Thank you so much Leann Nickerson, Angels-heart1 and Blondie 20000 for your feedback! Yup Dean definitely needed some tough love at this point. Blondie 20000, I know I wondered what they would have done if John had come through with the other Dean and Sam.
Okay so I'm biting the bullet and I think I'm going to continue this story with my own take on the remaining episodes for the season, I just don't see a way around it.
So this is my take on Episode 15x6 Golden Time. Yup I'm bringing Eileen into the story but I'm going to be totally up front, I don't like the character so I'm not spending a ton of time on her or a big romance between Sam and Eileen either so any romance will be 'off camera' as far as this story goes.
See author's note at the end. Thank you again and Enjoy! Val
Chapter 27
Jo looked up from her cup of coffee as Sam came into the kitchen. "Hey, heading out for your run?"
"Yup, want to join me?" He asked as he went into the fridge and pulled out his water bottle.
"Nah, I already rode the stationary bike for an hour after I got up to change Ami."
"Dean up yet?"
Jo shrugged her shoulders. Dean had been in a funk off and on since his encounter with Lilith. At first after his original talk with both Jo and Sam he seemed to be on the same page as them but the more research they did and kept on coming up empty the more morose Dean became.
It progressively got worse after Donna offer Bill and Ellen her cabin when Ash decided to go with Cas on a hunt. Jo had tried to convince them to stay but the couple said they thought it would be easier if they had a little space of their own. Bill had even gone out and got a job as a bartender not to far from the cabin.
"Jo he'll come around soon…"
"Don't Sammy, I'm worried about him and you telling me he'll be fine isn't going to make me worry less."
"Sorry," Sam said as he sat down across from her.
Jo sighed, "No I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you."
"Well I'm worried about him too," he admitted.
"Worry about who?" Asked the man in question as he walked in wearing a pair of hotdog lounge pants and bathrobe heading over to fill his cereal bowl again. "Hey Jo, can you add Coco Crisps to the shopping list."
Jo shook her head, "I brought two family size boxes yesterday."
Dean held up the empty box and turned it upside down to prove his point before looking over at the other box on top of the the recycle bin. "Oh and I think Ami was waking up." He told her as he poured the last of the milk into his bowl.
"And what your arms are broken and you couldn't get your daughter ready for the day." Jo huffed as she stood up to tend to their child.
"Don't forget to add the cereal to the shopping list," Dean called out.
"Add it yourself!" Jo shouted back over her shoulder as she stormed out of the kitchen.
Dean watched her retreating back before turning towards his brother, "what's wrong with her?"
Sam gaped at his brother, "seriously Dean even you can't be that obtuse."
Dean shrugged his shoulders as he scooped up a spoonful of cereal and began shoveling it into his mouth. Sam sighed as he grabbed his water bottle and walked out, he stopped short when he thought he saw something moving and decided it was just his imagination before heading out for his run.

Dean and Jo stared at the apparition of Eileen standing before them. They listened as Eileen explained that she was dragged to Hell when she was killed by the Hellhound even though she hadn't made any kind of deal.
Jo frowned at how quickly both brothers believe her story but decided to keep her thoughts to herself until she felt Dean's head was really back in the game before sharing her concerns.
"I'm going to Rowena's and see if I can find a crystal so that we can create a soul catcher." Sam announced.
"Well let us know if you need any help with that," Dean said distractedly as he looked over at the swing his daughter was currently sitting in.
"Why don't I go with you," Jo offered.
Sam went to say he would appreciate the backup but stopped when he saw Dean give him a quick head shake. "Thanks Jo but I've got this."
Jo watched as Sam left and Eileen flickered away. Turning she watched as Dean went over and lifted Ami out of her swing before turning back towards Jo.
"I'm sorry about earlier," he said.
"Dean, I'm worried about you." She admitted.
"I know… I just don't see how we're going to defeat Chuck. We keep on coming up zilch in the research department."
Jo nodded her head in understanding, "I know this isn't easy Dean but we need you to get your head back into the game."
He smiled as Ami reached up and patted Dean's cheek, "you too Sweetpea."
"She misses her Daddy…probably wouldn't mind if he took a shower…put on some deodorant. Just a suggestion."
Dean tilted his head and sniffed himself. "Yeah you might have a point," he admitted as he pass Ami to Jo.
She gave him a smile when he kissed her cheek. "How about we take Ami to the park, go to lunch? A little family time…just the three of us."
"Sounds perfect," he said as he headed towards their room to hit the shower and get dressed while Jo went to organize Ami's diaper bag.
She had just finished and decided to nurse Ami before they headed out when she heard one of the cell phones in the corner go off. She went over to the counter where all the phones were and saw it was the FBI line.
She looked up at the cheat sheet over the phone to check the cover name. Taking a deep breath she picked up the phone. "This is Assistant Director Kaiser," she said in a clip manner.
"This is Sheriff Alden Roy. I'm calling regarding two of your men. Agents Worley and Coccotti."
Jo rolled her eyes knowing that Dean had come up with those names for Castiel and Ash.
"Right, my I please speak to Agent Coccotti."
"Of course, Ma'am," the voice on the other end of the line said as she heard the phone being passed over before she heard Ash's voice. "Ma'am?"
"Hope you boys are playing nicely with the local sheriff department. Maybe you and Cas could make your way back after you finish this hunt. We could use your special talents."
"Yes Ma'am, thank you Ma'am," Ash said as hand the phone back to the sheriff who smirked at the men before him saying, "I'll get those files for you."

Jo listen as Dean told her about the witches at Rowena's and how close they came to losing to them.
"You and Sam are right; I know I need to get out of this funk. It's dangerous for any hunter to be distracted no matter what they're up against."
Jo reached out and squeezed Dean's hand. "You both made it though."
"Thanks to Eileen. I hope Sam knows what he's doing down there."
Jo chewed on her lower lip as she got up and closed the door to their bedroom. "Dean, I'm not completely sure how I feel about her claim."
"What do you mean?"
Jo frowned at Dean, "her story about why she ended up in the pit. She's lying."
Dean looked at Jo in shock, "why would you say that?"
Jo snorted in disbelief, "seriously did you both forget I was killed by a Hellhound? I didn't make a deal and I wasn't dragged to Hell; I went to Heaven. Yet she claims she didn't make a deal either but was dragged to Hell. She's lying about something."
Dean didn't like were Jo was going with this. He knew Sam had feelings for her and he wanted his brother to be happy. "Yeah but technically you died in the explosion," he argued.
Jo considered what Dean said and he had a valid point but Jo had a nagging feeling that wasn't completely correct. She remembered seeing her death and it was her Mom who blew up the store but was she actually already dead or was she dying when Ellen set off the bomb. She felt that she was gone before the explosion but she couldn't dismiss there was a chance she did die in the explosion.
"Jo," Dean said as he pulled her out of her thoughts.
"I didn't push the button," she told him.
"What?" He said in shock.
Jo sighed, "I saw it Dean…when Cas lowered the veil my true memories were behind. I saw the store and Dean I think I was already gone when Mom pushed the button but I guess there is a chance I may not have been gone completely."
Dean gulped as he understood what Jo was telling him. If Jo was gone before the explosion then she was right…there was more to Eileen's story. "We have no way of knowing for sure if you were dead before the explosion."
Jo could see it in his eyes, Dean believed her, "Okay but I still think we need to stay on our toes and be careful. Starting with the baby."
Dean blew out the breath he was holding, "what are you thinking?"
"Mom and Dad would love a little one on one time with her. We could bring her for a visit." Jo suggested.
Dean nodded his head, he still found it weird to hear Jo call this Ellen Mom but it just seemed to come naturally for her to do this.
"And how do we explain that to Sam? 'Hey Sammy, we think Eileen is lying about making a deal and that's why she went to Hell.'"
"Are you saying you're comfortable with her being around Amelia?"
Dean looked over at his sleeping daughter and shook his head, "not until we know the whole story." He admitted. "Call Ellen and make sure they're okay with us bringing Ami. I'll talk to Sam."

Dean looked up when Sam came in, "how's Eileen?"
Sam sat down across from Dean, "She, uh... She's asleep. She had a big day."
"Well, so did you. Hex bags. New body. So, what, are you some kind of witch now?" He asked.
Sam blushed slightly as he said, "Nah, I got lucky."
Dean swallowed as he nodded his head, "yeah. I just wish we knew about that spell for Mom. You did good today, man. I did jack.?
Sam shot a look over at Dean, "You killed a witch, you saved my ass."
"Yeah, I guess so." The older Winchester said.
Sam accepted the beer Dean passed him, "you know what, I've been thinking about something you said, about how we don't make the rules, and you're right. We don't. We never have. But that doesn't mean we can just give up.
"Oh, come on, man. Jo's already given me the pep talk." Dean said as shook his head.
"We have moves to make here, Dean." Sam reassured his brother, "we do. I mean, you think Chuck wanted me to shoot him? Of course not."
"You sure about that?" Dean asked and was satisfied when Sam seemed a little thrown but that thought. "Maybe that was part of the plan, you know? That's the thing, man. I don't know what's God and what isn't, and it's driving me crazy." He confessed.
"How can you say that. All you have to do is walk down the hall and look at that little girl sleeping in her crib and the woman you love waiting for you to know that he isn't controlling everything."
Dean smiled, "true."
"All I'm saying is we'll find a way to beat him. We will. I don't know how yet, but we will 'cause we're the guys who break the rules. But we can't do it without you…I can't do it without you. Just like I couldn't do it today without you. I need my brother…we need you Dean.
Dean nodded his head, "you know we'll always have each other's backs."
"Just feels like things keep getting better for us. First Jo and Ami. Then Ellen, Bill and Ash coming back. Now we have Eileen to help us."
Dean watched his brother and gave him a strained smile, "let's hope you're right." He said before clearing his throat, "look Jo and I were talking and we are going to bring Ami to spend a little one on one time with Ellen and Bill…maybe take a little side trip just the two of us."
Sam frowned at this information, "Eileen and I can take care of Ami if you two want to get away for a few days."
Dean smiled at his brother, "Dude, I think you can think of more fun things to do with Eileen than change dirty diaper."
Sam rolled his eyes at his brother, "we're friends Dean."
"Yes and you will never get to sexing her up with that attitude young man," he teased his brother.
"Okay on that note, I'm heading to bed. If you and Jo change your minds we'll be happy to watch Ami." Sam said.
Dean took a swig of his beer, "nah…Jo wants Ellen and Bill to feel like they're family."
"It's understandable, especially since she started calling them Mom and Dad. "Sam reasoned.
"Yeah," Dean said with a shrugged of his shoulders as he finished his beer and standing up. "I'm heading in, throw together my duffel. We're leaving first thing in the morning."
"Right, okay. See you before you leave." Sam said as he finished his own beer.
"Yup, night Sammy." Dean said as patted his brother on the shoulder.
"Night Dean," the younger Winchester murmured as he picked up both bottles.
Dean stopped and looked over his shoulder at his brother and smiled as he realized that no matter what him and Sam would never give Chuck what he wanted…they would never turn on each other and having that knowledge really gave Dean a feeling of hope.

A/N: Okay so I never bought the fact that Dean and Sam never ever questioned why Eileen went to Hell because she was kill by a Hellhound and supposedly was dragged to Hell but Jo died basically the same way and ended up in Heaven. Sorry...just another giant stupid plot hole thanks to the SPN writers.
