Chapter 12

"What's this?" Alfred muttered darkly. The butler was on the outskirts of the kingdom. He was searching for Elsa, but when he heard that the Queen ran outside the kingdom, he stopped. He honestly didn't expect her to do that, he didn't expect her to be able to run. Especially! Especially when the Queen had stayed in her room for so many years. Was she doing calisthenics in her room? There was no way she could've been fit enough to run. Not to mention… She was wearing those tight slippers royalty wear, how in god's name did she run in those!? After those few seconds, his attention refocused back to the man he was speaking to. "I apologize, could you reiterate that?"

"What?"

"Repeat."

The man, an ordinary citizen dressed in a thick coat and a hat, repeated what he said earlier.

"The Princess ran off the fetch the Queen with that vagrant!" The man said animatedly. "Princess Anna put Sir Hans of the Seven Isles in charge while she's gone. Sir Hans handed all of us warm clothing and provided us hot soup from the castle!" The man smiled widely in appreciation. "Now he sent some men to find the princess and rescue her."

"..." Alfred mused over the information. "Rescue from who? Was it not Princess Anna retrieving the Queen? Is the Queen in danger?"

"The word is she was captured by her sister or the ruffian."

"What."

Ignoring Alfred's request, the man cheerfully continued. "If you ask me, I'm glad we have Hans here!" He rubbed his hands animatedly in the cold. "Who knows what that devil queen could've done? And after years of silence, we finally have someone who understands us!"

Alfred glared at the man for the disrespect to the royal name.

The continued to ramble without noticing Alfred's intense glare. "The word is, this was the witches plot to power. Damn them."

"The witches?" Alfred muttered questionably.

The man ignored him in favor of his own voice. "Ha ha! Prince Hans protected us from them. You know, it all makes sense now. The locked up castle and the King's and Queen's deaths. All witches plot!"

"Silence yourself." Alfred snapped. He had enough of this man's babblings and left to return to the castle.

"Oh alright. I can see it now." Anna chirped while nodding her head subconsciously.

"Yea, you take the form of your version." Ranma explained. "Guess this is what I'd look like if I was born a girl. Pop's a panda."

"That's so cool!" Anna cheered. Magic was just… just amazing!

"See?" Ranma grinned cockily. "Anna doesn't mind."

Elsa frowned at the subtle gibe. "I get it… This entire mess would have been avoided." Elsa conceded. "However, how was I supposed to know?"

The reply was quick. "By talking to her."

Elsa growled lightly. "It's not that simple. Stop making it so simple."

"Well, it is simple."

"Everything isn't black and white, Ranma."

"It's fine, Elsa." Anna butt in. "It already happened and we can't change that now. Let's just look forward. Please?"

Elsa bit her lip as she looked down at her younger sibling, admiring her courage and determination. "Yes, let's."

The smile Elsa received was extremely gratifying and Elsa couldn't help but smile in return.

"I like warm hugs!"

The four of them plus Olaf were descending the icy stairway that connected the mountaintop with Elsa's magnificent palace to another, lower, mountain. Kristoff was leading, being the one who was taking them to the mountain trolls.

"C'mon Chris, it's just ice." Ranma scoffed irritably as he stepped past the mountain man who had paused to marvel at the crystal ice. He was crouched down, balancing on his toes, leaning his chubby nose close enough that he could feel the cold emanate from the ice. He shivered, whether from the cold or ecstasy from the ice, Ranma did not know.

"It's Kristoff," The man said cheerily, not at all miffed at the pretty redhead continuously butchering his name. He spoke excitedly, "It's not just ice! It's clear ice! Perfect, pure, smooth and… and beautiful…" He whispered the last part. The burly man inched forward and hugged the ice despite the cold.

Ranma snickered. "Yo Elsa! I got the perfect match for ya. He wouldn't mind your powers at all." Ranma called to the woman behind him.

Elsa flicked her fingers at him, throwing a fist sized snowball through the air.

"Hey! What did I say?" Ranma muttered while rubbing the back of his head. "Just tryna help…"

"So insensitive…" Muttered Elsa.

"Uncute." Quipped Ranma.

"Brute."

"Spoiled brat."

"Scaredy cat."

"Oh? That's how you wanna go?"

Anna watched the byplay and blinked, now that she thought about it, those two were talking as if Ranma hadn't been gone for ten years. It was as if they were all children again, before their parents died, before Elsa shut herself out, before Ranma left. Her heart hammered in her chest as she thought about the scant joyous moments in her childhood.

Anna broke out her musing as Kristoff whistled. "Here Sven!" The group had reached the other mountaintop. "Here boy!" He called out again.

Within seconds, a muffled shuffling could be heard getting close to the group. Within a few more seconds, an excited, panting reindeer could be seen galloping with its tongue lolling to the side. But before the reindeer got close, its eyes widened and stopped quickly in its tracks, snow piling at its feet. The reindeer stood, trembling as it peered at its friend and the other members of the group.

"Sven?" Kristoff inquired. "What's wrong, bud?" The man's face warped into an expression of concern and he walked to the paralyzed reindeer. He called out once more, in a reassuring tone, "Sven, you all right?" When Kristoff was roughly two feet away, Sven lunged forward and bit Kristoff softly and made a tugging motion with its head. "What's with you Sven?"

"What's wrong with your moose?" Ranma asked from the bottom of the stairway. "Can we get on to those trolls?"

Kristoff turned around with a light scowl on his face and stared down Ranma. "Look miss, I don't mind that you never remember my name." He paused and scrunched his face. "Okay, maybe I do, but you cannot, cannot, joke around with my best friend. He's a reindeer."

Ranma put his hands in a placating manner. "Alright, alright. So what's wrong with your reindeer?" Ranma took a few steps forward curiously. For every step he took, Sven trembled and tensed. Kristoff noticed this and blinked.

"Hey move back a little." Kristoff requested. Ranma obliged and Sven relaxed slightly. "It's you. You're scaring Sven." He gasped.

"Huh?"

"Sven, it's okay. The pretty lady isn't going to hurt you." He rubbed the trembling animal's back comfortingly. "None of the pretty ladies will hurt you." He looked up to the three, specifically to Ranma.

"Yea, yea, I never was going to. I had no idea you even had that mo- er reindeer in the first place." Ranma then growled. "And stop calling me a pretty lady."

Kristoff blinked. He was told by his love experts that subtle compliments were the way to go. "Why not?"

"Just don't… Ranma. My name is Ranma."

"And my name's Kristoff."

Ranma rubbed his temples. "Okay fine, Kristoff."

Kristoff smirked pridefully. "Thanks, Ranma."

"Let's just go." Muttered Ranma. "And stop laughing." He snapped mildly as he whipped his head to look at the Queen and princess.

"What's wrong?" Questioned Kristoff, slightly irritated at being outside the loop. "What are you laughing at?"

Ignoring Kristoff's question, Ranma commanded, "Lead the way Kristoff."

After Kristoff made a few soothing statements, unheard to the others, to Sven, finally managing to calm the natural animalistic fear from the reindeer. So off the group went, Kristoff and Sven in the front followed by Anna, Olaf, Elsa and finally Ranma.

"Hey Elsa?" Asked Anna in a soft voice. She slowed down to allow the snowman to walk in front of her so she could be closer to her sister. This was her chance to speak privately with Elsa. The last time was interrupted by Ranma before she could ask for Elsa's blessing to her and Hans marriage… Do I still want that?

"Yes?" Replied her sister with a curious raise of her eyebrow. Aside from throwing Arendelle into what seemed to be an eternal winter, things were brightening up; she met up with a long lost friend, finally reconnected with her sister, and was finally out the doors of the confining castle. I wonder if all of this had happened if everything had went accordingly.

"Was it just me?" Anna started with a serious voice. The ginger fidgeted, rubbing her gloved fingers together in a timid manner making Elsa all the more inquisitive.

"What is it, Anna?" Elsa encouraged the question.

Anna started to be more nervous. Then she shook her head, seemingly shaking out her insecurities. "Were you… uh." She stuttered. "Were we supposed to have, a, uh, a duet?"

Elsa blinked. "What?" That certainly was not the type question she expected.

Kristoff shouted to the back, surprisingly being able to hear the question. "She's talking about some princess thing that tells when people are going to spontaneously burst into song." The dubiety was clear in the mountain man's voice.

Elsa blinked once again and made a thoughtful noise.

"...You're not seriously thinking about it, are you?" Kristoff's dubious voice floated to the back.

"Actually yes, there was passing moment." Elsa said with a finger placed on the side of her mouth and a tilted face.

"Oh my god! Yes! For first time in forever, someone understands!" Anna nodded fervently. In front of them Kristoff's face narrowed into one of extreme disbelief until he shook his head tiredly and began walking.

Elsa stared at her younger sister for moments longer, taking note of every freckle on the ginger's face. Cheerful, optimistic and free. There was no resentment, no strain and no cold shoulder. She had been expectantly afraid Anna would be spiteful of the decade long silent treatment, but her sister remained joyful. With that relieving thought, she broke out into a grin, which quickly transformed into a melodious laughter, melting her tensions.

Anna laughed back, happy to make her sister laugh. Seeing her sister in a pleasant mood, Anna asked her original question. "So Els-"

"Guys." Ranma's voice cut in a serious and cautious voice, catching everybody's attention. "There's people following us."

Anna perked up, "Maybe they're here to help?"

Elsa, who was the closest to Ranma, looked towards to where Ranma was pointing. There were several men in foreign uniforms indeed following their tracks up the mountain. They were equipped with crossbows, pikes and spears. Due to their vantage point the men could not see them. "None of them are Arendelle's guards…" Elsa said.

"So?" Kristoff interjected. "We could use the supplies, I'm kinda hungry."

Anna nodded. "I agree. Let's meet up with them, perhaps they may help."

"They'll need warm hugs!" Olaf also agreed.

"Well, that's majority right there." Kristoff affirmed. "Let's go to them."

"Majority…?" Ranma blinked. "You're only two. I'm not that stupid not to count."

"Me, Anna, and Olaf." Kristoff listed.

"Olaf? Who's Olaf?" Ranma parroted while rapidly turning to search for the mysterious Olaf. He saw no other person. Suddenly, Ranma felt death's cold embrace around his waist and reacted instinctively. He instantly backed up, reared his leg and kicked as hard as he could, sending five white spheres and a carrot high up into the air.

"Oh look at that, I'm flying." Said a goofy voice.

"Moko takabisha!" A sphere of blue rocketed through the sky.

The five spheres were incinerated.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"So where's Olaf?" Ranma asked, seemingly unaware of his actions which contrasted another group of people. Fervent shouts rang through the mountain as the group below started to pick up their speed of travel, apparently incensed by the light show.

"Why'd you do that?" Kristoff growled, throwing his hands up in the air in an angry fashion.

"Olaf!" Anna wailed.

"..." Elsa remained silent as she processed what just happened. Ranma had just thrown a glowing orb of power.

"Do what?" Ranma said innocently, he raised a brow to the strange antics of his friends. He then snapped back to attention as the shouts became louder. "They don't look too friendly now."

"Well of course not!" Kristoff sputtered. "Y-You…"

"How did you do that?" Elsa asked eagerly.

"Do what?" Ranma repeated offhandedly while paying attention to approaching group. "Are we meeting them or what?"

"Yes!" Kristoff cried. "We should meet and turn you in for murder!"

"Murder?" Ranma blinked. "I didn't kill nobody."

"Ranma, what was that blue ball? Was that magic?" Elsa inquired while lightly shaking Ranma's shoulders.

He was too focused on the possibly hostile group to answer. "Well… too late now." Ranma muttered as the group of soldiers finally caught up to them. Anna, grateful for the interruption to the ruckus, was about to greet them until the audible sounds of clanking signified readied crossbows. Ranma's eyes narrowed as soldiers took aim and the ones carrying swords and spears tensed. Before anybody could speak, a burly bearded man in red followed by a shorter and younger but similar looking man, without a beard, walked to the front, the taller one spoke with a boisterous commanding voice.

"By orders of Prince Hans, we are to return Princess Anna from the treacherous grasps of the ice witch."

"What?!" Came the general response.

The man ignored the outburst and carefully scanned the party of four. "And we are also ordered to arrest the oriental boor who dare taint the princess… It appears he is not present."

"...Is that me?" Ranma groused offhandedly. Why's everybody against me?

Anna moved to the front with her arms making placating gestures. "My sister," she gestured to a perturbed Elsa, "is not a witch."

The two men, the apparent leaders of the group, gasped dramatically. "We were warned us of this. My Princess, can you not tell? You are enthralled in a mind spell. Your thoughts are not yours."

"What?" Anna said indignantly, scowling. "No I'm not."

"Do you not realize? She casted this land into an eternal winter. Kidnapped you for some nefarious ritual. Just now, she tried to frighten us with her witchery."

"N-no. This is all a misunderstanding." Anna fretted to no avail.

The man gasped and little a smile came through, "Alas, it appears the princess is lost." He raised his arm in command. "Shoot the witch! Leave the princess unscathed! If anybody assists the witch, shoot them!"

"No! Don't!" Anna cried and tried to move in front of soldiers, hoping to stop them, but Ranma quickly grabbed her shoulder to prevent her from moving.

Immediately, four sets of crossbows took aim and fired at a frozen queen. Elsa stood wide-eyed as she watched the arrows approach her, too shocked and too surreal to her. She closed her eyes reflexively waited for the instantaneous pain followed by death. It never came.

She heard a rustling of clothes and 'piff,' signalling one had missed into the snow. Then, incensed by cries of disbelief, she opened her eyes to see a head of red in front of her. It was Ranma and in his arm held three arrows. He had moved from Anna to her in a blink. He turned around and she flinched at the intensity in his eyes.

"What are you doing!? Why didn't you throw up a wall or somethin'?" Growled Ranma. She remained dumbfounded. "Just run, I can handle this." Ranma looked up to a dumbfounded Kristoff and Anna. "Run, you idiots!"

The group finally started to scramble up the mountain to flee and Ranma turned his attention to the attackers. They were a mix of fear and confusion as they were deciding their next action. One of the crossbowmen reloaded and prepared to shoot.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Ranma growled.

The burly man spoke, "Another easterner… a witch this time… are you related to the other lowbrow?"

Ranma mumbled a reply. "You could say that." He spoke louder this time, "I suggest you all to back off or else."

"Or else? Ha!" Snorted short man beside the bigger man. "Little girl, you're outnumbered. Even your dark arts will not save you."

Ranma rolled his eyes. "Oh sure, assume anything that you don't understand to be magic."

"No person can catch arrows."

"You could if you tried." Ranma peered to his right, spotting Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Sven well ahead and out of combat zone.

"Enough! Kill her! We must save princess Anna."

Ranma grinned childishly. "The only person you'll be saving is yourselves." With that, Ranma dashed at them.

He weaved past two more crossbow shots, jerking his head for one and jumping over the other, and got in range of the swordsmen and spearmen. Two spearmen approached first, one stabbing at his front and the other to his side. Sidestepping the man in the front in the opposite direction of the other man, he grabbed the spear and pulled the man into his fist, knocking him out. He then quickly ducked unbelievably fast, dodging the jab at his waist. The spearman, unexpecting to miss, overextended and Ranma swept his legs under the man, incapacitating him. Still low from the sweep, Ranma used his arms to flip himself over a swing from a sword and his feet flew into the chest of another spearman, with the result of knocking him out. A swordsman was next. Swinging and slashing widely, Ranma dodged the announced strikes, leading the man away from the group. Once deemed far enough, Ranma sidestepped a downwards slash and dove in. Before the man could react and slash, Ranma threw two quick punches, launching the man back into the group. Now farther away from their comrades, the crossbowmen took more shots to which Ranma dodged easily by flipping once more, landing a good several feet from the nearest enemy. He stopped and looked at his enemies; he had to grin cockily at the complete loss of morale of the men.

"W-what kind of magic is this?"

"Magic this. Magic that. Blehg" Ranma muttered bitterly. He spent all his life training but nobody can appreciate real skill. Oh sure just chock it up to some bull magic. He slightly missed China… slightly. "So mind telling me why ya hunting down Elsa?"

"I do not answer to you." Growled the apparent leader.

"Look, if it's about winter in summer, don't worry, it's being fixed. I mean that's why you're here right? You think killing her would end this? I betcha it wouldn't and you'd be stuck here forever."

"We were ordered to rescue the princess slay the false queen if possible."

"False.. Wha? That pisses me off ya know? She's still human… Just born with those powers! What's with this witch hunt crap? It's not like she asked to have magic."

"..." The soldiers shifted restlessly, unsure of what to do or say.

After seconds of silence, Ranma turned around to catch up with his friends up the mountain without looking back.

Once well out of view, a nervous soldier asked. "What do we do sir?"

"For now we rest." The man demanded. "Grab the wounded, and we'll make camp back at the sauna."

"A-are we really going to kill Queen Elsa?"

"She is not a queen." The man growled. "Witches cannot be queens."

"The girl said the Queen been birthed with magic, not because she tainted her soul. Blessed I'd say."

"That girl's a witch too! Did you heathens not see? Sold her soul to get abilities like those? Spreading lies!"

"But-"

"Silence! Or I'll cut you from where you stand!"

"I… understand."

"Good. Now let's get our men."

"Do you think she's okay?" Kristoff asked while panting. They had ran as fast as they could uphill. Kristoff was surprised with how the royals were in surprisingly good shape.

"I-I… don't know." Anna admitted. Sure she saw him fight at the castle but that had been with significantly less people and there weren't people shooting at him either. But then again, he did catch arrows out of the air.

"I'm sure he's fine." Elsa reassured. She had the time to listen to his adventures in his hectic life when they were at her ice palace. While his stories sounded completely unbelievable to a casual listener, Elsa, as a friend, believed most of it. Plus there was the fact Ranma was a horrid liar.

"How can you be so sure?" Anna inquired.

"Did he not tell you? For the last decade all he did was train with his father father."

"Oh. Yeah." Anna said, nodding. She did recall him tell her that.

"Why do you keep calling her 'he.'" Kristoff asked.

"I… I don't think it's our place to tell you." Anna said nervously.

"I agree. I am positive Ranma is fine. What's more important is that we go to the trolls."

"Right." Kristoff agreed, putting off his question and started to move. "We're almost there."

"So," Anna addressed Elsa, finally getting to what she really wanted to ask. "These rock trolls. They're the ones who told you to lock yourself up?"

There was a long stretch of silence before Elsa admitted. "No…"

"What?"

"The event is a little hard to recall because hitting… you is more prominent. I remember getting really scared by their words. I remember them saying if I don't control my powers, fear will be my enemy. Father got scared and that's when he started to shut everybody out. I learned to control my powers and so I never wanted to go out."

"But you did go out…" Anna said, hoping that Elsa would continue this therapeutic talk.

Elsa smiled delicately, "Only because some boy barged into my room and constantly bothered me to go out."

Anna returned that smile and stayed silent, knowing Elsa would continue.
"It was like Ranma…" Elsa trailed off, looking for the right word. "He distracted me. Around him, I felt completely normal. He always had my attention so I never worried about losing control because I paid no heed to the anxiety of control." Elsa then blushed as she thought about her words.

"And then what happened?"

"Then, he left. It was just afte-"

"I remember."

"Then all I could think about was my mag- my curse. If Ranma, indestructible and stubborn Ranma, succumbed to his own curse, what chance did I have? Then when winter came, it was a constant reminder of the possibility. Then when you made Olaf, it just… triggered me. I was terrified again. I never wanted to hurt you. Not again."

Elsa stared into her sister's matching blue eyes and was surprised to see them brimming with tears. Elsa opened her mouth to console her when Anna shot forward and embraced her. Elsa stood still, surprised at the sudden action; she then returned the hug, taking in the earthy scents from Anna's wiry ginger hair.

"It hurt." Anna said from under Elsa. "I lost my sister. You were my best friend and you disappeared. I was so lonely… Then mom and dad…"

"I'm so sorry Anna." Elsa whispered. She had been selfish. While she believed she was doing what was best for them, she deprived her sister of the necessary relationship in her life. When she isolated herself, she isolated Anna from other friends. She she cried out of loneliness, so did Anna. The two of them stood there in each other's embrace until they heard Kristoff's voice in front of them.

"Oh reindeer. What should I do, Sven?" Kristoff addressed the animal in a hushed voice.

Sven neighed.

"I can't just do that! They're having a moment!"

Sven neighed.

"Don't call me socially awkward! You don't even understand me."

Sven neighed.

"No… we're out of carrots." Kristoff then noticed the two royalty had broken out of their hug. "Oh um… it's just a little ways off."

Kristoff waited on top of the mountain as the two sisters walked up, both in apparent improved moods. As they approached the mountain man, they noticed the air becoming warmer and less snow appeared. Kristoff started walking again and as they went on, snow disappeared and was replaced by mossy stones. The frigid air became thick and humid. Every once in awhile they could see holes in the ground where steam vented out into the open. Kristoff moved around with confident familiarity, Anna relished in the warm comforting air and Elsa looked about, curious to her new surroundings. The surroundings tickled her memories.

"We're almost there…" Kristoff said excitedly with a pleasant smile. He inhaled deeply and let it all out as he moved jovially. "You know… these trolls, they're more than that. They're my family."

"Your family?" Questioned Anna.

"I'm… an orphan. All I had was Sven; it was just me and him so they took me in." Kristoff paused in a memory, his eyes widened in revelation. "Then one day… One day I saw an ice trail appearing in the path of cart. We followed and we saw the King and Queen with their daughters up the mountain asking for help or something. They were you two!"

"What?" Anna and Elsa simultaneously asked.

"Wow." Kristoff said in wonder, chuckling slightly. "Isn't that amazing? All those years ago, you guys were the ones to bring me to my family and now I'm bringing you to them. What are the chances?" He chuckled to himself. Off to the side, Sven chuckled too, although the reindeer didn't know was going on of course.

"Indeed," a deep sage voice broke Kristoff out of his stupor and brought the attention of Anna and Elsa to the voice. "Destiny is a mysterious force that binds select souls together in fantastical ways."

"Grand Pabbie!" Kristoff cheered at seeing his grandfather-figure.

"Hello Kristoff."

More varied voices sprung up mixed with the rumbling, grinding sound of stone on stone.

"Kristoff's back?"

"Kristoff's back!"

"He brought a girl!"

"No, he brought two girls!"

"That handsome rascal!"

Elsa and Anna gawked in fascination as dozens of boulders rolled around Kristoff and surrounded the first one that spoke. The boulders simultaneously sprung up into distinguishable features. They had two boulders stacked on top of each other, forming the torso and head. The torso had a green 'vest' made of moss, and jutting from the torso were stubby stone arms and legs. They had enormous noses, ears and smiles with a head topped with grass for hair. Several of them had necklaces of colored gems, greens, blues, purples, pinks, and red. The older looking one that spoke had a yellow necklace and a grassy cloak.

"Hey." Anna whispered to Elsa.

"Hm?"

"You think they're going to sing?"

"...No?"

"Oh. Okay." Anna quietly conceded.

One of the trolls walked up to the two women, a female troll from what they could tell, and asked cheerily, "So which one of you lucky ladies are going to be Kristoff's wife?"

Both women started in surprise. In the background, they could see several trolls crafting a crown of flowers and creating what seems to be a shrine.

"He may have his many flaws, but who could resist him?" The troll whispered to the two.

"Nonono." Kristoff interjected nervously smiling foolishly at his family's antics. "We're here for business."

"Marriage is business, Kristoff." The troll said matter-of-factly.

"Serious business." He corrected.

"Right. So which one?" The troll pointed in the direction of the two embarassed siblings.

Kristoff was lost for words.

"That's enough, Ge." Commanded the old troll. Pabbie glanced behind him and immediately all the trolls ceased the wedding preparations. "I sense this involves the Queen of ice."

Elsa snapped out of her trance and agreed. "Yes. That's right."

The wizened troll closed his eyes and spoke slowly. "In a surge of passion came a lapse of control. In a lapse of control came horror. And so comes an eternal winter."

The three humans stayed silent as they thought about his words.

"Yes…" Elsa said hesitantly, loosely seeing how his words applied to her. "How do we correct my mistake?"

The troll kept his eyes closed and he muttered to himself. "Events are wrong… some manifestation of chaos meshed horribly with destiny…"

"Pardon me, could you repeat that?" Elsa prompted. She saw the rock troll's mouth move but she didn't hear anything.

He opened his eyes and spoke clearly. "An act of true love can thaw the grip of your insecurity. With such comes command. The longer you wait, the tighter the grip."

There a resounding gasp from the trolls.

A troll from behind Pabbie voiced their thought. "An act of true love… Perhaps, like a true love's kiss!"

"A kiss…?" Elsa whispered to herself. She then shook her head and narrowed her eyes at the elder troll. She asked distressingly. "Why did you not tell us this when we first came to you? So much could have been prevented."

"..." Pabbie turned his back to the Queen and few tense seconds passed. "At such a young age, true love is an impossibility. Too immature and too unpredictable. An outcome far worse than the current may have occurred." There was slight hesitation in his words.

"..." Elsa thought long about the logic.

Anna had zoned out when Pabbie offered the solution, thinking about what to do. She spoke excitedly. "Elsa! You have to kiss Ranma."

This snapped Elsa out of her own thoughts. "Ranma!? Ew, no! That musclehead is not my true love." She denied while denying eye contact.

"Well, we need to fix this and people will see you as a hero in Arendelle." Anna urged.

"I get that. But I just want to say, he is not my true love." Elsa refused to face her sister. "What gave you that idea?"

Anna made a strange, skeptically relieved face. "All right. All right. Then what do we do?"

"I-I don't know."

"Let's go back to the castle. Let's go home." Anna offered.

Elsa's eyes widened in fear. "Anna, I can't." Pitchforks and torches awaited her.

"Of course you can. We'll just tell them we're working on the problem. They'll understand."

"It's not just that." Elsa insisted. "It's me. I'm an abomination. They're going to hate me… I can't be a Queen."

"Yes you can." Anna asserted with fiery determination and confidence. "They'll have to accept you as who you are. If they don't, then too bad for them! Ranma accepts you."

"That's because he's different. And everything isn't as simple as that." Elsa shook her head. "They sent soldiers to kill me, Anna."

"It's a huge misunderstanding. Hans meant well." Anna reasoned. "I'm sure the intention wasn't to… kill you. He's a good man. The soldier he sent twisted his words for his own fear. He did not belong to Hans anyways. It was the Weaselton guy's guards."

"Weselton." Elsa automatically corrected. Her face contorted thoughtfully as she pondered Anna's arguments. "But-"

"Elsa please." Anna cut in. "You promised you would accept other people's help. Accept me. Don't shut yourself in that lonely castle. It's just so wrong!" Anna soulfully bored into Elsa's blue eyes with doleful ones. "Let's go back together."

"Yo!" A familiar feminine voice announced itself before Elsa could reply. "Woah! So these are the rock trolls huh? I thought they would be scarier looking."

"Another woman!"

"Look at those…"

"Kristoff's such a lady killer, ain't he?"

"She's not royalty though."

"...melons."

Ranma sweatdropped as he listened to the conversing trolls. "I ain't marrying no one!" Ranma declared. His hands twitched as he desperately resisted trying out a martial art technique.

"Spunky too!"

"Sa-chan." Ranma called out while masterfully ignoring the active trolls around him. "You figure out how to fix it yet?"

The platinum haired Queen nodded demurely, turning away from Anna.

"That's great! Whatcha haveta do?" Asked Ranma as he approached the group.

"It's you." Said a voice below them.

"Hmm? It's me?" Inquired Ranma, innocently looking down to a troll with a yellow necklace.

"You are the child that… I must leave." With that, Pabbie left the enclosure.

"Grand-Pabbie?" Kristoff questioned.

Ranma couldn't make any sense out of the broken sentence and so ignored it. Addressing his friends, "So wha-"

"We're going back to the castle." Elsa said briskly.

"Yes!" Anna cheered.

"Oh okay." Ranma responded. "But what's the-"

"Going. Now." Elsa interrupted once more and started heading off. She took a few steps before immediately stopping and turning back to the crowd. "Kristoff, can you lead us back to Arendelle? I will compensate for your time."

"N-no need! I'll gladly lead you guys back." Kristoff answered enthusiastically.

"Aw Kristoff." Moaned some of the trolls. "You just got here! You can't just leave. At least, not unmarried that is."

"I'm sorry guys, but this is important." Kristoff explained as he waved his goodbyes to his family while walking to the Queen. He dragged a happy Sven with him.

"Ranma, they didn't hurt you did they?" Anna asked worriedly as she followed Kristoff's movements.

Ranma scoffed as he too, followed his companions. "Of course not! They didn't land a single hit on me!"

"But there were so many of them."

Ranma rolled his eyes. "Trust me, I've seen old grannies better than them. I knocked a few of 'em out and then I let them retreat."

Anna examined the boy turned girl, noticing the confident swagger of his words and posture, the cocky grin plastered on his face, and the carefree atmosphere he gave off. It was a stark contrast to the nervous vibes he gave off when he was travelling with her. Same old Ranma.

"Hey so what did the trolls say to do?" Ranma inquired while stretching off some kinks.

"Oh! They said an act of true love would fix everything."

Anna started in surprise as Ranma suddenly chuckled. "Oh god." He said between chuckles. "We're doomed."

Yep. Same old Ranma.

AN: Yep. Not what you expected the story to go huh. If it did go expected, where's the fun in that? Here's some stuff to keep in mind:

-For the Olaf lovers… Don't worry he'll be back

-There's probably one (two?) more chapter and then the Frozen arc is done then we can go into the fun Ranma-esque stuff with underlying plot with conflicting ideologies.

-I'm purposely making a big deal about the whole "witch" thing. It'll be evident why, soon.

-So Anna did not get hit by ice (I originally had Anna get hit and go kinda like the Movie) and instead Elsa is told the secret. What does that mean? Does it mean, there will be a true love's kiss? Or maybe Elsa's the one who's going to save Anna. Or will something random and unexpected happen? Stay tuned!
