Chapter 20

"I need to do this Dean. I need to go back and see them. Let them know that I'm…that we're okay."

Dean shook his head. "Look I want to support you but Jo this is too much. We have no idea what you will be walking into"

"Gabriel's been back," she told him.

"Say what?" Dean asked as he cocked his eyebrow in disbelief.

"He's been back. Said Chuck has done a 180 and stopped throwing everything at them like he was when you guys went mano a mano with him."

Dean sat up straight at that nugget of information. "Think he's on the up and up?"

"He literally has nothing left to hide." Jo said as he chewed on his lower lip in concentration.

"Interesting," Dean murmured as he stood up. "I wonder if he's not up to his full strength thanks to the bullet stuck in his shoulder."

Jo stood up and grabbed Dean by the arm. "Can we stay on topic. I need to go back. I need them to know me and Ami are alright."

"Whoa...whoa…whoa. How about we discuss this." He said. "We don't really know if what he's telling you is the truth."

"What if Castiel and Jody go with us?"

Dean stopped in mid stride, "us?"

Jo took a deep breath as she said, "me and Ami."

"Ami…Ami…you want to take our daughter into an unknown situation?" Dean said in shock.

"Dean, please. I need to do this. They put there lives on the line for me and Ami."

"No, they made a deal." He argued.

Jo sighed, "the other Dean made the deal…John and Sam didn't. They all put themselves out there for me and Ami, especially John. Dean I need John to meet Amelia…to meet his granddaughter."

Dean took a few deep breaths as he looked at Jo and saw the determination in her eyes. He knew that look…he remembered it from years ago and knew what pushing Jo to bend to his will would do…he would lose her completely.

Shaking his head he knew what he needed to do…knew that if he actually wanted this life with Jo to work that he was going to have to support her. "Gabriel stays here and opens the portal with Rowena spell. Cas goes through first and checks it out. He has to determine if that dimension is truly safe and you have to agree that if he says no it's not safe…then you don't do it."

"Agreed but if he says it is safe?" Jo said.

Dean closed his eyes as he exhaled the breath he was holding. "Then you, Cas and Jody will be taking a trip into the other dimension together with Ami." He said as he ducked his head.

"You and Sammy have that case in Colorado. It would be better if we take Gabriel with us and…"

"No way, he stays, and he stays under guard until you come back. I'll call Donna and Bobby to come to babysit him."

"Bobby?" Jo said. Dean had told her that apocalypse world Bobby was one of the hunters that had come through to this dimension a few years ago. She was a little surprised he suggested him since him and Sammy didn't seem close to this Bobby.

Dean nodded his head, "yeah…he's not like our Bobby but him and Donna will get the job done."

Jo nodded her head as she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned up and kissed him. "Thank you… I know that this isn't easy for you. That this is going against your natural instinct and I love you for believing in me."

Dean wrapped his arms around her Jo's waist and hugged her close. "I love you Jo and I meant it when we were at Jody… I will support you no matter what."

"I love you so much," she said again as she gave him a watery smile before pulling him down for a passionate kiss.

Dean dropped his hands and cupped Jo's ass cheeks as he deepen the kiss. He groaned when Jo slide her hand down his chest to cup him through his jeans.

They pulled apart when Sam knocked on the door and asked if they were decent. "Unfortunate yes," Dean called out as Jo chuckle.

Sam open the door and came into the room. "Everything okay?"

Jo smiled at Sam as she leaned up and kissed Dean in the cheek and said, "why don't you fill Sammy in while I go and talk to Jody."

The younger Winchester watched as Jo left the room and saw the way his brother's shoulders sagged. "Fill me in on what?"

Dean sighed as he looked at his brother. "Seems Jo wants to take a trip," he told his brother as he explained Jo's need to go back to see the others.

Sam sank down into the desk chair as his brother told him about Jo plan. "And you agreed to this?"

Dean sat down on the bed as he looked down at his hands. "You know Jo…what taking control of her life means to her. I swore to try and be the best man I could be for her and I need to support her on this."

Sam gave his brother a smile, "you're doing the right thing Dean and I'm proud of you. I know how hard this is for you but you're being the partner that Jo needs."

"I just hope this doesn't blow up in our faces. Why don't you find Rowena's spell while I reach out to Donna and Bobby." Dean said as he slapped his hands on his knees and stood up.

"Hey," Sam said as he grabbed Dean's arm. "We can pass this job to another hunter and you could go with her if you want."

Dean shook his head, "no, we stick to our plan and do this job. This is Jo's journey and as much as I hate it I have to let her do this without me."

"Okay," Sam said as he patted Dean's shoulder. "I'll pull out Rowena's spell and get the ingredients we need to do."

A Dean watched as his brother left the room as he pulled out his cell phone and clicked speed dial. "Hey Donna, I need to ask you for a favor…"
