Six Months Later-The Mountain

The double swords felt heavy, heavier than they have ever felt. So many memories flash in my mind as I grip the handle of my weapons. Laughing at the dinner table with Lexa and our Mothers, running in the forest about the puke from all the apples we ate, running for my life from a mutated Lion and Lexa screaming my name. I am so close to getting what I have always wanted. A life with Lexa after so long, of so many things getting in my way. So much death, so much war, so many responsibilities because Lexa is Commander. I know that time is close at hand. When we can finish, just surviving.

The stomping and roaring of an army have always been deafening.

The fire in my veins make me grip my hilts harder. When will the enemies' end?

When will we be free?

I look to Lexa who stands near the front of the army.

"THE MOUNTAIN WILL FALL TONIGHT!" She roared.

The answering call was even louder to their Heda's call.

"Clarke?"

I turn to see Wells.

"We are ready."

I nod.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

I shake my head. "I've spent the last ten years fighting Well's. There always seems to be another enemy when I am done."

He stood silently. "What are you looking for Clarke?"

I looked into his eyes and I saw the boy I used to know. "Peace Wells. Living and not just surviving."

"Do you think that will come?" He asked.

"If there is a will there is a way. Just like how I know that the people I separated you completely from and left behind on the Ark won't just lay down and suffocate."

His eyes widened. "They're alive?" He looked astonished.

I put my hand on his shoulder. "They seemed to have hit atmosphere from what my spies tell me. We should have the rest of them in custody soon. I'm hoping that not much blood is spilt."

His eyes brightened. "Do you think my dad is with them?" He asked. My eyes darkened.

"For him I hope that isn't true. He still has to answer for his crimes Wells." I turned away before I could see the look on his face. It was bad enough that we continue to crush each threat from the moment it appears in front of us except these kids. I clenched my jaw.

I walked towards our destination. We arrive at the tunnel where Octavia is waiting for us.

"Your brother?" I ask.

"He is waiting for the signal."

I nod. "Good."

"What are we looking for?"

"A way to win. I have been on the ground for ten years. All this technology is a first for me in a long time. I'm betting all my chips on what Monty and Raven can do." Octavia pressed her lips together.

"If you have something to say. Say it." I spoke.

"Why didn't you just kill us right away when you found us when all you've done is crush all of Lexa's enemies Clarke?"

We stared at the door waiting for it to open. Hoping that Bellamy was the person on the other side.

"It wasn't just Lexa's enemies Octavia. They were mine too. You all were not our enemy. Indra gave me a title when I became a warrior. She told me that I came from the sky so I should be the first of my people. The Skaikru. Their Prisa. You all are my people but not only that. You are to be blended into the Trikru. I want to be Lexa's people." I said softly.

"I can tell the way that you are around each other Clarke."

"I hope that we all make it out of this and can be free of conflict."

She nodded. "I want to be a warrior." I looked to her.

"If we make it through this, I'll teach you myself." I spoke.

She smirked.

"Bellamy said there aren't camera's until we are almost on the door to the control room." Octavia finished.

I pressed the button on the walkie talkies Raven had made for us before she got taken.

"Lexa."

There was static and then roaring on the other end. "I'm here Clarke."

"We are ready here. At your command."

"Go." She spoke.

Then the gunfire begun.

Bellamy opened the entrance hatch along with Monty and Jasper. They nodded looking grim.

"Where are they holding Raven?" I asked Bellamy. "Test rooms they're taking bone marrow." He spoke. He was sweating and white as a sheet.

"We need to hurry. Any plan on how we are going to negotiate with Mount Weather on letting us go?" I asked Monty and Jasper. Monty jumped in as we were running. "I think I can hack in at the control room to reroute their air flow. They are all on level 5 where the containment rooms are. We might have some leverage if we bring President Wallace with us." He spoke. I nodded.

"Bellamy, Jasper, bring President Wallace to the control room. Monty and I will head there now."

The gunfire was not stopping.

I just hope we are not too late.

20 Minutes Later

We watched as Caine continued to extract bone marrow.

"Clarke." Bellamy said.

My throwing knife was sticking out of President Wallace who was now dead in his chair after Caine refused to negotiate.

"How much longer till you crack the code, Monty." I asked.

He did not respond, continuing to rapidly type away.

I held the radio in my hand looking at it. Is this really what has to be done every time? I asked myself. Killing and more Killing to preserve our land that we have evolved and fought tooth and nail for.

I hit the button. "Lexa." I said.

There was screaming in the background before it became muffled. "I'm here Clarke."

"Make the deal." There was silence. "I understand." She spoke. The gunfire stopped and we watched on screen as thousands of grounders walked out of the front door.

"Clarke." Bellamy said.

I put up my hand.

There was banging on the control room door.

"We're on our own from here on. Lexa is retreating as requested by Mount Weather. They only want the Skaikru now."

Octavia grabbed me by the collar and squeezed. "HOW COULD YOU!"

I smiled. She lost her grip stunned by the look on my face.

"Monty?" I asked.

"It's ready Clarke."

I nodded and pulled the lever. We watched as the radiation ate away at the last remaining of Mount Weather.

"They couldn't live without killing my people. There was no end game for them, and Caine knew it. Such a waste." I said as I let go of the lever. "Let's go rescue our people."

We walked out of the control room. I heard running down the hall and multiple Trikru came in with stretchers. My mother leading them. She walked up and hugged me. I hugged her back as hard as I could.

"Another loss." She said. I nodded. "When is this going to end?" I ask her.

She shakes her head. "I heard that multiple stations have crash landed. Have you started rounding up the rest of the Ark?" She asked. I nodded. "I'm wondering if Jackson is still alive." I laughed. "I hope so."

Monty came out of the control room.

"Monty. Did you get a chance to look through all of their systems?"

"Not everything."

"I want to set up an intelligence team. I need to know everything that they knew and more. I do not want any more surprises. It is bad enough it took us this long to deal with the Mountain. We were at war with the Ice Queen for far too long. Now that we can have long distance radio contact, I leave the Bunker to the Skaikru. We will set up camp around this area."

"Wait. Can you do that?" Octavia asked.

"Already did." I spoke.

I threw Monty my radio. "Contact me if you find anything. I will be updating Lexa."

They all looked dumbfounded as clean up began. This really was not my first war.

When I made it back outside, I let out a heavy sigh.

"Already disliking leading your people?"

I smiled and looked to see Lexa waiting for me on her horse. I walked over.

"I've set up an intelligence team. What Mount Weather knew we will soon know. The sky people will set up camp here and look into it." Lexa nodded as she held out a hand.

"We have unfinished business Clarke." She looked at me with dark lidded eyes and smiled mischievously.

I shivered. I couldn't wait. I smiled as I was pulled up into the saddle in front of her. she wrapped her arms around me.

"To the capital?" She asked. I leaned back into her.

"Yes. I think it is time we go back. There's much to be done."

She hummed. We continued horseback until it was close to dark.

We set up camp and I went to go build my own tent next to Lexa's. Lexa grabbed my hand and shook her head.

"Stay with me." She spoke. My heart went into overdrive.

I blushed and grinned. "Always."

We didn't make it halfway into the tent before her lips were on mine. Hand in my hair as she ran her other up my back into my shirt. We ran into the table and knocked over a bowl of fruit. I let out a gasp before pulling away. She unstrapped my sword which hit the ground. She pulled hers of her back as well. "I think weapons are unnecessary for this kind of activity Clarke." I shivered and looked towards the bathtub full of water and soap. Lexa took my hand smirking. Leading me to the other side and continued to undress me, and I her.

"You know. You being Heda has its perks."

She chuckled. "How so."

"You have a bunch of bodyguards and people willing to build your tent and draw you a bath." I said.

"Well, I do rule an entire coalition."

I laughed. "True."

We both finished undressing. We didn't look in each others direction as if it was an unspoken rule.

When we slipped into the water and helped unbraid each others hair that's when I finally made eye contact with Lexa.

She was so beautiful. She smiled at me the way she used to. "Should I wash your back Clarke?" she teased laughing.

I smiled as I flushed my heart clenched in affection.

"I love you." I blurted. My ears were burning but I didn't back down. My heart was beating out of my chest. "I'm finally able to tell you." I finished.

She blushed such a beautiful red as her eyes sparkled and she laughed. She moved towards me. Wrapping her arms around my shoulders. We didn't look away. Her nose brushed mine and the smile that over took me matched hers.

"Ai hod yu in." She replied back. "I've always." She continued. I didn't let her finish as I wrapped my arms around her. I kissed her softly. They continued until we were out of breath.

I pulled back first, dazed and she couldn't have looked happier. "Let's finish washing up." She said.

I nodded. "No one to interrupt us this time?" I asked.

She let out a very unladylike snort which turned until a whole bout of laughter from both of us.

I honestly don't think I could have loved her more than I do at this moment.

I lied.

We didn't bother getting dressed as we both got into bed after drying off. Lexa wrapped her arms around me. I don't think I have ever felt so relaxed and content as I was at that moment. It was like we were in our own little bubble.

"I would very much like to kiss you Clarke." Lexa whispered into my ear. I shivered from the heat of her breath. I turned my body to face her. She shifted her leg in between mine as our noses brushed. "You don't have to ask." I said. her hand shifted and she ran her nails against my hip. Gripping my neck with her other hand. This kiss wasn't like the others. It was full of lust and heat as she bit my lip. I groaned, closing my eyes as she licked my lip where she had bit me before entering my mouth. Her nipples brushed my own and it was a sensation I had never felt before. It sent heat pooling below as she gripped my ass and pulled me onto her thigh a bit more. She began rocking into me and I gasped. Gripping her shoulders as she turned me onto my back.

I opened my eyes. Breathing heavy she had pulled away to lick and bite the junction of my neck. Her hand was massaging my side and stomach as the other was still gripping my hair and massaging my neck. Her hand was moving to the underside of my breast. My breath quickened as her thumb brushed just below my hardened nipple.

"Lexa." I said huskily.

"What do you need Clarke? Tell me." She demanded. Her voice deepened.

I shivered as she finally brushed my nipple. She took the other into her mouth and I buried my fingers into her hair. I entangled my legs with hers as I continued to tremble. It felt so good. I could feel my cheeks burning as she let go and I ran my fingers over her shoulders and arms. This was surreal. Ruthless at heart and yet putty in her hands. My lip trembled. Her green eyes found my blue and her eyes softened.

"Hey. It's alright."

I nodded. She moved up to kiss my lips softly. "We can take it slow." She said against my lips.

I smiled sheepishly against hers before wrapping my arms around her neck and ran my tongue against her lip. She opened her mouth for me.

We have all the time in the world after all.
