It was quiet in the old palace. Silently and carefully, Maria tiptoed down the halls, torch in hand, and headed to the study. No one really bothered with the room and kept it as it was.
Many rooms were like that. Mostly for historical purposes or something. She was still too young to understand completely.
Maria opened the study door and looked for anything out of the ordinary. That was hard to do as the room looked the same as it always had been and nothing had ever been changed. If it wasn't for the maids cleaning this place, it would've had a lot of dust collected.
"What did Olaf say?" She asked herself, recalling their last conversation.
"Magic concealed it." Maria searched the room or something that looked like what she was looking for or even a clue. Olaf had also said it was hidden in the desk. The young girl tiptoed to the large desk. She ran her hand across the table, the wood was smooth.
Ice?
She opened the drawers and rummaged through what was inside. Nothing. Under the desk. Nothing.
Maybe Olaf was just messing with her? Maria walked around over to the front of the desk and saw the design painted across the frame. Green streams swirled from both sides and stopped near the centre, where a blue flower rested. She traced her hand on the green line and then went to trace around the flower, but she immediately pulled her finger away.
It was cold. Like icy cold.
Wait a minute.
The blonde haired girl, examined the flower closely and she could see it was clearly ice. This was it. Maria looked closely and when she focused her vision she could see the key hidden inside the flower.
Now how was she suppose to get it out?
Anna flew to Arendelle as quickly as she could. They had all the answers. The sooner she'd figure out her centre, the sooner she could save Jack Frost...and the children. Not that they weren't important, but lately her number one priority had been Jack, plus not many kids were in much danger yet.
She finally arrived in Arendelle and headed straight for the old palace. To think this place had once been her home. All these years and the answers she was looking for had been right here. The thought of her being royalty once had never dawned on her and that for many years she had been locked away here.
Anna saw a light flashing about in one window and immediately she flew toward it. Inside, Anna caught sight of Maria as she was desperately tried to claw at something on the front of the table. The summer spirit tilted her head and watched curiously. What was she doing?
No matter how much she tried, the ice wouldn't even scratch. Her ancestor had some powerful magic. She was now shining her torch onto the spot. Maybe the heat from that would melt it. After a minute or two, her torch began flickering and soon died out. She couldn't run out of battery now. Numerously, Maria banged her torch against her hand, trying to kickstart it again.
"Come on. Come on. Come on... i'm going to tell grandmother elsa about this." She pleaded. She was too busy being occupied by her torch to even notice the room had suddenly gotten warmer as a certain summer spirit entered the room.
She was trying to melt something or heat something up. Anna had gathered. Who better to help than the spirit of summer herself?
She found that the window hadn't been lock. Odd. No matter, that wasn't important now. She walked over to where Maria was and saw the iced flower design. Elsa's doing. She began to wonder if Elsa knew she was still alive in a way. Anna placed her hand on the flower and immediately the ice began to melt away and ascended into small snowflakes in the air, disappearing into nothing. A hole in the shape of the flower now remained and Anna reached in and grabbed the key that once opened her room.
Maria watch in astonishment. The room became warmer and there was a faint glow forming the silhouette of a girl. Although blurred, the shape almost resembled the princess of light. It was almost too good to believe, but she couldn't deny what she was seeing and began to give in. She watched as the ice melted and became snow, disappearing like magic and then when she looked back down, a girl with red hair, with strands of gold, tied into two braids was staring at the key she had retrieved.
"You are real!" Maria squealed excitedly.
Anna quickly shot up and stared confused at the girl, grasping the key in her hand.
"W-wait what? C-can you see me?"
