Men in Black and DC crossover

Despite Vodka's best efforts to not think about it, his mind kept returning to the secret Kir had told him regarding her family history and the revelation of whom she was related to. She was 'that person's' granddaughter, a direct descendant of one of the most powerful men alive who was believed to be dead to the world for forty years or so. The mere thought of it made his stomach clench and the old, painfully familiar voice of self-doubt wormed its way into his brain. A voice that sounded uncomfortably like his old man.
Who the hell did he think he was? She wasn't just a CIA agent and an MiB agent and a news reporter, she was the heiress to an inconceivable amount of wealth. A princess in all but name, and what was he? The second son of five children who couldn't even afford to attend high school and could have very easily ended up selling drugs or other illegal contraband to make a living if he hadn't been picked up by the MiB first. He could reflect on the state of mind he'd been in at the time, and he knew he would have done it. He was desperate enough back then. Hidemi received genuine black opals and jadeite in her accessories gifts like they were no big deal, and he nearly fainted just looking at the price tag on those. Even Karasuma knew he wasn't good enough for her, not with his lack of wealth, education, and talent in any appreciable skill.
So yeah. A literal worm clinging to and by consequence sullying the pristine hem of her skirts. What right did he have to think he could marry her? Or have children with her? She could do much better than him. Easily.
"Vodka, what's wrong?" Vodka nearly jumped right out of his skin and whirled around in a panic to find Gin staring down at him with a slight crease to his brow.
"A-Aniki! When'd you get here? I didn't see you!" The crease on Gin's forehead deepened.
"I've been standing here for five minutes watching you and trying to figure out what's going on. You've been increasingly morose ever since we went out to eat the other night," Gin said, intentionally vague about the timing, but Vodka knew he was referring to the night Sherry was fully grown again.
"Did something happen between you and Kir after we parted ways at the restaurant?" Gin asked worried for his partner and honorary brother.
He had been having a pretty mixed morning already, had woken up to Shiho curled up against him after a night of long passionate love making. Had taken a bath with her to help with her soreness and then got to see her wearing nothing but his shirt as she cooked omelets and they had mentioned that they'd love to get married whenever she was finally old enough and things were solved. Then she had turned back into a kid after thirty minutes of agonizing pain and he had gotten a call from his sister about an alien running amok that needed to be captured which he and Shiho had to take care of before he dropped her back off at the professors.
Then when he came into the office proper he had heard from his sister that Vodka seemed to have something on his mind and was pacing around in his office. He immediately went to find his brother and find out what was wrong. Had something happened between him and Hidemi? It was the only thing he could think of for why he was acting this way.
"No nothing bad…I just…I learned something about her…learned that I was so far away from being worthy of her that it's ridiculous. If she wanted to, she could easily do much better than me. Find someone worthier of her." As soon as those words left Vodka's mouth Gin was texting his sister to grab Kir and send her to his office immediately. Nope. He wasn't letting his brothers low self-esteem ruin the good thing he had going with her.
"If I hear you say one bad thing about yourself I'm going to smack you." Gin warned his partner who shrunk in on himself a little bit.
"I don't know what you learned about her and I'm not going to pry but whatever it is it doesn't change how you feel about her does it?" Gin asked as he stared at Vodka who immediately shook his head in the negative.
"No! No not at all! I still love her more than anything in the universe. I just…I always knew I wasn't worthy of her, I'm nothing compared to her. Just some worm daring to latch onto her…but god now I know just how unworthy of her I am. How much I don't deserve her…She's a princess in everything but title Aniki. She's almost a literal princess." Vodka said with a small almost disbelieving laugh.
"She's almost a literal princess and I'm just…just some peasant compared to her. Some pawn-"
"If I hear you call yourself a pawn again or a peasant then I'm going to smack you and banish you to our couch for a month." Kir herself said entering the room and she didn't look happy with Vodka.
"Look at me love." Kir said her voice softer as she walked over to him and then gently placed her hands on his cheeks.
"I didn't tell you about that information to make you feel bad about yourself. You're right in that if it was revealed to the world about the truth then I could have almost literally my pick of men…but I don't want anyone else. I want you. I love you Koji, you are a big beautiful strong knight. You are no pawn." Kir said staring him in the eyes and then gently placing a kiss on his lips.
"You are a big strong loving knight and I love you. My grandfather tried to talk me out of dating you a year into our relationship, offered to reveal my existence to the world and let me pick anyone I want…I turned him down because I had fallen for you. I love you Koji and nothing will change that." Kir assured him and gave him another kiss on the lips.
"I love you too Hidemi." Vodka said softly and then there was a clearing of the throat from near the doorway. Vermouth and that person were standing at the door and Karasuma was glaring darkly at Vodka, again, and Vermouth just looked bemused.
"Vodka. I believe you need to try and get in touch with that programmer that was hired to work with us. Kir, my office now." Karasuma ordered the two who broke apart and Kir's eyebrow twitched as if she wanted to say something but for now she held her tongue. Vodka looked like he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar and stuttered over something for a moment before he quickly booked it.
"Sir I have a report on the person of interest you assigned to me." Gin said vaguely and making Karasuma look at him sharply. The only person of interest that he had been assigned that would require being vague about it was Shinichi Kudo. Spotting his agents phone in hand he had obviously gotten a text during the commotion and been waiting to tell Karasuma after everything settled a bit.
"He was shot? By who?" Karasuma asked surprised when he read the text that Sherry had sent Gin.
"Murderers who were in a cave. He and a few others were in the cave and came across the scene. He got the others out of the line of fire but ended up shot. He's getting medical attention now and thankfully there was a matching blood donor there to help out with the blood loss. I'll be kept up to date as things progress but that's all we know at the moment." Gin informed Karasuma who nodded once in understanding.
"Update me on anything new. Until then…either get Vodka some more backbone or go and talk to Curacao about an assignment. I have no illusions that you'll actually do your paperwork without Vodka around so at least try and be productive."
Kir couldn't resist snorting in amusement at that as she followed Karasuma out of Gin's office while Vermouth looked very amused and shot Gin a look as she left the office as well.
Kir was the only one who noticed the brief flicker of a scowl on Karasuma's face at the almost seductive look Vermouth had shot Gin.
It was so very wrong to think of her grandmother being attracted to someone just a year older than her.
