RWBY: Chosen King and Queen
Okay before we get this story started I will like to tell you guys now that you will see multiple connections to Final Fantasy XV but mostly a project that was more known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII. And what I mean by that is some scenes will resemble it however there will be multiple deviations from that along with RWBY as well. I will not be using characters like Noctis and his gang because they will be different in how they think and their abilities with some similarities. Don't get me wrong I love Noctis; however he himself and his personality would not fit with the story and it's direction, which is why this isn't a crossover. Lastly the world of Remnants history will be changed slightly. I don't mean before Ozma and Salem but recent events like human faunus war or The Great War.
Now that we have that out of the way, now it is time for disclaimer.

Chapter 1: Destined Meeting of Two Lines
In the world of Remnant there were four kingdoms. Mantle which became the Atlas we know today, Vacuo, Mistral, and Vale however recently that has changed the emergence of another continent and kingdom. The Kingdom of Arlyn. The interesting thing was that it was a kingdom that was on Remnant and was kingdom before even the four kingdoms. This Kingdom was entirely neutral but didn't make an appearance to the world til The Great War.
It was a particular battle, The battle for Patch. A settlement that if Atlas and Mistral was able to get there hands on could've change the tide of the war to their favor; however in an attempt to stop the world's combat, the Kingdom of Arlyn made itself known to the world with its forces fighting against both and quelled the fighting but only partly as the Kingdom of Arlyn watched as the world continues this war. They continued this for years until a neighboring Kingdom from the continent, The Kingdom of Linux decided to make its presence known but unlike trying to stop them through disrupting the battles between the two countries, Linux sided with Atlas and Mistral. Fearing that the balance of both the war and the world would shift, Arlyn decided to officially join the side of Vale and Vacuo. This war would go on for 5 more years until the end to where both the King of Vale and Arlyn.
However the other Kingdoms of Remnant were very hesitant towards the new kingdoms, especially Atlas. Even after The Great War there was a great chance that there would be another Great War between the three kingdoms until the Kingdom of Arlyn released a statement from the King at the time which was they would not attack anyone unless the other Kingdoms attack first or are about to attack. The Kingdom of Linux has not said any statement; however it was implied the same for them. They stuck to their neutrality. However eventually Arlyn's kindness paid off as it received an alliance with not only Vale but Menagerie. Vale was more open minded than the other kingdoms and the friendship that both Kingdoms share is reflected in that. Not only that but Menagerie loves Arlyn because of the equality of both Faunus and Humanity. The people of Arlyn were very accepting and it stemmed from their king. A major amount of Faunus moved from all over just to be in Arlyn with the already existing Faunus living there.
The Kingdom of Arlyn was quick to adapt to the other kingdoms with Vale being its main companion and partner, whether they wanted a fresh start, humans, faunus , and other reasons.
But that is not all that happened to the world of Remnant as the Kingdom of Linux with its advanced technological advances shared with the world of Remnant. This gave the Kingdoms more trust to the Kingdom of Linux and even though they were in the same country the relation between Linux and Arlyn were strong as they had made sure, even through war time, that war would not grace their continent and its people.
After the war the king of Remnant proposed to abolish Monarchy to a system more akin to the people or a council, to which the rest of the world agreed to with the exceptions of Linux and Arlyn. Linux have instead decided to implement a hybrid of democracy and monarchy in the form of a king and a council on issues with the Kingdom.
With the Kingdom of Arlyn; however when the King proposed this to his kingdom the people thought against it as they believed in their king and the choices that they have made when regarding the safety of the Kingdom of Arlyn and its people.
However; recently a new king was chosen in Linux and with him the Kingdom of Linux has changed. The once open and honest country had become secretive and distant to the world especially the Kingdom of Arlyn.
Drayce, a young 7 year old boy who had white hair and black streaks, red eyes that were slitted, and was wearing a black sleeveless hoodie with the hoodie on and a white short sleeve shirt under and black cargo shorts. Drayce was walking around the streets of the capital, and was headed home after a day of school, but wanted to walk around for a while longer. So there he was walking in a garden as he inspected many of the flowers there. Roses, sunflowers, lilies, and daffodils. Drayce always admired flowers and the meaning of them and what they represented.
Drayce turned the corner of a wall of flowers and bumped into someone pulling them both to the ground. "Ow!" They both exclaimed, "Sorry."
Drayce shook his head getting rid of the pain and looked to see who he bumped into. He had bumped into a girl about his age who wore a red sleeveless hoodie with a white tee shirt under and a black skirt. Her noticeable features were her black and red hair and her silver eyes which he read were rare. Why they were rare, he did not know of.
Drayce then got up from the ground and held out a hand for the girl to take. "I'm Drayce. And sorry I wasn't looking where I was going."
She took his hand to stand up, "No, no I'm sorry. It's just this is my first time in the capital… actually Arlyn in general, so I was just mesmerized by how great it looks… My name is Ruby by the way."
Taking in that information, he deduced that she would be with her parents or a family member, "Oh so this is your first time being here. Well then who did you come with?"
"I came with my dad and uncle. My mom is back at home doing her work. Oh and my older sister was brought here too."
"Well then where are they?"
Ruby chuckled nervously, "Well you see, I sort of got separated from them and now, I am lost."
Drayce thought for a second, "Your uncle and father are Huntsmen correct?" Ruby nodded to this, "Well, then let's head to the king. There we can find a RoyalGlaive to help us find your family." Ruby agreed with this idea and gave him a thank you.
They had arrived at the palace where the Huntsmen known as Felix was situated at the time of the day. "Ah there you are Drayce and where have you been your father has been wondering where you were." Felix was a man with blonde hair and light blue eyes, and a formal attire that also could be used for combat.
"I decided to take a walk to a nearby garden when I bumped into her. She had gotten lost from her father and Uncle."
Felix pondered for a second, "Little girl by any chance is your Uncle a man called Qrow Branwen." Ruby hid a little behind Drayce and nodded, a little nervous around another adult without her family. "Well then that is a coincidence, as they are inside. Come on, I'll show you."
So they entered the palace and arrived at their destination, where not only was the king but also Ruby's family. Fenrir was a man with black hair and some grey hair because of his age. He had onyx eyes and was a black like combat suit that was made to look royalty like. "Ruby!" Ruby's family exclaimed as they ran to Ruby and Yang hugged her. "Oh my god I was so worried!" Yang said.
When Ruby got out, "I'm fine but I am sorry that I left you guys… But I made a new friend. His name is Drayce."
The room went silent until King Fenrir and Felix started laughing, while Qrow looked nervous along with Tai, and Yang looked at Drayce with confusion. Fenrir slowly stopped his laugh and addressed Drayce, "Go ahead and fully introduce yourself to your new friend Drayce.
Drayce nodded and turned to Ruby and Yang in a bow, "My apologies. My full name is Drayce Arlyn Regulus. I am the prince of the Kingdom of Arlyn, and son to King Fenrir, my father."
Ruby and Yang looked at him in shock, and Ruby became embarrassed and nervous and even blushed, "O-oh. I-I am sorry your highness! I didn't mean to bump into you. I am incredibly sor-" She was cut off as Drayce placed a hand on her head.
"Hey don't worry about it, besides just call me Drayce none of that your highness stuff."
Ruby smiled at him and he smiled back and looked at the other with red eyes meeting silver as they stared at each other. 'Hmm,' Fenrir thought. Qrow coughed in order to get their attention, Ruby blushed and Drayce just rubbed the back of his head smiling nervously.
After apologizing and the King telling them it was alright, Tai went to Ruby and took her hand leave however they were stopped by the king. "Hold on Tai," Taiyang stopped as Fenrir addressed Yang and Ruby, "Ruby, Yang, would you like to stay for awhile with Drayce, I think you all would get along great." Yang and Ruby both looked at each other in silent communication, and then nodded to the king, "Great Drayce if you would be so kind."
Drayce nodded and went to his room that he was staying in. He opened the door to his room which was a mixture of black, grey, and red. Not only that but there was a grey husky called Shade. Drayce now sat on his bed after he pet Shade with a sigh as he then took off his hood to reveal his white hair and laid on his bed with his feet dangling.
Drayce looked up at them from his bed and sat up cross legged, "What about you guys tell me about yourself," he said with a smile.
Ruby smiled and sat on his bed next to him and Yang did the same. As they talked, laughed, joked, and had fun with each other.
After the time for their stay was up, Ruby asked the King directly if she could come back the next day. Qrow and Taiyang were a little worried about the sudden request from Ruby and was ready for a decline; however, to their surprise the King welcomed her anytime she wanted to come, and at every chance she did. Yang would also accompany them and Drayce gave them the grand tour of the capital.
However the more they hung out, the more that everyone could see how close both Ruby and Drayce was becoming, with the exception of Ruby and Drayce themselves of course. Which only solidified King Fenrir's theory on not only the future of Arlyn but also the future of Remnant and more importantly his son.
Drayce even showed them some of his friends he goes to school with. Argus Aegeus was the brute, Rainier Cendrillion was the intellect, and Zyaire Azure the charismatic personality of the group and then there was Drayce the royal leader.
However now it was time for them to depart. "Well I guess we'll see you some other time," Qrow said as they got ready to get in the airship back to Vale. Ruby and Yang were sad that they had to leave their newly made friends, however Drayce thought of a way to still keep in touch even if they didn't have a scroll.
"Shade!" Drayce called out and in an instant Shade appeared, King Fenrir at first looked on in surprise, but then smiled and nodded to his son. Drayce nodded back as a thank you, "Ruby can you come here for a second." Ruby looked at Drayce and jogged to him until she was standing right in front of him. Drayce then used his semblance to grab a knife out of thin air and then slit his hand.
This shocked everyone but King Fenrir and Felix, "Drayce!" Ruby and Yang yelled, "Why would you-"
Drayce however, cut them off by holding up the hand which was healed by his aura yet the blood remained, as he waved away his weapon into nothingness. "Ruby can you please give me your hand?" Ruby hesitated but then looked into Drayce's eyes and saw assurance which led her to hold out her hand. Drayce gently grabbed her hand and kneeled, "Shade." Drayce watched as Shade walked over and sniffed their hands. And when Drayce released Shade went over to Ruby, as he nuzzled up to her. Ruby didn't understand why he was doing this but she pet Shade, "Take him with you."
"Wait why?"
Drayce scratched his head nervously as his aura healed his wound, "Well unlike most dogs Shade has a semblance as well he has the ability to teleport anyone he is bonded to and since he was already bonded to me as his so called master, I can extend the bond to whomever I choose using my semblance. So whenever you need to send a message just give it to Shade. He'll know what to do."
Ruby smiled at Drayce and suddenly hugged him to which he reciprocated.
9 Years Later
Fire was everywhere. Destruction no matter where you turned. Then a flash. And in front they appeared. Four heroes a Dragon, a Fox, a Phoenix, and a Griffon. Another flash appeared a man with white hair and a long spear that was gold and in the symbol of a sun. Another flash a boy resembling that of him with a chokuto in hand, as the weapons design was interesting. It was foreign yet familiar.
Black then enveloped his vision and again fire erupted however oddly enough he was looking at himself but he was… different somehow. His presence exuded power and control. His eyes a mixture of red and amber, glowing brightly in the dark. He smirked sadistically and snapped his fingers and darkness arose again. "That is one possibility."
"Drayce!" He woke to his name being called from the back of the car as he was being driven to his destination. Drayce wore a formal attire with a black jacket, shirt, slacks, and dress shoes. "We're here, your highness."
The car pulled up to a flight of stairs as we arrived in the courtyard. There was a roundabout before getting to the stairs and in the center was a fountain with a statue of an armed warrior standing tall with a sword in the ground. Wrapped around said warrior was a dragon as they stood together. The dragon was his family's crest, their symbol, their logo if you will. Behind it was a road leading up to the gates of the castle.
Drayce got out of the car and thanked the driver before going inside. He sighed, "Let's get this over with." He opened the doors and navigated up using an elevator to the third floor. After he walked out he continued walking straight down til he was met with two big black doors with golden dragon symbols on them. He opened them and I could see straight ahead a table with my father at the center. Every person around rose up to pay respect and then sat down immediately at my father's command. I took my seat next to my father.
"Now then let the reports begin."
For half of the issues I wasn't paying much attention. It was relatively small like usual; however my father always thought it was smart to always have me sit at these meetings. It was rather boring if I was honest but hey can't do anything about it now can I?
"Your highness, I am curious as to what we do with Linux. They have been rather secretive and our relationship with them is straining slightly."
Interested in this affair, I listen intently as my father begins, "In the light in recent years as the passing of the royal family of Linux, new leadership may be having a hard time or issues with running the Kingdom. All we can do is hope that they have everything under control; however, this is why I would like to formally announce that this year, the Kingdom of Arlyn will be hosting our first Vytal Festival.
There were gasps and many whispers throughout the room, 'Hmm the Vytal Festival will be coming here this year. If that is correct Ruby and Yang might be here. But still I feel as though we should be more careful with Linux.'
"Not only that," my father rose, "I will be sending my son Drayce Regulus to Beacon Academy this year."
'Wait what?'
"Your highness are you sure about this?"
"Do you feel like this is wise?"
My father raised his hand to silence everyone
"As you all may know, I myself went to Beacon Academy. There I learned lessons that I use to help govern this Kingdom not only that but I honed my skills there. I feel as though the same will be done to my son as well." My father looked at me, "Unless you refuse."
I looked at him to gauge him but there was a smirk on his face as if telling me that he knew I would take the offer, "There is no objection here."
"Excellent. I will also ask if Argus Aegeus, Zyaire Azure, and Rainier Cendrillion, glaives-in-training to accompany you as I feel as though they will also benefit from this, that is if they agree as I would assume that you would like them to go with you."
I nodded.
In the throne room
King Fenrir sat on the throne as he looked at his son, "So what do you think?"
"About Beacon or about Linux?"
"Beacon, you don't have to worry too much about Linux."
"Well I do understand the move to have me attend Beacon. Not only will it strengthen relations between both Vale and Arlyn, but it also lets me see the outside world. To see how the other Kingdoms do things; however if I am correct it was you who wanted me to be in those meetings that we have. Going to Beacon means that I won't be attending said meetings."
"Oh please, I will send you the specs of the meetings in a scroll, besides you never liked attending those in the first place." Drayce chuckled because of this, "I'm pretty sure that you would like to rather see Miss Rose anyway." Drayce did not confirm nor deny it, giving a light laughter to his son's quietness. "I suggest that you say your goodbyes and pack up you'll be leaving in two days."
Drayce nodded and left for the combat training facility.
At the training facility in an arena there was a man with black hair in the black and white glaive attire. He had a black shirt with a black coat that resembled that of a suit jacket, however was more flexible, being made for combat with white edges and white buttons with a gold symbol of a dragon. He also had black combat pants with a white streak going down the right leg with a gold streak in the middle of the white streak. Lastly he had a black slitted eyes and some patches of scales under his eyes which were amber. In his hand was a sort of broadsword.
He was up against one last digital enemy as he teleported behind and they gauged in combat as the bot was rather skilled; however after multiple successions of what seemed like teleportation from the man he struck multiple fatal points destroying it and ending the simulation.
As he composed himself there was a slow clap coming from the entrance. It was his good friend Drayce. "Ah, your highness to what do I owe this great pleasure."
"Quite it with the formalities Anguis, you know I hate them."
"Very well Drayce," Anguis said, as he fist bumped his friend, "What brings you here? I've heard from my commander that you will be off to beacon tomorrow."
"Yeah, so I thought I'd send you my regards."
"Well thanks for that, and don't worry about Arlyn, we'll hold down the fort."
Drayce smiled and nodded.
"You have been accepted to Beacon Drayce… thus the decreed hour has come… Set forth with my blessing, Prince Drayce," King Fenrir said.
Drayce who was in front of his father, now at the age of 16, with his friends/brothers Argus, Zyaire, and Rainier, "Thank you… Your Majesty."
Drayce now wore a white and black shirt, on top of that was a black button like jacket with the left sleeve being long and the right being short. He wore black combat pants with two belts in an X like formation on white, one black. Lastly he wore black boots with a red dragon like symbol on the side.
Argus was a tan skinned man with blond hair and green eyes, with his attire consisting of a white muscle shirt, red short sleeve long jacket, which matched his rough look. He also had a black scarf and scar on his cheek.
Rainier had red hair, with onyx eyes and wore a red buttoned shirt with a black dress jacket with red flame like design at the helm of the jacket, with black pants, black dress shoes and red and white fingerless gloves.
Lastly Zyaire had blue hair that slick back slightly and emerald green eyes. He wore a black shirt with the design of a blue river at the helm of it. A black short sleeve open button jacket and some black pants and lastly, he had black shoes with black fingerless gloves.
"Take your leave, and go in the grace of the gods."
"Right." Drayce then turned and walked past his friends, faster then Zyaire was ready for as he had to quickly maneuver out of the way. His friends also bowed their heads and left with him.
"Well princes will be princes," Zyaire said.
"So much for Royal Protocol," Rainier said.
"Not like you had to deliver a formal address," Argus said.
"Your highness!" A voice called and it was Felix with his father who was coming downstairs to approach them.
"What now?"
"I fear that I have left too much unsaid," Fenrir stopped Drayce from helping him as they are right in front of each other, "You place a great burden on those who would bear with you."
Drayce scoffed, "Your one to talk."
Fenrir looked to Drayce's companions, "I ask not that you guide my wayward son, merely that you remain at his side."
"Of course, your grace," Rainier said.
"We'll see the prince to Beacon if it's the last thing we see," Argus said.
"Right what he said," Zyaire agreed.
"Hate to break this up," Drayce started to defuse the conversation, "but Leo's got the ship in for us." Drayce now again turned to leave, "Eldrid, he's in your hands!"
"And another thing," Fenrir stopped Drayce another time, "Do mind your manners around your new teachers at Beacon. I've also heard that Ruby was able to get accepted two years ahead, so do mind your manners around the girl you're so fond of." It really wasn't a secret at least to everyone but the two but Drayce had begun to harbor feelings for the red headed reaper years ago and she vice versa. So when his father teased him about it, he really couldn't say it was a lie.
"Your majesty as well," Drayce replied as well, as he faked a bow, "Try mind yours around our esteemed guests that will be here for the Vytal festival."
"You have no cause for concern."
"Nor do you."
"Take heed. Once you set forth, you cannot turn back."
"You think I would?"
"I need only know that you are ready to leave home behind."
"I don't know about you, but I'm as ready as I'll ever be."
"Take care on the long flight, the Ragna will be transported as well." Fenrir started walking to his son, "Wherever you should go. The line of Regulus goes with you." He then put his hand on his son's shoulder, "Walk tall, my son."
As Drayce was about to enter, Shade appeared, "Shade."
Drayce started petting it as Rai said, "Bring us stuff. Atta' boy."
"That dog can really track a scent," Argus said.
"Certainly 'nose' how to find us," Rainier said.
"How do you always know, boy?" Zyaire asks.
Drayce ignores them, "Just a sec," he looks in it and sees it was from Ruby, 'I got accepted to Beacon early, I hope I get to see you sometime in the future.' Drayce then decided to write, 'Sooner than you may think.' Drayce closed the book and gave it back to Shade, petted him, and then sent him off on his way.
"I know you're not going to tell me."
"Then don't ask."
"What was that about?" Drayce only just sighed and walked into the ship.
Few days later
Ruby was near the air strip where they would get picked up to go to Beacon when she heard a bark, so she turned back to see Shade. Ruby looked around for her sister and when she saw the coast was clear she pet Shade and took the book out and saw the message Drayce wrote for her, she was pleasantly surprised by his message and wondered when. So that meant that she would get to see him soon if anything was told by what he said. Butterflies fluttered inside her as she was nervous about the outcome of their first meeting in four years. How would he react to her? Would they still have the same chemistry as before? Did he like someone else? Would he even recognize her? Would he- Ruby cut her thought off, 'Calm down Ruby, this is Drayce we're talking about you'll be fine.'
"Seems that you have a crisis about your feelings towards prince charming," Ruby jumped at the voice that whispered right in her ear. The one person she was trying to hide this from, her sister Yang Xiao Long. "So have you worked up the confidence to tell him your feelings yet."
Ruby blushed, "N-no, l-leave. I don't want dad finding out."
"Oh come on, I won't tell dad promise besides he won't be at Beacon with us,"
Ruby blushed and puffed her cheeks, but didn't reply back as she was close to Beacon now.
