One hour later
Edward had left for Denali in a state of fury when he realized he had "lost everything" as he had put it . Bella never left my side after the party as I introduced her to Peter and 's sparkled with mischief as he spoke,
"I guess we need to bubble wrap the human with her being mated to the Major. By the way, Brother, its about time you pulled the stick out your ass and let your nuts drop back down to normal."
Charlotte's hand rose swiftly to smack Peter in the back of the head causing Bella to smirk and reply,
"Yeah well I'd tell you to go fuck yourself, but that would be cruel and unusual punishment."
Peter's eyes widened as his grin grew to an almost face splitting length before stepping forward to envelope her in a hug and whispered to her,
"I like you. You are perfect for my brother."
Releasing Bella, he stepped back for me to take her hand and lead her to the nearby couch. Esme was pacing as she tried to hide her true emotions behind a mask of worry before disappearing from everyone's sight. Rosalie's actions surprised Bella as she walked over, hugged her and declared "welcome to the family, my sister." Emmett already considered Bella family so he had little to say. Carlisle was full of curiosity as he bombarded us with questions.
"How did you know you two were mated?"" What was your first clue?"
Bella's happiness spiked as she sat up and replied confidently, "For me I knew in Phoenix."
My eyes widened slightly as I looked to her and urged her to explain more. Her smile was contagious to everyone around us as she looked to me
"The moment you told me in Phoenix that I was worth it I knew you were the one willing to protect me no matter what."
My hand slipped into hers and squeezed it gently, pushing as much love as i could to her as she continued.
"I did some research after overhearing Rosalie and Emmett speak of life mates. I spoke with Emmett privately and asked my own questions to find out what I wanted to know. I came to realize mates can not leave each other for long periods of time. I also know that Jasper is near my house a lot at night. I've seen him. I also learned that mates basically can' not deny the other what they desire. Edward wants me to remain human."
Before she could continue the words slipped from my lips with a deep growl from my chest, "like hell you will."
"See what i mean," she replied. "Jasper wants to turn me.
My eyes moved to scan the room as I was hit with a ton of deceit.
"I believe you are looking for this one, Major" Peter said as he shoved Alice to her knees in front of me.
My curiosity rising as Alice's fear doubled to almost the intensity of her deceit. The Major in full control as I spoke. "Speak woman"
"I'm not telling anything." she squeaked defiantly.
I jerked my head to Charlotte causing her to quickly remove a finger from one of Alice's hands.
"Now speak you pocket sized wanna be dress up doll." I demanded.
Alice whimpered at the loss of her finger as she cradled the hand to her chest," Fine. I knew we weren't mates, Jasper."
"Keep going, short stack. I know that you know more." Peter demanded as his eyes turned an obsidian equal to my own.
Alice's anger rose as she looked to me with pure hate in her eyes, " there was no way I was going to lose you to a human."
My laughter loud and hard as I leaned in towards her, " you never had me, Midget. I knew from the beginning you weren't my mate."
Her anger rising more as she snarled and rolled backwards to plant a sharp quick kick to Peter's abdomen before taking off out the door.
"God damn it." Char yelled as she took off after her.
The Major growled deep within, cursing himself for actually training Alice to defend herself. I took back over as he roared within."Call your mate and tell her to stand down, Captain. She wont catch her. I foolishly taught her to defend herself."
My brother nodded as he stepped outside to call his mate and have her return.
