Watching Sue Ellen place her empty glass down on the coffee table, making eye contact with him, JR waited for her to being to speak, answering his question. "Yes, he was out with her last night, but no, I don't know any further details. I can only assume they spent the night together, but I don't know that for a fact, and I don't know anything about tonight, he didn't tell me". Listening to her comments, he didn't doubt she was telling the truth, if he were Bobby he wouldn't be spilling all the intimate details to anyone either; casual sex was one thing, but a developing, new relationship was another, even without the woman in the relationship being a Barnes. He hadn't told anyone about Sue Ellen for a while and she was a trophy that deserved showing off, he could only imagine the things Bobby had to deal with when out with Pamela; no matter how pretty she was or how wild she was in bed, it was still a scandal for her to be on his arm.

"Interesting, he didn't say anything to me either, but it's so obvious", commenting mostly to himself, he frowned when Sue Ellen laughed and shook her head. "JR, it's not that interesting, or surprising, even if it is obvious to you. I'm only an outside observer, but I've heard more about this ridiculous feud between the two families recently than ever before and I can't blame Bobby or Pamela for wanting to keep whatever's going on between them private, especially considering how you act sometimes, your disapproval is very clear and that's not what any new couple wants to hear. I don't think it's really our business until it becomes our business; we know, but they aren't ready to share yet and we should respect that, as much as I know you don't want to, it's the right thing to do. Remember how much we hated my mother interfering in our relationship? If we start poking and prodding things now we're no better than her; granted she wanted us together, once she realised Billy Frampton was not in my future, but still, the constant checking up on us and having words, it was too much and not wanted".

Giving him her honest thoughts, JR continued to frown at her comments; she didn't seem very concerned at all about the problems Pamela's introduction to Bobby's life could have on everyone, not just Bobby, in fact, she seemed to support it. It wasn't new information, he knew she liked Pamela, but again, why that was continued to puzzle him. The appeal of a woman to another woman wasn't the same as an appeal of a woman to a man, so where Bobby could potentially be forgiven for losing common sense over a pretty face and nice body, questions had to be asked of Sue Ellen, because she was interested in Pamela's personality, which to him hadn't seemed very pleasant. Her comments about Patricia did hit a nerve though; he didn't like the woman and the only time he appreciated her interference was when he could use it to manipulate situations to his favour, however, even considering that, he didn't want to be compared to her, they were nothing alike.

"Sue Ellen…", opening his mouth to respond, he only managed to get her name out before he was taken by surprise as she shifted closer to him, placing a hand on his, lacing their fingers together and looking him in the eye. "Don't say anything yet, just think about what I said and then tell me, are we really going to spend our evening discussing Pamela, a girl you claim to want nothing to do with, or are you going to finish what we started earlier?" Gently rubbing the side of his hand with her thumb, he couldn't help but smile; despite her only touching him gently, there was absolutely no discreetness in her behaviour, he knew she was trying to distract him, it was working though. There really wasn't much competition when she phrased it like she had; they'd had an interesting conversation earlier about exactly what their alone time could look like if they both wanted it to; unsurprisingly, Pamela Barnes played no part in that, nor should she now, however, for some reason he'd insisted on bringing attention to her presence in Bobby's life.

He really hated the idea of a Barnes having any claim on Ewing property, and with Bobby's odd sense of right and wrong and his strangely decent behaviour when it suited him, it was hard to predict the future. His little brother could just be enjoying a change from moving from girl to girl, this time deciding to have a good time with just one girl, a girl who happened to be a Barnes; Bobby had also almost been a married man once though and the choice not to go through with that wedding had not been his. He couldn't be sure exactly what Bobby was planning now, but it would be foolish not to anticipate marriage one day, and if no one else knew or was going to be concerned, surely he had to. He probably didn't have to figure everything out right now though, not when he was nowhere near his brother or Pamela, and definitely not when he had his wife sitting next to him, willing him to let go and loosen up so that they could get back to having fun like they had planned.

"That's what I thought", apparently reading his thoughts, or his facial expression, Sue Ellen's gentle rubbing on his hand turned into a squeeze as she leaned forward to kiss him softly, stroking his cheek with her other hand before pulling back slowly and standing. "Now, I'm going upstairs, I have a few items to try on again for size, it's been a few years since I last wore them", smiling seductively at him, she then turned and headed toward the door, not looking back until she reached the foyer, "I might need a little help getting them off. You wouldn't happen to know anyone who would help with that, would you?" Chuckling to himself as she all but told him what she wanted, he didn't need to be asked twice, "I think I might", grinning as he spoke, they made eye contact and before he knew it, she was sashaying up the stairs. He would give her a few minutes to prepare whatever she had planned, after that though, she would be his, just as he had wished she had been all those years ago, the night he'd first laid eyes on her.
