Dan 10 Reboot S2 EP 12: Paradox

Intro:

A green glowing, steel pod was flying through space, hurtling towards earth as it crashes, making a huge green flash.

The camera zooms out from the glowing symbol on the Ultimatrix as Dan looks up close at it.

He then activates it while smirking at the camera, raising his hand high and slapping it down on the core.

The background turns all green as Dan morphed into Four Arms, who pumps his upper fists while cracking his lower ones with a smirk.

A white number appears on the left side, starting at 1.

"Dan 10!"

2: Heatblast generates fire around his feet, making a ring of it as fire balls appears in his hands

"Dan 10."

3: XLR8 zooms around and screeches to a stop

4: Diamondhead stomps his foot to make pillars of crystal appear as he turns his arms into blades and crossed them.

"DAN 10!"

5: Cannonbolt rolls in and stops, uncurling with a grin and thumbs up.

"Dan 10!"

"Dan 10."

6: A shadow figure shows with a question mark on it

7: Grey Matter leaps off the number and cross his arms with a smirk.

"DAN 10!"

8: Water Hazard rides in on a wave and whips at the screen with his water while firing his other hand upward, making it rain.

"Dan 10."

9: Wildvine lands on his vines as he holds out his seed bombs with a grin.

10: Big Chill phases through the number and made his ice armor fist, smashing them together and zooms near the camera.

"DAN 10!"

Big Chill's head turns back into Dan's as it rotates.

The camera zooms out to reveal Max, Hotaru and Kate by his side.

Dan gave a fistbump to his grandfather as Kate and Hotaru hugs each other.

The 2 then ran off-screen, making Hotaru turn into Sailor Saturn as she twirls her Scythe and taps the bottom on the floor as Dan and her shares a smile at each other.

He then smirks at the camera along with the 11-year old girl as he holds up his Ultimatrix as it glow brightly as his Ultimate aliens appear besides the 2.

The Rust Bucket was driving through another desert as the Tennyson were enjoying themselves. As Max was enjoying some peace in quiet, he noticed something in the distance. "That's odd… hey, kids! You better buckle up." Why, Grandpa?" Kate asked as they got into there seat as the RV took a detour. I just saw something and wants to check it out. It will be a while." Max said as the RV screeches toa stop as the family piles out, gazing up at a brick wall. "A brick wall in the middle of nowhere? That's what got you curious, Grandpa?" Dan asked out in disbelief with crossed arms. "Hmm… Very odd for this to be in a desert." Hotaru spoke out while tapping her chin. Kate noticed a sign on it. "'Los Soledad'? Is that a place?" "Hey… I heard about this place! It's a old secret Military base that was pretty big back in the 50's, it was a research facility that focuses on a top-secret project. Guess the Army forgot about this after a while, after the experiment failed, from that I've heard." "A Military base out in the middle of nowhere, huh? Sounds like a hot spot for cool alien activity!" Dan grins out as he rubs his hands. "Well, I doubt we can find the front door, bro. Because it looks like there's no way in." Hotaru then notices something. "Then… why is there a large hole in the wall?" They all glanced at it as Max was confused. "What? But these brick walls were built to last."

The Rust Bucket drove in as they all got out. "Whoa… talk about a ghost town!" Dan spoke out as Kate comments. "Anyone one notices one of the holes was person shaped?" "Like whoever burned these trails in the ground." Max spoke out as they all noticed the scorch marks as Dan saw some skeletons. "Check it out, Animal bones! Gross!" "Guys… I got a bad feeling about this." Hotaru spoke out as she glances around. They then noticed a destroyed telephone booth. "Looks like whatever was here, turned the metal into sand, just by standing here." Kate observes as Hotaru adds in. "And what ever was here, went into the Police Station, and those bunkers." "I think I know who's responsible! Vilgax! He's back!" "Now, Dan. We don't know if Vilgax is behind this." Grandpa Max assures his 10-year old Grandson as the Japanese girl asked out. "Vilgax?"

"Uhh… I don't think Vilgax is responsible." Kate spoke out as they turns towards her. "Why?" "Because of that!" She points a strange creature that is humanoid, looking like a mass of energy and has a an after-trail following it. "Hot pot of coffee! What is that?!" "Don't worry, Grandpa! I'll make it stop, hard!" FLASH "Diamond hard!" Diamondhead exclaim as he fire shards, that shattered on it and makes it flinch, making it go around as Diamondhead missed punching it as it scraps a building, sending it tumbling down as the alien made a dome over them, shielding them as he retracts it "What… was that?" The alien questions as they saw the being is gone, just another trial of melted ground. "Don't know. But it was really odd… I sensed a human in it, but it was scrambled, I couldn't tell." Hotaru asked out as Max took over. "We need to find out about that thing at the Library, it looks like it's searching for something on this base." "Ooh! I always wanted to do some digging in the army's own books!" Diamondhead sighs out as he changes back. "Wonderful… Schoolwork on Summer Vacation."

At the Library, Kate was searching through some old computers. "Hmm… Looks like these films are corroded. But it looks like this base was made for a Time experiment called 'Project Paradox'." "Time? Why would they build a base out in the middle of a desert?" Dan askes out as Max points out. "From what I know, this base is near a huge supply of Quartz." "I get it… so the Quartz acts like a stabilizer and power source for this 'experiment'." "Yeah… Hey, Hotaru! Didn't you mentioned that one of your Sailor Scouts was a 'guardian of time' or something?" "Sailor Pluto? Well, she does guard the Door of Time and Space, but I don't think she would have mentioned this 'experiment'. Maybe she didn't sense it, at all." Kate then notices a man on the newspaper. "Check this man out! His name is censored, but it looks like his 'Paradox' theory is some sort of tunnel through time." "Well, let's check out this 'Time Tunnel', kids. Maybe we can get a clue on what's going on." Grandpa Max suggested as they all left.

As they arrived at the testing room, they found a large, gate shaped Quartz in the middle, only to noticed that several objects were starching towards it! Like they were made of Play-doh! "Okay! This is not normal." Dan spoke out as they examine it. "Wonder what did this?" Kate questions out. Hotaru spotted another trail, but it was different. "Look at this! A single trail. So ether the thing went In here and vanished…" "Or it was born here." Max finishes. Suddenly, a loud noise was heard from the observing deck, making Dan frowns as he changes into Heatblast. He rushed behind and grabbed a figure. "Got you! Now! Who are you?" He narrows his sockets at the man.

The man looks to be around 40 and has black hair, grey eyes, and fair skin. He wore a white lab coat over a white shirt with a brown vest and black tie, black pants, and black shoes. He also wore goggles with green lenses around his neck. But the strange thing is that he is smiling, as if he is unfazed at a fire and magma alien is glaring at him and holding him by his coat. "Heatblast… That takes me back. Or is it forward? It is so hard to tell. Have we met, Dan?" "Wait! You… know who I am?" The others join up as Heatblast lets go. "Have we met, yet? Is the better question." "Hey… your that man from the newspaper! The Paradox scientist." "Correct, Maxwell! And good to see you, Kate and Hotaru, it has been a long time since I saw any of you, or is it a little while?" "You know all of us? But we never met you until now." The Japanese girl spoke out as Kate notices he is the same as his picture. "You haven't change in all over 60 years." "Oh… More then that, I'm afraid. Gumball?" Heatblast shakes his head and denies the treat, dispute not wanting to, but can't enjoy it since he is now made of pure fire. "Naw… Not in the mood. Who are you and what's your name, buddy?" "You all read my file; I was hoping you can tell me! It slipped my mind, several hundred years ago." Max's eyes widened at what the man said. "What?! Did you say several hundred years?!" "Wait… Really?! You lived for several—" They suddenly noticed that he was gone, disappeared without a trace. "What?! But how!?"

"By the way." They glanced back at the man, who is now by the doorway. "Did any of you spot a space-time anomaly around, have you? About yea big? Incredibly destructive and virtually unstoppable? No? I must be thinking of another moment. Taa-taa!" He walks off as Heatblast chases after with the rest following. "But how?!" Heatblast exclaims as he saw he was not in the lab anymore, but outside, leaning on a pole. "He might be connected to that creature we saw." Grandpa Max comments. "That's all I need to know, Grandpa!" Heatblast cries out as he smashes through the wall and tries to grab the man, but was surprised that he disappeared around the pole. "Seriously?!" He saw him waving as he closes a door, making him growl as the alien smashes the door down and blasted through several walls, making fire blast out of the roof and explodes In the distance. "Dan! Stop wrecking the place! You need to calm down!" Kate cries out, only for the 3 to be surprised as the man appear near them. "Was I in there? And it's kind of futile getting Dan to calm down while in his Pyronite form, Kate." He runs off and pass a wall, just as it exploded as Heatblast rockets after him, tackling the man and holding him down. "No more games, doctor disappear!" "That was public property, you know. And easy on the coat, it's 1200 years old!"

Hotaru approaches and places a hand on his shoulder. "Dan… We need to talk to him, not hurt him. Maybe if we ask him, he can explain." The alien stares at the girl's eyes and sighs out. "Man… I must be getting soft." He picks the man up and cross his arms. "Thank you, Ms. Tomoe. And thanks, Dan." "For what?" The hero asked with a raised eyebrow. "Well, if we made a loud enough racquet, he show up!" They then heard the same noise the creature makes as it appears. "Finally! Something to punch in the face!" Heatblast socks a fist into his hand while narrowing his sockets. "I really wouldn't do that!" Kate then noticed the trail marks were not being burned at all. 'Wait… The marks! There not burn marks, there aged! The creature accelerates time!" "Preciously!" The man answers with a grin. "Feel the heat, ugly!" Heatblast cries out as he fires a stream of flame, but it didn't affect as it charges at Heatblast. "DAN! LOOK OUT!" Max cries out as pushes the alien out of the way, but was tackled by the being. He then starts turning into a skeleton and then to dust, much to the horror and shock to the children! "GRANDPA!" Kate cries out as Hotaru gasped while covering her mouth. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Heatblast cries out, only to snarl at the escaping being as he made a massive fireball over his head and chucks it, blowing up a sector of the base as flames roared on. "YOU BETTER RUN! YOU HEAR ME?!" Heatblast roar in anger while shaking a fist.

He then times out as he looks at the pile of dust with sad eyes. "Grandpa…. No!" He fell to his knees as his head was down at his grandfather's demise as Kate hangs her head down as Hotaru, dispute not knowing Max as long as the siblings, covers her face and cries out, having to think of him like a grandfather-figure, only to lose him. Just then, the creature appears again as Kate noticed. "We need to go! We can't fight this thing!" She cries as the other 2 follows after her. They made it to the Rust Bucket as Kate got in the driver's seat. "What are you doing?!" "Driving! Grandpa has been teaching me a few things, ever since my last birthday!" Dan notices some book and gets an idea! "In that case! You're going to need these!" He exclaims as he uses the books and some string to tie them to her feet, making her reach the pedals and floors it, making the RV shot forward, just as the creature chases after them. "Great! That thing is now after us!" Dan exclaims as Hotaru glares out and unbuckles her seatbelt, turning into Sailor Saturn as she got onto the roof. "It's time this thing is finished! For Max!" She swung out some energy waves. "Silence Rings!' She cries out as she twirls her scythe and throws it at the being, turning into 4 energy rings. This attack usually, slices through objects, or capture living villains in an unescapable bind that slowly drains them of their energy until they lose conscious. But to their surprise, the attacks merely phased out as the being didn't even flinched from them. "What?! But that's Impossible!" She quickly regain her staff and got back in. "My attack didn't even faze it!" "Super!" Dan groans out. He then saw the being was about to touch the back. "Look out!" But it was too late as it was turning the RV old as it becomes rusted and windows crack as it breaks down. "No! Not the Rust Bucket!" Kate cries out. Sailor Saturn cries out to her friend in a despite move. "Come on! XLR8! Four Arms! Big Chill! Water Hazard! Even your Ultimates! Anyone?!" "Trying! The stupid Gauntlet is still charging! It won't let me!" Suddenly the RV launches up a ramp onto a roof, sliding to a stop, making the kids catch their breath.

They all exit as they relax. "Well… we got away." Kate spoke out, only for the RV to collapse into a pile of scrap as Dan groans out. "Oh, man! This is so not our day." "There you are!" They all glanced at the man, looking at a pocket watch as he frowns. "You were suppose to get here, 6 seconds ago! Or is this thing running fast?" Dan roars out in anger and rage and grabs the man's coat, bring him down to his glaring face. "Easy! Must you always grab me by the jacket?" "I had have enough of you and your lame riddles, you fancy-pants freak! You're going pay for what happened to Grandpa Max!" "And is that supposed to threaten me? I walk in eternity." "Well, you're going to be lying in a hospital bed of eternity when Four Arms is through with you!" Dan narrows his eyes into silts as he grits his teeth, but the man wasn't even remotely scared, or did a good job not showing. Ether way, he gestured to a corner as they all turn to see him emerging with Grandpa Max, safe and sound as the kids were stunned, before tears were shed. "GRANDPA!" All 3 cries out as they tackle and hugs him as they laugh. "You're okay!" "We thought you were gone!" "Don't you dare scare us like that!" Max chuckles as he pats there heads. "Kids! Kids… Take it easy. Being brought back from dust is kind of weird for me. Besides, I was only gone for a few mins."

The man spoke out. "Actually, to be more precise, 4.24 minutes. But that's not the point. You should be considered lucky that I was able to bend the rules a bit. In fact, one must be incredibly careful when—" "Enough! We want answers, now! No more excuse!" Dan cries out. "Same old, Dan Tennyson. You're even more a leader then you are now then you are in the future, which for obviously reasons, I can't tell." "Well, what can you tell us about, Paradox?" The Tennysons glanced at Sailor Saturn as she explains. "He was part of Project Paradox. And since we don't know his name, might as well call him that." "Huh… Guess it makes sense. And it fits him since he was the head professor of this base." "Indeed! Professor Paradox! Yes! That will do! That will do, nicely! I'll tell you my story, with a beginning, middle and end. But let's start with the middle, shall we?" Paradox made his watch glow blue as events are shown while he narrates.

"Los Soledad was built out of my ingenious theory. A Time Tunnel, utilized by properties, discovered in Quartz Crystals, which allows us access to past and future events." "Which is not a good idea for humans to mess with, on account of Sailor Pluto teaching me the consequences of messing time and space." Sailor Saturn points out as Dan snarks out as they see the experiment falling. "Yeah! And for some genius professor, it sure back fired on you, big time, huh? Pun intended, of course!" "Pun accepted! And you 2 don't know the half of it. Some tiny miscalculation on my part, destabilized the experiment and ripped a hole in the fabric of reality. I was thrown into the Event Horizon. I spent over 100,00 years there. I didn't age, sleep, or eat. Just existed. " "That must be awful! Not seeing your family or friends! Or getting to eat anything!" "Really Grandpa? Paradox is telling us his story that's what you think is bad?" Kate asked out as Max shrugs. "Hey! I got good taste!" "That's Grandpa, all right!" Dan smirks as he points his thumb behind as Sailor Saturn giggles in response. "At first, I went insane! But after a few thousand years, I became bored and became sane, very sane. I then decided to learn."

Paradox stores his watch as he finishes his story. "I now have full understanding of the Space-Time Continuum! Allowing me to travel any where and any when, I want! Within reason." "Mind…. Blown!" Dan spoke out with wide eyes and stun surprise on his face. "So… where's your time machine?" Max asked out. Sailor Saturn figures out as she answers. "He doesn't need one. He's got a map of it, in his head!" "Right!" He winks at the 11-year old. "I know where all the shortcuts are. I spent a dozen lifetimes, crisscrossing the time stream, making it a better place." "Wow! Like a time-traveling hero?!" Kate breaths out in awe. "Well, that's highly informative and impressive, Professor. But why are you here at the place where it all started?" Max asked out as the man answers as they all suddenly finds themselves in a classroom. "I'm glade you asked that, Maxwell." "Oh, man! And I thought I would never see another classroom for a long while." Dan groans out at being in school during summer.

"You see, recently I discovered that some sort of extradimensional creature is going to wreak havoc across the universe." "What's the deal? You talk like you take on monsters like these all the time?" Paradox explains as he draws a diagram on the board. "Because, unlike the hundreds of foes I've encountered before, this… extradimensional being came into our existence, the moment my experiment went awry." "Oh, sure! Blame the scientist, not the scientist. That's so cliché…" Kate frowns as she rolls her eyes. Saturn points out a fact about what Paradox said about the creature. "This thing haven't been around for 55 years. People would have noticed by now." "Time is like a river. It moves, flows and bends along the path of the cosmos." Dan scratches his head at the example, having no idea on Quantum Physics. "Man… why does Time Travel sounds cooler and less complicated in video games and moves?" "55 years ago, I accidentally set off a depth charge in that river, blasting the creature forward 55 years into this time, doing this to your future." He draws lines on the 'river'. "But all it's doing is just messing around with an old army base. Why not just leave it alone?" Max asked out as he doesn't understand how dangerous creature is, dispute being aged into dust by it before. "That's a better question for the Man on the Moon." "Who's that?" Dan asked out.

"I AM!" Suddenly, the group finds themselves on the surface of the moon, not suffering any effects from the vacuum of space, much to their shock! "We're on the moon! HOW COOL IS THIS SUMMER VACATION!?" Dan cries out is awe and amazement. "How are we not suffocating or anything, Paradox?!" Max cries in shock as the man explains. "Good question, not the point, thought. We're on the moon in the distant future. Now, imagine what Earth would be like in 200 years with that time creature on the loose, aging everything it comes in contact with. For those with limited imaginations, direct your attention above." They all glanced up, only to be stunned at the sight of a brown, lifeless Earth, just hanging in space like a lifeless barren rock. "No way…" Kate breaths out as Sailor Saturn trembles as she keep gazing at it with wide eyes. "So much Death…. So many auras of destruction… It's so much…" Max stood silent as Dan spoke out in terror. "You brought us to our worst future!" "No, Daniel. This is the best case scenario if we don't stop that thing. "'Best-case'?! Well, I hate to see the worst-case!" "Never the less, we must be going now, now that you all know the stakes." Paradox made the group disappeared.

Back at the base, the group of 5 reappears in a flash of blue light. "Why come back here? What if we travel back in time and stop the experiment from happening, if it's the source?" "It's just like an energy being to think outside of Temporal Conventions. At least the Alicorns understand." "What's a Ali—" Paradox interrupts Kate as he explains to the family. "The experiment that releases the creature, also unsticks me from time. Which much happen! Because, well in all modesty…" "You save the world, dozens of times!" Dan fires it out as Saturn adds in. "And you always make sure History happens in the way it's suppose to and make sure Time is on track!" Actually, hundreds and yes to that statement. In fact, when you 2 are in your late teenage years, we'll all work together to save the entire—Never mind. It should be here, any—" Just then, some crashing is heard as they saw the smoke. "Guess who's back…" Kate spoke out. "You should set your watch to it." Taking Paradox's advice, Dan selects Big Chill and turns into the moth, taking up to the air as he breaths ice on the creature, only for Ice to break off as it soon as it touches it. he then makes a wall in front, only for it to go through. Paradox throws some Gumballs that hit the being only to make it stop as the Gumballs didn't age at all. "Wait! They stopped it? But doesn't stuff age into nothing from touching that thing?' Big Chill asked out. "Gumballs last an awfully long time. Look under your desk at school, now look out!" The beast charges again as Sailor Saturn points her scythe at it, only for Paradox to tackle it and holds it back as he struggles. "Stop! That thing will destroy you!" Max cries out as the man responds. "I exist outside of time! But I can still feel the eons passing!" Big Chill lands as he cries out. "Paradox! Take us back to the accident!" "I told you—" "Juts do it!" The man did it as they all were back in the base's past.

Big Chill times out as he turns towards the others. "Okay! Grandpa, Kate! You help Paradox keep that thing under control while keeping away from that thing's touch! Sailor Saturn! You're with me!" Dan runs off as the Sailor Scout follows. "Dan! Where you're going?!" "Just keep it busy!" He cries back to his Grandfather as the 11-year old magic girl follows. The 2 kids snuck in into the lab, pass the General and tip toes into the experiment area and ducks beneath the view window, out of sight. As the Past Paradox assures the experiment will work, Dan ponders out. "Why did it use a telephone?" "Huh?" "The creature. It tired used a phone, then went to the police station and dorms. It didn't act like a mindless, dimension monster, it act more like a person that's lost.." "… If he suddenly finds himself in an old Military base." Saturn spoke as she catches on! Just then, the experiment activates as both kids shields themselves from the light. As they adjust, the boy glances at another man, backing away and accidently bumping into a console, making it spark and explode. "Hey! The assistant!" The Wormhole starts pulling ad stretching things towards it as the past Paradox tries to flee, but was sucked in, throwing him into the Event Horizon as he's supposed to. The kids saw the assistant was getting sucked in as well as he screams in horror. Dan was trying to get up close as the winds were strong. "Dan! No! You'll get pulled in as well!" "Just need to put on some weight and muscle!" FLASH The general and views were shocked at the massive, 6-armed alien before them. "UILTIMATE FOUR ARMS!" He cries out as he stabs 4 arms into the ground and grabs the man with his remaining 2. "Trust me, buddy! You don't want to go in there!" He manages to pull away from the suction as he cries out. "Now, Saturn!" "Silence Rings!" The Sailor Scout cries out as she uses her ring attack, hitting the ring as it destabilizes and sucks itself into the rift, sealing it with a flash of light.

Paradox braces himself as the creature was going to ram into Kate and Max, only for it to stop as it turns into the man, making Paradox glance down at him and smiles out. "Hugo! Of course! If it were a snake, it would have bit me!" Dan and Hotaru shows up with smiles at a job well done as the time walker notices the boy's grin with lidded eyes. "Don't give me that smug look! I would have figured it out, eventually." "Dude! You had a 100,000 years!" Dan cries out as they disappear in a flash of light as Hugo was shocked.

As the group were back in present day, Paradox spoke out to Dan "I must say, I'm impressed! In all those centuries, trapped in the Even Horizon, it never occurred to me that the accident wasn't my fault. You're much smarter then you currently are then when I met you later." "No problem! It's what us heroes do." Dan smirks out as Kate cross her arms. "Being a doofus?" "What ever happened to the assistant?" Hotaru asked out as the man in question, now aged, appears behind them. "I lived my life, little lady." "Hugo! How are you? Paradox smiles as he shakes hands with his old partner and friend. "Well, you look the same! And I haven't seen you in over 55 years!" "I haven't seen you in a hundred thousand. But you don't look that bad. How was your life?" "Good… a Good life. But I'm sorry about the experiment. I ruined everything. I never got to time travel.' Paradox smiles at his old friend as he asked him. "Do you still want to?" "…Yes. I'm not afraid anymore." "Splendid!" The man took out his pocket watch and made it glows as he opens a swirling blue portal. "How about, I give a behind-the-scenes look at eternity?!' The boy enters in as it closes behind them. "Well, at least he has company." "By the way, where's the Rust Bucket?" The kids got a worried look as they glanced at one another. "Come on, Grandpa. Might as well show you…" Dan groans out. Only when they turn a corner, they were surprised to the RV, good as new!

"WHOA! The Rust Bucket!" "It looks like new!" Hotaru exclaims as they examine it. "It's not just that, it IS new! This Rust Bucket is fresh off the assembly line, nearly 28 years ago!" "Wow! That Professor Paradox is something." Kate spoke out as they all made there way in, glad to see there things where they were. Dan notices a note tapped to the side of the RV as he grabs it, going in as he read it out loud. "'Maxwell, keep in mind that if this RV comes in contact with anything else from the year 1988, it will explode like Anti-matter. Enjoy, Paradox.'" "Uhh… He's kidding, right?" The RV drove off to it's next stop as Max asked out. "Seriously… It' a joke, right?"
