"Another Megidolaon just like we thought, at least this boss isn't too creative in how if fights us." Adachi said. "Though it still has a lot of HP left so the fight might take a while."
"You have a point, still right now our strategy definitely is working and we're able to deal some damage each turn." Dojima said in agreement. "Kanji boosts our strength and while it's up he'll attack, and when Matarukaja wears off he can use it again."
"Do you think that'll help us beat the bad guy dad?" Nanako asked hopefully.
"Of course it will, we'll keep everybody healthy and if we start to run out of energy we have a few of those Soul Foods right?" Adachi.
"Yeah, they give back 100 SP points each so if it becomes necessary Kanji can boost everyone's SP." Dojima said calmly. "Now then though, we don't need to use it quite yet so another round or two of dealing damage before we switch Kanji over to supporting the others."
"Ok, you're really smart dad." Nanako said with a smile as Dojima had Junes Dojima and Yosuke attack Izanami before Yukiko healed the four of them to full strength and Kanji tried Torrent Shot and got three hits.
"That was convenient, and the it looks like she's more than a quarter beaten. Maybe even a third of her HP is gone." Adachi said thoughtfully as the boss hit the part with another Megidolaon.
"Yeah, this is going almost too easily." Dojima said as he had the party go through their strategy again. "Plus there's the orb Igor gave us, I have a feeling there's more to this battle than meets the eye."
"Well if her HP is that low maybe something happens when we get her down to half her HP?" Adachi said thoughtfully. "I mean I doubt they'd put another boss after Izanami."
"We'll see, then again given the time we should try to beat the boss quickly. We have just around an hour before Nanako and I need to head to the train station." Dojima said calmly. "At this rate we should have enough time though."
"Do you think we can help big bro for real?" Nanako asked as Izanami charged up.
"Well if we're lucky then yeah we can." Dojima said before having Junes Dojima and Yosuke attack while Yukiko healed them and Kanji boosted their attack again. "Still, I have my doubts Adachi would do what this game is suggesting."
"Of course I wouldn't, it's saying I'm going to kill people and you know I never would." Adachi said quickly. "I mean I'm a police officer and it was for a lot more than just the chance to own a gun."
"I know, but if you don't and these murders don't occur several people in Inaba will end up worse off in the end." Dojima said before looking at the screen. "As it stands the only way I can see you not having to commit these murders is for your power to somehow end up in someone else's hands."
"Dad, wasn't that lady supposed to be dying already?" Nanako asked suddenly. "Big bro was seeing it at the beginning of the game, right?"
"You're right, but that means Adachi couldn't have been responsible since he was here with us." Dojima said in surprise. "Things just got even more complicated than before."
"Then… what does that mean?" Adachi asked as Izanami hit them with a charged Megidolaon. "Did us playing this endanger the whole town?"
"I doubt it would go that far, but if Mayumi Yamano does end up dead it means someone else is responsible." Dojima said calmly. "Which means we should at least try to help them find the culprit."
"Do you think we can dad?" Nanako asked.
"We're going to halve to." Dojima said before having the party attack Izanami again. "Then again, whoever sent us this game clearly was expecting something to happen. The question is what?"
"Well whatever it is we need to figure it out, the entire town is counting on us." Adachi said.
"Yeah, we need to stop the bad guy and make sure everybody is ok." Nanako said in agreement while Izanami charged up again.
"Ok… well we can survive when she charges up though Yukiko is starting to run a bit low on SP so this time Kanji should heal that up." Dojima said thoughtfully before having Junes Dojima and Yosuke attack Izanami, Yukiko heal everyone, and Kanji use one of their Soul Foods on Yukiko. "This is going well so far but I have a feeling we haven't started the real battle yet."
"Now that you mention it, the fight is really easy. Do you think there's someone more powerful than Izanami?" Adachi asked.
"Dad, what about that thing we got?" Nanako asked. "From Igor?"
"The thing we got from Igor, oh that Orb of Sight." Adachi said. "That might be it, but how do we use it?"
"I don't know, but for now all we can do is keep attacking her and see what happens." Dojima said thoughtfully.
"You have a point, but we're running low on energy." Adachi said. "It might be a good idea to just use normal attacks for a while in case we need to save up our SP."
"That's a good point Adachi, though I have a feeling things are going to be a lot harder soon." Dojima said.
"Wait a minute Dojima-san, do you think that maybe whoever sent us this game has something to do with it?" Adachi asked.
"I think so, but I have a feeling they aren't the culprit." Dojima said calmly. In fact, if I'm right the person who sent us this is someone we've already met in the game.
(The final boss battle is continuing, and Nanako, Adachi, and Dojima have realized that if the murders in Inaba do occur Adachi cannot be the culprit. Next chapter the second phase of the boss battle will start. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
