Men in Black and DC crossover

"Shinichi are you sure this is the right thing? Not telling her about this?" Dr. Agase was asking Shinichi that as they were on their way to the hospital to check on Ran and Jodie-sensei and Haibara.

"There's no way that Sherry is actually running and hiding from them all. She is probably on the badside of some aliens and someone in the MiB itself which would be why her sister was killed. If that was her sister I saw get shot at least. It might not have been but the way she acts about it and all…her sister is definitely dead." Shinichi said seriously as he wondered just what the truth of that matter really was. After all there was a chance that her sister hadn't been the person who he had found dying that day. He could think of a few ways for an alien to replicate a person so thoroughly and he doubted that the MiB killed one of their own without a very good reason.

Since it seems the same had happened to Pisco however…and what about that Tequila guy who had been killed by accident by a bomb? He knew it was likely an actual accident but had the MiB really not investigated outside of making sure it wasn't alien related or perhaps they suspected that Tequila was impersonated as well…he wasn't sure and he had no way of gathering that information right now. Had they all been impersonated or perhaps they were trying to break away from the MiB? He doubted that second one for sure but if three MiB agents were impersonated, two of them being codenamed operatives, then there was no telling what else was going on.

"But are you certain that not telling her about how you already know about the aliens and all is the best course of action?" Dr. Agase asked making Shinichi frown slightly as he was pulled out of his previous thoughts.

"No I'm not certain it is. If she does know that I know then she'd probably be a little more open about whatever information she's trying to hide from me. But if we do tell her then we risk her informing them since she's still one of them and has to and they'll either try to determine how I know and erase my memories, which is unlikely if they do a proper background check on me and kaa-san…or the ones that are after Sherry will add me to their list and make our current 'disguises' all but useless. Either way…while I'm not certain this is the best way it's better than the alternatives." Shinichi said and Agase hummed in agreement, his hands clenching on the steering wheel a bit as he thought of what some alien baddies might do if they found Shiho and Shinichi, especially when the two were in their younger bodies.

"What if they didn't shrink you just so you could protect her?" Agase asked making Shinichi blink a bit at that.

"What do you mean Doc?" Shinichi asked curious as to what he was thinking, after all he knew the MiB better than Shinichi did since the Doc was an actual alien that came here for 'retirement'.

"Well from what I know from my previous occupation…the Organization doesn't just have NOCs almost everywhere but they get NOCs from almost every organization in the world given their 'disguise' as a criminal empire that dominates the shadows. However…what happens when those NOCs find out that the Organization isn't really criminal? I doubt that all of them have their minds wiped, it would be noticed by their superiors immediately." Agase said and Shinichi hummed in thought at that.

"Mom has more experience with the American branch but…she said once that she had seen some officers from different areas get recruited. They had at least one person from a bunch of government branches from Army to Navy to Marines to regular police all taking the same test without really knowing what it was for. They recruited an already trained person instead of having to go through a lot of time and resources trying to take random people off of the street and train them." Shinichi said as he hummed to himself for a moment.

"MiBJ probably does something similar. The NOCs sent to infiltrate them are already trained agents. So if they pass some kind of test they're probably brought in on the truth and used to recruit more people from their government just in case it's needed for an invasion or something. The ones who fail probably have their minds wiped and are sent back to their government after their 'cover' is 'burned' and they have to fake their deaths." Shinichi said trying his best to think of what the NOCs could do and be used for after finding out the truth of the Organization.

"However…I'm not part of any government organization." Shinichi said pointing out the part of that which threw a bit of a wrench into the idea that was forming in his mind of why he might have been shrunk.

"No but you're a detective with pretty close attachments with the Police departments. You might have put away an alien criminal without realizing they were alien, or you probably did and still put them away because they deserved it. That or maybe they wanted to recruit you like a NOC for the Police departments but this thing with Ai-chan happened where she needed protection so they thought you might be the best bet." Agase said and he heard Shinichi hum slightly in thought and acceptance of that being possible.

"If it's because they want me to be their go between with the Police then they should have probably done a more thorough check on me and my family. Since we're already aware of aliens and all we already know of the MiB and they could have just asked me or told me that they needed to shrink me. That way we could have been more prepared and have a cover story in place for Conan's appearance and Shinichi's disappearance." Shinichi said wondering how the hell the MiBJ had missed the fact that his mom was half alien and Shinichi himself was one quarter alien on his maternal grandmothers side.

"True…" Agase sweatdropped a bit at hearing that, he thought the Organization would be a bit more meticulous than that.

Neither of them knew that Yukiko Kudo's file on her heritage was hidden from almost everyone by her mother and best friend and that Shinichi's by default had no traces of his alien heritage.

Vermouth made very sure that any tricks her 'Cool Guy' might have up his sleeve remained a secret so that he had some advantages against those that might target him.

Of course that also meant that no one at the MiBJ even knew he was aware of aliens and all.
