Men in Black and DC crossover

The drive to the scientists' house wasn't a long one normally but Vodka was driving a bit slower than normal right now, partially because of the rain and partially because he wanted to give his partner in the back seat a bit more time to cuddle his girlfriends shrunken form. God Vodka had no idea how Gin could look so calm, even if he didn't seem happy, about this. If that was his girlfriend shrunken and about to go off on a mission that might takes years…Vodka didn't know how he'd react or look but he doubted he'd be half as composed or calm as Gin was now. Finally though they had made it to the street and Vodka found the poorly lit end of the street that Sherry had described, one of the overhead street lights seemed to have been broken.

Was that because of some random punk kids or had the Organization arranged that? Honestly it could be either one at the moment and he still wouldn't be surprised.

"We're here." Vodka said softly as he parked the car and Gin tightened his arms around Sherry just a bit before he released her. She reached her tiny arms up and hugged him around the neck one last time though before she leaned towards the drivers seat and hugged Vodka's neck as well as she could with how tiny her arms were now.

"Watch out for him please." Sherry requested quietly and Vodka gave a small snort sound.

"Of course I will. I'm his partner after all." Vodka said smirking a little but went quiet when she hugged his neck again.

"And watch out for yourself too. I don't know what he would do if he lost you, whether I was away on a mission or not." Sherry said quietly still and Vodka gave a small smile. He knew the sassy little spitfire with a tongue of acid cared about him, but it was nice of her to show it and worry a bit.

"Yeah I'll be careful Sher-bear. But it's time for you to go isn't it?" Vodka asked, hating to ask it but someone had to and Gin sure as hell wasn't.

"Remember. Ten minutes. Not a second more or I'm going to grab you and bring you back to the car." Gin reminded her, making her nod and kiss his cheek one last time before she opened the car door and jumped out.

"I'll call you guys as soon as I get my cover set up properly or learn anything new." Sherry said making the two of them nod before she closed the door and began walking towards the Kudo mansion, making sure that she looked like she was exhausted and staggering by placing her hand on the wall that seemed to surround most of the houses.

The two men watched as the small shrunken scientist made her way to the Kudo house and then seemed to collapse in front of it.

"Vodka start the timer. Ten minutes exactly." Gin ordered immediately, making the burly man let out a noise of agreement as he started watching his watch avidly. He didn't like this either, but he wasn't as….close to Sherry as Gin was so he could at least claim to remain unbiased on the time limit. If he happened to jump the gun a few seconds early though…well no one else would have to know now would they?

At seven minutes Gin and Vodka got ready to go and retrieve their wayward redhead, but stayed back for now since Gin did agree to wait ten minutes.

At nine and a half minutes Vodka was beginning to open his door when he caught sight of something at the other end of the street. He quickly identified who it was before sighing and closing the door back all the way.

"You see him too then." Gin said making Vodka nod once and they watched as the old looking man stopped for a few seconds at the sight of Sherry and then hurriedly picked her up, bundling her in his arms and carrying her towards his house. They watched as she was taken inside of the small manor and the door was shut behind the two of them.

"That's Sherry now, confirming she's in and safe. She didn't feel anyone watching or any of that 'Evil intent' stuff that usually saves her life." Gin said when his phone dinged a moment later and making Vodka nod as the taller man got out of the back seat and instead moved to the passenger side seat of the Porsche, being careful not to get his seats wet at all.

"That's good then." Vodka said optimistically and only earned a non-committal hum from his partner.

"Aniki…" Vodka trailed off for a moment as he stared at his partner who seemed a bit introverted or rather…dampened without the sassy acid-spewing spit fire around.

"Do you want to join Kir and I for dinner tonight? It's her turn to cook and she mentioned making an American dish this time. You know she wouldn't mind at all." Vodka offered as he began to drive away, back towards headquarters where he could pick up his own car in order to go home since he was already over his work hours for today. Kir would be expecting him any minute now actually.

"No. It's an uncommon date night thing for you two. Enjoy it. I'll just spend time with Emma, might make a few cracks at the pirate bastard if he's around." Gin said shaking his head in the negative and Vodka shot his partner a confused look for half a second.

"Uncommon? Aniki Kir and I live together. The only thing uncommon about us taking turns to cook and eating together is that we'll both be home at a semi-decent hour this time." Vodka said making Gin look surprised and stunned at this.

"You live with her now? When did that happen?" Gin asked looking thrown for a minute, and Vodka knew Sherry leaving had affected him more than he had shown. If Vodka was being able to clearly read his partner and his emotions like he was now…yeah Gin was being hit hard at the loss of his secret girlfriend.

"Didn't I tell you Aniki? I moved in with her, at her own insistence, about three months ago. We wanted to see if we'd be able to live with each other long term since we've been dating for a while and I've practically been living in her place anyways for at least a week before that thanks to my apartment being fumigated." Vodka said looking confused. He could have sworn that he had told his older brother figure about that when it had happened.

"This is the first I'm hearing of it! But good for you. Everything still going good or have you two gotten on each others final nerves yet?" Gin asked deciding to focus on his brother figures relationship instead of his own at the moment.

"Oh…it happened around the Tequila incident so it's no surprise that I forgot to tell you or if I did tell you it's no surprise you'd forget when that went down. But yeah everything's still good for now! It took a few days in the beginning to work out a schedule of sort for the chores and cooking and all but there hasn't been anything major at all yet." Vodka said as he was pulling into the parking garage for the MiBJ and making Gin nod his head slowly.

"That's good. Means there's hope for you two living together long term then huh? Planning on making her a Mrs. soon then?" Gin asked smirking a bit as Vodka parked the Porsche in Gin's reserved parking spot. Vodka went bright red and spluttered a little bit but he didn't deny it and that was the most damning thing to Gin.

"I'm happy for you Vodka, I truly am. But no. I don't think I'll join you two tonight. I'm just…either going to go bug Emma or go home. Say hi to Kir for me though." Gin said as the burly man got out of the car at the same time as Gin himself did as Gin moved towards the drivers side.

"I…I'm making sure that Kir and I can live together for at least a year before I propose to her Aniki…but alright. Maybe some other time huh? You know how much Kir likes letting other people try her native dishes and making sure she can still cook them right. She'd be happy for you to join us one day, even without a warning. I wouldn't mind either. You're always welcome at our place Aniki…remember that." Vodka said staring Gin in the eyes behind his sunglasses and making the silver haired male nod his head slightly to show he heard and understood, and the small smile on his face showed how touched and grateful he really was about the offer.

"I'll definitely tell her you said hi though since today was her day off from MiB. Try not to rile Emma-nee up too much, I don't want to hear about her stabbing you again even if it's never anywhere painful or fatal." Vodka said making Gin snort slightly.

"That was only one time because I scared her by accident after she had watched a few too many horror movies! I'll be by to pick you up in the morning Vodka. Night." Gin said waving the other man off as Vodka snickered and walked towards his own parking spot not too far away.

"Whatever you say Aniki. And yeah that'd be great since Kir needs the car in the morning. Have a good night and I'll see you in the morning." Vodka said and then Gin's phone dinged with a message as he climbed back into his car.

Checking it quickly he saw that it was from Sherry and tensed. Was something wrong? Had she already been attacked? Did the drug have some aftereffects that only popped up later?

Clicking open the message Gin near sagged in relief. Nothing was wrong.

'Good night Gin. Love you, make sure you sleep well and eat something other than noodles.'

"Sherry you silly reckless woman." Gin smiled though as he stared at the message, realizing how much he would miss now that he wouldn't be able to see her anytime he wanted or call her whenever he wanted to even do something as simple as wish her a goodnight.

He quickly typed out a message of his own and hit send before he buckled his seat belt and began to back out of his space, watching as Vodka drove off ahead of him.

'Goodnight Sherry. I love you to, you crazy woman. Don't worry, I'll be spending some time with my twin so we'll eat something more than just noodles or she'd kill me herself. It'll be strange, sleeping without you being in my arms but I think I'll manage. Get some rest yourself and something nice and warm to eat. Maybe chicken soup? It might stave off that cold you must be getting.'

"Now…" Gin mused to himself as he tapped on the wheel and began making his way to his sisters apartment.

"Should I cook something for Emma or should we go out to eat?"
