Chapter Five

Fork, Washington – La Push
Leah Clearwater (P)

Life is Strange.

Hella Strange.

I'm sitting in our meeting place with my brother, who has shockingly been silent this entire time and my future self, who was currently leaning against a wall with her arms crossed.

I glared at her

I had to admit it but she…I…We look damn fucking attractive.

I mean, I know I'm hot as fuck to begin with but future me is HAAAAWT. The swagger, the confidence, the fucking defined muscles that suit us tastefully. Not to mention the power. The way she effortlessly knocked out Sam then manhandled anger-fueled Paul as a wolf.

No wonder that icy fucker wanted a piece.

But it was strange…Future me was a mom and mated to an icy and it was odd. Hell, even in their brief interaction, it was obvious the icy was the submissive between the two of them. Just what the hell was my future self?

"Catch!" Future me said as she tossed me a phone.

I caught it and then eyed her curiously.

"It's for you to take a picture," She responded with a smirk.

Of course the bitch would say that old saying like that.

I blinked before I launched it back at her as hard as I could but she caught it effortlessly and slipped it back into her pocket. Soon, my mom and Billy Black came in and the minute they did, both of them let out a sharp gasp.

I saw my mom look to Seth and me and then back to Future me. "Oh my god!" My mom yelled in shock.

"How can this be?" I heard Billy asked future me.

"Hey Chief…Hey mom…" Future me said with a wistful smile. "I'll explain it all…Trust me. Just take a seat and wait for the others, okay?" She asked.

The pair nodded and after mom pushed Billy to the end of the row, she saw me and quickly rushed to me and said "You're here…And yet you're up there…"

"I know…I went through this earlier…She's me from the future…" I explained.

"How? That shouldn't be possible," she whispered at me, her voice in a panic.

"I'm new to this too but trust me, I know she speaks the truth so let's just wait and hear me…her…god this is confusing. Just hear that Leah out," I said with a grumble.

Five minutes passed and now, the entire pack began to fill into our meeting area, and surprisingly, even the Quileute council members showed up. "Packed house tonight," I mumble to Seth, who looked around and nodded.

What was on his mind?

"Finally. If you guys were going to take any longer, I was going to have to go hunting," Future me said as she pushed herself off the wall with a grin.

"Let's begin with this. Who are you and why do you look like Leah Clearwater?" Billy asked immediately.

"Alright, cool. Jumping right into it. That's why I always liked you Billy," Future me said with a laugh. "Alright, essentially, my name is Leah Clearwater. Daughter of Harry and Sue Clearwater and older sister to Seth Clearwater. I was in a relationship with the asshole back there nursing his face until he and Emily got together. Tough time."

I flinched at this and scowled, my hands balling up into fists.

"Having to see his memories like when they kissed and when they had sex to all the sweet nothings he would whisper. The nickname of Butterfly….Seeing those things BEFORE the shift made me get angrier and angrier at feeling unwanted and betrayed until finally, poof. Shape-Shifter time…I destroyed my favorite couch, killed my father by being the first female shifter and caused my poor baby brother to shit as well…After that up until this point, I became a bitch and caused all my fellow shifters a lot of well by being the ghost of things they wish to forget. Now everyone in Sam's pack, all sound familiar?"

There were sounds of begrudging agreement.

"Sam, hey Sunshine, you hear me back there?" Future me asked.

I winced…

If there was any doubt that she wasn't me, she just disproved them.

It was even more painful when I heard Sam's weak reply of "Don't call me that…"

"Good, so memories. Mine…All of you shifters except for the elders can smell that I am Leah Clearwater, yes?" Future me asked.

Everyone nodded.

"Good, now that we've cleared that up. I'm here from the future and let me say, we're fucked," Future me said, her tone serious.

"What do you mean?" Embry's calm voice asked.

"I mean things are going to get really bad. Long story short, we've been essentially babied at the fact that the all Vampires were like the Cullens and rightfully so. They were the first here so they were the ones we were familiar with. Well, for Jacob, me, Seth and Embry, our first wake-up call was Victoria."

"Victoria?" Seth asked.

"Yes. A very spiteful and evil vampire who was after Bella Swan. Yes Billy and Mom, that Bella and yes, she knows about the Cullens and was/is actually dating one of them. Sorry Jacob, and thanks to Jacob, Embry, myself and Seth, she will find out about us and no, Charlie never found out. He never had the chance to," Future me said.

I could see Jacob's disappointed, Billy's shock then annoyance and then disappointment as well.

"Victoria tried to kill her but it was I that saved her ass. She spent a few months in an emotional coma that I was quite familiar with and together, we both pulled each other out of it. She's like my sister now," Future Leah said, a warm smile on her face.

All of that from Bella Swan?

Hm…

"So while the four of us and Bella were gone, Victoria showed up, tortured Charlie into telling her where Bella was but Charlie never did and died as a result…" Future Leah said with a sad smile to our mom, who looked surprisingly heartbroken by this.

I wonder why…

"This incident inspired Sam to try and become Police Officer of the Supernatural World or the POSW as we used to say. So he began to train us to kill any and all vampires and because of how close Jacob, Billy and mom was to Charlie and seeing them hurt, we were all amped up to try and kill any vampire that came our way…." Future me paused and let out a deep sigh.

"With the backstory set, let's get into the main meat of it all. In three years' time, a very strong vampire named Astaroth and his army is going to destroy the Volturi. They are the elders of the vampires. The ones that make the rules that all vampires must abide by. They are going to strike quick and fast across various nations. We all tried to fight to protect everyone in Forks but….Let's just say that didn't work and by the end of it all, Embry, Myself, Seth and Jacob were all that we left. All of you were slaughtered and feasted upon…."

The entire group gasped in horror.

While I sat there…numb.

My mother…my friends…even Sam and Emily…All gone….

"That can't be true!" Paul stood up, enraged.

"Calm your tits before I put you down again," Future me said with a threatening tone. Paul growled but sat back down. "It happened. The four of us knew things were going belly up but Sam wanted to be the big bad savior. That didn't turn out so well…We tried to save as many as we could…Quil even stayed behind to buy us time but…nothing worked…"

"So we met up with the Cullens…the remainder of them and we built an alliance of sorts that turned into something akin to family and I swear to god Sam and Paul, if either of you stand up to try and yell at me, I will do Astaroth a solid and rip you both to shreds myself!" Future me roared out.

There was something in her voice. Something menacing. It was triggering my fight or flight. I could hear every shifter in the room begin to shake. Even Sam…What in the hell?

"I had to think about my group's survival and teaming up with them was the best call. I did what I had to do and I don't regret it…If any of you were in my shoes, you would understand," Future me said with conviction in her voice.

After a few minutes of panting, she continued with "Through the next few years, our little resistance became the last bastion of hope for both humans and vampires alike but no matter what we did to survive, our little hideaways would always be found by Astaroth and his army,"

Her voice began to tremble, along with her body but I couldn't if it was due to sorrow or rage… "It was literally like clockwork. Every time we got a little bit of hope, it would crash and burn but throughout all the loses, losing Seth, who basically became the heart of our new family, I shattered…I longed for death at anyone's hands…Suicide mission after suicide mission, only I would survive. I lost Jacob to one…I lost Embry to another…Zafrina, Benjamin, Tia…Only I was left…"

I could see my mother begin to rise, no doubt to attempt to console her…me…us…but I held her down by her arm. She looked at me with tears in her eyes and I merely shook my head.

"Not yet mom…" I told her sadly. "Let her finish…"

"It was then, at my lowest, I saw a child. She was dying….the only way I could save her was to have the Cullens save her and they did. The first thing she said when she woke up was "Thank you" to me of all people…." Future me laughed sadly.

"It was then realized that maybe it was fate that bought me to this lowest point to save her life….She had been robbed everything like I did. That girl was the girl I had with me tonight and despite her being a vampire, she is my daughter and one of the reasons I kept living…The other being the woman I want to make my wife….Alice Cullen," Future me finished with a warm smile but shockingly, no one said a word.

I could feel it in the air that everyone in the room found her words, her sorrow and warmth all true. I think Paul and Sam even felt a little guilty for showing their ass earlier…

"Because of them and the work of Carlisle Cullen, I was able to achieve a power that was long extinct before we came around…And I have the ability to give it all to you. The reason we came back to the past was to stop all of it from happening. All of the death, all of the destruction…All the anguish and the reason I bared my soul out here, in front of all of you, is this….The treaty has to be broken," She said.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Billy shouted. "We hear the truth in your words and heart. We understand the pain that is coming but that treaty-"

"Is bullshit compared to the hell that is coming our way," Future me interrupted. "We, the ones from the future know that we have the ability to stop this and we need the powers of your time's version of the Cullens. Right now, they are weak. Weaker than the Volturi, way weaker than Astaroth and that is because they are vegetarians and keeping with the treaty. Human blood is what makes them stronger and we need all the advantages and vampires that will side with us and guess what, most of them drink blood…"

"This is foolishness," Another elder said. "Unlike Billy, I do not believe a word. This could all be a trick by those vampires to weaken us and to have them have a buffet."

Future Leah rolled her eyes. "Fine…I guess I'll have to do it this way….Embry!"

"Yeah?!" Embry called out.

"Shift now," Leah said.

Embry shrugged and with great difficulty, morphed into a wolf.

"Alright…All of you better sit back and enjoy the show because I believe it's time to show all of you what beast I hold within me…" Future Leah said before hunched forward and began to pant.

It was then I felt it…

There was a pulse of something coming from her.

She fell to one knee, which cracked upon impact and let out a deep, guttural growl as she hunched down against the ground.

Another pulse…

She slammed her fist against the ground, causing another crack against it as her eyes began to glow a pale yellow as her body began to bulge and expand. Her mouth began to stretch and her and become covered with fur.

I could see every shifter in the room begin to shrink and fear as she began to grow double her size, her clothes ripping to reveal gray fur.

She reared up and let out a roar as another pulse flew from her. The lights began to flicker rapidly as her clothes fully ripped apart, showing her slim, yet muscular furry body. She rose up on her hind, reverse bent legs and let out a howl and which caused the room to shake from how deep it was along with completely forcing the lights off.

She lowered her head and stared at the wolf, her glowing yellow eyes looking ominous in the darkness, her low, heaving breaths shaking the very essence of my soul.

This…This was something….

What the hell was this?

The eyes narrowed in my direction before it looked to Embry's shaking wolf form.

"How?" I whispered in shock.

I could hear the panicked whispers and through the dark, I could make out the fearful expressions at my future self and after five minutes, Future me said in a low and guttural voice "It is done…"

The yellow eyes faded away and the lights began to flicker back on and there Future me sat, buck ass naked with a satisfied smirk on her face. A few rows down, I saw Embry, in his future form, sitting with a stunned expression on his face.

After another three minutes, Embry came to his senses and said "She is telling the truth. We are so fucked if things go the way they do…"

"And that settles that," Future me said with a pleased tone.

"What are you?" Billy asked.

"That is what I call "The Beast Within" but in mythology, this form belongs to the "Children of the Moon" AKA A werewolf…." She replied with a smirk. "The power to kill a vampire solo…The strength, the power is all mine…But as a shape-shifter, I have some additional perks. I'm hella broken."

"What all can you do?" I asked.

"As a human, my durability, my strength, my speed, my agility, my endurance, my senses matches all of yours in wolf form. My regen abilities are nearly the same as a vampire but it can take longer. For example…" She pointed to her right arm, which had a scar at the bicep. "Got this bad boy ripped off in one of my missions. I was able to re-attach it but it took about a three days. But while I've gotten stronger, a vampire's venom can kill me like it can you guys in both human and wolf form."

"Cool," Seth drawled out with starry eyes and admittedly, I was right there with him.

"The form I changed into just now is not fully a werewolf but what I call "The Beast Within." It is like a mixture of our normal wolf abilities and a werewolf's abilities. I can willfully change into it and control it at all times. All of my abilities are doubled and I can nearly take down a vampire on my own. And added bonus is that my skills fully eclipses any of yours in wolf form but I can still be injured by a vampire's venom. Not to the extent of death but it can knock me on my ass for a day or two. Learned that the hard way…"

"Now for the big gun…My full werewolf form…Well…In that form, the moon must be full. I am nigh unbeatable at that state. While I wouldn't be able to kill any vampire in my human form and struggle to kill one in my Beastly form, I can solo a vampire easily in that form. My healing abilities becomes vampire level. When I lost my leg once, I was thankfully under control. I was able to stick it back on. Three minutes later, fully healed with no scar either. I become impervious to a vampire's venom, making their transformative and pain producing properties nothing… and I can potentially create my own werewolves through the poisonous blood I have running through my veins. However, despite how powerful I can become, I virtually have no control over that form."

"Why is that?" Sam questioned.

"After my first transformation, Carlisle thinks the only reason I can initiate the transform into it on a full moon and have control over it for as long as I do is due to my shapeshifting abilities, I can only control it for five minutes beneath the full moon. After that, I lose my mind to the insanity."

"Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is the law of Equivalent exchange…" Embry said.

"Exactly. The full Werewolf change is beneficial but I have to morph and unmorph within that five minutes because once the insanity begins, I won't be able to change back until the sun rises. I won't be able to tell friend from foe and my memory becomes fucked. Also, I start to crave the flesh of humans nearby…So yeah, it's brutal…" Leah finished.

"So! With all that said…" Future Leah placed her hands behind her head and asked "Now…Anyone else want to fuck with me today?"

Nothing but silence.

"No? Good. Now here is what is going to happen. All of us and the vampires will meet here and either abolish or rework the treaty to where we can work together. After that, all of us will train until we are a cohesive unit for this oncoming threat. Anyone that decides to go against this, I will rip of your fucking balls. Elder or not…Got it?!" Future me shouted.

Once again, there was silence.

"Good. Meeting dismissed!" Future me shouted before she looked to me, Seth and our mom. "I'm getting chilly and hungry. Can we go out to eat tonight?"

Forks, Washington – Cullen Residence
Bella Swan (F)

It was easy to spot my past self.

Her scent was very striking compared to any other humans.

Citrus…

Nice.

I was an orange and lime girl before my own change. Makes sense that my human self would have that scent. She was sitting by ol'reliable. I really did miss that truck.

Taking a running start, I performed a flip over the truck and landed beside my human self and said "Ta-Da!"

She jumped in alarm and said "Yeesh! I thought we were above pulling an Emmett!"

"You thought wrong Human me," I said with a toothy smile. She scoffed at this but I still saw small grin on her face but it fell away, replaced by a thoughtful look.

"This is so weird…You really are me…." Bella said.

"Yeah…This is all weird to me too," I admitted before I poked her arm.

"What was that for?" Bella asked.

"Ruling out some time theory myths. So touching you didn't cause some cataclysmic event so that's score one for us," I said, which caused her to laugh.

"Was I always such a dork?" Bella asked.

"Always," I replied.

"You do realize that us talking is the equivalent of Future Trunks meeting his baby past self, right?" Bella asked.

"I had that thought earlier," I answered. "Yo! We should totally cosplay as future and present Trunks at some point!"

"Oh that would be so fun!" Bella exclaimed. "But you'd need a sword though…"

"I already got that part down," I said before I lifted up my hand. "Observe…" I lifted my right arm and began to focus until a very narrow force-field formed around my arm and stretched past it, forming a shimmering, iridescent sword.

"Wow...Looking at it so close…It's beautiful," Bella noted.

"Everything thinks of a force field as only just a shield to protect but…" I ran forward and ran my newly created weapon through a tree, cleaving through it effortlessly. "There is so much more it can be used for…"

The tree began to fall and before it could, I caught it with one hand and launched it away from us before I turned around to see Bella's stunned face.

I smirked.

"Whoa…You were so fast…" She murmured.

"You should see me when I'm in combat," I told her before the blade slowly floated off my arm and formed medium sized bubble. I gently tapped it towards Bella, who grabbed it and tilted her head.

"It's so soft and smooth," Bella said with a smile.

"I can control the shape, the size, the hardness and softness of them. They can be as sharp as a sword or as gentle as a bubble," I said before swiftly expanding the bubble to surround her. She shrieked and looked around her.

"But most importantly…" I reared back and landed the hardest punch I could against it and smirked as the shield withstood it. "It can defend against anything that's thrown at it."

I then poked the bubble, which caused it to pop. Bella stumbled back onto her feet with an awed expression on her face. "I…I can't believe you're so badass…" she said.

"We're badass," I clarified.

"No way…I mean look at you and now look at me," Bella said, gesturing to me and then to herself. "Even though I know we're the same, I feel like we're not….How could I even dream to have that sort of power?"

Was I always so low in confidence?

"Well enough of that nonsense," I told my past self with a stern face. "You and I are one in the same. It may not seem like it but we started from the same cloth. I had to face some shit that forced me into this badass role. You will be able to embrace it naturally when its time."

"You really think so?" Bella asked.

"I know so. I am you after all and we Bella Swans have the ability to become as badass as our family. Maybe even moreso," I said with a determined smirk.

Bella smiled and exclaimed "Fuck yeah!"

The two of us laughed before I asked "So, I saw you sneaking off to your truck. You heading home?"

"Yeah…After what you guys told me about Charlie, I wanted to spend time with him," Bella admitted.

Charlie…

It had been so long since I heard his name like he was alive. In the rush of things, it now hit me that he was alive…

My dad…

"Can I go with you?" I asked her. "I…"

"He'll be shocked at seeing you and me in the same spot but considering the circumstances….I would be angry if you didn't want to see him," Bella responded with a warm smile.

"Thank you," I replied.

On to see Charlie…

I hope this goes well…

Rain: And that is the end of this chapter. The next chapter is going to be the Isabella and Bella meeting with Charlie and that….Whew that is going to be tough. This chapter didn't mean to be so Leah heavy but I realized that in a pack of Male Alphas, she was going to really have to get her point across and even this will pose some issues.
