Chapter 11
I'm never going back, the past is in the past. Let it go...
Elsa sat near an icy window overlooking the mountains, drinking the views of peacefully clean sheets of snow and the setting sun. She had never felt so at ease in a while. Here, she was able to control her powers and let it go. It felt so liberating to be free from, well, other people. Nobody to judge her, nobody to shun her, and nobody to… talk to her. She sighed. She made Olaf but she had no idea where in the world the the snowman went. What was she going to do by herself anyways? She started to idly twirl her hand, causing wisps of snow to appear above her hand. Elsa continued to stare listlessly out the window. Did she bring this on to herself? The hiding, the fear and the isolation throughout her entire childhood. Well not her entire childhood, her thoughts traveled back ten years ago.
"Elsa!" She she heard from outside the castle. She got up from her position at the window in shock and tried to look for the source. She couldn't find the source. She proceeded to go the entrance to ward off who ever the visitor was, stopping her hand twirling, and she left the room. On the window sill was an ice statue of a grinning little boy with a ponytail in a fighting pose.
"I was just wondering." Anna said while cradling a frog in one arm and picking up winter dresses in other. "Has another young woman, I don't know, the Queen perhaps-I don't know- pass through here?"
The large Norwegian(?) shopkeep peered at Anna, then his eyes fell to the frog in Anna arms.
"Oh, I'm sorry." The man said, his hands were clasped together and rested on the wooden counter. "We do not allow pets here."
"Hm? What?" Anna stammered confusedly.
"Ribbit."
"Ah! Oh! Nononono!" Anna denied. "He's not a pet. He's, he's a friend of mine."
The shopkeeper eyes travelled up to Anna's shakey face, then back down to the frog in her arms, and then back up to Anna once more.
"Ribbit."
Mumbling to herself, she said, "pretty sure in the story, the frog could talk…" Out loud she said, "I know you don't believe me but, uh, you know the story? You know, the Princess and the Frog?"
One large bushy gray eyebrow hiked up.
"Well, you see." Anna continued with a jittery smile. "There's a frog. No wait. I mean there's a prince that's cursed to be a frog." She jerked her head to the frog in her arms.
"Ribbit." The large bushy gray eyebrow hiked up even higher.
"So, this frog here is the prince turned to a frog." Anna rambled. "Well I guess he's not really a prince. Actually he isn't a prince at all. Or. Maybe he is and just never told me. Huh… Ranma," She addressed the frog, "are you a prince from the East?"
"Ribbit."
"Heh heh," she chuckled, "So you see, the Princess-which is me- is supposed to kiss the frog and then, you know, like mom always says, 'they live happily ever after'!"
"Look dear," The large shopkeeper said as he brought his two hands up under his chin. "I do believe the cold has gotten to yer head." He gestured his hand to the frog and Anna. "The only one crazy," He stretched and emphasized 'crazy' quite a lot, "to be out here in this weather is you dear."
"Ding ding!" A little bell by the shopkeeper's head rang and the door opened to reveal a man in thick, snow covered, clothes. Anna could make out two brown eyes underneath blond hair. He had a stubby nose sticking out his hat and scarf.
"You and this fellow. Yoo hoo! Big summer blow out!" The shopkeeper waved the little suntan bottle.
Anna spoke again, "So uh I'll just buy these and be on my way."
"Oh no, dear," The shopkeeper said. "You must stay here for the night. It's too dangerous for a young girl like you to be out there. Look at what gotten into yer head."
The man who entered the shop ignored the ongoing conversation and towered above Anna near the counter. He mumbled something.
"Huh what?"
"Carrots." The man said clearer.
"What?"
"Behind you."
"Oh. Oh! Yea." Anna moved to the side.
The man reached under the counter to pull out the carrots and toss it on the table. As he did, the shopkeeper gestured to Anna and in the same way he said 'Yoo Hoo,' he said, "Coo coo!" as he twirled his hand around his ear.
"Now that's just rude!" Anna cried indignantly.
"Ribbit!"
"A frog…?" The man eyed Anna strangely.
"Nono." The shopkeeper jutted in with a shake of his head, "Her prince." Anna cringed as the man backed away from her. "So, a real howl in July, ya?" The shopkeeper said conversationally, as the man hurriedly walked to the 'Winter Department' to grab a pick and rope. "Where are you coming from?"
"The North Mountain." Was the answer as he tossed the items beside the carrot.
"The North Mountain?" Anna said to herself. "I'm sorry, did you say, the North Mountain? Did it seem, let's say, magical, up there?"
"Yes and yes, frog lady. Now let buy my stuff." He placed himself between Anna and the shopkeeper.
"That will be forty, ya?" The shopkeeper said, gesturing to the carrots, rope and pickaxe on the table.
"Forty?" The shock was clear in his voice. "C'mon help a guy out, I only got ten!"
"You see, supply and demand makes the price of certain goods go up… and those are in the winter department." The shopkeeper said calmly. "Ten will get you these only." His thick hands pointed to the carrots.
"You crook!"
"Vat did you call me?" The insulted shopkeeper got up from his seat, exposing his monstrous size. Walking past the counter he picked up the retreating man, opened the door and threw him out into the thick snow. The burly man sat back down behind the counter and resumed his position, his hands once again steepled in front of him.
"I apologize for the violence. I'll add a quart of lutefisk so we have good feelings. Frogs love this, ya? So the dress and winter boots?" He said with a jolly smile.
"Er, you can keep the lute-fisk. I'll take the carrots and rope too. Oh and the pickaxe."
"That will be ninety, dear."
"Oh okay." Anna fished around her dress for the money with her free hand. "Here you go!" Anna tossed several coins on the table and the shopkeeper examined them.
"Of course crazy girls are rich…"
"What was that?" Anna said.
"Nothing dear, I vill give this bag for free, ya?"
"Oh! Thanks!" Anna grabbed the bag and threw in the carrots and string. "Is there somewhere private, where I could change?"
"There's a room over there next to the sauna with my family." He waved happily, "Yoo hoo! Hi family!"
The family waved back, "Yoo hoo!"
Anna waved back. "All right thank you!"
"Thank you for business!"
After changing into the warmer boots, gloves and a warmer dress, Anna and 'Ranma' exited the shop and looked around. To the left, Anna saw a lit barn.
"People smell better than reindeer~." She heard singing and the strumming of a string instrument from the barn. She inched closer to the barn.
Another line was sang, this time in a deeper voice than before. "That's once again true for all excep-"
"Ribbit!"
"Gah!"
The man turned around to find Anna standing at the door, a bag at her feet and a frog in her arms.
"Frog lady!"
"My name is not- Ahem." She cleared her throat and straightened her composure. "You said you're from the North Mountain right?"
"Right indeed, frog lady."
"Could you not…"
"Ribbit!"
"Ranma, you're not helping!"
The man rejoined the conversation, ignoring the small byplay, "So what do you want?"
"I want you to take me up the North Mountain."
"Sorry." The man said as he covered his face with a black hat. "I don't take people up the mountain." He then muttered, "Especially not girls who talk to animals." The reindeer beside the man snorted in agreement. "Ha ha! Sven agrees."
"Well excuse me." Anna said indignantly. "This is my friend who was cursed to be a frog."
The man grunted, "Oh so like Princess and the Frog."
"You know that story?" Anna asked, surprised.
"Yea, it's the one where.. Are you saying, that that frog is a prince or something?"
"Well not exactly a prince but yeah."
"Really?"
"Uh huh."
The man turned to Sven. "Ha, Sven you see that? She thinks that frog is a person." Sven snorted in a laughing manner.
"He really is!"
"Ribbit."
"All right, lady." The man said, laying back on the hay. "Tell you what. If it's really true, then kiss the frog. We should see it transform into that friend of yours."
"I, uh." Anna stared at the frog. "Fine! But promise me you'll bring me up the North Mountain."
"You got yourself a deal." The man turned himself to the side with his head resting on his hand. His face was etched in amusement as Anna brought the frog closer to her face.
"Ok…" Anna mumbled. "I can do this. I. Can. Do. This."
*Encouraging* "Ribbit."
Anna puckered up, closed her eyes and slowly brought the frog closer until their lips touched. And out of reflex Anna dropped the frog and gagged, her fists curled up tightly and her face scrunched up in disgust. "Ugh…"
"It didn't work lady." Anna heard the man say.
Anna slowly opened up a single eye, surely enough the frog was at her feet, staring at her displeased. She couldn't help but despair, she collapsed to her knees (orz), already ruining her recently bought dress. While dramatically slamming her fist to the ground, she wailed, "That was my first kiss. I let a frog take my first kiss. My first kiss… Nooooooo, where's my prince charming?" Anna started to hyperventilate, then lifted herself up and turned angrily to the frog. "Ranma," she growled, "why didn't it work?"
"Ribbit."
She fumed silently for a few second before, a look of realization adorned her face. "Maybe… It had to be a true love kiss." Another realization hit her. "Oh…" Her eyes fell wistfully on 'Ranma,' "I guess it has to be Elsa, huh?"
"Elsa!" Ranma yelled again as he-currently female- walked up the icy steps without using the handrails or showing any signs of unbalance. As he swiftly made his way up the steps he marveled at the intricate architecture of the bridge and the palace itself and muttered to himself, "For someone who's scared of using their powers, she really can use it." He opened the grand blue doors and stood in the middle of the lobby. "Elsa! I know you're here!"
The Queen revealed herself from a section overlooking the lobby, her hair was in a braid and lacked the crown he had seen earlier, she wore an elegant blue dress with a thin, lighter blue dress cape that glided across the floor as she moved. "Who are you?" She asked cautiously and quietly.
"It's Ranma." He said, then quickly continued. "I got a curse that turns me into a girl with cold water." Elsa was dubious. "C'mon Sa-chan… It's magic, do I really have to convince ya?" Ranma said with a large grin.
Elsa examined the girl closely, finding similarities in the striking blue eyes, just a shade darker than hers, the pigtail, and the cocky grin on a face very similar to the fighting boy earlier. Sa-chan, her nickname echoed in her head, bringing back memories of joy. "Ranma!" Elsa rushed down the steps to red-head.
"I knew you would believe me."
"But earlier, you were a man."
"Yea, like I said, it turns me to a girl with cold water and with hot water I'm a guy." Ranma looked around, "I'm guessing ya don't have hot water here."
"I'm afraid not." Elsa replied. She glided closer to Ranma until she was in arm's reach, she raised a hand to the shorter stature of the girl, and slapped her. Immediately, tears sprang up and she choked out, "That's for leaving us."
"It wasn't my fault."
"You didn't even try to come back once?"
"I had no idea where we were…"
"Do you have any idea how much I suffered?" Tears started to stream down her face, as she looked at the stony girl in front of her.
"Maybe. Sorry."
Elsa stared at the boy for some quiet moments before springing into Ranma, hugging the petite body. She felt Ranma's flinch but continued her embrace. Ranma reluctantly moved his own arms around her midriff.
"Sa-chan…" She heard him whisper. Elsa didn't respond and tightened her grip on Ranma, she didn't care that Ranma was currently girl. Ranma was Ranma. "Sa-chan…" She heard him whisper again, this time slightly louder and urgently.
"Let me enjoy this, Ranma. It's been so long…" It's so warm and nice… When was the last time I had intimate contact?
"Yeah but…" Ranma seemed panicked and lightly struggled in her arms. "Your dress…"
"What about my dress?" Elsa said softly, her head resting on the red head's shoulder. She wandered what could be so important about her dress that Ranma had to break such a precious moment.
"Melt-ing." Ranma stuttered nervously.
Immediately, Elsa disengaged the hugged and looked down at herself. Sure enough, the elegant dress she crafted for herself had melted in the areas that were in contact with Ranma. Her arms were exposed, showing off her clean and delicate skin. She could feel the back of her midriff exposed to the air. Looking directly down, she could see twin pale luscious mounds, also exposed. Her quickly covered herself and looked aghast at Ranma who had turned away, blushing furiously with his hands overs his eyes. With a twirl of her hands she fixed her dress.
Blushing like mad, she told Ranma, "You can turn around now."
Hesitantly, Ranma turned around, peeking through the slits of his fingers, seeing as his friend was decent, he dropped his hand to the side.
"So, you think I could make a fire? Or would that melt your clothes?"
*Slap*
"So you'll take me up the North Mountain? Uhh, Christopher?" Anna asked, following 'Christopher' who was hooking straps from his ice sleigh to Sven.
"It's Kristoff. And I'm only taking you because I pity you. Plus the fact that you bought the rope and pickaxe for and the carrots for Sven. Thanks by the way." After finishing adjusting the strap, he sat on the sleigh, followed by Anna with the frog.
"All right Sven. Let's go!" With a happy 'neigh' from the reindeer the trio sped off to the North Mountain. While cruising up the side of the mountain, Kristoff initiated conversation.
"So, you told me your sister, the Queen, went... ice crazy? Tell me about that."
"Well, it's all this guy's fault." Anna said forlornly at the frog in her lap.
"A frog, made the Queen go crazy? Did she lick it…?"
"What? Ew no! You're thinking about toads anyways."
"Well, you did kiss it, so I was thinking," Kristoff reasoned with a shrug, "maybe it runs in the family."
Indignant, Anna replied, "I said he was a person before! He got cursed to be a frog. Basically he was this childhood friend of ours who disappeared suddenly, then reappears ten years later," she glared at the frog, "at the worst possible time! He comes in, gets in a fight making Elsa try to protect him and BAM! Ice powers come out her hand. Then she gets scared or, I don't know what, and runs off while making this wonderful iceland."
Kristoff glanced to the amphibian.
"Ribbit."
"Seems more trouble than he's worth." He leaned over to Anna and whispered into her ears, "If I were you, I would get rid of him now. I heard frog legs tastes like chicken."
"He's a friend!" Anna gasped, "I would never hurt him."
"I don't know." Kristoff smirked, "You said it yourself, he leaves you, then comes back at the worse possible time. Seems pretty slimy to me." Kristoff chuckled to himself. Slimy like a frog, heh heh.
Anna looked thoughtful for a moment. "Anyway, I need to get to Elsa so she could change him back and bring back summer." She added sarcastically, "I'm sure Arendelle made a great impression to the other kingdoms."
"What kind of name is Ran-ma, anyways?" Kristoff inquired. "Doesn't sound local."
"He's from the East." Anna answered. "Like far east. I think he said he was from Japan. Right Ranma?"
"Ribbit."
"The East huh?" Kristoff smirked, "You know, they say Easterners have pretty small feet."
"Foot size doesn't matter!" Anna defended her friend.
Suddenly the sleigh slowed down to a stop. In a serious voice, Kristoff commanded, "Hush."
"What? You can't just-" Anna retorted but was then muffled by Kristoff's large glove.
Kristoff stood up and took the lantern attached to the sleigh to look around. "Shhh." Suddenly he yelled, "Sven! Go!" And they took off at a greater speed than before.
"What?" Anna exclaimed. "What's happening?"
"Wolves." Kristoff answered, his head whipped back and forth fearfully, keeping an eye on the approaching wolves and the area ahead. "C'mon Sven, you can do it." He encouraged.
Looking behind them, Anna could make out glowing eyes, growls and bared fangs. "Oh no. What do we do? They're catching up!"
"Sven can outrun the wolves, but it's a bit heavy for him. We'll have to cut off the sleigh." He groaned, "I just paid it off too…"
He picked up Anna along with a bag, eliciting a yelp from the princess, and threw her on Sven. Then he carefully made his way to the front of the sleigh where he jumped onto the reindeer. Seeing as the wolves were getting extremely close he muttered a small apology and proceeded to cut off the harness. Immediately Sven's speed increased and the sleigh, no longer tethered to Sven, fell back and collided with a few of the wolves. He could hear a sickening crack from the sleigh and wolves. A single tear fell from his eyes.
"Hey!" Anna's voice snapped him back to reality. "We have to jump!" Ahead was a chasm, with a deep drop below.
"You're right." Kristoff agreed, as they approached the chasm, he smacked Sven's back with the command of "Jump!" And the reindeer jumped.
Miraculously, they made it. Plowed inside the snow, both Kristoff and Anna got up, and was able to see the howling wolves unable to cross the chasm.
Anna let out a cheer, "Woohoo! We made it!"
"I didn't think we would…" Kristoff muttered.
"It's just like a fairytale!" Anna said in wonder. "Everything's working out."
"I'm glad someone's happy."
She then observed Kristoff's sadness, "Sorry about your sled." She saw Sven prodding the crestfallen man. "I can get you a new one."
*Sad* "Ribbit."
"Oh no! Ranma! Are you hurt?" She examined the frog, it's breathing seemed minimal and it eyes were half closed. She muttered to herself worriedly, "What do I do?"
"Maybe you should kiss it again." Came the advice.
"Piff!" "Ouch!" Kristoff gingerly rubbed the area where the snowball hit his head.
"For that," Anna demanded, putting her hands on her hips. "You're going to continue to help me."
"Fine…"
"Arendelle is frozen?" Elsa parroted.
"I guess you could say frozen." Ranma confirmed, his head bobbing. "You know how it's July? Doesn't seem like it there." He frowned. "Couldn't you see it from the window?"
"I caused that…?" Elsa whispered in shock.
"Jeez, Sa-chan, I have no idea who else has ice powers." Ranma rolled his eyes as he leaned against the icy wall, hands behind his head, the cold didn't bother him either. He had done training for the immunity.
Elsa's eyes became frosty, "Do not make it sound like it's all my fault. Who was the one who coming in and the first he does is brawling?"
"I was perfectly fine." Ranma reasoned. "You didn't haveta protect me. I'm the best remember?"
Elsa snorted. "There was a person charging at your from behind!"
"Puh-lease I could sense him from a mile away." Ranma waved it off. "You're the one who couldn't control yourself."
"Whose fault is that? If you had not left, I probably could control my powers."
"Like I said before, I didn't choose to leave, besides you locked yourself up."
Elsa glared at Ranma. Infuriating, just so infuriating… I guess he really didn't change.
"So," Ranma prompted, "could you fix this?" He vaguely waved a hand around, hinting at the blankets of snow.
"I-I have no idea. I just ran away to protect myself from everyone else..." Elsa conceded. I just wanted to be alone...
"Useless and un-cute." Ranma let out a puff of air. "Just as I remember you Sa-chan."
Elsa could feel her cheeks heat with indignity. She knew she wasn't ugly, nor was she fat nor too skinny, she made sure of it within the confinements of her room. And to be called such a thing was just so Ranma.
"Seriously though," Ranma continued. "You have no idea?"
Elsa shook her head slowly as she thought about what she could do.
Ranma kept talking. "I bet all of this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't let fear be your enemy. But ya did."
Fear, will be your enemy. The sentence echoed in her head. She knew she heard that phrase from somewhere. But where and when? Her mind worked furiously as she concentrated. "The rock trolls…" She whispered in revelation, she had heard it during her prophecy after hitting Anna with her powers.
"What?" Ranma blinked.
"The rock trolls!" Elsa cheered. "If anyone could help us with this, it would be the rock trolls."
"Back up for a second." Ranma did a 'slow down' gesture. "What are rock trolls?"
"I never told you the specifics, but when I first hit Anna with my powers," Elsa winced at mentioning the event, "we had to heal her. Father found a book that pointed to the rock trolls and the book had a map that lead us to them. They're the ones that removed Anna's memories of magic."
Ranma frowned heavily. "Are they also the ones that told you to lock yourself up? Like when I met you."
Elsa's excitement was halted. "Well… I suppose."
"It was terrible advice."
"Thinking back, I do believe Father and I may have went overboard with my isolation." Elsa muttered regretfully.
"So where do we find the rock trolls anyways?"
Elsa frowned slightly in thought. "Father found the book with the map in the castle's library."
"Then let's go back and get it."
I really don't want to go back. "We shouldn't."
Ranma cocked his head to the side. "Why not?"
"Because," she lied, "It's been so long, I am sure the book is lost by now."
Ranma crossed his arms. "Doesn't hurt to try."
"Ranma, just go alone. You can get it yourself."
"What? Why can't you go back with me?"
Elsa's features softened as she looked down the clear floor. "I like it here. My powers will not hurt or scare anybody."
Ranma felt a flash of anger. "Isolating yourself just avoids the problem. In fact it's the damn reason we're in this situation." Ranma was a martial artist spending his life training and disciplining himself to hone and control his skills, it was absolutely mind boggling to him for anyone to not work to their reach their potential.
Elsa's eyes widened at the show of anger. She defended herself, "You heard them, they said I was a monster."
"That was that one old guy. The guy's senile."
"But I am a freak."
Ranma let out a bitter laugh. "If anybody's a freak, it's me." He gestured to the breasts he had, "I'm a guy in a girl's body. Your powers are amazing." He turned his head up to marvel at the architecture of the palace. "Look at what you made with your powers."
He was right, Elsa realized. Ranma was cursed but still went out to explore and enjoy the world without fear of anything. He understood her. He understood her burden and accepted her.
"That's a creepy smile Sa-chan." Ranma said nervously, the young queen had a strange look of happiness on her face directed at him.
"Thank you Ranma." Elsa said truthfully with a smile. It falter as other thoughts came to mind. "I'm still afraid."
"Don't worry, Sa-chan." Ranma said with a cocky grin. "If anybody messes with you, they'll haveta get through me."
She embraced Ranma for the second time, this time with half a mind concentrated on keeping her dress from melting. She felt Ranma shyly returned the hug.
"Sa-chan…" She heard him whisper. She knew her dress wasn't melting, so she wondered what he was going to say. "...I was wondering." Ranma continued in a whisper. She shivered as she felt Ranma's breath in her ear.
"Yes?" She replied softly.
Ranma asked his question in his normal voice. "Everything here is made out of ice, right? So when you gotta go to the toilet, doesn't it feel terrible? It's bad enough to go to the toilet in the winter but a toilet made of ice? Oh god." He shivered at the implications.
Elsa could feel her face redden. He ruined the moment again!
Ranma rattled on, "I saw the chandelier in that big room back there, you don't have candles to light it up so why did you bother making a chandelier? I was also wondering how'd you sleep. I mean you're laying on an ice bed. Are the blankets made of ice too? How the heck does that work? And what do you even eat here? If you make a fire, it's going to melt the place. Speaking of food, I'm pretty hungry, Sa-chan you got anything?"
"Ranma…" Elsa said sweetly as she disengaged the embrace.
"What's up?" Ranma looked curious and then suddenly looked afraid as a red face Elsa glared at him.
"Shut up."
"Sometimes I like to close my eyes and imagine what it would be like when summer does come." Said a wistful snowman that had three irregular shape snowballs as his body, three pieces of coal as a button, stick arms, and a classic carrot nose. Around him stood Anna, Kristoff and Sven, who was trying eat the snowman's nose. The snowman took a deep breath and looked up to the sky.
"No no." Anna said quickly with sharp denying gesture. "No singing, we don't have time Olaf. You gotta help us find Elsa."
"Ok!" Olaf chirped, unaffected by the denial of his summer song, and quickly waddled off to the side. "Follow me, Anna, Sven, Ranma and Sven! I'll take you to Elsa!" He waved with his stick hand.
Anna with the frog, Kristoff and Sven trailed behind the blissful snowman.
"Hey, Anna." Kristoff said from behind. "How'd you know he was going to sing?"
"Trust me." Anna said seriously. "I'm a princess, I know these kind of things."
"Really…" Kristoff deadpanned.
"Yep." She nodded earnestly. "I bet, after Elsa ran off she also sang a song."
"You think so?"
"I know so. I also bet it was a song about letting go."
"Letting go? Letting go of what? How do you know this?"
"Just a princess hunch."
Kristoff stopped in his tracks as he tried to decipher how in the world Anna would know. It just didn't make sense!
"Let it go Kristoff! (AN: ;) ) Don't think about it. We have to get to Elsa quickly or else Ranma dies!"
He shrugged in defeat and jogged to catch up the little group.
The group, with Olaf leading, finally trudged to the stairway leading up to the castle.
"It's so beautiful…" Kristoff breathed, he could feel tears well up at the sight of flawless ice.
"Who cares about that?" Anna muttered. "Have to save Ranma!" She rushed up the steps, almost slipping on the first few steps then finding her balance and conquered the stairway. Sven followed behind but due to his hooves, he had no traction and slipped off the bridge so Kristoff commanded the reindeer to stay put. He and Olaf then proceeded up the stairs to catch up with the panicked princess.
"Elsa Elsa!" Anna shouted as she rushed into the ice palace. "You have to kiss this frog! It's Ranma and I think he's going to die!" She saw her sister disorderly rush into the room. "Elsa! There you are! Here, kiss thi-" Anna held her arms out with the frog as an offering, but froze as soon as he saw a second person enter the room.
"Anna! You're here." Elsa stated. Immediately, she cocked her head to the side, "What do you mean Ranma's going to die?" She turned to the petite redhead. "He's right here, he got a curse that turns him into a girl. Ranma, did you not tell her?"
Ranma looked sheepish, putting a hand behind her bright red hair. "I was getting to there…"
"Ribbit."
"But, but!" She grasped for words. "Oh…" she then trailed off as her face became stony. She slowly and blankly turned around, proceeded to the door, and unceremoniously dropped the frog at the entrance, ignoring the questions of Olaf and Kristoff.
"Ribbit?"
Anna reared her leg back.
"Ribbit!"
And angrily punted the frog into oblivion. She then collapsed. A cloud of gloom formed above her.
"Nooooo! Ranma!" Olaf cried in anguish, his little stick arms were held over his chest as if his heart was hurting. "Don't worry widdle buddy! I'm coming for you." He declared and tugged on Kristoff to no avail. "Sven, c'mon we gotta save widdle Ranma!"
Ranma jumped down to the lobby. "D-did you think I transformed to a frog?"
Anna looked up from where she was on the cold floor and the first thing she did was cover her chest. The girl in front of had quite the breasts. "Ranma?" She inquired.
"That's me." Ranma said while jabbing a thumb to her chest.
Kristoff came up from behind. "Wait wait wait." He interjected. "You're Ranma?" He pointed at the redhead. "I thought you were a guy." Kristoff addressed the downed girl. "Didn't you tell me he was a man?"
"Yep." Ranma answered with sigh.
"And I'm Olaf! I love warm hugs!" Olaf announced himself. He was ignored.
"So that frog…" Kristoff bark a laugh and pointed at the younger sister. "You kissed a real frog!" The gloom above Anna got significantly heavier.
"What's happening?" Elsa asked after she made her way down the stairs.
Anna mumbled incoherently then sharply shook her head side to side, clearing out her thoughts. She stood up. "Elsa!" She turned to her sister. "You need to come back to Arendelle and stop this winter. We can do it together. I understand now why you locked yourself up." She locked eyes with Elsa, her own wide with hope and innocence.
Elsa stared at her sister, unsure of how to respond or do.
"I forgive you, Elsa." Anna said. "I don't want you to be alone anymore. I don't want to be alone anymore."
Elsa simply stayed silent.
"We were about to find the rock trolls." Ranma unmercifully interrupted the moment.
"Rock trolls?" Anna blinked.
"Apparently, they're the guys that made you forget Sa-chan had powers. And told her to lock herself up." Ranma said matter-of-factly. "She thinks they could help us with their magic."
"I know where the rock trolls are!" Kristoff exclaimed excitedly.
"Who are you?" Ranma asked, finally acknowledging the man.
"Hi, I'm Olaf! And I love warm hugs!" Olaf interjected. He was ignored.
"Name's Kristoff, sweetheart. And I know exactly where the rock trolls are." He declared proudly, sporting a grin.
Ranma's mood darkened at 'sweetheart.' "All right, Christopher, take us to them. Then we can fix this winter in July."
"Kristoff, not Christopher." He corrected. He made a welcoming gesture. "Follow me."
"You heard Chris, let's go Sa-chan, An-chan."
Anna nodded and looked to her elder sister. "Elsa? You're coming with us, right? We're all in this together, you're not alone."
Elsa nodded with a small smile. "Okay, let's go." She accepted. The two sisters walked side by side behind Ranma, Kristoff and Olaf. "Anna." Elsa addressed.
"Yes?"
'Who did you leave in charge of Arendelle? Alfred?"
"Oh! Not Alfred, he went to go look for you."
"Then who did you leave in charge?" She sighed, exasperated. "Don't tell me you left without anybody in charge."
"Of course I didn't! I left Hans in charge."
"Hans?" Elsa scrunched her face in thought.
"Yeah, he's the prince of-" Anna started.
"-the Seven Isles." Elsa finished.
Anna blinked. "How did you know that?"
"I met him during the meet and greet." Elsa blushed lightly.
"Oh."
"Hans was a good choice. Smart thinking Anna." Elsa was confident that Arendelle would be fine in the capable hands of Hans.
"Princess Anna has yet to return." Announced a male voice, spreading fear amongst the crowds. "I fear she may have been harmed by her own witch sister or the vagrant with her." Startled gasps rung among the crowd. "Fear not people of Arendelle. While I must stay here for internal affairs, I have gathered and sent our best soldiers to find the Queen and her sister." There was a cheer and a round of applause. Hans smirked from the podium he stood on. He was going to get in power much sooner than he expected.
AN: I'm quite disappointed how I made the first interaction between Elsa and Ranma. I think it was too forced. Thoughts?
