade.

"I can only assume something no good. How about you?"

"Same, I'm surprised Asha hasn't sent me any missions. The goons must be taking precaution"

"Perhaps, Bulleta or De-"

Just then, Morrigan began staring out into the abyss.

"Babe, you okay?" I asked uneasy.

"Father wants us...quickly" Morrigan said in a serious tone. "Rochella, you all as well"

"Er- sure my queen...may I ask what's the situation?" Rochella asked. Her and the knights looked confused.

Morrigan arose from my lap.

"The other Demon Houses apparently have something to get off of their minds" Morrigan sounded annoyed.

"Demon Houses?" I asked. I never remembered Morrigan telling me anything about more Demon Houses. Something about this gave me a weird feeling...

^V^

Morrigan and I walked into a large room. I'm sure the room was a lot bigger if every light was on. In front of us was a huge curtain at least forty feet high. Darkness lurked beyond that point. Behind us and on both sides of us were tall golden staircases with a platform at the top. As I gazed at the platforms, I seen about 6 demons looking down at us. .

'Their clothes...they must be of high rank'

Morrigan stopped and I stood beside her. Our four knights stood behind us. Before we entered, Morrigan had me wear an all black tailored suit. She wore her white long sleeve and red pants with white heels this time.

This must be one important meeting.

I looked over to Morrigan who had a serious expression as she eyed the demons before us. I focused on the darkness ahead of me. That darkness behind the curtains has to be Belial.

"How unexpected. A new prince who isn't Demitri. How has this manifested?", said a demon from the left. His apparel consisted of fine red fabric.

I looked at the creature with rage. I sensed from the energy that this was going to be about Morrigan and I.

"Demitri shall possess no place in the Aensland house" Morrigan said in quick response.

"But the man beside you who isn't of the Makai will. I wonder how he got here from the 'human world'"

Morrigan remained calm despite the demons shade.

"It is no concern of where he's from but what he will do for the Makai"

I recognized the voice as Lucien behind us.

"I believe both aspects are worth the concern", said a demon from the right. He wore an all black uniform and had a blue patch over his right eye. "He could lend our world to the humans and before we know it, infest our world with his kind"

"That's absurd!" I replied. "My business here is to rule as Morrigan intended. There's no need for my kind to infest the Makai as you say. It's best for us to just get along, nothing more and nothing less"

"Tell me, what good do you see yourself doing here?...I kindly ask", asked the demon to the left.

"I will bring balance into the Makai and between both realms. Neither realm should intervene violently with the other. I'll say this now, if my kind are harmed or myself, there will be consequences"

"Oh, fun fact. Lady Morrigan has a well known record for tampering with the human world. Am I wrong?" said the blue patched instigator.

"No, I have been rebellious. I've done wrong in the human world. All that is no more, I respect what Lovell loves and will protect his world as I do mine"

"You should know that interbreeding with Darkstalkers is looked down upon", said one of the demons to our right.

"First of all, I may breed with whoever I choose. This a new era, one that won't be ruled by petty disagreements at that" Morrigan declared.

"I still stand with Demitri, what could go wrong if he ruled?" said the demon representative to our left.

"Demitri is a threat to the humans", Lucien started. "Seeing that Lady Morrigan has already chosen her mate, he must obey her wishes"

"Thank you Lucien," Morrigan said. "To add to that, Demitri will do nothing but turn the humans into his vampiric army and slaves. And as he tried with my father, he still wishes to over throw my rule as well. His arrogance won't be tolerated"

"My daughter has spoken. What say you all?" Belial asked.

"I guess we have no choice but to respect her wishes. But if Demitri rises above our new prince here, I gladly approve it"

"That is highly doubted" Belial announced.

"These assholes must not like humans at all. They really want Demitri to rule no matter what they say" Rochella muttered.

"They probably seek to help him over throw the Aensland house. I get the feeling that these representatives of the other houses envy us" Amy said.

Morrigan stepped forward.

"We have an asset that's been deemed formidable. We have a chance at a satisfying battle. It's all I've ever asked of the world. Have I been wrong in assuming that a chance to do battle is all you've wished for as well?"

There was a loud silence.

"Since when has the demon world become so pathetic and weak?"

Morrigan shot a glare at the blue patched demon.

"Even Lovell himself has shown more courage. Anyone who can beat him please step forward and change my mind. Until then, as the Makai's queen, what I say, goes"

"Insolent! How dare you!" Yelled the two horned demon.

Just then, the knights leaped up onto the platforms with weapons aimed at the necks of the suspect demons.

"Am I being unreasonable?" Morrigan asked. She hung her head. "Please, just allow us to go"

"Well, we know it's useless to try and stop you. Go on" said one of the Aensland representatives above us.

"Now if you'll be so good as to excuse our actions until our mistress returns from the human world-" Julia stated.

"Remain where you are, we may be young but you know how reckless we young peeps can be"

Amy added.

"C'mon Jay, we're leaving" Morrigan said. She shifted into her succubus form.

"Say less" I activated my suit and we flew towards the exit.

^V^

"What pests, so envious and ignorant" Morrigan said in frustration.

"Meh, leave 'em be. We got bigger things to worry about" I said as we walked through the castle halls.

"You're right, they certainly got me tense"

"Hey, why's the candles out down here?" I asked. I noticed the hall to the right of us wall completely dark.

"Strange, no gust of wind could be responsible" Morrigan answered.

I turned on my beams and realized the floor looking glossy. I looked down to see a trail of foot prints. I squatted down and examined the issue.

"Where are they coming from?" I heard Morrigan ask.

I saw that the foot prints were coming from the hall close to Nina's tank. We followed the trail down the stairs. The footprints grew wetter and wetter.

Trailing the footsteps around the corner I looked ahead to see Nina's tank. Except it was broken.

"No..."

I stared at the broken glass. Cords from inside Nina's tank now lied on the ground like snakes. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

"Did someone break in here?" I asked.

"Couldn't have, no one has ever trespassed within these walls" Morrigan answered.

My mind scrambled. I lost Nina already, how could I lose Nina's corpse?

"So she came back to life?" I asked.

"Jay, focus. There must be a reason" Morrigan replied.

"I am, what the fuck could have happened?...C"mon, we have to see where those footsteps went off to"

We quickly trailed the steps back upstairs into the dark hall. Opposite of where we came, we found a hint.

I looked out the window where the steps had led to.

"She's long gone" I said.

Morrigan stood beside me looking into the sky. "I'll get together a search party"

^V^

"Hey, Boey, come check it out"

Two demons lurking in the mountains spotted a person walking about. "Ahh, we could bring her to Demitri, he'll reward us for bringing him yet another slave to be"

"Let's get to business" The demon said. They hurried their way down.

Now only a few yards away, they continued to prowl.

"This seems kinda strange, why is she just walking in the middle of nowhere?" Boey asked.

"Who cares? She's defenseless"

Seconds later, she stopped.

"I know you're there" the girl said.

The demons had a baffled expression. "Well, well, well. Be a nice young stupid gal and come wit us will you?"

The girl stared at Boey.

"No reaction huh? I don't like your attitude!"

The demons leaped at the girl.

The demons threw punches and kicks to no avail.

"You're quite the agile one aren't ya?" Boey asked frustrated. He pulled out a knife and launched at her. She caught it and pulled him towards her. She spun him around and snapped his neck. His body hit the hard ground.

"BOEY!" the demon said in shock. He looked at the girl with vengeance in his eyes.

"You'll die for that!" He ran towards her and attacked. He sent a quick left jab and a leg kick. She countered his kick and broke his leg.

"Auuuggh! Fuck!" The demon hit the ground screaming in pain. He looked up at the girl. "Damn you!"

The girl began walking towards him. Full of fear, the demon started scooting back frantically.

The girls steps grew faster. She stepped on his broken leg, pinning him.

"Ahhh! Please! I'll give you anything you want, I have- Gugh!"

His begging was cut short as she slit his throat. She licked the blood clean off the knife. Blood stained her biosuit.

"Your powers were so weak, yet Delicious"
