On the other side of the school, Tenya Iida strolled down the hallways. It is important for me to have someone for the gala. He thought about how he saw Momo and Todoroki sauntered out of the dorms together earlier this afternoon. Yaoyorozu is out of the question now, so who?

A burning odor then filled his nostrils. Glancing up, smoke began to spill out of a door frame a few rooms down from him. The door exploded open as more smoke filled the hallway. Engine boosting, he called for anyone still in the room. He heard some coughs and ran in there. A few seconds later he pulled out a soot-covered Mei Hatsume, holding a fire extinguisher. Iida grabbed it from her and sprayed the smoke. As soon as it despitated, he checked on the girl sitting against the wall. "Are you alright?" Iida asked.

She peered up at him and then to the room. Hatsume jumped up and tried to run into the room, but Iida stopped her. "Let me go, my babies are in there!" Hatsume exclaimed.

"Are you crazy? You are lucky to be conscious right now!" She stopped struggling and bursted out into tears.

"I worked two months on that baby, and now she's gone. Gone!" Legs frozen, all Iida could do was pat her on the back.

"It will be alright. Think about it this way," he paused as she stared into his eyes. He studied her sonar-like pupils for a second before continuing, "you didn't suffocate. That means you can make more...babies."

Hatsume pushed him away from her. "You're right! Thanks…" she stared at him blankly.

He waved his arm up and down like he was conducting a chorus. "I'm Tenya Iida! We have met like five times now. You used me as a puppet in the Sports Festival last year."

"Oh yeah, well what's a hero doing so far back in the school on a Saturday?"

He bowed his head in shame. "I was trying to clear my head. You see, my class was invited to the Hero's Gala, and I still don't have anyone to go with," he admitted.

She raised her hand. "I volunteer as tribute."

Iida's head shot up so fast he might have strained his neck. "Huh?"

She placed her hands on her hips. "You need a date, and I could use more exposure for my babies. I see it as a win-win."

"I have to warn you, as Class Representative, I have to lead the first dance. Would you be comfortable with that?"

With a gleam in her eye, she grabbed his shoulders. "Even better! Then the heroes will definitely know my name."

He gently peeled her arms off of him. "Alright, I have two conditions. Remember my name and do not use me as a guinea pig to test out your machines during the gala."

She stuck her hand out, "Deal." He returned the gesture.

"They are having the dress fittings tomorrow if you are able to come to that." She nodded, and he gave her the details. Just like that, one class representative had a date.

Earlier...

Shoto Todoroki made his way to Momo's room wearing a light blue button down with a white undershirt and jeans. He knocked on the door at exactly noon, and she opened the door right away. Her hair was up in her signature ponytail, and she wore her lavender dress that had the ruffles on top and brown ankle boots. He noticed that she applied some brown eyeshadow and lip gloss. I look like a peasant compared to her. "You look nice," he said.

She grabbed a small white over-the-shoulder purse from the table next to her and replied, 'Thank you, Todoroki. You look pleasant as well." As they walked out of the dorm, Momo stared straight ahead to not make contact with her fellow students passing them. Todoroki noticed their double takes but decided to ignore them for Yaoyorozu's sake.

They walked in silence to the cafe. She didn't mind as she took the time to enjoy the warmth of the sun. She sighed. "Is there something wrong, Yaoyorozu?" Todoroki asked.

"Oh no, I was just thinking that it's nice to be able to enjoy the outdoors today." Smiling, she looked at the sky. "With the constant training and school work, we don't get to enjoy stuff like this anymore." He glanced at the light blue sky with sporadic white clouds.

"I guess I am not sure how to enjoy the little things. Even before UA, my days were filled with training and the like." Momo's eye widened and softened her brow. Noticing her concern, "It's alright, I get to enjoy my time now." He gave her a soft smile. Before they knew it, they arrived at a small ramen place called Flying Cranes.

He opened the door for her, and Momo gazed around the traditional Japanese cafe. The walls were beige with different pictures of lotus flowers. There was a large fountain in the middle of the restaurant where a couple kids were throwing coins in. She seemed to lighten up. "This place is so cute, Todoroki!" she exclaimed. They were seated by an older woman.

"Hello, I'm Hana. What can I get this fine couple today?" she asked. Momo was about to interject that they were not a couple, but Todoroki ordered green tea. Taken aback, she ordered the same. She glanced at the menu before closing it. "Do you know what you want, already? I know Mr. Todoroki's usual," Hana laughed.

"I'll take the Shoyu ramen with pork please," Momo said. The woman nodded and left to go to the kitchen.

"They have cold soba here?" Momo asked.

"The very best," Todoroki replied. Hana returned with their tea, and the students bowed their heads in respect. The green tea was hot and went down smoothly.

The creation hero smiled. "How have I never heard of this place?"

"It's rather new. I only discovered it about a month ago. You're the first person I have brought here from class."

A light pink blush crept on Momo's face, but she tried to hide it with her cup. "Thank you for letting me be the first one, Todoroki." He nodded as Hana brough their food. They said a quick thanks and began to eat. The broth had the right amount of salt, and slid down the throat easily. "This is the best food I have had since we moved into the dorms."

"I'm glad you like it." On the television near the sushi bar, a live fight was being shown happening downtown. Endeavor appeared on the screen scorching down the villain's car. Todoroki scowled and shoved a huge amount of soba in his mouth.

Momo furrowed her brows at his frustration. "Things are still difficult with your father, huh?"

"What makes you say that," he muttered. His eyes then widened while he held his hands out in front of him. "I'm sorry, Yaoyorozu, I didn't mean to sound harsh.""

"It's okay. I thought things were getting better between you two?"

"It's like he does some good things, but then he retracts into his old self. Then everything with my mother...it sucks." He took another bite of his food. "Enough about my family issues. What are your parents like?"

"Daddy travels across Japan all the time for work, so I don't get to see him much." She took a sip of her broth. "Mother on the other hand works for one of Best Jeanist's fashion companies. Her quirk is like mine, but she can only create silk from her wrists. She has actually helped make some of the dresses for the past Hero's Galas."

"Have you told her about your involvement with the gala?"

"Not yet. I've been waiting to get a date first, so she doesn't constantly ask me about that. Everyone is getting dates like that." She snapped her fingers. "Jirou told me that Kaminari asked her last night. This is all happening so fast. Then there's the whole first dance thing…" she trailed off.

The half-and-half hero stared at her for a moment while she ate slowly. His heart ached for the sad look in her eyes. He reached for her hand that wasn't occupied by chopsticks. She glanced up, surprised by his actions. Soft, her hand is so soft. Clearing his throat, he asked, "Yaoyorozu, would you allow me to escort you to the gala?"

She gasped, her jaw hanging slightly opened. "Really? Even with the first dance?"

Todoroki squeezed her hand. "Yes, even with the first dance." With tears in her eyes, she thanked him and accepted his offer.

Todoroki finally asked her! Yay! Both class representatives have dates for the first dance.

Now, Kirishima and Midoriya really have to get a move on. How do you think they'll ask Mina and Uraraka? Let me know your predictions!
