I'm sorry this is another short one. (SANJANA I PROMISE I AM WORKING ON YOUR THING) LOL XD
I'm so thankful for you if you are reading this right now. Thank you. A million times, thank you! If you'd like to see me try my hand at something (not M rated, not entirely comfortable with that), let me know. I'll do my best with your request. :)
I don't own Jimmy—just these silly excuses for words. This takes place sometime shortly after the series ends.
She's sitting on the couch in Jimmy's lab, trying to concentrate on her reading for English. However, the loud mumbling coming from the other side of the room is somewhat distracting. She looks up to see Jimmy bending over his latest invention. His brow furrowed in concentration.
"Jimmy, is everything okay over there?" Jimmy mumbles louder under his breath, and she finally snaps. "Neutron!"
He looks up, and his eyes widen when he sees her glaring at him. "I was talking to myself again, wasn't I?"
"Yes."
"I can see what I want to accomplish, but it's how to do it that keeps slipping away from me!"
She pats the couch cushion next to her. "Take a break; it might help. Besides, you haven't done any homework, and if you want to keep up with me, you can't slack off."
He shrugs. "Maybe you're right."
"You know I am."
He brushes his hands together as if he's wiping the remnants of his frustration off them and comes to sit down. "What are you working on?"
"I was trying to do English, but it's very distracting when you go all mad scientist on me."
He gives her an apologetic look. "Sorry."
She rolls her eyes but playfully nudges his elbow with hers. He smiles at her, and she smiles back. The moment stretches and slows as it often does when he is this close to her. His eyes bore into her head like two pinpricks of light. The threads of the tight cloak of distrust she's woven about herself loosen a tad. Her heart is hammering, her fingertips thrumming with the urge to reach out and take his hand in hers. Traitorous warmth floods her cheeks. She snaps her head back to her English book. "Do your homework, Neutron."
In the corner of her eye, she sees his smile get wider. She tries not to show how it makes her heart go soft around the edges. "Whatever you say, Vortex."
