"Good evening Severus, come in…drink" Lucious offered the Potion Master as they sat in his living room
"Good evening, may I ask why the invitation late this evening" Severus asked.
"I received some interesting information, from the hall of records today, Minerva was seen looking at a certain 10 year olds file." Lucious said sipping his tea
"Minerva is in charge of all incoming students, Im sure she was looking to check that letters went to the correct homes" Severus said not sure where this was going
"That may be true but she was particularly interested in Miss Danielle Evans, strange how the child shares the mothers name and not the fathers." Lucious said holding the certificate.
"Lily Evans was an independent woman, she didn't change her name when she married Potter, I'm sure she had her reasons" Severus said pain filling his heart of the loss of the only person he ever loved.
"Well you did know her best, or maybe its the fact the James Potter was not the father of her child.". Lucious admitted removing the charm off the certificate and revealing that Severus Snape was indeed the father of Danielle Evans.
Severus Snape gripped the paper apparated as quickly as he could do Hogwarts and stormed into Minerva's office. There was no sign of a woman but on the desk sat a tabby cat.
"Mother can you be human for one bloody minute. Severus said bitterly his heart and mind racing."
"Kitten you may be 31 years old, but certainly not old enough to have soap in your mouth, whats with that tone and language." Minerva said calmly but with authority
"What have you and Albus done." Severus threw the certificate on the desk
"Severus…I…We." Minerva said nervously as this was not how she wanted her "son" to find out
"Minerva we were going to tell him when she arrived, it seems now is a better time" Albus said walking into the room.
"Tell Me What" Severus said quietly his eyes closed hands white from gripping the desk
"After the prophecy was revealed, we took Danielle and Lily into hiding, we tried everything to keep you with them but the danger was too close, so we sent them with James and modified your memory. The certificate is real, you are Danielle's father, Lily was your wife." Albus explained Minerva watching the boy she raised into a man crumble into a seat.
"Kitten you have to understand, it was the only way, and with you being a spy for us we couldn't give them back."
"I Want Them Back, I want to remember my wife, and know that she loved and forgave me, I want the memories of my daughters first year of life, I Lost 10 Years with her" Severus demanded standing roughly from the chair as it fell behind him.
"Memory transfer is an emotional, and physical drain we will do this but then it is straight to bed." Minerva said in her mothering demand
Severus and Albus went to the headmasters office to retrieve the memories, and then to the dungeons where Minerva was waiting.
"I'm bringing her home tomorrow, I'm not wasting another moment without her." Severus said to his mother and rolled his eyes when she pulled back the covers.
"Of course dear" Minerva kissed his head leaving Albus to do the memory return

"How do you feel" Albus asked the next morning from the armchair he had spent the night in
"I always knew I'd lost her, but I know now that we had a life together, a short one, but I got to marry her, have a beautiful little girl with her. She's with Lilys sister, why, that woman hated magic" Severus said remembering his sister in law, and how cruel she was to Lily
"We needed a blood relative to keep her safe" Albus said
"Then why not Remus he's her Godfather, and Lily and him had a blood bond, he would have protected her just the same" Severus asked changing into his robes
"We didn't know what had happened or if he was truly gone, we needed her away from this world, and a werwolf raising a child on his own would have caused endangerment speculation from the ministry" Albus explained
"Albus they've come back again undelivered" Minerva said flooing into the dungeon holding multiple envelopes. Severus snatched them reading each one, his heart racing and blood boiling"

"Are these bloody muggles making my child sleep in a cupboard. Why isn't she receiving them, how long have these been coming back" Severus snapped angrily.
"Calm down my boy, they could be simply on holiday, or it could be a converted space that they turned into a bedroom." Albus said calmly
"You know damn well that these letters are charmed to find the student wherever they are, and if that were true it would say Bedroom under the stairs. Severus said "Now without wasting anymore bloody time I'am finding my daughter and bringing her home" Severus cast an invisibility spell over himself and apparated to 4 Privet Drive.
