Chapter 38
Jo took the casserole dish out of the oven as Jack came into the kitchen. "Perfect timing," Jo said as she carried the dish to the table.
"Smells good," Jack said as he went over and washed his hands.
"Come on Ms. Ami," Jo said as she lifted her daughter out of her playpen and placed her in her highchair.
Jack smile at the little girl now sitting between him and Jo before asking, "have you heard from Dean?"
"Him and Sam got to the hotel a couple of hours ago," Jo told him.
It was just Jo, Jack, and Ami in the bunker. Castiel had taken off on one of his "secret" missions, Lorna had told Jody she would help her on a hunt that was taking them over ten hours away and the boys had received a message that an old friend had died and had gone to the funeral.
It had taken a lot of convincing between Jo and Sam but finally Dean agreed to go. So, Jo was staffing the phones while her and Jack practice controlling her powers since she had been slacking off on them lately.
Jo scooped a heaping portion of macaroni and cheese onto a plate next to the salad she had already dished up and passed it to Jack, "this was my mom's recipe."
Jack smile as he asked, "will you tell me about her?"
"My Mom…you know Ellen."
Jack shook his head, "but she's not your Ellen."
Jo smiled wistfully, "you're right she's not my Ellen. Different events framed them differently that's for sure."
"So…" Jack said as he took a large forkful of the cheesy goodness and purred appreciatively.
"Well, she was a lot more stubborn than the Ellen you know…then again so was I back then…we were both so pig-headed," Jo explained with a chuckle.
Jack grinned at Jo. Dean and Sam had both joked how death seemed to have mellow Jo. "How else was she different?"
Jo sighed as she feed Ami some mash sweet potatoes, "well this Ellen and Bill are both sad because they're missing a part of them. Their Jo died when she was a little girl in an accident. My Mom was sad too because my dad died but she was also angry. Anger towards Dean and Sam father…anger towards hunters and hunting and her anger spilled over to being extremely overprotective of me and my safety."
Jack frown slightly, "oh."
Jo saw the way Jack seemed upset and realized that she may have confused the Nephilim and smiled, "don't get me wrong Jack. My Mom was amazing and now that I'm a mom I get where she was coming from."
Jack smiled as he nodded his head, "because of Ami."
Jo swallowed as she reached over and placed her hand on Jack's arm and said softly. "Not just Ami."
The young man blushed slightly as he grinned back at Jo. He wished he had the words to describe what he was feeling but he knew he never could.
"Now finished your dinner and that includes the salad. I made a pineapple upside down cake for dessert," she told him with a knowing smile as she went back to alternating between eating herself and feeding Ami her mashed sweet potatoes.

It had been two days since the others had all left and Jo was staring at the frog and knife in Jack's hands. "I really don't like this idea," she told him.
"He won't feel anything, I've put him to sleep, and I promise if you can't fix him I will." Jack reassure her.
"But to experiment on Kermit seems a little twisted even for us," she argued.
"You need to practice your healing," Jack reasoned.
"But to practice on this poor frog," Jo whined as she frowned at the creature.
"I promise he'll be fine and won't feel anything," he said again.
"Fine," Jo finally agreed and winced when Jack sliced the unconscious amphibian's rear leg down the middle and cradled him in front of Jo.
"Remember image the veins, muscles and tendons knitting back together," Jack encouraged her.
Jo closed her eyes and envisioned the frog's leg closing, envisioning the veins, muscles and tendons reconnecting as the frog's skin slowly began to close and after a minute, she opened her eyes when she heard a loud ribbit and Jack laughing as he placed the frog on the table, and it leaped across it.
Ami sat in her highchair and clapped her hands as she giggled when the frog took another leap and landed on her tray.
"I think that's enough jumping," Jack announced as he reached over and picked the creature up and placed it back in the carrier, he had bought for it.
"Well, I guess he's alright," Jo said as she went over and grabbed the sanitizer wipes to clean the tabletop and tray now that they had frog prints all over them.
"Yes, he's definitely fine. We should work on his abdomen next...work on organs and then I'm thinking we should move on to something bigger, maybe a rabbit or Guinea pig."
Jo looked up at Jack, "I don't think that's necessary. I mean me being able to help heal us is useful but Jack you're the one with the kick ass mojo and can manage anything that serious." She reasoned.
Jack ducked his head slightly as he murmured, "I won't always be there Jo, especially after Chuck. I'll feel better if you have better control of your powers.
Jo smiled as she sat down and pointed to the other chair across from her. "I've been wanting to speak to you about after."
"Right," he said as he joined her.
Jo reached across and took Jack's hand in hers. "When this is over, and we move out of the bunker and into the new house. Dean and I want you to join us. We want you to live with us and Ami in our home. Sam will be in his apartment over the garage and Lorna will have her room in the bunkhouse." She told him excitedly but frowned when she saw the tears in his eyes, "Jack?"
"I love you," the young man told Jo.
"I love you too Sweetie," Jo said as she squeezed his hand. "We're a family and you're a wonderful big brother to Ami."
Jack couldn't stop the tears that had been threatening to spill as Jo got up and went around the table, enveloping him in a hug. "Jack talk to me, I know this is a heavy burden that you're carrying on your shoulders but we're all here to help you."
"You don't understand," he cried as he clung to Jo.
"Tell me," She urged.
"I need to know you can control your powers completely. That you'll be prepared…I need to know before…before Chuck…" he rambled excitedly.
Jo frowned in confusion, "Jack what are you saying?"
Jack swallowed as he stared into Jo's eyes, "Billie was here this morning…the last world is gone Jo and he's gonna come for us next."
Jo let out a shaky breath as she looked back and forth between Jack and Ami. "We need to call Dean and Sam. You need to try and contact Cas. We need to help you prepare for this battle…"
Jack shook his head, "you don't understand…there isn't going to be a battle."
"You're right, I don't understand… everything you've been doing is to fight Chuck."
Jack shook his head again as he said softly, "no Jo everything I've been doing is to die. The only way for me to stop Chuck and Amara is by dying…I'm not meant to do battle with Chuck, Jo…I'm meant to be a bomb."
SPNSPNSPN
Dean closed his eyes as he placed the bag with the takeout containers on the seat next to him. That bitch Billie had just dropped in tell him it was time.
He didn't know how he would tell Sam or Jo about Jack. Sure, he kept his game face on while talking to Billie but the more time that passed the harder the idea of losing Jack was.
He hated that the kid thought the only way that he could completely forgive him for his mother's death was to die himself.
Okay maybe if he had found out about what Jack really had to do when he first came back, he wouldn't be so torn about this but now he had forgiven hadn't even realized that he had moved pass his anger until Jo said she wanted Jack to come live with them.
Then Cas had told him that he was leaving to find another way because Billie's big plan was Jack becoming a bomb that would kill his grandfather and great aunt.
He wasn't a fool…he doubted there was another solution, but it didn't make it easier knowing the kid was doing it as a form of atonement to him.
He looked down at the phone on the seat next to him. Jo's smiling face staring up at him. Sighing he lifted the phone and said, "hey Sweetheart, everything okay?"
"When were you going to tell me,"He heard her crying into the phone.
"What?" He asked in wonderment.
"Jack finally told me what his true mission is, and Cas confessed he's been searching for an alternative solution and that he told you before he left. That was almost three weeks ago. How could you not tell me?"
"Jo…" he tried to get her to calm down.
"NO!" She shouted into the phone. "Does Sam know, or have you been lying to him too?"
"I didn't lie," he argued.
"You lied by omission after we swore, we weren't going to do it anymore! The whole not sharing all the information because you think you're protecting us crap!"
Dean sucked in a deep breath, "look I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but I wasn't doing it to keep you or Sam in the dark to protect you."
"Really?!" Jo said in disbelief.
The elder Winchester snorted, "yes really. I wasn't trying to protect your or Sam's feelings…I was protecting the plan from you and Sam! Bad enough Cas is off on his waste of time mission but you and Sam jumping on the 'there's got to be another way' bandwagon isn't going to help anyone, especially Jack!"
He heard her sharp intake of breath and knew as cruel as it was to be so blunt, he continued, "this is it, Jo. We back Jack up and help him finish this or our world is gone…everyone dies including our daughter."
"You could have told me,"She murmured as some of the anger she had felt a few minutes earlier gradually subsiding. She hated that he had a point because she knew he did.
"I'm sorry and I know I have to tell Sam too."
"Yeah, you do…don't let him find out another way…like I did."
Dean raised his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose, "look I get you're pissed but I need to get back to hotel, Sam and Caitlin have a lead."
"Right," Jo said quickly. "Pissed or not pissed I love you so please be careful."
Dean smiled at that, "I love too."
Hanging up the phone he shoved it back into his pocket before reaching down and turning the key in the ignition and heading back to the hotel to finish the damn case.

Dean slid in behind Baby's steering wheel and looked over at his brother as he was dialing his phone. They finally finished what they came for and it was time to head home. Sighing tiredly, he asked, "who you calling?"
His brother looked up at Dean, "I'm just trying Cas again."
"Hang it up," Dean told him knowing he needed to come clean with Sam now…that he couldn't wait any longer.
"What?" Sam asked in confusion.
"Hang up the phone."
Sam frowned at his brother, "what's going on?"
Dean swallowed as he looked at his brother and said, "I got an update. While you and Caitlin were researching... Billie paid me a visit."
"What?"
"It's go time," he told me before adding. "Chuck's done with all the other worlds, and he'll be here any day, and when he does, we gotta act fast. And there's something else."
"Something else?" He asked wondering what other crap was going to be dumped on them.
Dean averted his eyes as he explained, "Jack's gonna die. It was always part of Billie's plan. Jack's known this whole time. And he's ready to sacrifice himself. So in order to kill God and Amara, Jack has to die."
Sam blinked several times as he digested everything Dean had just told him. "Wait. So... Billie just told you this while you were grabbing burgers?"
Dean shook his head and confessed, "no. Cas did, before we left. Before we even got the call about Travis."
Sam glared at his brother, "so you've been sitting on this. What the Hell Dean? I thought we were past stuff like this!"
"I know. Sam..." he tried to reason with him.
"I can't believe you! You know… I mean, how could you keep me in the dark about something so huge?!What about Jo and Lorna?"
"Jo knows…she called and chewed me out already. I'll tell you what I told her. I knew you couldn't handle it! You didn't trust Billie's plan, and then, when we found out about Amara, you... you... you started second-guessing. You raise these... these 'ethical questions' about taking her out too!"
Sam looked at his brother in disbelief as he shouted, "what, I shouldn't? Jack's gonna kill himself. Me and Jo should just shut up about it?"
"Yes!" Dean shouted back.
"No!" Sam roared.
Dean snorted, he knew this was exactly how Sam and Jo would react. "This is how we end Chuck, okay?! This is the only way we'll ever be free! So, I'm sorry, Sam! You don't get a choice! Jo doesn't get a choice! None of us get a choice!
Sam stared at Dean in disbelief, "us."
"Look, man..." Dean murmured.
"Stop! All right?! Just stop! Please!" Sam snapped.
Dean nodded his head slightly as he attempted to apologize, "I'm…sorry I didn't t..."
"Don't." Sam said as he held his hand up, he knew he couldn't talk to Dean now. "Don't. Don't. Just... Just drive. Just drive,"
Dean turned his attention back to the road in front of him and started Baby knowing he was in for a long drive.

Dean walked into the library to see Sam on the phone. They had made it back to the bunker a few days earlier and his brother was still giving him the silent treatment. Jo was a bit frosty when they got back but out of all of them Jo understood about making the most out of what little time you have, and they had hidden away in their room with Ami for some much-needed family time.
He watched as Sam finally hung up the phone, "that Cas?" He asked as his brother ignored him. "So that's how it's gonna be? You give me the silent treatment?"
"I'm not sure what you want me to say," Sam told him.
Dean sighed, "that you get it. Like, I said, killing Amara, Jack dying... that's the only way. Jo doesn't like it either, but she accepts it."
"'The only way,' 'our one shot', 'our last chance.'Do you ever get tired of saying stuff like that? And don't fool yourself that Jo accepts this either. She loves you and she realizes there's a good chance this is it and she wants to spend time with her husband and daughter it's not because she agrees with you."
Dean snorted, "gee thanks for that observation. Look we don't have to like it, alright, but we gotta get it done."
Sam went to argue back but stopped when he heard a noise coming from the kitchen and they both made their way there just as Jo and Lorna came rushing down the hall. The four hunters walked into the kitchen to see Amara getting herself a beer. Looking up she said, "Sam, Dean. We should talk."
SPNSPNSPN
Amara followed the two couples back to the library and stopped as Jack joined them with Ami in his arms. Amara stares at Jack for a few seconds before looking at the baby in his arms.
Dean placed a hand on Jo's arm when Amara walked over to Jack and Ami before shaking his head slightly when Jo turned and looked at him questioningly. Sighing she understood, we want her to trust us...so that means we have to trust her.
"She's a beautiful child," Amara murmured as she reached out and stroked Ami's cheek. "I can feel Michael's grace pumping through her like it pumps through her mother and Jack," she told them as she stood next to Jack and turned to look at the others.
Jo licked her lips as she explained, "he fed his grace to me while I was pregnant."
"I know...I saw," Amara admitted.
"Saw...what do you mean?" Dean asked in confusion.
"I may have left but I still watched you Dean, I saw you accept Michael and being used as his sword to defeat Lucifer. I saw him break his promise and continued to use you as his vessel and used you both to create a vessel especially for him."
Dean swallowed as he shared a look with Jo before shaking off that nugget of information and asked, "so?"
"My brother has returned. That means it's time." She told them.
"Did he contact you?" Sam asked as the dread of the situation settled in the pit of his stomach.
"He's made himself known. How do you intend to cage him? When God caged me, he had four archangels. Do you have four archangels?"
Dean stood a little more determinedly as he looked over at Jack. "Nope. We got one Jack."
Amara smiled at her great nephew sadly. "I wish we'd gotten to know one another. That's my fault. Maybe when all of this is over, we can?"
"He's been juicing himself up, getting stronger," Dean said quickly so nobody could contradict Amara.
Jack bounced Ami slightly when she began to fuss before saying, "but I need to complete a final ritual."
"What do you need me to do?" His aunt asked softly.
SPNSPNSPN
Jack looked at Sam, Lorna, and Jo. Dean was walking his aunt out. Sighing he finally said, "you're angry with me."
"No, I'm not angry. I..." Sam struggled for the right words."
"You're disappointed?"
Sam shook his head sadly as he watches Jo walk over and placed her hand on the young man's shoulder while he felt Lorna slip her hand into his and he finally explained, "Jack, look... I wish you'd have been up front with us. But sacrificing your life for a cause... takes a lot of courage. I still think it's wrong, though."
Jack sighed as Jo squeezed his shoulder. They all looked over to the doorway as Dean joined them and announced, "alright, we're all set. Jack, why don't you get your stuff. I'm thinking we leave now; we'll make Santa Fe by tomorrow morning."
Jack nodded his head as he turned and handed Ami to Jo. The others watched as the young man quickly left to get ready for the final leg of his journey.
Sam cleared his throat once Jack was gone, "yeah um, I'm not coming."
Dean gapped at his brother in disbelief, "what?"
The younger Winchester snorted, "you and Jack got this covered."
"Chuck is back. You wanna take a knee?" Dean hissed.
"That's not what I'm doing," Sam argued.
"Wh..." started to shout before he huffed in understanding, "you don't even have any leads."
Lorna squeezed Sam's hand to try and get him to calm down as he snapped, "What do you have, Dean? Honestly?! What? Billie's sending you to Santa Fe to... to meet up with her mystery guest that's gonna perform the "final ritual," or whatever that is, and turn Jack into a suicide bomb?"
"Sam, you and me, we have to do this, it's in the book!" Dean shouted as he got his brother's face.
"Oh, Chuck's 'Death Book,' right? Come on, man! Blindly following orders?! Lying to Amara, sending her to her death? Does any of this feel right to you?!" Sam asked heatedly
Dean shook with anger, "it doesn't matter how we feel! You know what? Stay. Stay. But somebody's gotta be the grownup here."
"Yeah, well, someone has to keep fighting for Jack." Sam hissed.
"He knows what he signed up for!" Dean snapped.
Sam cocked his head slightly before saying softly, "last I checked, we don't give up on family."
"But he's not family!"Dean shouted in frustration, ignoring the hurt in Jo's eyes s as he plowed forward, "look I know how you all feel about the kid, okay. I care for him, too. I do. But he's not like you, Jo, or Ami. He's not like Lorna or Cas. He's just not." Dean said bluntly.
Jo sucked in a deep breath as she saw Jack standing in the doorway. Her heart broke when she saw the hurt in his eyes as he said, "I'm... I'm ready."
Dean looked at the others for a brief second before nodding his head, "well, then, let's hit the road. Just give me ten to grab some supplies."
The others watched at Dean stormed out of the room and Jack quickly followed as he headed towards the garage. Jo sighed as she turned to Sam, "do you really think you can find something?"
"I don't know but I'm not going to stop trying," he swore.
"Right," she said as she kissed Ami on her forehead before placing her in the playpen they had set up in the library. "Then you keep looking and I'm going with Dean and Jack," she told them.
"What?" he said as she looked at the baby currently chewing on her favorite stuff bunny's ear.
"I... Sam they both need me. I have to do this. I hate to ask but do you mind taking care of Ami?" Jo asked.
"Of course, we'll take care of her," Lorna told her friend before Sam could argue.
"Thank you," Jo said in relief as she gave Lorna a quick hug before heading towards the hallway, stopping in the doorway she turned and looked at her brother and said, "Sam... please...you have to find another way."
Sam nodded his head, "I'll try but I think we need more help...angelic help."
"You and Lorna keep trying to reach Cas, I'll contact Gabriel," Jo said as she gave him a reassuring smile before hurrying to the garage, stopping for a moment to grab her to go bag from their bedroom before joining Dean and Jack on their way to Santa Fe.
SPNSPNSPN
Dean walked up the Impala to see Jo and Jack leaning against his Baby. "Jo..."
Jo pushed herself off of the car as she stood before Dean, "don't. I'm going."
Dean looked at his wife and knew the way she stood that she was determined to go no matter what he said. So instead, he walked around and slid in behind the wheel of the car while Jo and Jack both climbed in for what probable was going to be a long and uncomfortable ride.
SPNSPNSPN
Dean listened as Jo spoke to Lorna to check on Ami as he snuck a look in the rearview mirror and saw Jack watching his lips and he said, "listen, Jack, I don't know what you heard back there, but..."
Jack gave Dean a weak smile, "you don't have to say anything. And... you don't need to be sorry. I'm not family…I'm not like Sam, Jo, Ami…or Lorna and Cas…I understand."
Dean couldn't say anything. Hearing Jack repeat what he had said felt like being kicked in the gut. He didn't need to turn his head to know Jo was watching him and he didn't think he could manage seeing the disappointment in her eyes.
SPNSPNSPN
Dean screwed the gas cap back on before looking up to see Jack in the station heading towards the bathroom. He walked around the car, getting back in just as Jo clicked off her phone. "Lorna?"He asked.
"Gabriel, he's going to the bunker to help Sam."
"Of course," Dean said as he looked at his phone.
Jo looked out the window and saw that Jack was busy picking out some snacks for their ride. "Dean, do you really think Jack is just expendable?"
Dean sighed as he slipped his phone back in his pocket. "Of course, not Jo. I care about him...it's just I can't do it again."
"Do what again?" Jo asked in confusion.
Dean closed his eyes and as he took a deep breath before saying, "I can't stand by like before and watch another child of mine die."
Jo's eyes widened in understanding as she quickly scooted over and enveloped Dean in her arms. "Why didn't you say anything? Tell us what you were feeling?"
"It's not like Sam and I ever really talked about what happened," he said as Jo pulled back and looked into his eyes.
"Honey…I…I understand where you're coming from…I do. I can even accept that we may not have another choice and Jack will sacrifice himself for all of humankind but if that is the final play…then he needs you more than anybody else because as much as Sam and Castiel believe they are his father figure they're not…you're the man he really sees as a father and he needs you."
Dean let Jo's words wash over him as the young man in question open the back door and slid in holding up a bag of pork rinds for Dean, "I thought you might be hungry."
Dean smiled as he said, "thanks Jack. We have a long ride until we hit Santa Fe so maybe you should try and get some shuteye."
SPNSPNSPN
The three stood before the storefront of a new age shop. Dean looked at Jack, "you sure this is the spot?"
The younger man nodded his head, "Billie said... this is where it ends."
"Great…the last step is entrusted with hippies," Jo quipped as she looked at the diner next store. "Okay I'm going into the diner to use the restroom and have some lunch."
"You're not coming in with us?" Jack asked in confusion.
Jo smiled as she reached up and carded her fingers through Jack's hair. "I'm right next door Sweetie if you need me but I think this is something you and Dean need to do together."
Dean nodded his head as he reached over and placed his hand on Jack's shoulder and said, "let's do this."
SPNSPNSPN
"Adam? The Adam?" Jo asked as Dean sat next to her and Jack sat across from them, a bag sitting on the table next to him.
"Yup," Dean said as he took a bite of the bacon cheeseburger Jo had ordered for him while Jack munched on the chicken fingers, she had ordered for him.
"And he's a hippie?" She asked in awe.
"Oh yeah him and his 'old lady'," her husband said as he eyed the bag next to Jack warily.
Jo noticed the way Dean kept looking at the bag and cleared her throat, "so what's in the bag?"
Jack looked with ketchup on his face and shrugged his shoulders, "Adam's rib."
Jo blinked several times as she turned towards Dean cocked her eyebrow questioningly.
Dean cleared his throat as he said, "it's true."
Jo scrunched her nose in disgust before asking, "please don't tell me you have to eat it."
Dean reached over and placed his hand over Jo and said, "I think we should finish our food and get going. We need to end this once and for all."
SPNSPNSPN
"The extra teething ring is in the freezer in the living room...okay...thank you again Lorna for taking care of Ami...we're almost home...yeah...right...see you when we get there." Jo said as she hung up the phone.
Dean looked into the rearview mirror and saw the way Jack held the bag in his hand. Swallowing he pulled over to the side of the road.
Jack frowned in confusion, "Dean we're almost home."
"I know but we need to talk, let's step outside for a minute," the older man said as he gave Jo a reassuring smile.
Jo turned and smiled at Jack, "it'll be fine."
Jack quickly nodded his head as he opened the door and followed Dean. He stood before the older man, "Dean it's okay."
Dean held his hand up, "stop. Hold up. What I said to Sam, you didn't need to hear that. Alright? Not now…not ever. Not with the weight that you're carrying for us, for this world. Jack... I don't know how to explain it, but what I found out about Chuck... it's like—it's like I wasn't alive. Not really. You know, like, my whole life I've never been free. But like, really free. But now... now me, Sam, Jo, and Ami…we've got a shot at living a life. Without all this crap on our backs. And that's…that's because of you. So, I…I….I wanted to say...no I need to say... Thank you, Jack. Thank you."
Jack took a deep breath and smile, "you're welcome."
"Good….okay," Dean said as he looked down at the phone in his hand and read the message that just came through.
Jack saw the pain etched in Dean's face. "it's time, isn't it?"
"It's time," he told him. He turned his head slightly as he saw Jo get out of the car to join them.
Dean watched as Jack gave Jo a sad smile as he opened the bag. "You'll tell Ami she was the best sister I ever could have."
"Of course," Jo cried as he turned the bag and let the rib drop into his open palm of his other hand.
Dean and Jo watched as Jack's eyes glowed gold and the bone disintegrated in Jack's hand.
"We need to go…now!" Jack commanded as Dean rushed forward to help him back into the Impala and get back to the bunker.
SPNSPNSPN
Dean and Jo helped Jack make his way down the corridors and Jo sighed when she saw Sam, Castiel and Gabriel rushing towards them. "Where's Lorna and Ami?" Jo asked she struggled under Jack's weight.
"I zapped them to Jody's place," Gabriel told her as he stared at Jack.
"Good," Dean said. He didn't want Ami anywhere near the bunker until this was over. "Are they ready? We need to get the kid in the room right now."
"Wait, wait... Dean... Dean, no. Listen!" Sam shouted as him and Castiel followed them down the corridor. "Billie is playing us."
Dean stopped short as he looked at his brother, "so, what, her plan's not gonna work?"
"No, it will work." Sam told him as he stood before him.
Dean went to rush by his brother, "then great."
"But listen, if Jack takes out God and Amara, it'll create a power vacuum that Billie will fill. This was all her power grab," Sam urged.
"Oh shit," Jo said at what Sam was telling them.
"Wait, Death wants to become God?" Castiel asked.
"As long as Chuck dies, I'm good." Dean said as he pushed past Sam and half carried, half dragged Jack with him.
"Okay, listen, just stop," Sam shouted as he stepped around and stood in front of Dean
"Get outta the way, Sam," the older Winchester said, surprised when Sam placed his hands on his chest. "What are you doing?!"
"I'm trying to make you listen," Sam reasoned.
"We don't have time! Jack already lit the fuse! We gotta go!" Dean snapped.
"You did what?" Castiel asked horrified.
"Sam, I'm not gonna ask you again," Dean warned.
"Dean, we should listen to what Sam has to say," Jo urged.
"Dean, please." Sam begged.
Dean looked between his wife and brother and saw the determination in their eyes and shook his head as he pulled his gun out and pointed it towards Sam and hissed, "move!"
"Dean, don't," Castiel said.
"Dean...what are you doing?" Jo cried.
"Move, Sam. Move!" Dean shouted.
"Dean, don't do this." Sam said as he eyed the gun his brother held on him.
"I don't want to do this, but this is everything!"
"No, it's not!" Sam cried.
"Get outta my way!" Dean said as he cocked his gun.
Jo gasped, "Dean…please...this isn't you!" She begged.
Sam saw the moment Dean turned his attention towards Jo and surged forward, quickly batting his brother's arm, causing the gun to tumble to the ground. Dean turned around punching his brother, causing him to go down before he retrieved his gun and rushing over pulling Jack away from Jo and started down the hall again, saying to Jack, "let's go, let's go."
Sam struggled to stand back up as he shouted, "Dean. No, Dean!"
Jo watched in horror as Sam jumped Dan from behind as Jack collapsed to the floor and Castiel rushed to Jack's side. Gabriel grabbed Jo by the arm and before she could say anything he transported her to Jody's.
"Gabriel what the Hell do you think you're doing?" She cried.
"Sorry Jo, I promised Dean back when he took those damn angel cuffs off that I would keep you and Ami safe and I'm keeping my promise."
"Jack and Dean need me dammit," Jo shouted.
Gabriel shook his head at his friend, "there is a better than good chance that none of them are coming out of there alive…that we are going to lose, and Ami deserves to have at least one of her parents with her if this does go south and this is the end for all of us don't you think."
Jo looked over at her daughter in the highchair happily playing with the plastic cups in front of her and swallowed the lump in her throat as she nodded her head and said, "you're right."
"I need to get back to help anyway I can." He told them before stepping over to Jody and giving her a tender kiss and said softly, "thank you for giving me the chance to be happy."
The woman all blinked as the arch angel suddenly vanished and they heard the flapping of wings. Jody took a shaky breath as she reached up and wiped away her tears as they realized everything in their lives hinged on what happened next in the bunker.

Dean struggled to push Sam off as Sam shouted, "wait! Stop! You gotta listen!"
Dean finally managed to shove Sam off of him as he looked over at Jack and Cas and cried out, "you guys go, go!"
Sam looked over towards the other two. "Jack, don't!"
"Sam, why not?" Cas asked as he held Jack up.
"Because if Billie takes over, then everyone goes back to where they belong. That means everybody from apocalypse world, Bobby, Charlie, they get sent back to a place that doesn't exist anymore. And everyone we saved. And that's just the beginning." He told his brother.
Dean shook his head, which couldn't be true."Sam, we don't have a choice. Jack's about to blow!"
"We always have a choice. Dean...always," Sam reasoned.
"There's nothing else we can do, okay?! We just gotta get out of the way. Gabriel is with Jo and Ami, he'll protect them."
Sam shook his head violently, "no we can't get out of the way, Dean, not this time."
Dean grabbed his brother and shouted, "I don't care if Billie gets what she wants! I don't, man! I'd trade it all…I'd trade everything for Chuck in a heartbeat!
Sam stared at his brother and asked, his voice husky with sorrow. "What about me? Jo and Ami? Would you trade us…your family?"
Dean let out an anguished sob as he raised his gun back up towards his brother. "Chuck has to die! He has to! Otherwise, he'll keep us tap dancing forever. He'll just keep playing with us…with Jo and Ami for his sick amusement. I can't live like that, man! I can't live like that, and I don't want that for Jo or Ami! I won't!
Sam didn't try to stop his tears as he said, "I know you feel like that right now, okay. I know you do. But you gotta trust me. My entire life, you've protected me…. from Dad, from Lucifer, from everything. I didn't always like it, you know, but... it's the one thing in the whole world that I could always count on. It's the only thing I've ever known that was true and it's how I know Jo and Ami will always be able to count on you. So please... put the gun away. Just put it away, and we'll figure it out, Dean, we'll find another way, you, and me. We always do and now we have the rest of our family to help us. Trust in me…trust in us…please."
Dean bowed his head as he lowered his gun and allowed Sam to pull him in for a fierce hug. The pull apart when they heard the distinct sound of wings flapping and saw Gabriel suddenly appear.
Dean sniffles as he turned towards the angel and asked, "Jo and Ami?"
"Their safe together with Lorna and Jody." He told them.
Dean opened his mouth to ask where he had them hidden but stopped when the door to the storeroom was blown off its hinges and Chuck came out alone. He took a moment to look at Dean and Sam before sighing in disgust and said, "are you kidding me?! After everything, all that, you...you did it again!"
Cas looked beyond Chuck into the empty storeroom and ask, "where's Amara?"
"Amara. Amara. She's in here somewhere," he taunted.
"What, you consumed your sister?" Cas said in disgust.
Chuck shrugged his shoulders as he explained, "we came to an understanding, so spare me your contempt, Castiel, the self-hating angel of Thursday. You know what every other version of you did after 'gripping him tight and raising him from perdition'? They did what they were told. But not you. Not the "one off the line with a crack in his chassis." All of you. You know, I tried, and I tried and I tried, but you're all just too stupid, too stubborn. Too broken. My own son betrayed me…Gabriel standing with who herald I the savior I sent know what? I'm over it. I'm over you…all of you."
Gabriel snorted as he stood before Chuck and sneered, "screw you Dad!The only one broken in this room is you!You may have created us, but you can't control us and that just pisses you off and you know why…because you're nothing but a pathetic child having a tantrum because your toys aren't working the way you want them , guess what I'm over you!"
Sam nodded his head in agreement and said, "yeah!"
"Couldn't say it better myself…screw you, Chuck!" Dean hissed.
Chuck glared at them as he snapped, "no, screw you. You know what you do with broken toys? You throw them out. So, kill each other, don't kill each other... I don't care."
"What do you mean?" Cas asked.
Chuck lifted his hand, pointed towards Jack, and gloated, "I mean... have fun watching him die but first…"
The others watched in horror as Chuck snapped his fingers and suddenly Jo, Ami, Jody, and Lorna were standing with them and he said, "didn't want the ladies to miss the show."
The others watched as he reached out before anyone could stop him and placed the palm of his hand on Gabriel's forehead and the room was flooded with white light before the archangel's vessel collapsed to the ground.
"See you guys around," Chuck said before he disappeared.
The group didn't have a second to react to their fallen friend before they heard Jack calling out for turned and called out, "Jack."
"Help me!" The young Nephilim cried.
The others rushed over to help and watched in horror as Jack's eyes glowed gold, and they saw golden light breaking through cracks in his skin.
Dean sucked in a ragged breath as he shouted, "Jack!"

A/N Yup sorry Gabriel fans on killing our favorite archangel. I couldn't see keeping him alive without messing up the last three 'episodes' so sorry people.
Also sorry about Dean seeming a little OOC here but I always felt that his character even on the show was OOC and was almost 'possessed' thanks to being used as pawn by Billie.
Thank you,
Val
