Chapter 49: Darkness Rises
"I need more power..." said undead Nina aloud. She looked out onto the canvas of the Makai. Her black hair swayed about through the gusty winds. "How could I get to Earth?"

"Still no trace?" I asked Morrigan.
"No, unfortunately. If it was her soul I could easily find her myself. It seems her body is possessed"
Morrigans' statement made me uncertain.
Could she really be possessed?
I snapped out of my thoughts. I pulled out my phone and went to contacts.
"Hey, we got a new problem. Nina's alive or perhaps possessed..." I looked at Morrigan who was listening. "If you notice anything out the ordinary let me know right away okay?"
"I can do that for you. No problem" Asha replied.
"Thanks, bye"
"Bye"

"Hey, Boey and Kram are off the radar" Trint stated.
"What? I knew those goof-balls were up to something. Where were they last?!" Bulleta asked frustrated.
"The mountains near the Aensland House"
"That's two new skulls to my collection. They'll learn not to fail me" Bulleta said with a grin.
Trint squinted his eyes at the twisted blonde.
"What are you waiting for? Lets go get these idiots" Bulleta said as she locked a clip into her uzi.

"Ah, I wonder what horrific heathens lie in here" Nina said as she spotted a cave close by.
"Sparky are you in here?" Nina asked as she entered the caves darkness.
"Eh? Who the hell's that?" A voice sounded.
Nina stood still at the entrance.
"Here Sparky!" She said louder.
Shortly, three pairs of red eyes crept closer into her view. Ninas lips formed a sinister smirk.
"Looking for something darlin'?" A ghoul asked as he crept closer towards the undead woman.
"Yes, and I think I've found it" Nina declared.
"Huh?" The ghoul replied confused.
"Hahahaa!" Nina gave an evil laugh as she dashed towards the ghouls.
"Aagh!...Guk!...Nnmph!"
In seconds, three corpses covered the ground with blood.
"Mmmm...MORE!" Nina yelled. Her voice echoed through the cave walls.
After viciously finishing her victims, Nina stepped out of the cave. "The power, I can feel it pulsing within me, but this isn't enough" she said as she looked down at her blood covered hands.
"Hey you!"
Nina instantly turned around. She licked the blood off of her index finger ready for another showdown.
"You killed my henchmen you bitch?!" Bulleta screamed.
"Sorry, they shouldn't have crossed my path"
"You shouldn't have crossed mine!" Bulleta then reached in her basket and gripped her micro uzi.
Trint yielded Bulleta.
"Wait! That's one of Sufuge's knights. She doesn't seem like herself" Trint said looking at the girls pale skin.
"Where's Sufuge?" Trint asked.
"Looking for me, or could be looking for you two, you tell me. I can't wait to feast on his power next"
Trint and Bulleta exchanged glances. Bulleta loosened her grip.
"You can feast on plenty more where we'll be going" Bulleta said with a grin.
"And that is?" Nina asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Earth" Trint answered.
Ninas smile then grew from ear to ear. "You don't say?"

"Come on, let's get back to my side"
"Nina is here though, Jay" Morrigan replied.
"Yeah, you may be right. But Trint and Bonnie Hood aren't. They're two people that I don't want to find Nina. I don't need her to die twice"
"Gosh, your brains are as good as your sex game" Morrigan said biting her lip.
I smirked.
"Thanks bae, can we go now?"
"With haste" Morrigan retorted. She opened the portal and we stepped in.

"The villains lair" Nina mumbled under her breath. She observed her newly acquired allies hideout.
"Don't get comfortable, we're leaving in a bit" Bulleta said to Nina.
"What do we call you?" Pitch asked.
Nina turned to Trint and smiled. "Call me...Majetek Nina"
"If taking down Sufuge is what you're pursuing Nina, you will need a tool" Pitch inquired.
"You can use one of these" Bulleta pulled out a mk14 from within her basket.
"No thanks, I'd prefer a sword" Nina replied, turning down the offer.
"I thought you'd say so" Bulleta said. "To the Louvre Museum it is then"

Morrigan and I sat atop of the O's of the Hollywood sign looking down at the city. The sun was now departing. I looked at my phone; 8:12pm
"It's been too long, they must be up to something"
"Agreed. But up to what?" Morrigan asked as she stared at the violet sky.
"Asha c'mon, give me something" I mumbled under my breath.
'Beep~Beep'
I looked at my wristband.
"Speak of the devil. Hey"
"Hey, you need to get to the Louvre Museum as soon as possible"
"Yeah? Doesn't sound like that's close by" I replied. I jumped off the o and transformed into my suit before landing on the gravel below.
"Yeaaaa, it's in Paris. After hacking Trints suit, I finally found out what they're after"
"And that is?" I asked. Morrigan stood behind me with her arms wrapped around me.
"A tool to kill you if there's any such thing"
"Sayless. I'm on it, thanks Asha"
"Anytime, keep me posted"
"Will do, bye"
"Bye"
"Alright", I turned to my girlfriend. "You ready?"
"When am I not?" Morrigan replied.
I smiled. "Let's go"

"How much longer?" Bulleta asked as she watched Trint hack the museum security.
"Done" Trint replied.
"Access granted"
"Ahh, you make a nice handy man Pitch" Nina stated.
"Hé arrête!"
Nina turned around and walked towards the injured guard on the ground. She squatted in front of him.
"Pitch, what did he say?"
"To stop" he replied.
Nina placed a finger under the mans chin, lifting his face.
"Such a waste of life. Stop this-" in an instant, Nina snapped the guards neck.
"Now where were we?"
"This way" Pitch stated. The girls followed as they closed in on their prize.
Bonnie let a shot from her uzi into the glass encasing Nina's gift. The alarm immediately sounded afterwards.
"There it is. Go ahead Majetek, it's all yours" Bonnie Hood announced.
Nina stepped towards the carefully crafted sword before her.
"Joyeuse" she mumbled.
"Sorry not sorry but I'm going to have to ask you to step away from the artifact!" I said over the alarm as I hovered beside Morrigan.
"Oh goody! Look who chose to show up!" Bonnie Hood stated aloud. "Morrigans' here as well? That's double the pay!" Bonnie said joyfully. She immediately pulled out an ak47 and shot at Morrigan. Morrigan dispersed into bats and flew towards the psychopath.
I glared at Bonnie Hood and looked at the japanese girl who died in my arms. There she was standing and breathing. She looked me dead into my eyes except for her glare wasnt her own.
"Nina..."
Majetek chuckled sinisterly. "Sorry, she's not home" She grabbed the sword and caressed its blade.
"I know she isn't, and you don't belong in hers" I replied.
Suddenly, there came a rumbling from the far hall to our left. Lights danced across the walls.
The police.
"I'll take care of our guests, see ya soon Sufuge" Nina then dashed down the hall towards the chaos.
"Hey!" I blasted off after her until instantly, out the corner of my eye, a figure came crashing into me.
"Gugh!"
I landed on the ground, sliding into the wall.
I opened my eyes. Trint stood in front of me gripping his wrist. The dark morphonite ran deep across his body.
"Reunited once more" Trint stated.
I stood to my feet. "Once and for all"
I blasted off towards my rival, kneeing him in his gut. We hit the ground and I picked him up.
"Let's settle-" I punched Trint in his jaw. "This!"
He went flying and crashed into a statue, turning the priceless piece into smithereens.
"You don't deserve to live!" Trint yelled. He got up and sped towards me.
I remained where I was. He closed in and I grabbed him by the neck. His hands clung to mine.
"This isnt you Trint! I DON'T want to hurt you!"
Trint bolted into the air and we hit the ceiling, breaking my grasp. The ceiling began to crumble above us, we noticed the impact and quickly parted ways.
We met again in another section of the museum with anger behind each other's eyes.
"You give me no other choice Trint"
"I am eternal!" Trint yelled.
"No, I am"
Trint snickered before diving towards me.
I awaited his impact until he vanished.
"Huragghh!"
I turned around to see him sprinting ahead with a stone pillar. My first thought was to dodge it but that was interrupted when I felt a sublte blow to my back. I turned around to see Majetek Nina smiling at me.
"I'm back"
I turned back around to see the pillar slam into my chest.
"Hughk!"
I tumbled along the granite floor colliding into the museums artifacts. I groaned as I began to rise. Before I could react, someone kicked me in the ribs, sending me tumbling over. I opened my eyes to see Trint walking in front of me. Instantly he dashed, kneeing me in the head. I slid along the floor with Trint above me clenching my neck. I tried to get up but he sent both fist pounding into my gut. Nina ran alongside him and sent a foot towards my ribs. I deflected it and she fell beside me. Trint ascended his foot above my head descending it hastily. I dodged to the left and took my chance to get away. Trint easily grabbed my leg and lifted me over his head sending me smacking face first into the floor. I turned and raised a hand to deliver a beam until Nina knocked it off target. The beam hit the chandelier above us and glass flew everywhere. The two villains quickly ran off leaving me to be impaled. I immediately teleported to avoid the worst. Just as soon as I appeared out of harms way, Nina ran and slid into my ankle, knocking me down. I looked up to see Trint midair, coming down with his fist extended above me. My agility kicked in and I dodged the would be crushing blow. Preventing my escape, Nina pounced and kneeled down on my left arm and grabbed my neck with one hand and wielded her sword in the other. Trint grabbed my right arm and I watched as his free hand morphed into a blade.
'No! No! Not like this!'
I could feel the anger boil inside me as I watched them prepare to strike.
"Grrrr-AAAHHH!""
I turned myself into blue fire, igniting them in flames before they could smite me.
I turned back. I quickly grabbed Nina, taking her into the air. Trint jumped after us and clung to my foot. We all came down smashing into more ancient items before we hit the floor.
The floor rumbled as more police officers stormed in armed with assault rifles.
I groaned as throbbing pain surged through my chest. I looked at the cops as they wandered among the destroyed museum.
Nina saw them and I watched a twisted smile form on her face.
Just as I bolted towards her, Trint grabbed me and spun me, releasing me hurdling into the ceiling.
Nina dashed through the crowd of officers. Slicing and dicing each one she made contact with. They let off their guns but to no avail as Nina spun the sword deflecting their attacks.
I regained my posture midair before gravity pulled me back down.
I grew fed up and sonic boomed into Pitch. He went flying through the museum walls. At least three as I watched. I focused back on Nina who was preparing to kill the last officer in his group.
"Your death will be painless" she said as she readied the sword.
The officer shut his eyes hopelessly as Nina took action.
I quickly used my light speed to catch the blade as she swung at the the mans head.
*CLAP*
The officer opened his eyes in awe as he seen me appear in front of the undead girl. She was surprised to see me in place of the officer herself. With the blade in between my hands, I pulled her in and punched her right in the face. She hit the ground.
I stood over her.
She kneeled on all fours and wiped blood from her mouth. She looked up at me.
"No matter how many of us you stop, us Darkstalkers will execute your race until we rule both realms" Nina said.
"Sufuge!" Pitch yelled.
I looked to my right to see a huge monument hurdling inches away from me. I dispersed into flames once more to evade the attack.
Pitch looked over at a fatigued Nina. He walked over to aide her.
I quickly turned back and flew into Pitch. I heated myself up as we flew through the hall. We crashed through the building and landed on the cement ground outside. Trint lied still on the ground, smoke emitted from his chest. I stood up and grabbed his energy core. He must've felt my grasp because next thing I knew he was looking at me wide eyed before clutching my wrist. I squeezed the core as my hand melted it. He tried removing my hand but remained helpless. I finally broke the core free and tossed it. The glow in Trints eyes faded along with the angered expression on his face.
"Thanks, now...I can...rest"
He smiled a bit as blood trailed outside the corner of his mouth.
His breathing slowly diminished. I stared down at my rival. It was really over.
"I wish you would've been a force for good...we'd have been unstoppable"
"Soul-Fist!"
I looked behind me as I heard Morrigan still fighting that son of a bitch Bonnie. I saw the muzzle flashes at the buildings roof.
I teleported.
"You don't tire easily do you little girl?" Morrigan asked as she gracefully dodged Bulleta's assaults.
"Not At Aughk!"
I karate chopped the girls throat before she could say another word. She fell to the ground with her machine gun. After breaking the gun, I grabbed her picnic basket and burnt it to flames.
"Ah, my knight in shining armor has rescued me, how shall I ever repay you?" Morrigan said with a smile as she descended next to me.
"Let's talk about that later. Where's Nina?"
"Don't know, I thought she was with you"
I flew back into the museum, I scanned the perimeter but no Nina.
"Shit, she got away" I muttered.
"What's that?" Morrigan asked.
"What's what?" I asked. I listened quietly as a low rumbling sound filled the sky.
"Shit, reinforcement. We're leaving"
A bright light shined through the windows and walls of the museum. Helicopters surrounded the building.
"Open a portal. I'll be right back!" I told Morrigan.
I teleported to Trints body and lifted him over me. I entered the museum and saw soldiers sliding down a rope preparing to enter, one saw me. I sprinted away as he lifted his weapon.
Just as I was about to enter the portal, I saw a female figure in my peripheral.
Nina stood watching from down the hall. Her eyes glowing red with the sword shining at her side.
"Jay c'mon!" Morrigan yelled from the other side.
I turned to Morrigan and back towards the hall. Nina had vanished.
'Next time'
I carried Trint through the portal as it closed behind us.
