Men in Black and DC crossover

(A/N: I own nothing read last chapter and Velmiadragon's We Are the Men in Black.)

It was snowing.

Gin had only noticed when a single snowflake fell into his line of vision after he had gotten out of the car.

Snow…it always reminded him of Sherry. Of when he first saw her, picking her up from the airport for Akemi. When he first kissed her on one of the deserted snow-covered parks in Kyoto. When he had finally given into both of their desires and made her his woman in every way but legal, and even then, it was only because she was still too young to fill out a marriage certificate. As soon as she turned twenty, he was going to propose, he already had the ring picked out.

He hadn't heard from her in a while, not in several months aside from the occasional good night text or a reminder to eat something other than noodles. She had said she would keep in contact and call whenever she could but she hadn't done so yet. It had been several months since she had left for the mission to guard the scientist, make sure that Kudo only thought that they were a group of criminals and to hide from whoever wanted her dead. It had been several months and he hadn't received one call from her yet.

Usually his work kept him too busy to think about it, or if not work then his sister or Vodka would try to keep his mind occupied…but…sometimes when work was slow and the weather was just right…he couldn't help but think about her. Was she still safe? Why hadn't she called yet? She wasn't going to fall for Kudo was she?

He had never thought before that a woman could take over his mind and ensnare him so easily, not after the last time, but yet here he was. Completely and willingly ensnared in her web and not wishing for anything at all to be different except maybe her being a year or so older and definitely her being by his side where he could keep an eye out for her and keep her safe.

"Aniki…" Vodka called for his partner whose head snapped around to look at him.

"What?" Gin asked and it probably came out a bit harsher than he meant it to but Vodka didn't take offence.

"You okay? You've been staring at the sky for a while now." Vodka said looking concerned and making Gin glance up at the falling snow one last time. He couldn't help but wonder if she had seen the snow yet? Had she seen it and thought of it while stuck in that Elementary school that was boring her out of her mind? Had she seen it and was thinking of him like he was her?

"Just…watching the snow. It's…special to me." Gin admitted softly as he locked and closed the car door, making Vodka stare at him for a moment longer before giving a sympathetic smile.

"Like the rain is to me." Vodka said nodding slightly and causing Gin to glance at him for a moment before nodding slightly in return.

"Let's just get this over with." Gin said as he shoved his hands in his coat pockets and began walking across the street. It was better to get back to work now. He didn't want to put it off any longer and end up thinking of Sherry anymore for right now. It was time to deal with the terrorist that was supposed to be showing up tonight.

##########################################

It was later that day and Gin wasn't really into anything going on, not even the mission to stop the terrorist at the Mourning Party. Usually he'd be curious about the footprints left all around his car, but he was ready to accept Vodka's thrown out suggestion of someone just looking at it. His car is vintage and a rare type to find in Japan after all.

It was only after his call to Pisco about the plan that his keen eyes caught sight of a single reddish-brown hair and he began to pay attention and straightened up a bit. That was a rare color here in Japan and he knew of only one person who had that color, but why would Sherry be breaking into his car?

The answer? She wouldn't. But someone or something disguised as Sherry would. He could think of four types of disguises that would be able to pull it off right off of the top of his head, and the evidence of the hair took one of those disguises out of the list. So, it was either a shape shifter who had taken Sherry's form, an Engineer who had designed a body to mimic Sherry's or…a skin-wearer who did what their name implied. They took the skin of a human and wrapped it around themselves like a disguise. Like the alien that had killed Akemi and taken her place.

Was it an ally of the Adraxxi terrorist? That would make the most sense. He'd have to call Pisco back and warn him of an alien ally to the terrorist. But before he could do that he should make sure that the alien didn't leave any surprises in the car.

Feeling all of the nooks and crannies around his seat he eventually caught sight of a small black metal glinting from what appeared to be a wad of bubble gum that hadn't been there before.

"What's that Aniki?" Vodka asked tensing when he had noticed his partners distraction and movements.

"Looks like it's a transmitter and receiver." Gin said vaguely as he stared at the small object and there was no doubt about it. It was definitely alien technology, but it was so small that it didn't have any hallmarks of who or which species may have created it. Of course, even if he did know then just cause they created it didn't mean it was one of that species that planted it but it would be a good start. Gin scowled as he crushed the transmitter between his fingers easily.

There was no doubt that whoever was on the other end had heard the conversation he had with Pisco and therefore he would need to call Pisco back and warn him but that would wait for at least a few minutes. There was no telling if there was anything else placed in the car in places he couldn't see or reach right now. Starting the car again, Gin took several backroads and side streets to throw off anyone who might have been following them.

To his credit, Vodka remained quiet and was checking the rearview mirrors for anyone who might be tailing them but gave a discreet signal that it was all clear before Gin parked the car and opened the door.

"Check the car over for anymore surprises while I call Pisco back." Gin ordered his partner who nodded once and took out a scanner from the glovebox. It looked like a simple scanner really but it was designed with alien technology and bug physiology in mind- sometimes the term bug was literal after all. Vodka began scanning the car over from top to bottom and back to front while Gin took a few steps away and called the older MiB agent

"Is something wrong Gin? We just spoke." Pisco asked as soon as he picked up the phone.

"Found a transmitter in my car after I hung up with you earlier. Looks like the terrorist will have a friend over at the Mourning party. Make sure you keep an eye out because Vodka's running a scanner over the car now so we'll be a bit late." Gin said making Pisco sigh heavily.

"I'm getting too old for this." Pisco muttered and Gin hid his smirk as best as he could. Oh he would bet the man was. Pisco was old when Gin had joined the MiB and even before he had joined the man was still older than most active field agents were.

"Do we have any details on what the alien ally will look like?" Pisco asked professionally and making Gin make an affirmative noise in his throat. Yeah, they had a rough idea of what the ally would look like and if it turned out to be true then he was going to be furious.

"Yeah. We think the ally will look like Sherry." Gin said and there was an eerie almost unnerving silence from Pisco for an uncomfortably long time after that tidbit.

"What?" Pisco nearly snarled and Gin hid his own savage grin at being reminded that while Pisco hadn't raised Sherry like he had Akemi…he still considered Sherry to be one of his own brats.

"Found a hair that could only belong to our way ward wine in my car, that's what tipped me off about the transmitter we found. Whoever the ally is, they're likely going to be there as Sherry." Gin said and he heard Pisco let out a growl at that knowledge.

"If I find out this imposter hurt a hair on her head, I'm going to make his death violent, bloody, and brutal." Pisco growled out making Gin smirk. Now he was being reminded as to why Pisco had been able to be a successful field agent for so long. The man was ruthless if those he deemed as his were attacked, and Sherry was very much considered one of his brats.

Gin thanked every deity he could name from various species and religions that Pisco didn't know of his relationship with Sherry yet. They were waiting until Sherry was nineteen to tell the old man that they were dating…and yes Gin was still fully planning on being shot at or threatened at least when Pisco and Irish learned of that fact.

"So we'll both be late then. I'm running a few minutes late myself because of some neighbor kid trying to impress his friends and some girl." Pisco said with a snort of his own and making Gin raise an eyebrow in idle curiosity.

"Oh?"

"Kid has balls I've got to admit. He threw a rock through my upstairs window and then tried to go joy riding in one of my cars, thankfully I managed to spot him sneaking towards the garage and stop him before he could get in the MiB car. He's got lots of guts, just needs some better friends and brains. I'd say he'd be a good agent with some toughening up and training." Pisco said sounding more amused than most people would be at having their property damaged and a car almost stolen, especially a company car with lots of valuable and dangerous technology in it, but Pisco had always been like that. Calm and stern but not really angered easily or often. He also had a good eye for agents with skills or teens/kids who could be good agents with the right motivation and training.

"Message me the kids information and I'll have someone keep an eye on him." Gin said making Pisco give an affirmative sound and it sounded like he was sweeping up the glass.

"Will do. Let me finish cleaning up the mess here and get into a clean suit and I'll head over to the Mourning Party to deal with the Terrorist. I'll also keep an eye out for any fake Sherry's running around. Be safe and happy hunting Gin." Pisco said making Gin smirk again.

"And happy hunting to you as well Pisco." Gin said before hanging up. He never knew that it would be the last thing he ever said to the old man.

"You son of a-" Pisco was cut off when the alien that had ambushed him shortly after he hung up the phone with Gin kicked him across the face. The bastard had snuck in while he dealt with the kid and had waited until Pisco was off of the phone and then the skinless bastard had shot him in the stomach.

"Sorry old man. I need your skin." The alien said and Pisco used that chance to reach for his gun and swing it up while firing it at the same instant.

The bullet struck the alien in the leg, and the bastard swore in several different alien languages as Pisco made a grab for his phone.

"Just for that. I'm going to make this hurt." The alien said kicking the phone away from Pisco with his uninjured leg and then knocking the gun away from Pisco who was already dying and knew it.

"You might kill me…but I know for a fact that you'll be dead before the end of the night." Pisco said with a humorless chuckle as he smirked up at the alien.

Pisco knew nothing but pain for several long minutes after that but he knew he would have the last laugh in the afterlife.

This poor bastard had no idea who exactly he was dealing with.

Pisco knew Gin would send this poor sod to hell soon.
