Hellos! Honestly, the reaction from last chapter were much more tame than I expected. Eh. I guess can't pull off heart wrenching. Hopefully this chapter won't be too boring or confusing for that matter. I do feel like it's necessary. It'll make sure questions are answered. Let's delve into everybody's thoughts, shall we? Just a note, each person has written at a different time from each other. However, for each individual's entries go chronologically. Some diaries compliment the others. Like a puzzle. I just realized... Ugh... time skips.
Chapter 8
Dear Diary,
Mommy says I should write about what I do, cause I have lots of free time. Okay. Umm. My name is Anna! I am a princess! Umm. I don't know what else to say. Right now, I'm waiting for Rammie! He's my best friend! Just like Elsie! They are my favoritest people in whole wide world! Um. Elsie said Rammie will come back soon. So I'm waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. Rammie super awesome! He super strong, super fast, and super smart because he made Elsie not sick because of his awesomeness! Wow. That's a big word. Awesomeness. He also calls me An-chan which makes me super happy because he says it's only for good friends and cute people. So that means I'm a good friend and so is Elsa because he calls her Sa-chan! Oh yeah! Today was Elsie's birthday! I don't know why, but she seem sad. Me and Rammie couldn't find Elsie a present. So I went to Rammie's room and looked through his stuff. I found a really pretty necklace. It's purple and shiny. I guess Rammie forgot he had it. Umm. We're friends so it's okay that I give the necklace for Elsie's birthday. Elsie gave a really really really big smile when I gave it to her! She put it on and she looked super pretty! She asked me where I got it and I said Rammie, then she asked where Rammie got it. I bet he borrowed it from a temple. Rammie tells me all different stories of what he did with his daddy. I can't wait until he comes back home! Umm. Elsie made a weird face when I said Rammie gave it. It's like she stared at me, one eyebrow is up and the other one is down and her lips are in a straight line. It looks funny. Okay! I think I'm done!
Mommy read what I wrote. She says not to write 'um' and not too much of what I'm think. Only what happens. I didn't know that. She also says that even though we're friends, I have to ask Rammie if I could give the necklace. She says it's okay for now and that I should tell Rammie when he comes back. So he won't be mad.
Daddy also read it too. He smiled funny, like it's not a real one.
Dear Diary,
Rammie's not back! It's been a longgggg time now. Elsie said he will come back soon, but soon is too long! Elsie seemed sad. This makes me sad too. Oh and it's snowing! Now we can build a snowman! I asked Elsa if she wanted to. She made another weird face, this time it's like she's really really sad but wants to be happy. She said okay though. So first, I rolled a chunk of snow it's not a perfect ball but it's okay! I told Elsie to go get things for the button and the nose and that I would make the body of the snowman. She smiled and said all right. Elsie came back with the things and I told her to close her eyes. I put the carrot, coal, and sticks on. I made Olaf! I told Elsie to look and she did. She looked and couldn't say a word. I don't know why, but her smile disappeared. I wanted to make smile so I threw a snowball, I hit her hand and her glove fell off. Elsie stared at her hand. Her eyes were really really big. She looked scared. I started to shiver, it was super cold. Then Elsie ran into the castle.
Now I'm sad.
Dear Diary,
Elsie's sick again! She's stuck in her room for like three months and won't go out! I'm really worried. I'm gonna check on Elsa everyday to see if she's okay! And bored. I miss Rammie to play with. Also, I think there's ghosts in the castle. I'm scared. Sometimes I have to go to mommy and daddy's room to sleep with them. Mommy says ghosts aren't real and it's just my imagination. But it's not!
Two months ago, Alfred finally could move from the sick place. His face looks scary now. He walks slow and weirdly and he's always mad. I don't like this. The marks in the hall are still there. I don't like going through that hall, it's also scary. Where is Rammie?
Dear Diary,
I don't understand anymore. Father and mother won't explain why Elsa cannot or will not go out of her room. It's just... just so frustrating! The only time I would see her is for seconds when she goes to her classes with her tutors. I would call her name out but she doesn't even glance at me! My sister... what's wrong with my sister!? I mostly spend my time reading books, taking my classes, and daydreaming. Daydreaming is great. Just let your mind wander and take it somewhere mystical. Like, a prince. A prince that sweeps me off my feet and take me across the Earth. We would laugh together. We would sing together. We would cry together. We would cook together. We would love together. Who wouldn't want their true love to come and cherish them forever? Someone who would always have their door open.
Dear Diary,
They're gone. I... I... can't take this.
Dear Diary,
I want to shout, scream, and yell at Elsa. I want yell about how this is unfair! Why does she still shut me out! Why? It's been so many years! She's throwing away her life! At the very least, she could say something. Just one word. One word from behind her closed door. Just a word of comfort. Just open the door. We're sisters! Please Elsa! I've tried so hard to get a reply, I guess, I should stop trying.
1
Hi, my name is Ruby. At school they want us to write about our lives. So that's what this is. I don't know much to say. Well. I'm an orphan, and I have never seen the faces of my parents. I have red eyes and kids bullied me because of that. They call me a 'witch.' I guess I am, in a way. They used to bully me everyday until Ranma came and protected me. It was the best time of my life! To have someone care for me. I met him before, he had given me a piece of lamb. Now he gives me parts of his lunch so I can eat. He also taught me to exercise myself so I'm not too weak. It's fun! Ranma's an orphan too, he said his dad and mom are gone. The other kids tried to bully him too because he was from another country, but Ranma beat them up! Ranma's so strong. Did you know? Ranma lives in the castle! He says he talks with the royal family everyday. I wish I could do that. This morning, I saw Ranma come but then a bunch of kids started to shout at him. I don't know what they said but I saw him become sad then run away. I've never seen him act like that.
2
I hate people. I hate them! I... I hate myself! Ranma never came back and now they're picking on me again! Why won't the teachers help me? Why won't the King do anything about this? It's not fair! I'm not going to cry about this. No, Ranma told me tears are useless. I'm going to train myself. They're going to regret this. There's a small library in the school, maybe there's something there that can help me.
3
I don't have to write in this paper anymore. While I have no reason to, I'll keep this to write every once in a while. Why do I have no reason to? They kicked me out. I will not explain why. I'm going to get money so I can get out this place. I'm going to get a job and work.
4
Well. This sucks. Looks like I wasn't careful enough. The conditions and food here is so much worse than the orphanage.
5
So, I heard the King and Queen is dead. I don't really care. I remember how much I cared about the royal family when I was younger. Not anymore. What have they done to help me? Even with them gone, life's pretty much the same. Really speaks how much they care about us. They wouldn't understand us.
The state of affairs of Arendelle has been deemed far above adequate. War is exceedingly unlikely. We have a constant flow of revenue and trade; this, fortunately, creates a positive relationship among each of trading nations. Within the humble Kingdom, thanks to a recent capture, There are few squabbles, no illnesses threatening the welfare of my people, random fires ceased, and my heirs are... relatively well. In this harmonious time, my wife and I will be travelling to a nearby kingdom. We will return in three months.
My daughters are Anna and Elsa. It is extraordinary to have daughters with such stark differences. Even more extraordinary to have a daughter with powers involving cryokinetics. Despite… challenges… I am proud to have such a daughter. Unfortunately, with the unexpected comes inexperience. I have no knowledge of containing her growing powers. I have little time to search through the grand archives. I prefer keeping the awareness Elsa's unique abilities to a minimum, therefore I will not have my subjects research the peculiarity. Regrettably, no matter how much Iduna and I coax Elsa, she refuses to exit the confines of her room for any more than a few moments. We had the greatest breakthough with the mantra: 'Conceal don't feel.' I remember a boy. He was a foreigner from the Eastern lands. An energetic boy, full of mirth and innocence. I... cannot recall his name. However, his actions will always stay with me. The Eastern boy was able to coax Elsa out her room when she was younger. For months, I remember the merry laughter of three children. My dear Elsa, she was not afraid anymore. He entertained Anna. He brought smiles to my staff. I recall there was an incident, the memory will be ingrained in the walls of this castle. Then he left.
I hold hope for my daughters. In Corona there was hearsay of magic. Perhaps when we are finished with the diplomacy, we can visit the kingdom then return.
-Agnarr, King of Arendelle
Hmph. Pop's gave me a piece of paper to write on. Just a single one. He said it's to keep me brain 'sharp' or, write about his bloody legacy. Screw that. Screw him. I don't know how to feel or what to think. Pop has been raising me to be a martial artist. And I do want to be one. The best. But why? To protect the weak right? How. How do we protect the weak when we steal, con, and lie? For the past several years, I have been training every, single, day. I nearly died, I should've died many times over. Pop taught me how Anything Goes works, analyze the opponents' style and make it your own. Is that honorable? I don't know what is. What Pop's been teaching me is the aerial style of Anything Goes, be very quick and nimble. Watch and wear out your opponent, make a strategy and bring them down. He said there is also a ground style and that's why we're heading to Japan. To unite the schools or whatever. On our path, we met a few people with magic powers, it was pretty cool fighting them. They don't seem too rare. Not sure what Sa-chan was too worried about. Looked pretty cool. Then again, she's a girl so she wouldn't fight with her powers anyways. You know. Pop's never let us settle down anywhere so I don't have lots of friends. I can count my friends with one hand...
/
Stupid Pops. The damn slob just told me that we have traveled back in time. That... that should've been obvious. I feel like a fool for not realizing sooner. Anyways, my idiot father figured out that there was no such thing as Nerima at this time. He finally spilled his plan. Something about a magic mirror that lets us go to the present. I beat pops up. Yea, I can spar pretty evenly with the old man. He's probably holding back some special techniques but whatever. Anyways, now we're heading back to China. I hate swimming. Screw it.
/
I. HATE. CHINA.
Day 1
Dear dia... No wait just a second. What kind of man has a diary. I should just cover that up. I have no idea why I wrote it in the first place. In fact, explaining myself would be a waste of paper and ink and those are valuable. Right. This is a journal. A journal about the epic journey of Genma Saotome. Heh. I have decided to document the training of my boy, I'm sure in this primitive era we will become famous. I'm sure people will pay grand amounts of money for this humble and fine reading.
As stated, My name is Genma Saotome of the Saotome clan from Japan. My wife, Nodoka Saotome, has permitted me to train our son, Ranma Saotome, in the ways of Anything Goes Martial Arts. I made a proposal with my dear friend and partner, Soun Tendo, long ago. We promised our offspring to each other to unite the school. My style and his style combined would be devastating. Of course, people would flock to the dojo my son would make and bring in money. Travelling back in time and getting captured was a slight setback. No matter, the master has shown me the magic of the Nanban mirror. I plan to return to Japan and retrieve the artifact. I'm not sure where to find it or if the master still has it. Yes, master Happosai exists during this time. Bah. If we cannot return back to our time, perhaps I can return here. My boy definitely has made an impression on those girls. If what I've seen is correct, those girls are princesses. Just marry him off and get all the riches. Simple. This journal is another back up plan, build up the legacy of Anything Goes and sell off the story of my... its greatness.
Today was the first day after I retrieved the boy. Oh what a shame to have such a pitiful son! He let himself get weak in the months of fine luxury. Do you know what I went through? The Frenchmen did take me to my death. They tried, but I was too skilled from them. Nothing can keep a martial artist bound! So, I suffered weeks of travel, I don't know how long, on slow dirty boat. They tried to demoralize me with little food and little water; they taunted me, abused me, and laughed at me. For once I appreciate the master's training. They reached the mainland one day. By that time I was recovered from my wounds. Let it be known, a master of the arts will never be crippled, I know and utilize the technique of quick healing. They took me to their castle and locked me in a prison. Delving in my vast varieties of skills, I valiantly broke out of the flimsy jail, disabled my captors, and escaped with no injuries. Ha! A small feat for a capable artist as myself.
So, what did I do for the few months before I found my wayward son? I fearlessly used the Saotome Secret Technique: Fast break. No, I will not explain what that is. Using my exceptional intellect, I escaped the French. I explored the old European lands, borrowing food, clothing, and some techniques from some rare exceptional fighters. Borrowed, I said. Did you know that the people there wouldn't accept my son's hand in marriage as payment?! Bah! This was first rate genes that originated from me! Anyway, one of those exceptional fighters I met was another Japanese man who had the ability to locate people by producing a ki wave. Strangely, that man disappeared within seconds. His name was Hibiki something. Anyways, I traveled through Europe back to the castle where my boy was slacking off at. I took my time. You see, like the cunning man I was, I knew the boy would bond well with the girls there. Most likely, I could offer the boy's hand in marriage without a hitch! I'm a genius! Hm, the rest of my travels were fairly... trivial.
When the boy first saw me, his face went through many different phases of emotion. I noted the show of surprise, anger, sadness and little fear. And must I admit, I felt a bit proud as a father when I saw happiness. That happiness was quickly squandered as he called me a ghost. Foolish boy! A man like me isn't that weak! I explained the story to him and he accepted it. He begged to return to the castle. I refused of course, distance does make the heart grow fonder. Hmph. The boy tried to fight me about it. Needless to say, I beat the boy, called him a few names, and denied him food. You know, basic parenting. I told the boy that we were going back to Japan. He seemed a little hesitant and asked about his mother, dear Nodoka. Foolish boy, doesn't know we traveled back in time. Like a good father, I told him she was dead. To his credit, he didn't cry. We began our journey and the training started once more. Who else could be a better sensei than modest ol' me?
Day 11
The boy was very quiet during our trek east so I tried to cheer him up with the pack of wolves I found. It worked better than I expected. Rather than slacking, the boy was up and about running. I decided to be of assistance and let him carry me on his back as he ran. I kindly directed the boy where to run. I am proud to say, I found an extremely effective manner for increasing strength and speed. The boy complained but I told him to remember: The path of the martial artist is wrought with peril! The boy and I developed a simple schedule. Wake, spar, eat, travel, train, eat, then sleep. I have yet to teach any techniques; still focusing on the foundation of speed, strength, and reflexes.
Day 42
We're still in the European lands. I do know where we're heading. Training with the master developed a keen sense of navigation. It was crucial for our health to know which towns we've been to. The wrath of raging women is something I wish to avoid. The boy is improving at a higher rate now. I still neglect teaching him any advanced techniques. Currently, he's slightly stronger than the 'average' athletic adult but nowhere near he should be as an martial artist. I must admit, his speed is better than it was when I was his age. Remember the cursed diamond that is stuck to the boy? Well, I had a genius idea. The boy and I would go to towns and find some vendors specialized in gems. I would get the boy to give the diamond to the seller and they would be wide eyed and checking it. The diamond is real, of course. They would then buy it for a hefty sum then we would walk out the town. In no time, the gem's back in the boy's pocket. Heheh. My genius knows no bounds! Unfortunately, some vendors were suspicious that we stole it. Honestly, I'm borrowing the diamond for an undefined amount of time. They would call the guards of the town and the guards would confiscate the gem. The gem would disappear and appear back in the boy's pocket. Then the guards would throw us in a cell. Anything is training! Remember that! ANYTHING. I had the boy make a strategy to get out the cell. And we would escape. This trained the boy's stealth, speed, and quick thinking. After the fourth successful con, the boy demanded me to stop. Something about morals and ethics. We fought. I had a fuller stomach that night.
Day 44
You know, I've been thinking. As we know, I, Genma Saotome, is a man of unfathomable intelligence. I thought of the plan of returning back to the present. By us being in the past right now, would that change the future? Having the Hope Diamond right now would mean our future selves had no Diamond to get in the first place. That would mean these events would not happen and we shouldn't exist at the moment. Well, we're existing right now. Or what if I killed the dreaded master in this time? He would cease to exist in the future, meaning that Soun and I would never meet or get trained. In fact, I would not have met dear Nodoka! Ranma would not exist and I wouldn't be stuck in this past. Perhaps killing the master is a plan I should abandon. Bah! Time travel!
Day XX
Today we came upon a lone boy. He tried to attack us and take our belongings. He knew little about combat and Ranma beat him swiftly as I watched. Once beaten, I expertly helped the lone boy lighten his pack. He knew magic! As I touched his body, he woke up and I got shocked by lightning coming from the boy's fingers. He got away as I was stunned. Needless to say, I shamed the boy about knocking people out. Hit them harder! Oh what a shame to have a weak boy! I have decided not to keep the date. My priorities are set elsewhere than mere numbers.
Day XXX
What a nuisance. The boy's gem attracts all sorts of trouble. Bears, wolves, bees, ambushes, fire, and other annoying things. Today I learned squirrels are able to organize into a battalion. I honestly do not understand how nuts could come up in my undergarments. Hmph. The boy's wounds heal too slow for my liking. I suppose I will teach him the healing technique. Unfortunately, this will delay our travels to Japan. But it is about time the boy learns the damn technique. Hopefully there isn't anybody around for the screams.
Day XXX
Am I a terrible father? To let his son, scream in pain? To leave him unconscious? To offer no kind words or a smile? To hear curses upon my name and the gods? To watch the fires cackle at his own feet? No. All this is for the path of a martial artist. This technique will make him in-scarrable and unyielding to blunt forces and minor gashes. The boy will be grateful. He will thank me. In this time, I notice there are much more magic users than in the future. These people were born with it. I don't recall anything like these powers on my travels in modern Japan. Perhaps this is not time travel at all. Perhaps we have come to a different world.
Day XXX
Ah. Back at home. Well, home in the sense of familiarity. Hm, if it is indeed in the past, Nerima has yet to exist as a ward. And if he could recall, about this time, the master should be in China! Damnit! In fact, the master had said he borrowed the mirror from the amazons near Jusenkyo. Ah. Jusenkyo, perhaps they could take some time there. After all, it was a legendary training area. This meant going back to Japan was a pointless endeavor. Ah well, swimming across oceans is great training for endurance! Speaking of training, I found my pride as a father to see my son progress well. Sure, he's not close to level but it's extremely rewarding for a man like me see his son grow. His natural abilities are far above the par of an average man. Now it's time to push further and introduce the aspects of Ki. There are bound to powerful techniques in China. Not to mention the powerful ones, created by yours truly.
Day XXXX
Bah! Plan B it is.
Let's just say this... China was a mess.
Dear Diary,
Ranma's gone. The only person who really understood me is gone. He left without taking his belongings. Was he mad? Why would he be mad? He's just disappointed with himself, right? Another curse, neko-ken, took control of him and he changed. Apparently, he became like an extremely dangerous cat. Except, he wasn't dangerous. He... snuggled with me. It was completely uncalled for, but... it was comforting. But he must have been, the destroyed walls tell their story. He left because he could not live with himself? I heard about the destroyed markets and saw Alfred's wounds. He left because of that? What does that say about me? Ranma's so strong, if he failed to deal with his curse, how can I deal with mine? Surely... like father said, he will come back.
Dear Diary,
What is wrong with me? Anna goes to the door everyday, at the same time. Every time, she would knock. Three times. She would call my name questionably 'El-sa?'. Then ask me to come out and play. I give no reply. Instead, every single time, I would bury my head in my pillows. I have to, to block out the crying. This is for her own good. Anna will understand later in her life. Eventually she would leave, her footsteps rapidly retreating, her sobs echoing through the air.
Then the rest of the day is to myself. I would go to my classes, lessons with Hilda and lessons with Alfred. Alfred can teach again but his scarred body is a distraction. He is crippled and needs assistance to walk. Then I would go back to the safety of my room. I would entertain myself with books, play the violin and then do some stretches. Once everyday, after dinner, Mother and Father would come in the room and get me to practice my magic. Why do they bother? I hurt father twice already. He almost attained frostbite. I will never take off these gloves again. But they still come and try. There are many stains in my room, all caused by my melting ice. Some of my books have been ruined and the carpets had to be changed a few times. Gerda once gotten sick from my cold room during my lessons. Understand how dangerous my magic can be?
Dear Diary,
Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show. Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show. Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show. Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show. Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show. I need a new room now...
Dear Diary,
Do I want to be a Queen?
Present day:
"Happy Birthday Elsa." Anna whispered through the closed door. She leaned her cheek on the cool, smooth surface, she struggled to hear the . Yet again, there was no response except for the barely audible shuffling of clothing. It has been so many years. So many years locked up in a castle. So many years being told 'no' when she wanted to go. So many years behind a shut door.
But! She knew this was all going to change. If she learned anything from her lessons, Elsa will be becoming Queen. That would mean for at least one day, the gates were going to open. She couldn't wait.
AN: I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I would say this is the perfect way to fill in a heck of a long timeskip! It's a pretty long one, 12 years-ish... Maybe I should tweak their ages so it'll be a little less. But does that really matter?
You know... this has some potential to mix in some x-men stuff. Eh... nah.
Originally, this chapter was soley going to be Genma's thoughts to explain things, that's why it's the longest. Then I had the brilliant idea to have entries for other characters! I really hope this wasn't boring. Because I worry about your boredom, I'll give you two of the ideas I had for this fic but had them discarded.
You guys have no idea how fun it was to write young Anna's diary entries. I can practically hear her chirping and cheering in my head as I wrote.
Discarded Ideas!
Russian Shampoo! Amazon warrior originating in the isolated cold Russian lands. Being the top warrior of her group, when she reached the age of 16, she was sent with the quest of retrieving the Hope Diamond from opposing nations. Blonde, bubbly and deadly, she traveled across the European lands in the hunt for the sacred gem using her extraordinary tracking skills. Finally, she zones in the kingdom of Arendelle. (I have no idea whether it should be before, during or after Frozen canon) She pops in while Elsa, Anna and Ranma were getting a treat.
"Aye! Shampoo know you has jewel!"
"What? What are you talking about?"
The blonde narrowed her eyes. The boy was obviously lying, she could see the beads of sweat appearing on the boy's head. The boy's left hand was fidgeting nervously near the pocket of his pants. Obviously that was where it is.
"Little boy! Shampoo know vhere it is! Do not lie."
"R-really?"
"Shampoo no stupid. Take off your pants!" She gestured to article of clothing. She sneered haughtily, there it was. After so long.
"What." A new voice cut in. Frosty and sharp. On the side, Elsa stood, watching the events. She had been observing what had been happening since that blonde bimbo and her twin axes destroyed the ice cream stand they were going to. At first, she thought the Russian teen was looking for Hope Diamond Ranma had. Obviously not. It was the 'other' jewel in his pants. Elsa slowly pulled her right glove off. The temperature in the air started to decrease rapidly.
Anna was next to Elsa. Her face impressively matched her natural hair. She slowly inched away from the scene.
"I want ze jewel!" She gestured to Ranma's pants once more. She stalked closer, grinning eagerly at her soon-to-be successful mission. "Take off pants!"
Ranma started to blush badly. She didn't mean that right? No, she couldn't. It was the diamond she was talking about. Ranma hesitantly reached in his pockets and pulled it out. To his relief, the girl's eyes followed the diamond and she grinned fervently.
"Here!" Ranma called out. He tossed the diamond up in the air. It sparkled brightly under the sun. Shampoo jumped gracefully to catch it. Her nimble body flew through the air, her arms widened, and she clasped the diamonds with both her hands. Finally! Her eyes widened as, to her despair, she felt the diamond disappear instantly in her hand. She landed gracefully on the cobble ground. She turned her head to the Eastern boy. The diamond was back in his hand.
Her eyes flashed dangerously and she bared her teeth. The foreigner must die! With a cry of battle, she launched herself at the boy. Her twin axes flashed in the sunlight as they were raised above her head in attack. As a response, Ranma tensed and moved into a steady stance, his eyes narrowed as the girl flew through the air towards him. Finally, a fight!
Suddenly, the blond girl was encased in ice. Ranma turned his head questioningly to Elsa. Her determined face melted to a pleased one as she observed her achievement. With a cheery smile, she said, "Nobody can have your jewels but me!"
I was planning to have Shampoo return to her homeland and report the failure of her mission. She would then return for Ranma's hand in marriage. Because if the Diamond chose to stay with him, he must be a worthy man. Or something like that. :3
Why was this idea discarded? Well, I really did not want to develop this Shampoo as a character. She would probably have this one scene and that would be it. She would have little relevance to the plot I have in mind.
Another idea I had was to have Ranma cursed by the magical trolls rather than Jusenkyo.
"Come on boy! Learn the damn technique already!" Genma Saotome shouted. How hard could this be? The instructions were pretty clear: Tie the student up against a tree, tie some rocks with some rope, then have the rocks slam into the boy until he could break the rock with a single touch. Well, he had that set up perfectly. The darn boy is just too stupid to learn it. He cried, "Ah what a shame to have a pitiful son!"
His only reply was a pained grunt. Ranma was currently broken and bruised from the many rocks that slammed into him. They were so close to the castle! But then Pops just had to make him learn the stupid Bakusai Tenketsu skill he got from a man from Japan. They wouldn't move on unless he learned it.
"All right." His father said. "That's enough for today." The man untied the ropes binding Ranma. Once the ropes were loose enough, Ranma limply fell off the tree and unceremoniously landed on the hard ground. "Weak boy." Genma muttered.
Two hours later, Ranma could be found moodily trekking up the tree filled mountain. He grumbled angrily to himself as he walked. His grumblings stopped as reached a strange clearing. It was a stone area littered with rocks the size of his head. He sighed as it reminded him of his failed training. He walked dejectedly over to one of the smaller rocks and loomed over it. "'Find the weak point'" He recited from the scroll. He analyzed the small stone, looking for any sign of the proposed 'weak point.' Frustrated at not finding anything, he blindly jabbed a finger at the rock while shouting out "Bakusai Tenketsu!" His face lit up brightly as the rock shattered into tiny pebbles; some of the pebbles stung his feet.
"I DID IT!" He cheered. He threw a fist in the air triumphantly. His victory dance was interrupted by the deafening gasp surrounding him. The gasp came from multiple sources.
"He killed Rubel!" One the voices cried out in terror.
"Get him!" Several other voices shouted.
Ranma stood frozen in shock as dozens of rocks shifted and changed to another form. They were about the same size as their original rock form but now had distinguishable stubby arms, feet, noses, and ears. This was all Ranma could process before they jumped and pounded on his body.
Ranma woke groggily. His entire body groaned at the slightest bit of motion. Fortunately, he could feel his injuries quickly healing. He was bound by a tight rope-like grass; it was unexpectedly resilient. His eyes fluttered opened and gave him a view of a stone face. It spoke.
"You are not normal." It said. 'It' had bushy green 'hair' made of moss. It wore glowing yellow gemstones and a mossy green cloak around its stone body. "You should not be alive." It continued. It stared impassively at him. Around Ranma, he could hear other voices muttering to each other. He assumed them to be similar to the thing above him.
A new voice yelled. "Punish him Pabbie! Rubel is dead because of him!"
Ranma mumbled, "How was I supposed to know that that rock was alive..."
The rock, Pabbie spoke once again dryly, "Humans should not be able to blast apart rocks." Pabbie sighed deeply and placed his hands above Ranma's head and closed his eyes. Ranma's eyes widened as he saw a mist appear. Within the mist, he could see parts of his life flash by. Pabbie spoke, "You have a dark, mysterious magic controlling you. We trolls fear these dark magics. We would prefer to avoid such maliciousness. However, the death of one our dear family members has brought upon new circumstances. I shall punish you accordingly."
Ranma grunted. Did they want to fight? He wouldn't be surprised this time. He could probably break out of his bindings now.
"From what I have seen, you are arrogant, ignorant and naive. I have a curse that will suit you well." Pabbie's hand started to glow mysteriously. Ranma widened in alarm and a burst of adrenaline allowed him to tear through the grass and get up. This did not stop the arriving curse.
A female scream pierced the air.
Doing this would bring tenseness between Ranma and Kristoff.
Why was this idea discarded? This was originally what I had planned for Ranma since chapter two, I was going to go along with this until I thought about some complications with the plot. I wanted Ranma and his father to actually goto China, for reasons that will be found later.
