Chapter 2: Reunion and Initiation

So interestingly enough I forgot to release chapters 2 and 3 so here they are along with todays chapter

"Well Drayce we finally made it," Zyaire said. "So what is the first thing we do."

Drayce was about to answer when Rainier cut him off, "First we must meet with Professor Ozpin, before anything else and let him know of our arrival. From what I know he should be in the auditorium."

Drayce was a little disappointed, as he wanted to find Ruby but I guess he was right. Sadly she had to wait, "Rainier is right. Let's head over there now," Drayce quickly started to walk to the auditorium. Argus looked to Rainier and Zyaire, as he and Zyaire smirked and Argus gave a small smile. 'Looks like Drayce is anxious; however, I'm glad that he knows what comes first,' Argus thought.

"Well at least we know he could keep it in his pants," Zyaire teased. This got a laugh out of Argus and a chuckle out of Rainier. Drayce just sighed as he expected to hear much more teasing from now on. 'Aw well, whatever.

And as they entered the auditorium, Ozpin had just ended his speech, some of the students looked to the newcomers and multiple whispers went off.

"It's almost like he wasn't there."

"I'm a natural blonde you know," Jaune said as he popped up behind Weiss. They all groaned but Ruby then heard many whispers.

They all honed into what was causing so much talk, "Isn't that…"

"No way he's here as well?"

"Why would the prince be here and are those his bodyguards."

As soon as Prince left the person's mouth, Ruby's eyes widened, 'Prince is only used for when people are talking about Arlyn and if that's the case.' We moved through the crowd and saw the commotion and Ruby couldn't believe it. "Isn't that the prince of Arlyn?" Weiss asked.

Yang nodded to her, "That's our good ole' friend Drayce. He was always one to make a big entrance," she said with a smirk.

Weiss looked at both Ruby and Yang in surprise, "You know the prince?!"

Yang nodded, "Yeah personally too, hell Ruby here likes him," Ruby however wasn't paying attention to either of them and was looking at Drayce and seeing how much he changed, and to her he was hot. The way his hair was, the outfit he wore went good with him and fit his style to the tee. He was also not too muscular but you could clearly see he had toned his physique. And his eyes were just as mesmerizing as she remembered them.

While he and his friends were walking down the makeshift aisle that the future students made, he felt a distinct set of eyes were on him. He looked to the right to have his eyes connect with a set of silver that belonged to the girl that he wanted to see so bad for 4 years. He saw that she was essentially studying how he looked and he interned and did the same. Her hair had grown since back then, her outfit complimented her, her red cape was something he thought made her cute. To him she was beautiful but had that cute factor to her.

He smiled at her and she did the same with a blush on her face. "Well, it looks like our prince found his lady," Zyaire teased.

Drayce blushed slightly before he whispered, "Shut up, Zyaire."

They walked to the podium, and professor Goodwitch addressed all of the students, "You are all dismissed." And with that the auditorium was cleared out with Ruby lingering but eventually gave into the order, "Well that was an entrance your highness."

"My apologies, it was never my intention to cause a scene."

Glynda only sighed and Ozpin stepped forward to greet them, "Hello, I am Professor Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon academy."

Aidan stepped forward to greet, "Pleasure to meet you I'm Rainier Cendrillion."

"Argus Aegeus."

"Zyaire Azure."

"And it is a pleasure to meet the next king and his next body guards," Ozpin said with a smile. "It is an honor to have you at my school; however I still will need you to take the initiation just like every aspiring student. I am the headmaster and I can't show favoritism now can I?"

Drayce nodded, "Understood but to be honest I was hoping that you would say that, as I was going to ask you if we could take the initiation anyway. I don't want any special treatment just because I am here. I am a student here to learn just as everyone else."

"Wonderful. Now sadly there are more things that I will need from you, your highness."

Drayce folded his arms in a curious manner, "Like what?"

Ozpin waved him off, "Nothing too serious, just minor formalities: However I would need another one of you to come as well. Another formality as I can't have the prince come with me unless one of his guards is there with him."

Drayce sighed as he guessed that he wouldn't be able to see Ruby tonight, "Alright, Argus if you could come that would be great." Argus nodded back as they left with Ozpin, and Glynda showed Zyaire and Rainier to the auditorium where the others will be sleeping.

In the Auditorium

Ruby was pacing back and forth from her resting spot. She couldn't contain her excitement and nervousness of talking to Drayce again. "Yo sis calm down why don't you," Yang said, "It looks like your about to combust."

Ruby followed her sister's suggestion and laid down on her makeshift bed, "Your right, your right. I need to calm down." Ruby then started to write things in her mini book.

"Besides it's like a big slumber party!"

"Bet dad wouldn't appreciate all the boys though."

"I know I do," Yang purred and looked at all the guys with shirts off flexing until she saw Jaune in a onesie. "Eh," turning back to her little sister she asks, "So what'cha got there?"

"I'm writing back to my friends at Signal, I promised to tell them all about here."

"Awww," and for Yang's response she got a pillow to the face.

"Shut up, unlike you I didn't get to take my friends with me to Beacon. It sucks not knowing anybody else here,"

"Cheer up, you have friends all around you. You just haven't met them yet. Like for example you have Jaune. See plus one friend, that's a 100% increase."

"Pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend, back to zero."

"There's no such thing as negative friends, you just made one friend and one enemy. Besides what about your boyfriend and his group?" Yang smirked.

Ruby blushed, "He's not my boyfriend." Ruby sighed and looked over to a lamp to find the girl that helped out with the Weiss situation.

"Do you know her?"

"Not really, she was there when I exploded then she just sort of left."

Yang then got up and grabbed Ruby's arm, "then I believe you two need to be reacquainted," she said and dragged Ruby to Blake. "Hellooooo~" she sang and when she arrived at her destination she let go of Ruby's arm. "I believe you two know each other."

The girl with the black bow looked up to see the girl she saw before and a taller blond girl in front of her, "Aren't you the girl that exploded."

Ruby chuckled nervously, "Yeah… Well I'm Ruby but you could just call me crater-... actually you could just call me Ruby."

"Right."

"So what's your name?" Yang asked

"Blake."

"Well I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister."

Silence

"I like your bow," …. "It goes great with your… pajamas."

"Right."

"Nice night isn't it?"

"Yes it is. Almost as nice as the book," silence, "Which I will continue to read," more silence, "as soon as you leave."

Yang then turned to Ruby, "Yeah this girl is a lost cause."

Ruby joined the conversation, "What's it about?"

"What?" Blake said, confused.

"Your book,does it have a name?"

Surprised by the sudden question she composed herself to answer. "Well i-it's about a man with two souls each fighting for control of his body."

"I like books, Yang used to read every night before bed, stories of heroes and monsters. They're one of the reasons why I want to be a huntress."

"Hoping you live happily ever after?"

"Well I'm hoping we all will. As a girl I want to be just as those heroes in the books. Someone who fought for what was right and protected people who couldn't protect themselves."

That's pretty ambitious for a child."

"Well that's why we're here. To make it better."

"Aww," Yang said as she bear hugged Ruby who fought to get out

Just then Weiss came in after Ruby and Yang wrestled, "Hey can't you quiet down some of us are trying to sleep."

Just then Ruby and Yang made eye contact with Weiss and vice versa. "Oh no not you again!" Both Weiss and Yang yelled.

And at that time the doors to the auditorium opened, to show Zyaire and Rainier. Ruby instantly called them over, "Zyaire! Rainier!"

They both walked over to the group, "It is good to see you again Ms. Rose," Rainier said politely.

"Oh Rainier don't be so uptight relax a little why don't ya," Zyaire commented.

Ruby then noticed two people missing, "Wait where's Drayce, and Argus?"

"Sadly the prince had to stay longer as he had to take care of some business, you probably won't see him until tomorrow." Ruby looked sad at that answer and Zyaire tried to help her out, "however he did say hi and is very anxious to see you again." This lifted Ruby's spirit slightly as she gave a small smile and nod.

"Okay stop," Weiss commanded, "How in the world of Remnant do you know the prince of Arlyn."

Rainier stepped in to answer the question of the heiress, "Ms. Rose and Prince Regulus have been childhood friends since Ruby was seven and Drayce was eight, and I must say they are quite smitten with each other."

Ruby blushed at that comment, "Rainier!"

Zyaire chuckled at her embarrassment, "Anyway we should get some shut eye, we have a big day tomorrow. Besides Ruby can't look her best for her prince if she doesn't get her beauty sleep." Again Ruby blushed harder; however instead of saying anything she stomped off to bed getting a laugh from Zyaire and Yang while a chuckle from Rainier and Blake.

The next morning

On the cliff

Drayce and his friends were at the cliff early with Ozpin and Glynda waiting for the rest of the students, "So, Prince Drayce, are you ready for the initiation."

"As ready as we'll ever be."

"Besides," Argus said, "I wouldn't worry about your highness. He's not a prince that is all talk and no action."

"I see," Ozpin looked up to see the other students coming, "Looks like the others will be here in a moment."

Drayce looked back looking for someone specifically to which Glynda caught, "Your highness," Glynda addresses, "Please refrain from being distracted. You have a big test ahead of you."

Drayce sighed, "Understood," he said in a disappointed tone.

Suddenly they all heard footsteps and saw their fellow classmates, and as if it was destined, Ruby was the last to arrive and for a moment their eyes met. That was until Ozpin interrupted, "For years you have trained to become warriors," Ozpin started with a coffee mug in hand, "and today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

"Now I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates… today." Glynda clarified. Ruby heard what they said but didn't care as much as she originally would, not only that but she distracted herself with sneaking a couple glances at Drayce as many other students did as they pieced together that the Prince would be attending their school.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired up with someone whom you can work well with." Ozpin said, "That being said the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

Ruby did a sort of whiplash as she looked to Ozpin, "What?!" This got a chuckle from Drayce and his friends.

"See I told you." Nora said to Ren.

"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Don't hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die." Ozpin pauses for a second before continuing, "Now then you will be monitored and graded for the remainder of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene." Ozpin looked at Glynda for a second, "You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will guard that item as well as your standing and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" Ozpin finished.

"Yeah uh sir?" Jaune askes.

"Great, take your positions," Ozpin said, completely ignoring Juane.

And with that they were sent off with Jaune last and screaming his head off. Drayce decided to keep it simple with his landing strategy and just use his semblance.

His semblance was the ability to call forth a multitude of weapons from his sort of pocket dimension, and pull them to his side. The max he could call out was five at a time. Not only that but he can reverse the pull, and have himself to be pulled to the weapon.

However in order to use this semblance, he has to have a weapon that has at least a small amount of his aura thus making his ability in theory simple but much more complicated than most due to his special condition.

Drayce used his aura to expand his view and quickly found Rai with his weapon out on standby as he warped by him, "Isn't this kind of cheating?" Zyaire asked.

Drayce just shrugged, "He never said I couldn't," Zyaire gave it some thought and nodded, "Let's get the others and head to the tower." Zyaire agreed and put his hand on Drayce's shoulder and Drayce used his semblance to pull him to Argus.

"Isn't this considered cheating?" He asked.

"That's what I said," Rai responded.

Drayce just rolled his eyes, grabbed his two friends, and teleported to Rainier. Rainer was leaning against a tree with his spear in the ground as Drayce and the others appeared, "Great now we can move on."

Drayce looked at Rainier, "Aren't you going to say that you considered this cheating?"

"Of course not, it's just mere preparation. Besides we work better with each other since we all know our strengths and weaknesses. So it was only logical to stay with each other."

Drayce smiled, "I'm glad someone sees it my way." Drayce turned to the direction of the forest temple, "Alright let's get a move on."

"...Now we can die together," Yang said as everyone but the prince and his was as they stared down a Deathstalker.

"Not if I have anything to say about it," Ruby then charged it.

"Ruby!" Yang shouted.

Ruby ran to it, scythe in hand was about to strike it when it was going to smack her back. Seeing this Ruby maneuvered slightly to dodge it, and slashed against its face, only for it to cause no damage to its skin, not noticing a pincer it knocked her back.

"Fine. Totally fine." Ruby tried to reassure, as she shot multiple rounds at the Deathstalker only for it to not have effect. 'It's exterior is too hard to pierce with a blade or rounds,' Ruby decided to make a retreat, as Yang also rushed to help her sister; however they didn't suspect the Nevermore above them as it flapped its wings causing sharp feathers to stop Yang at her tracks and catch Ruby's cape making her stuck.

"Ruby get out of there!"

"I'm trying!"

Weiss seeing no other option rushed in ready to freeze the stinger coming for her partner; however a sword came flying in front of Ruby. The sword was beautifully crafted, it was a double bladed sword with the blade being black as night and had red stripes going across the blade in rows. The guard was gold in color and on the right side bends downward to become parallel with the grip. On the left side of it were two wings that went up to a quarter of the blade and in the center of the hilt was a red orb that connected both the left side and the right. The grip was black with red diamond shaped squares going down the middle.

And in an instant Drayce appeared and blocked the stinger with his signature weapon, Dragon's Heir. It's name was carefully picked by Drayce as he was his father's son, something he took pride in, and the fact that his father called him 'his dragon', thus the name Dragon's Heir was born.

Drayce then shifted his footing and deflected the stinger into the ground, as Weiss appeared and used her weapon to freeze the tail in place. Drayce then turned and threw his sword next to Yang, grabbed Weiss before she could complain and touched Ruby's head and teleported to his weapon and ultimately to safety.

"Whew that was close," Drayce said and then turned to Ruby, "And you young lady, what did you think you were doing charging head first into a Deathstalker like that."

"But-"

"No buts, that was reckless, you have teammates and partners that are here to help you. None of us will fault you for asking for it and who knows maybe you'll change some people's mind about you," he said while motioning to Weiss who only gave a slight nod. Ruby nodded and was embarrassed that she was messed up badly and in front of her childhood friend: However this was immediately stopped when she felt Drayce hugging her tightly, "I'm so happy to see you," Drayce whispered.

Ruby was stiff for a second until she hugged back as well, "I missed you too."

"Ehm." The sound of someone clearing their throat was Rainier getting everyone's attention, "Well then now that, that is taking care of I suggest that we be on our way. That ice isn't going to hold it forever. I suggest we take our objectives and leave to the hill."

"Run and live. That's an idea I can get behind," Juane said.

With that Ruby, Jaune, and Drayce picked their pieces and they all ran. As they arrived in the clearing Drayce forced his team to lay back, "Hey Drayce, why are we not helping?" Rai asked.

"It was a request from old man Oz," Argus answered, "He asked us if the others were to face grimm, to let them handle it. He wants to see what they are made of as a team. Besides we can't just take their shine by killing both Grimm now could we. That wouldn't seem fair." Zyaire and Rainier nodded as they watched and they were thoroughly impressed by what they were seeing.

Alas the battles came to a close with Nora slamming down the Deathstalker into the bottom of the pit which mind you was a long fall and Ruby beheading the Nevermore.

However they weren't out of the woods yet as roar came from the sky. It was a Manticore, "What? Why is a Manticore here in this region?" Weiss said.

"And one that is so big," Blake added.

Ruby grabbed a clip from behind and loaded it into Crescent Rose. She was going to launch herself at it until, "Hold on," Argus said, as he took out his weapon out of thin air. It was a huge katana, and some wondered how he was able to carry it with one hand, "we'll handle this one."

"Wait shouldn't we handle it, I mean what about the prince, should he really-" Weiss stated but was cut off and what cut her off was laughter by both Zyaire and Argus.

"What kind of prince do you think his highness is?" Zyaire asked, "Don't underestimate him, he is by far the strongest one here including you."'

Weiss was appalled at the implication but stayed silent to watch if what he said was true, "Enough talk," Drayce responded, "Let's get this over with."

He said as he took out his go to weapon Dragon's Heir. Zyaire, being next to him pulled out twin pistols that had the ability to switch from regular pistols to hand cannons and finally a shotgun if you put them together. Zyaire was the gunslinger of the group and his twin desert eagles were proof of that as he was possibly one of the best shots in the Kingdom of Arlyn.

Finally brushing his hair back, Rainier, took out his twin daggers which each had compartments in them to add dust; however, he could connect them then extend the handle to its full length turning it into a double ended spear. Rainier connects his weapons and now holds his spear behind his back and a hand in front of his body.

The manticore, tired of waiting, flew through the air towards them. He was going for Drayce who just stood there, with the beast about to strike. Seconds before the Manticore could it was knocked away by a large katana from Argus. While it was down Zyaire saw his chance and used his semblance as multiple afterimages appeared as he was now underneath the downed beast. He aimed his now hand cannons underneath the Manticore and fired, which resulted in an explosion sending the beast into the air.

Rainier who got a lift from Argus was launched into the air and above the grimm and Rainier, with incredible speed popped a wind dust crystal in one of his spear's two compartments and closed it. He came down on the grimm and activated the dust sending a gust of wind to it with it heading for Drayce.

Drayce pressed on the curved guard making his sword ignite and the orb in the circle glow, "Get grounded!" Drayce then cut one of its wings off. Losing one of its wings and the ability to fly hindered the grimm greatly; however, it recovers quickly and lunges at Drayce with a swipe of its claw. Drayce guards with his sword which was not lit with flames to block the attack; however he did not account for its strength and he was pushed back.

Drayce quickly right himself and landed on the ground. "Argus the tail!"

Argus nodded and rushed the grimm and seeing Argus charging at it, the grimm swiped at him with its claws. Argus rolled underneath it while slightly cutting it's paws. Argus now was going to strike the grimm's tail but said tail struck at him to skewer him. Argus made a quick adjust and grabbed the tail holding it in place with his great strength, before cutting it off.

Drayce, with the beast roaring in pain, appeared above the beast with a wind crystal orb in the place of the red, which instead of blasting wind, concentrated the wind to the blade making it even sharper. He struck the grimm's mask by stabbing it, while wiggling it around to create an opening to the skull. "Zyaire! The skull!"

Drayce warped out of the area, for Rainier and Zyaire to finish it off. Rainier took apart his daggers and quickly inserted ice crystals in both and ran to the grimm, which saw him coming and was going to dodge until Rainier used his semblance, Eye of the Mind. To slow down time for a couple of seconds to think of strategies. With that time he was able to dodge a predicted strike from the grimm's tail and attacked his front and back legs, freezing them in place. Zyaire sped with his semblance and fit the barrel of one of his hand cannons in the hole Drayce made, with Drayce's there his hand on his shoulder with what it seemed like their auras being linked "Jackpot." Zyaire fired a blast filled with his aura and killed the grim with a bang. Zyaire turned to Drayce, "Thanks for the added boost that was needed," Drayce nodded and smiled, "Now go say hello to you lovely lady," Drayce rolled his eyes at him and made his way back to the cliff.

When he got up there he saw Ruby standing and waiting for him, "Hey," she said with a smile on her face.

"Hey," he replied back.

"Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. The four have obtained the queen pieces and you will now be known as team RWBY with your leader… Ruby Rose." Ruby was shocked to be named leader with Blake having no problem with it and Yang being very happy and proud of her sister. Weiss was a different story as she was upset with the choice that Professor Ozpin had made.

"And Lastly, Drayce Arlyn Regulus, Argus Aegeus, Zyaire Azure, and Rainier Cendrillion. You have obtained the king pieces. You will now be known as Team RRZA (Rose), with your leader, Drayce Arlyn Regulus."
