Men in Black and DC crossover

(A/N: I own nothing read last chapter and read Velgamidragon's We Are the Men in Black.)

Vermouth knew that there was something very strange going on and had been for a while now. Renya acted like he didn't even know about their daughter? Fine she didn't care if he did since he was such an ass about her being an alien shape shifter (honestly why else would she have not aged a day in the last fifty years? She had thought her husband smart enough to have figured that out on his own but apparently she gave him too much credit) but honestly talking about how she was the one who had abandoned and betrayed him and their son. God he was an ass…but that wasn't the end of it.

Then talks of other things had happened that had left her confused and in disbelief. Seriously she was no stranger to malicious gossip and rumors about her but things had gone to an entirely new level around eight years ago!

It had started with her being confused over small simple things at first involving young Gin.

Sure she had flirted with young Edward Kuroda, now Gin, of course (she flirted with almost everyone it was in part to tease Renya in the past but make him mad now and in part because of her natural flirty personality), but that was only to tease him and it had never gone farther than that. So why was she now hearing that she was sleeping around with a boy young enough to be her grandson?

He was barely a legal adult too, having only recently turned 20 with his sister and she almost never interacted with him without his sister around anyways! She had spent most of her free time either training young Emma or helping her daughter with her adorable little grandson and trying to eventually meet Yuusaku's father and younger sister. She had eventually decided it was just malicious gossip by those who thought she was a skank and slept around with everyone like a bimbo. Maybe they had even been started by Gin himself wanting to get in bed with her and being stupid in how he asked.

Not that she would have slept with him if he had asked her too anyways, he was young enough to be her grandson for heavens sake!

She had been completely blindsided nearly one year later when out of nowhere, the word in the Organization was that Gin had broken up with her and now he was low-key hostile and frosty towards her every time they interacted. He acted like he'd been genuinely hurt which gave her vivid flashbacks of Renya's reactions after he'd sent her away, threatened their daughter, and took her son away from her. The reminder infuriated her and it was particularly difficult on those days to keep her poker face in place.

So she had either tried to avoid dealing with Gin altogether or being only slightly flirty, toning it down as much as she could at least, around him. But then she had started noticing some other things, like how people would refer to things that they thought she had been there for but she knew she hadn't been. Such as when she had been off checking on her daughter and later heard that she had apparently had a shoot out with the FBI at the docks and had apparently gotten Calvados killed.

Or how apparently she hated young Sherry and wanted her dead for some reason when Vermouth had barely even interacted with the girl! She could barely recognize the girl who was only one year older than her beloved grandson, and honestly why would she want the girl dead? If she hadn't been trying to keep her daughter, son-in-law, and impending grandson far away from Renya then she would have probably taken the girl in and given her to Yukiko to raise as soon as she was orphaned! Not to mention the things that she had 'apparently' done in Japan even though she had been stationed in America at the time.

Seriously what the hell was going on? She was the best in the Organization at infiltration and disguises because of her shape shifting abilities and her years as an actress! The stealth and infiltration squad had tried to mimic her and go unnoticed while disguised as her for an entire day before and they had all failed!

Even Emma, her little protégé who was now on maternity leave (and honestly Vermouth was happy for the girl she knew how much the silver haired woman loved children), had tried her hand at it and had been busted within three hours by Rum and Renya. And honestly how did any of them think that they could have made it past Renya? No one knew of her marriage to him, even if they were now separated because of what he had done he had never come to her with divorce papers and honestly she had been too busy being a single mother to their daughter to think about it, so how could they have gotten past him especially if he brought up their son who she had still yet to find.

She wondered where her son was now, he'd be about fifty two now…She wondered what Renya had named him. Wondered if he kept that small tuft of black hair she had seen on his head when he was born, wondered who's eyes he had, her blue or Renya's brown. Wondered where he was now and what he did for a living. Surely he had married by now right? Did he have any kids? Did she have other grandchildren? Boys, girls, both?

She wished she knew but she wasn't going to give Renya that satisfaction. The satisfaction of asking about the son he had stolen from her and opening the door for him to ask about the daughter he denied as his.

Watching his reaction to their reporting of Kir having been stolen by the FBI during the mission after an accident, she wondered about the look on his face. Sure she knew Kir's history as well as anyone else who was MiB during the time. Her father killed and skinned, the alien who killed him wearing her fathers face and calling the young new CIA agent out to a warehouse and proceeding to mercilessly torture her for information that she never gave until she snapped and managed to get free, biting his wrist to the bone and then grabbing the gun and blowing the alien still wearing her fathers face head off.

She knew the girls history with being captured and knew that the girl was traumatized and probably had PTSD and survivors guilt over the whole thing, she wouldn't blame the girl at all and would in fact offer to be an ear for the girl or a shoulder to cry into if she needed it if she ever saw the girl when they weren't on an assignment, but Renya's reaction…

Vaguely in the back of her mind she wondered if this was how he would react if something had happened to their grandson if he even knew of their Shin-chan or cared about him.

The more bitter part of her wondered if Renya had replaced her in his bed with the young CIA agent even though it looked like Kir was dating Vodka. Wouldn't mean much to Renya. She had been dating James back before they had broken up on good terms and Renya had pursued her both while she was dating James and as soon as they broke up.

She wondered what was so important about Kir other than her being their CIA liaison and a 'legacy' since her dad was MiB too. Honestly didn't people know that it would take her being at least a third generation operative to be considered a legacy?

Vermouth doubted that whoever Kir's grandparents were, were MiB too or else she would have definitely known about it.

Now if only she could figure out why there were rumors and things going around about what she had said or done that she knew she never did.

If she didn't know better she'd swear there was someone impersonating her to throw the place into chaos. Well if there was then they were definitely succeeding…and Vermouth would definitely want to know how they had managed to get away with it.

Infiltration and impersonation were her field of expertise thank you very much!
