"How were things when you got home?" Chloe asked as she and Beca walked to class.

Beca gave a small shrug. "I think things will improve with time… We came to a sort of understanding and I'm definitely gonna try harder.."

Chloe smiled. "Well I'm proud of you."

"Thanks babe. You have any plans after school?"

Chloe shook her head. "Nope."

"Can we do something?"

Chloe smiled. "I'm all yours."

Beca smirked. "Ooh I like the sound of that.."

"Me too, I've been missing you and your… talents." Chloe said with a wink.

Beca laughed. "I've been missing you too."

Chloe pouted. "But we can't… We have nowhere to be alone and do it anymore.."

Beca shrugged. "I can change that, we're gonna have some alone time today.. I'll book a room and we'll make a night of it."

"That sounds nice but it's a school night and my parents won't go for that and neither will your uncle…"

Beca sighed. "We'll figure something out."

Beca let out a sigh of relief as the final bell rang. She walked out of the classroom and saw Chloe she ran to her with a grin. "Hey gorgeous."

Chloe smiled and kissed her. "Hey yourself."

"Today felt like the longest." Beca said as they walked out of the building.

Chloe nodded. "I thought it was just me."

They reached the car and Beca opened the door for Chloe. "Now it's you and me time." Beca got in the car and started it.

"Actually it's the three of us time." A voice said from the backseat. He pulled out a gun and aimed it at them. "Drive."

Beca pulled into an empty alleyway and turned around. "Dude what the hell?"

"Nice seeing you again Beca… And redhead."

Beca sighed. "PJ… PJ what's going on? Why are you doing this?"

PJ sighed. "You're a really bad friend you know? We took your pal Bumper weeks ago and you have yet to call and check on him.."

Beca frowned. "What? His debt was paid he told me he was wrapping things up with you guys and that was it.."

PJ grinned. "He thought that was it but it wasn't… We took him that day and hoped you would try to find him…"

Chloe grabbed Beca's hand. "Babe that was when we went to the store and you talked to Ed the owner that was nearly a month ago…"

PJ nodded. "It's been almost a month and you haven't even thought to send your pal a text…"

"What the fuck do you want from me?"

PJ smiled. "I liked our interaction that day Beca.. I want to work with you."

Beca scoffed. "No! I told you I was over that life."

"THEN BUMPER PAYS THE PRICE!" PJ yelled angrily. "Bumper and maybe even your pretty little girlfriend.."

Beca's eyes widened. "Dude this isn't fair! That's not how this works… I have never been in cahoots with you or any of your people so you can't pull me in like this… When I got out of my thing I paid the price but I got out and that was that.. I'm fucking done!"

PJ laughed. "I'm above anyone you worked for when you were younger Beca, I make the rules and if I want to pull you back in I'm gonna fucking pull you back in.."

Beca sighed. "I-" She let out a breath realizing she had no choice. "Can we leave Chloe out of it? Please.. I join you without a fight and she won't say anything to anyone just let her go."

Chloe's eyes widened. "Be-"

"Chloe please be quiet I'm trying to save your life." Beca knew PJ was sure to kill Chloe after they were done talking.

PJ grinned. "You know that's not how this works…"

"Please.. I love her… I will work for you and do as you ask with no problem as long as you don't hurt her…"

PJ sighed. "I've got a soft spot for you B… She can go but if I find out she's blabbing…" He aimed the gun at Chloe's head. "You know.." He said with a sick grin. "I'll call you later with instructions." He said before getting out of the car and disappearing.

"Fffuuuck!" Beca yelled as she slammed angrily on the steering wheel.

"Bec.."

Beca sighed and quickly backed out of the alleyway. "I gotta get you outta here."

"Beca what just happened?"

Beca gripped the wheel tightly and clenched her jaw. "You just saw an asshole force me back into the game.."

"W-We can go to the police."

Beca quickly pulled over and gestured for Chloe to follow her out if the car. "He might have bugged my car, listen Chloe what's happening right now is very dangerous and you can't talk about cops, and you can't tell anyone… chances are we'll both be followed and they'll wait for a slip up just so they can kill you and that can't happen. I need you to pretend like this never happened okay?"

Chloe sighed. "But Be-"

"It never happened Chloe!"

Chloe nodded. "So what happens now?"

Beca shrugged. "I guess we can go to my place and hang in my room…"

Chloe folded her arms. "I meant with PJ.."

Beca rolled her eyes. "What the fuck did we just agree on? It never happened Chloe, PJ who."

Chloe sighed as she sat next to Beca watching TV. "Beca I know you don't want to talk about it but I'm scared…"

Beca let out a small sigh and turned to Chloe with sad eyes. "This is the last thing I wanted to happen Chloe and I'm sorry he got to me while you were with me… I wish there was something I could say or do to ease your mind but honestly the balls in his court. I just need you to not say anything to anyone, I know he'll be watching us."

Chloe nodded. "I don't want you out there Beca."

Beca sighed. "I don't want to be out there, but I have to in order to keep Riley, you, and your family safe." Beca's phone started ringing and she sighed seeing it was an unknown number. "Pj…" She said with a sigh as she answered it.

"Good evening Beca! Your services are needed! I've got a shipment I need you to pick up and deliver tonight."

Beca sighed. "I kinda have a curfew…"

"Sneak out, make it work. I'll text you the details." He said before hanging up.

Beca groaned and fell into her bed. "Fuck my life…"

"Babe what happened?"

Beca shook her head. "It's nothing, I just need to do something tonight… Come on I'll take you home."

Chloe grabbed Beca's arm. "Beca what is he making you do?"

Beca sighed. "It's better that you don't know everything Chloe… Come on." Beca said as she walked out of her room.

Chloe followed her with a small sigh.

"Hey unc, I know this is short notice but I was really hoping you'd let me stay at Chloe's tonight… Her mom loves having me over for dinner and it's been awhile and I've been missing my girlfriend.."

Michael quirked a brow and looked at them. "It's a school night…"

"The Beales' are all about education they won't let us miss it, they're both teachers themselves.. Chloe wouldn't even let us miss school right babe."

Chloe nodded and gave him a tight lipped smile. "Right."

Michael looked at Chloe. "You okay?"

Chloe grabbed Beca's hand and nodded. "It's a private thing between us we're going through."

Michael nodded and cleared his throat. "Um yeah okay… I'll be lenient and allow it. But please make it to school on time and call your sister before bed."

Beca smiled and nodded. "I will, thank you so much!" She hugged him and kissed Riley on the forehead before leaving the house with Chloe.

"I didn't know you could lie so well." Chloe said as she got in the car.

Beca shrugged. "I wasn't really lying… I just left out a few details. Your mom does love having me over and I have been missing you." Beca said as she leaned over and kissed Chloe. "Everything will be fine Chlo, I'll drop you off do what I gotta do and I'll be back over ready to hold you in my arms."

Chloe sighed. "You promise?"

Beca nodded. "I promise, now I gotta get you home so you can make your family dinner."

"What will you eat? You're gonna be out for awhile.."

Beca shrugged. "I guess I'll stop and pick up a burger and fries from somewhere when I'm done."

Chloe shook her head. "I'll save some of what my mom cooked for you and have a plate waiting for you."

Beca smiled and started driving. "That'd be great, thanks Chlo."

Beca parked her car and sighed. "I can't believe I'm fucking doing this…"

"Beca.." Bumper said as he started knocking on her window.

Beca frowned. "What the fuck?" She got out of the car and pushed him. "What do you want?"

Bumper flinched and put his hands up to defend his face. "I'm sorry Beca, I had no idea he was gonna do this."

"Fuck you! Do you know how hard it was for me to get out? Now I'm back in because I fucking helped you, you asshole."

Bumper sighed. "I really thought I was done with him Beca I swear! When you gave him the money I thought that was it but then they scooped me up and held me hostage while they waited for you to call me, only you never called so PJ took matters into his own hands. I would've warned you if I could but they-"

"Enough Bumper! There was nothing you could do I get it… I'm still pissed that I'm even in this situation though, he threatened Chloe."

Bumper nodded. "I'm gonna get you out of this, I don't know how but I will."

Before Beca could say anything, a car pulled up and blinked its lights. Beca sighed and pushed Bumper. "Get in the car asshole." She said opening her car door before running over to the car across the street.

"You with PJ?"

Beca nodded. "Wouldn't have been here if I wasn't, you got the stuff?"

He looked both ways before reaching down and grabbing it. "You got my money?"

Beca pulled it out and handed it to him. "I also have a gun in case you try to pull any tricks."

The guy smirked. "You must be Beca… I see why PJ likes you, shame he got you first." He handed Beca the stuff and drove away.

"Asshole." Beca said before quickly running to her car. She looked at Bumper and rolled her eyes. "So now that they got me you're free or something?"

"I wish, they sent me down to work with you in case you needed help." He grabbed Beca's phone and quickly typed something out.

They have me bugged, they wanted me to kill Chloe if you don't follow through.

Beca's eyes widened and she nodded. "Well I got the job done and I told PJ I would, now I just wanna drop this shit off and go to bed."

"Beca I'm so proud of you, you did the job and you got it done fast!" PJ said with a grin. "You're becoming my favorite worker already."

Beca folded her arms and nodded. "Here's your shit I'm leaving…"

"Ah ah ah, not so fast B…" He walked over to her. "It's only two in the morning, the night is young and there's still so many deals to make."

Beca sighed. "PJ I have school in the morning.."

PJ laughed. "Fuck school! Working with me you'll become richer than you already are!"

"Dude this is my senior year! I have people counting on me to graduate! I'm counting on myself to graduate, I didn't come this far to quit school when I have five months left."

PJ sighed. "Come on Beca you don't need this.."

"I do, why can't you understand… This means a lot to me."

PJ rolled her eyes. "Whatever, go home so you can go to school in the morning. But Beca I want you here right after school, you better be here by four.."

Beca nodded. "Fine."

Beca pulled up to Chloe's house and let out a breath. "What a day…" She said to herself before pulling out her phone and texting Chloe to let her know she was outside. She saw the door open and made her way inside. "Hey.."

Chloe wrapped Beca in a hug. "I'm so glad you're okay."

Beca smiled and nodded. "Yeah I'm fine."

Chloe sighed and dragged Beca to her room, quickly shutting the door. "I know you're not really fine but when you're ready to talk I'm here.."

Beca nodded. "I saw Bumper… They sent him to make sure I did as I was told."

"Wow… How'd he look?"

Beca shrugged. "Skinnier.. Bruised.."

Chloe sighed. "I don't like this…"

Beca grabbed Chloe's hands and kissed them. "I'll be fine babe I promise, I'm gonna keep everyone safe."

Chloe pulled Beca into a kiss and nodded. "Okay… Let me warm up your food, I'll be right back."

Beca nodded and fell onto Chloe's bed as she left the room. "Fuck this shit…"

Chloe walked back into the room a few minutes later with two plates of food. "I didn't eat, I couldn't eat until I knew you were okay."

Beca sighed. "Chlo I don't want you worrying about me like that, I'll be safe I promise.."

"I just wish this wasn't happening." Chloe said sadly. "It seems like it's always something happening." Chloe said with a sigh. "I miss the simpler days when my biggest worry was whether or not you were dating my cousin."

Beca laughed. "And that seemed like the end of the world at that time."

Chloe nodded. "How is this gonna end?"

Beca sighed, she knew it wouldn't end good. "I-I don't know Chlo.."
