Chapter 29: Responses and Reactions

(The rest of the day - Wednesday)

(The police station)

A police officer sees Kioshi walk up to him, so he stands and asks: How can I help you?!

Kioshi: I would like to confess to a crime I committed

police officer: I see … can you please follow me, … I will take you to a private room where we can talk

Kioshi followed the police officer to the room and sat down

police officer: I will need to ask you a few questions to determine what kind of officer can take your case … can you please tell me the nature of your crime?

Kioshi: Theft and deception

police officer: Where and when did you commit the crime?

Kioshi: In Kyoto, a few years ago …

Confused, police officer: Why did you come to Tokyo to confess?

Kioshi: I haven't been to Kyoto since then … I have left the country for several years before coming back

police officer: Alright … I will call a detective in to talk to you about the specifics … I would also like to ask you, … would you like to hire a lawyer?

Kioshi: no, I'm fine

police officer: ok …wait here, please

(after around 10 minutes, a detective enters the room and closes the door behind him)

The Detective introduced himself and reads out Kioshi's rights … then confirmed that he didn't want a lawyer by his side

The Detective: Can you please tell me about your crime … I would like you to tell me every detail you know!

Kioshi told him everything he knew from the planning to him traveling to Japan and meeting Saena, to his final act of taking her files and running away back to America

The Detective asked: This happened 18 years ago?!

Kioshi: Yes …

Suspicious, The Detective asked: did you come now because you know that no one will pursue you?

Kioshi: No, I came out of guilt about everything that has happened and is happening …

The Detective: like?

Kioshi explained his current situation, about learning the truth behind what really happened to Saena … her child … and what his mother was doing to them

The Detective: alright, … I'm going to step out for a short while, … I will have one of my officers bring you something to drink

The Detective left the room and sat in his office to check in on any cold cases concerning Kioshi but couldn't find anything … he, therefore, contacted Saena and Katagiri, as Kioshi named them to be involved and affected by what happened, especially since they were currently in Tokyo

Saena answered her phone, and after a series of questions, she agreed to come to the police station for further questioning, along with Todoh, who was sent by Katagiri to represent him, as he was too busy with a case.

Saena and Todoh arrived at the police station and were taken to a different room … they were questioned regarding the lack of records concerns the crime committed, and they told him what really happened

Todoh asked: Is he here with his mother?

The Detective: No, it's just him … alone!

Todoh: I assumed so … can we have a word with him?!

Concerned, The Detective asked: are you sure?!

Todoh: Yes … don't worry, I won't risk my career doing anything ridiculous

The Detective took them to the room where Kioshi was held, and as soon as they entered, Kioshi stood up and bowed apologetically

Todoh: what the hell do you think you're doing?!

Saena: Do you think I have time to deal with this?!

Kioshi: I'm sorry! … I really am!

Todoh: Are you being serious right now?! … didn't we say that we wouldn't press charges?! … do you think we have time to deal with this, after everything that is going on?

The Detective: to be fair, he did this trying to stop his mother from doing any further damage

Saena raised an eyebrow, and asked: I reckon that had no effect! … given the fact you're here and she's not here trying to stop you!

Kioshi looked down and said: I thought this will snap her out of her rage … scare her ... but she doesn't care anymore, it seems!

Todoh: you know there is no record concerning your actions, due to the complicated nature and the fact a coverup was ordered … why did you drag us here, … don't you think our hands are full with this crap already!?

The Detective: the statute of limitations has passed already, therefore, we can't really charge you … besides Mogami-san and Katagiri-san don't seem interested in pressing charges against you

Saena: Go back to your family … and stop messing around already! … I'm at my limit concerning dealing with you and your mother

Kioshi: I'm trying to stop her … But I really don't know how to ….

Todoh interrupted: and clearly opening a closed case is a waste of time! … please be more thoughtful, I know that's hard for you … but I think you're mature enough to know that this is useless! … I would ask you to refrain from involving us in anything going forward!

Saena: If she doesn't stop, then she should expect a defamation case coming her way! … it's clear to me that she doesn't want to go away quietly, and so I will grant her that!

Kioshi: I don't think that will stop her … she said she doesn't care anymore … she doesn't care if she trashes you and your daughter … she is willing to take the chance because she has nothing to lose

Todoh: What did Kyoko ever do to deserve this?!

Kioshi: She is being punished for not doing as my mother wanted … that's what she told me today … I tried to reason with her … but even contacting my father seems futile … as she can just ignore his calls! … I hate that this is happening … I want to stop this madness!

Todoh frostily said: I guess guilt is finally catching up to you!

The Detective could sense the deep hatred Todoh held for Kioshi … he was however glad that Todoh never attempt to hurt the man, physically at least

Kioshi: I don't think going to the media to tell a different story will help, but I could do that if it would … I will do anything to stop this … I promise!

Todoh replied coldly: No thanks! … you talking to the media will only make a big huge mess! … don't dare get involved!

Saena: I agree … stay out of it completely, that's the best thing you can do!

Kioshi nodded and said: ok … I will stay away! …. I'm really sorry!

Todoh: lets head back, Mogami!

The Detective takes them back to the room to take their statements that they didn't want to press any charges and that this case indeed happened a long time ago

Kioshi was also released a little while after they left … he felt super guilty and unsure of what to do next … how can he stop his mother who is spiraling out of control!

(At LME agency)

Kyoko and Yashiro arrived at the LME agency … they went straight to Takarada's office as instructed

Yashiro: You called us, president?

Lory: yes … have a seat you two … Ruto, please bring us some tea!

Kyoko sat down and calmly smiled

Lory: How was work, Mogami-kun?

Kyoko: It went well, we filmed everything scheduled for today, yet we still finished early

Yashiro: you were great as always, you didn't get a single NG!

Lory: That's great! … I'm glad you have the energy to do your work well, even with all these things happening around you

Kyoko looked down and said: that's because I followed Tsuraga-san's methods and advice … he told me to leave all my personal problems once I'm on set! … I can't inconvenience every one on set because of personal matters!

Lory nodded with a sly smile thinking (that guy is giving her all his secrets and pointers for success … well, that's all good, because I want them to be successful!)

Kyoko: As to my personal issues … am I to remain silent this time around?!

Lory: It's tough to say … but I would recommend it … I prefer not to agitate them into going for a back and forth type of response … as far as I heard, it seems the old lady is behind this … we have footage of her going to Boost's office a few days ago!

Kyoko: well … she seems to be the mastermind behind the whole ordeal … and she's the one who seems to be causing havoc and assaulting the people I care about!

Yashiro: but, what do I do about Kuresaki-san … he's really upset with the current situation! … he was planning to do a press release soon, but now he has to postpone everything as he wants us to handle this as soon as possible!

Lory: I will handle that matter myself … I'm already in contact with Morizumi, and were trying to figure something out

Kyoko: so, all I have to do is remain quiet about this?

Lory: for now, yes … that's all I ask … I'm hoping maybe people around you can respond instead! … but at the same time, I think ignoring her would be the right thing to do, because she spread her next piece the very next day after your response

Kyoko nodded then said: I'm just worried about the backlash … I really don't know what to do, am I going to hurt the people around me because of this

Yashiro: Kyoko-chan, ... you should be more concerned about yourself, it's good to be selfless, but please, put yourself first in times like this!

Lory: he's right! … I'm worried about you then about the projects you're in!

Kyoko: Is there any way we can stop them from doing this!

Lory: I'm planning to slam Boost and that woman with a defamation lawsuit! … those lies won't go well with us!

Kyoko: but … what if she starts telling some truth the next time she spreads the news about me

Confused, Yashiro asked: like?!

Lory understood Kyoko's concerns … Saena had already bought it up with him, the fact they already knew that she and Kyoko lived apart for a long time … he smoked his cigar and said: well, in that case, we will just tell our own story!

Kyoko bit her lip and said: I don't want to be the victim! … I want to fight this! … I won't let them hurt me … hurt us like this! … they are pure evil and I won't stand by and watch, I will fight with everything I have!

Lory: good thinking! … we don't want to paint a weak victim image! … we will fight, but when the right time comes! … don't worry too much!

After the meeting, Kyoko was sent home by Yashiro and she sat with her mother and talked to her about what happened in the meeting, they agreed to listen to Lory and wait for the right moment to attack back with the truth, if needed.

(The next day - Thursday)

(Saena's apartment)

Kyoko woke up early, prepared breakfast and lunch, then got dressed, had breakfast with her mother, as Todoh couldn't join them in time, and left as soon as she got a call from Yashiro

Saena sat alone in her apartment, waiting for Todoh to pick her up … she wondered if she should just get a new car … but decided to think about that after things calm down

She opened her laptop and decided to answer some of her emails when she saw an email from the lawyer she talked to earlier … she opened the email and saw different names and programs that help with mental health

She closed her laptop rejecting the idea right away … getting up to wash her face and calm her nerves down … she stared at herself in the mirror and started to doubt herself … she tried to build a strong front … she was cold and unshakable … unbreakable, … but she started to wonder if any of that is actually true

Was she still traumatized … is this going to hurt her in a way she can't recover?! … she showed a strong demeanor in front of Kyoko, but she wondered if that's all an act to hide how she truly felt inside?!

She recognized that when that guy first reappeared he uncovered a scar that never healed … she was slowly breaking down and she didn't know how to save herself

Was it wise to lean on Todoh-san … is it ok to burden him with her problems?! … he helped even if she didn't ask! … but was it too much … was she too reliant on him, now?

Is it wise to listen to that lawyer and get help?! … was she willing to lose some of her pride and seek help?! … was she going to take that risk?! … she has gone through all this time and survived without that kind of help … so what was the point of seeking help now?! … will it fix anything? … is it too late?!

She looked at herself … with a gloomy expression … she seemed broken on the inside and was losing all control over her emotions … she wondered (am I going to survive this, or is my life over now?!) …. But before her thoughts got any darker, Todoh knocked on the door

She opened the door, not noticing that her brave mask was left behind …and Todoh saw through her right away

Todoh: I suggest that you should touch up your make-up … you seem to have washed it off

Saena touch her face unconsciously, forgetting that she just washed her face, which must have messed up her makeup … she turned around heading to the bathroom, but stopped when she heard Todoh speak again

Todoh: If you need to put on a mask then do so, but it will not help you come to terms with your feelings. makeup washes away eventually

Saena stayed where she was, giving him only a view of her back, as she asked: what am I supposed to do?

Todoh: you can lean on us … your friends, co-workers … and talk to us … seek help if needed

Saena shook her head and said: I can handle it … this won't last forever, I won't need a mask for a long time … I'll be fine

Todoh: just know … that I'm always going to spare time for you … I will always listen, so don't hesitate to rely on me

Saena: I already do that … more than enough

Todoh disagreed: not nearly enough!

Saena: let's have this conversation another time … we can't afford to be late

Todoh promised her silently that he will bring it up again … he wanted to help but he knew that bringing up mental health was a no-go because he knew about Mogami and her pride, and he wasn't sure she would listen to him when it came to that! … but he was willing to try to find any way to help her

(In Yashiro's car)

Kyoko opened the door and cheerfully said: Good morning

Yashiro and Ren replied cheerfully, hoping that being cheerful will help her, even if only a little

Kyoko sat next to Ren and they talked about little things here and there, including the fact Kuu had been contacted by Lory and he had contacted her asking her to be her legal Guardian in the US!

Kyoko: So, I agreed and we sent him the forms he needed to complete … I'm not sure we need to do this … because I don't actually plan to go to the US this year … but just in case

Ren: That great!

Yashiro: the way you described it … it seemed like he was begging you to be his daughter!

Kyoko: You not wrong … his voice sounded like a puppy! … he said that the moment he heard about the idea, he got my number and called right away … I actually woke up to two missed calls from an unknown number

Ren smiled happily knowing that his father was willing to take her under his wing to protect her from the people who were hurting her

Yashiro: so how did you know it was Kuu?

Kyoko: he texted me … about 10 long texts explaining who he was, reminding me of our time together last year …he's such a great person! … his son is sure lucky to have such a great father!

Ren: Well, now you are basically his child too! … so, you are also lucky to have a father like him!

Kyoko smiled brightly and nodded happily!

Ren sat a little closer to her … and took her hand in his … moving his thumb over her knuckles comfortingly

Kyoko looked down shyly but didn't pull her hand away … the closer she was to Ren, the safer she felt … she can almost forget all her trouble when she's around him

Yashiro noticed that but didn't say a word … he was happy they were getting closer to one another … and he certainly didn't think it was good timing for his teasing … he let it go, for now, hoping that any power Ren had would rub off on Kyoko, making her stronger then she already is

(At a TV station)

Sho was walking around after he finished his job and spotted a group of reporters … he thought he should approach them but didn't know how to start a good conversation with reporters … so he looked at them, halting his approach towards them!

He sat down … hoping they would approach him themselves, and luckily to him, they took the bait!

Reporter 1: Hi … Fuwa Sho-san … would you mind spearing us a few minutes of your time!?

Reporter 2: yes … we have some questions about you and your career

Sho casually said: Sure … ask away … but I can't promise anything!

Reporter 1: no worries … we won't take long! … can you please tell us about your plans for your next album?!

Sho: I'm currently working on it … I do plan to release it at the end of the month … but if it takes longer, it will be because I'm trying to improve my music so I can give my fans the best album yet!

Reporter 1: that's exciting! … it shows how dedicated you are to your craft!

Reporter 2: I'm wondering … are you going to release any music videos this time around … people loved your prisoner MV and are asking for more MV's in the future!

Sho: I'm planning on it … but sadly I can't release this information, as nothing is set in stone …but don't worry, I'm listening to my fans and I want to give them what they want!

Reporter 2: that all I wanted to hear! … I'm personally a fan, so I'm excited about your next album!

Reporter 3 came up and said: are you planning on a new tour this year?

Sho: surely! … I'm excited to announce my future plans, but that will be through official announcements, … so you must wait for that!

Reporter 1: are you planning to have other musicians join the tour?!

Sho: I'm open to that … anything is possible! … I live for music, and what's better than to perform great music to millions of people on a grand tour … you never know, they might discover new music! (wink)

Reporter 2 blushed in excitement … and asked: is it possible that you're working on a secret project behind closed doors?!

Sho thought to himself (damn! … how can I steer this conversation about something else! … all they care about is my music!)

Reporter 3 asked: Speaking of your music video Prisoner … I heard that Kyoko from LME was a part of it … is that true?!

Sho thought (finally!) … then answered: Yes, true!

Reporter 3: have you seen the news about her lately … there are rumors about her being a daughter of a prostitute … do you happen to know anything about her … or because you only worked with her for one day, you didn't have much time to talk?

Sho smiled and said: that's totally ridiculous! … those are all lies! … Sure, I've only worked with her for one day, but I know her well … that because we're ….

Reporter 1: you are?

Sho paused and thought about Shoko's words then changed his wording saying: we're acquaintances … in fact, my family is familiar with hers!

Shocked, Reporter 2 asked: how so?!

Sho: ah well … (he thought shit … how do I explain it?! … he then smiled) then answered: my uncle and her mother work together … in fact, my uncle is her boss!

Reporter 1: Your uncle mangers a bar? … or is it a hostess club?!

Sho: No! … my uncle is a lawyer!

Reporter 1: but, does that mean that she got her job in your MV through being your friend?

Sho: oh no! … I didn't know it was her when she was hired

Confused, Reporter 1 asked: how?! … you two knew each other, how did you not know who she was:

Sho: well … she changed her appearance … since we last met …

Reporter 1: are you the friend she mentioned?

Sho answered without thinking twice: yeah … I am!

Shoko finally appeared … she was looking for him and finally found … so she stopped the reporters from asking any more questions and took him away

Once they were alone she almost exploded at him in anger … but he just brushed her off thinking that he did what's right!

He thought to himself (I won this time around, Tsuraga! … you will finally realize how important I am to her and that I'm a part of her life that will never disappear!)

(In the filming studio)

Kyoko finished her current scene, thanking her co-stars and the staff for the hard work … she goes to her changing room to change to her next outfit … then she proceeded to the makeup station for a touch-up

The makeup artist today was different than the one from yesterday, as she missed a few days due to a family emergency and was finally back … so she wasn't aware she shouldn't ask Kyoko anything and wasn't aware of the "new rules" per se

Make-up artist: great work, Kyoko-san!

Kyoko: thank you!

Make-up artist: I just switch with Maruyama-san … I'm happy to be working with you today!

Kyoko: Thank you … likewise!

Make-up artist: I'm surprised about how composed you are, honestly … you don't seem affected by the news around you

Kyoko: I try not to pay too much to rumors … I need to give my best for the project!

Make-up artist: how professional! … I'm glad to be able to work with you … really!

Kyoko blushed and said: thank you

Make-up artist: by the way, can I ask you something?

Not thinking much of it, Kyoko answered: sure!

Make-up artist: You and Fuwa are friends?!

Confused, Kyoko asked: why are you talking about him suddenly?!

Momose had just entered the room and heard the questions and almost freaked out!

Make-up artist: well, he just came out and said so … so that's why I'm asking if it's true!

Shocked, Kyoko asked: he just did what?!

Momose: you're not supposed to talk about the news or the media … rumors are not permitted here

Unaware, the Make-up artist asked: since when?!

Momose: where is Maruyama-san?! … are you the new make-up artist?

Make-up artist: I was here before, but this is my first time working with you two!

Momose: I see … well, you may not have heard about the recent rules, but please refrain from mentioning anything rumored in the Media … people are just trying to cause trouble and they are targeting Kyoko-chan … please avoid bringing things up, please!

Make-up artist: I see …

Kyoko: wait! … when did that … I mean … (she looked at Momose with worry)

Momose asked: do you want me to check?!

Kyoko nodded nervously

Momose: are you sure?!

Kyoko: Yes!

Momose opened her phone and saw Sho's statement and then showed them to Kyoko

The Make-up artist wondered what was going on, but choose to respect Momose's request

Kyoko Cried: This IDIOT!

Worried, Momose: Kyoko-chan … maybe he's trying to help you

Kyoko: But this is terrible, Momose-san! … he's just ruined everything!

Momose understood a small part of Kyoko's concern … it was originally her idea to hide the fact Kyoko and Sho are childhood friends … but now Sho confirmed that he was the friend Kyoko talked about

Make-up artist: do you need a break?

Unsure, Kyoko: What do I do now?!

Momose: I will go get Yashiro-san! … Let's take a short break! … I will talk to the director!

Momose ran through the hall not stopping when Kazumi tried to talk to her, instead, she asked: where is Yashiro-san?!

Kazumi: He's talking to the director!

Momose: Perfect! …. Thanks!

She ran faster looking for the two men in question … spotting them next to the set as it's being set up for the following scene

Momose stopped near them as she walked slowly approaching them asking for permission to interrupt

Director: what's the matter?

Momose: we need a short break … Yashiro-san! … things just got a little messy!

Yashiro: what do you mean?!

Momose showed him the news about Sho's statements

Yashiro shrieked in fear holding his head for dear life … his mind straight to (Ren is going to explode! … then he thought … and this is terrible! … that kid should've kept his darn mouth shut!)

Director: is something wrong?!

Momose: You should check on her!

Yashiro nodded and ran as fast as he could, desperately praying that Ren didn't see the news

He knocked on the door and entered the Room where Kyoko was sitting alone … he opened his mouth wanting to say something but halted when he saw how pale Kyoko seemed

It was as if the blood drained from her body

He called out to her, but got no response … he thought (Crap! … this is a tragedy! … what am I supposed to do now?!)

Kyoko took a deep breath before shaking her head trying to shake off negative thoughts clouding her mind … she looked up to see Yashiro, so she'd asked: what should I do?!

Yashiro: Don't worry too much … we can handle this! … he just outed himself as a bad friend!

Kyoko freaked out saying: that's not it! …. He just ruined everything!

Yashiro looked at the director and Momose-san who was behind him and said: we'll take a break

He took Kyoko to her dressing room and told her to calm down a little … he left the room aiming to call the president, but found his phone ring before pressing the call button

Takarada: Your new mission, make sure the news doesn't get to Kyoko until she's done with work!

Yashiro: Too late! … she already saw it!

Takarada took a deep breath and said: I see … how is she?!

Yashiro: freaking out … she purposely left out "childhood friend" in her statement and he just revealed he's that same friend!

Takarada: yeah …

Yashiro: her good-natured attempt to keep him out of it, went to waste … how foolish of him!

Takarada: If she needs a break, let her have some time to calm down … I trust that she will be back on her feet after some time!

Yashiro: ok!

Kyoko, who was left alone in her room sat down with many different scenarios playing in her mind … all bad … she got up and went to her bag and took out a Shotaro doll violently, leading her bag to go off balance and fall spilling some of her things on the floor

She threw the doll on the floor and stomped on it trying to take her anger out, but paused when her eyes spotted Ren's doll on the floor … she immediately picked it up and cleaned it from any dust … she then looked at herself in the mirror and told herself to calm down … gather herself and get back to work … because she can't let him affect her job negatively … she picked her stuff up and then washed her face

She stared at herself in the mirror and thought (this won't break me! … I can get through this … this is nothing … We will figure everything out!)

Her expression changed into one that is confident and determined to do her best work possible … so she got out cheerfully and returned to the makeup station apologizing for the delay … Momose who just finished her make-up touch-up got up and said: your back already?!

Kyoko smiled assertively and said: I'm ready for work! … I can't let something like this affect me! … personal life matters won't ever affect my work!

(At TBM)

Ren sat in front of a live audience interview … The host sat on the seat facing him, gushing on how lucky she is to interview him … they have gone through the question they could ask privately and has declined any questions about his love life, as Kana hasn't denied the news about their romance yet

She asked the usual questions, about his current project, his favorite moments at work, his modeling job and tried to get some hints on his upcoming project … the interview went well, and they took a short commercial break

When he got back on set, several people had been picked from the audience to ask Ren some questions, as part of their segment allowing the audience to interact with their idol by asking a question.

They were all asked to not ask about Kana, but general questions were allowed … they had chosen 9 lucky members of the audience to ask their questions

The host presented the new segment which got a huge round of applause, and once everyone was settled they started

The host: Shall we begin, Tsuraga-san

Ren: sure … I'm ready!

Audience member #1: Hi, Tsuraga Sempai … I'm a huge fan! … um, my question for you is … if you were to adopt a pet, what type of animal would you get?

The host: that's a great question, I'm curious too, do you have a preference?

Ren: well, … I have had pets in the past, I loved them all … if I would get a pet now, … I would probably choose a chicken, perhaps?!

Part of the audience was confused by his choice, while the other laughed

Ren chuckled and said: I'm Joking … in all honesty, I'm not too picky, … but right now, I think I would likely choose a cat … someone I know has adopted a kitten recently and It made me want one

He smiled remembering Remi then said: I'm not sure I can have a pet now though, as I don't spend enough time at home, I have no time to care for them properly … so in the future, I would like to get a cat … maybe

The host: that's brilliant! … I guess you're busy keeping us entertained … hopefully, you can give a cute little kitten home in the future … let's move on to the next question

He thought for a few seconds before saying: I would go to Guam, it's close by and it has its beauty … I love the beach, the water, and the fish! … I think I would love to take some time off and go there to relax

He however was secretly hoping he can go back there with Kyoko by his side … he was very grateful to her as she freed him from his curse in their time together … Guam was definitely a special place for them now, and he would love to return there in the future

Ren: hmmm … I have enjoyed filming all my shows, however, if I had to choose one only, … then I would say, "Dark Moon" … I have so much great memories from the set, my character Katsuki was very complicated and challenging, and I enjoyed the journey that led me to find my version of him!

The crowd laughed at Ren's admission, they liked how honest and relatable he was … they clapped and the host spoke again saying: I assumed you ate more than everyone here, I guess I was wrong … well then, let's have our next question

Audience member #6: Hi … I'm personally curious Tsuraga-san … are you the type of guy to date for a long time, and live together with your partner, … or are you the type to get married right away?

Ren smiled and nodded to the questions then said: If you want my honest answer, I would say, I would get married!

The crowd was shocked … with some shouting in horror fearing their idol will be getting hitched right before their eyes!

Ren chuckled then continued: In all honesty, I like to keep some traditions, perhaps I see my parents as my idols and I want to follow their ways … I want to marry the love of my life rather than just live together without having anything official to show off … like a wedding ring

The crowd calmed down hearing his reasonable explanation … thinking and hoping he has yet to meet the love of his life and that Kana is just his partner for now

The host: So, you like a bit of tradition, that's nice … I'm sure the lucky girl would be very happy! … and surely your parents are so proud of you!

Ren nodded and said: I'm ready for the next question

Audience member #7 a male this time, ..., he asked: I'm interested to know what kind of sports do you do … do you enjoy watching sports?

Ren: Hmm … When I was young I did a bit of Tennis, and lots of martial arts! … as of now, I try to train in the gym from time to time, just to stay fit and in shape for my roles … I don't really have much time to watch Tv, let alone sports, but … if you ask me, I would enjoy watching football, a world cup is a fun event that brings the world together

The guy nodded and smiled, thanking Ren for answering his question

The host: we're getting to our last two questions! … go ahead sir … what's your question

Audience member #8 another guy, who seemed a little older and his smile seemed a little off-putting, but Ren smiled and waited for him to ask his question

The guy asked: You're from LME as we all know, and … I'm curious, you must know Kyoko from your agency … do you think the news about her is true?! … is her mother an actual hooker who slept with countless men leaving Kyoko unsure who her dad is?!

Ren's smile disappeared from his face for a quick couple of seconds before he smiled again with his ultra-shiny gentleman smile … he looked down thinking for a second before answering: To be honest, this isn't a topic I should be talking about … as I don't have permission to talk about someone else's life, … if you are simply asking for my opinion, then I would say, I don't really believe those types of rumors, especially since there is no proof or evidence to validate their claims! … I don't think they have any, … of that I'm sure!

He stopped and looked serious again, saying: I think that people should avoid listening to lies that don't have any grounds … those types of news are toxic and are just there to hurt the people they are targeting for whatever reason

The guy reasoned: so, you think it's those four girls who bullied her? do you think that the backlash they received caused them to become vicious and attack her like that?

Ren: I'm not trying to accuse anyone, and I'm not sure they are behind this, but … whoever it is, I'm sure they are not doing it out of love or care … they are aiming to hurt and insult people on groundless accusations, and that's not fair … regardless, this matter should remain private, as any type of feud shouldn't be done publicly, no matter the reason!

The host: I agree with you wholeheartedly … we, in showbiz lead some type of public life since we share a part of our lives with the people, but that doesn't mean I want to bring my personal and private life into the limelight

Audience member #8 wondered: but then, why are people getting involved and revealing more information online? … I mean there is this dude, Fuwa Sho, he said he knows Kyoko personally, and that his uncle works with her mother and they are lawyers!

Ren looked flabbergasted for a moment there, hearing Sho's name still bothered him to some extent … but hearing Sho came out and revealed such info concerned him even more, he took a deep breath and said: I can't really comment on that … people are free to react the way they want to, but in the same time, they should be mindful to how others feel

Audience member #8: I mean, he's defending her right?! … he knows the truth so they should come out and point it out! … don't you think?

Ren smiled and said: I can't say that what he did is wrong or right, for that matter … I think it's all about intentions and having permission to speak, some information is sensitive and private, and therefore even if you're trying to reveal or defend someone, you need to do it with caution, especially in this industry

Audience member #8: what do you mean?!

Ren: for example, if someone is seen with another, and a rumor comes out they are dating, there are things to consider … 1- why the people involved remain quiet despite the news being false, 2- what their agency thinks of the news and how they deal with it, 3- why those people want to keep quiet even if the news is correct

The audience clapped agreeing with Ren's points

The host: that's very true, I have heard of stories where some actor or singer wants to deny something but their agency asks them to remain silent … it happens all the time

Ren: that's true, there had been a situation where I stayed quiet and the Agency agreed, and sometimes I felt like saying something, but listened and stayed quiet… sometimes, you know the news is incorrect and you're not pressured to be quiet, but choose to be, as it helps keep your own life private

He looked at the audience and said: I understand that people are curious about any aspect of our lives since we do spend a big part of our lives publicly, however, we still have the right to keep things about our lives private … as it does relate to the people we care about, be it our parents, family members, loves interests or just our friends who have no interest in being in the limelight … that's especially why some people choose to have stage names because they want to protect a part of their lives that is private and their own

People clapped and cheered agreeing with Ren's argument … he was right and people likes his honest replay

The host ended that topic and moved on to the last question

Audience member #9 smiled and said: Hi … I would like to ask you something I have been wondering about since you did "Dark Moon" … I was wondering if you were allowed to film in Hollywood, would you leave Japan for good?!

Ren nodded and smiled … he thought for a good minute before replaying: That a good question, if I end up getting an opportunity I would have to move there, at least for a few months … I personally think that such opportunity is precious, and I would really consider taking it, but I can't leave Japan and my audience behind …. Rest assured, even if I go to Hollywood one day, I would still return and do projects in Japan, as I don't want to abandon my fans who helped me reach where I am today

He looked away then looked at the host and continued: I also have precious people and memories here, that I can't possibly leave behind! … I will surely want to come back, … even if it means I have to go back and forth between the US and Japan … it might be tough, but it's worth it!

With that, the segment ended and the interview continued for a little while longer before they wrapped it all up … Ren waved to the audience before walking off stage … he thanked the staff and the host backstage … then he was escorted back to his dressing room … Ren smiled like a gentleman and told the person he was fine on his own and walked away… as he got closer to his dressing room, his expression started to change to one of anger and disdain … he opened the door and got in calmly, closing the door behind him immediately

His anger was mainly about the question he was asked about Kyoko … it really bothered him that he didn't think of that possibility … in the same time, he was angry for Kyoko's sake that people are believing that crap

He was also very angry that Sho inserted himself into the matter, he wondered: (does she know what he did?!) … he sighed and walked to his bag, taking out his phone … he looked at it without opening it … he put his phone down and sighed heavily … trying to control his anger

Sho swore under his breath … he turned around, kicked the table away, and walked out like a sore loser … he looked at her one more time before slamming the door behind him as he left

Yashiro: That was amazing and clever Kyoko-chan!

Ren nodded without complaining … as long as Kyoko was there, he didn't care! … he will do whatever to be by her side

The three of them went to Ren's place after a long disagreement about what to eat … Kyoko settled that she will cook and that Ren's place already had everything she needed

She cooked a meal, with the help of Ren, who joined her swiftly, taking advantage of the free unexpected cooking lesson … Yashiro stayed out of their way for three reasons

1- He wanted them to be together as long as possible

2- He didn't want to be the third wheel

3- He didn't know much about cooking himself, and wasn't in the mood to crash a free lesson from Kyoko

Yashiro enjoyed the meal and gave Ren the thumbs up saying he's all ready for his new role

Ren laughed and said the taste didn't matter, the cooking itself is what he needed to improve making everyone in the room laugh

Yashiro decided to leave early, giving Ren and Kyoko more space and time together

Kyoko stayed a little while longer … she loved the feeling of safety that she felt around him and couldn't get enough of it … she also felt stronger just by seeing him … they sat and talked, about little things

She told him about her plans, worries, and everything in between

By the time it was 11 pm, Ren drove her home … and wished her good night

To no one's surprise, Nanami was back at it again

This time she had Boost Magazine write an article about how Kyoko's father never came to learn about the pregnancy, blaming Kyoko's mother for cutting him off completely.

Although it was true Kioshi didn't know about Kyoko, the lies were scattered in the details … the breakup, the drama, and how her father found about her were all made up stories

To Nanami's surprise, the reactions to the news were weird … it's as if Ren's words had some type of magic that made people look at the article in doubt

Kyoko came to learn about the news from Todoh-san who came to join them for breakfast

Saena had woken up at 4, as she couldn't really sleep well … she tried to go back to sleep but couldn't … her mind was going in circles full of dark thoughts … her mental state was slowly crumbling, and she didn't know what to do about it!

She decided to cook breakfast herself, … but because of her absent mind, she had burned her first two attempts … Kyoko joined her once she started her third attempt and managed to make them well thanks to Kyoko's attentiveness

Todoh sat down, and ate breakfast with the mother-daughter duo … after they finished breakfast, he decided to check the internet, to make sure nothing new came out thanks to Sho's involvement, but as he thought, Nanami had responded by her sad story/article

He said: There is more news today …

Saena's face dropped hearing that news … she knew to expect that, but still, … the news was coming out every two days, and she has yet to know how bad it could be

Kyoko frowned and asked: what is it this time around?

Todoh read the article to them then commented: she's making up sad stories now!

Todoh: she didn't care her son was planning to turn himself in, so, I'm not sure she would care if we damaged his reputation

Saena: that's true, she's trying to turn her son into the victim in all this … she might stop if we threaten her that we will reveal the truth about what he did

Todoh: It's a tough call … I mean, I personally think if we do that privately it could have a good effect, … but it can also backfire, as that old lady seems fearless

Kyoko: then she can be added to the mix, isn't she just as involved in that plan anyway?!

Saena: that's true

Todoh crossed his arms thinking deeply about it … then said: this plan can go two ways … it can either go for our benefit and make that women stop … or it can backfire, and she can accuse us of threatening her freedom of speech, she made things up and someone will allow believe her

Kyoko nodded, then said: we can't even stop her, can we?!

Saena: but didn't I already say that I didn't want to … I don't want her to remain here any longer! … we don't know when she's leaving anyway!

Todoh: that's the point Mogami!

Kyoko: what do you mean?

Todoh: you didn't want to press charges on him for that reason, and plus you gave him your word … but that doesn't apply to that woman… besides, she's gone too far, and we don't know if she is willing to go further … which in my opinion, I'm sure she would!

She dismissed that thought knowing that not only Todoh-san was on her side, but also Katagiri-san … maybe also her other co-worker too

Lory: not so fast! … I still have other things to get to, but I'm almost done with the paperwork!
