RWBY: Chosen King and Queen

Chapter 4: Jaundice

Fire and Blood. Everywhere. Beacon ablaze. No matter where I look it would be everywhere. I could see them. Team RWBY as they run into the crowd each of them fighting creatures of Grimm. I reached out my hand only to find out it had scales. It was red and blue and had claws. It looked akin to a dragon; however still human as blue pulsated through it as the light shined. I shook my head and unsheathe my weapon… It was a katana with an interesting type of mechanic. As I continue to fight for the survival of not only me but the people I care about, I see a child next to me with a weapon fighting against the people of grimm.

I looked forward to seeing Yang's arm get cut in half as she became unconscious then a flash of silver light as images and memories of someone. Memories that aren't mine. People that I don't know. Then I said in a voice that wasn't mine, "One possibility."

It's been weeks since the fight between Drayce and the two members of team RWBY. Due to the fight, the morale of Team RWBY has grown exponentially. But the most change was seen in Ruby. She was now living up to her reputation of a prodigy. While she would still be her cheery self, she started soaking up information at a much rapid rate, something that Weiss was happy about on the inside. Due to her example the rest of her team followed as they equally improved both in knowledge and in combat.

Even though they were doing so well it would sometimes be overlooked by the prince Drayce. Something unbeknownst to a lot of people, Drayce loves to spar and makes sure he does so every chance he gets in order for improvement. He still to this day is on par with Pyrrha in not ever losing a match; however he's had much more matches than Pyrrha as every combat class he sparred with someone. It's even got to the point where it was an event to the class.

But that's enough about the weeks going by now we find our group of ragtag heroes sitting in the cafeteria after combat class. "Draaaayce! You still haven't shown me Solar and Lunar Eclipse! I want to see them please," Ruby whined and begged to her best friend.

"No Ruby, not until I've used the other weapons in action, because knowing how you are, you would want to see all of them."

"But how do I wait when you only use Dragon's Heir."

"Patience my little red rose. Patience."

Ruby pouted, and looked away. She then looked to Jaune and saw that something was bothering him, "Jaune are you okay?"

Jaune perked up, "What me? Of course I'm totally fine," he said however with not as much conviction.

"You don't sound like it, my guy," Zyaire said.

"Trust me guys I'm fine," he said, however he looked to the direction of Cardin and his gang.

"Is it Cardin?" Yang asked.

Jaune instantly tried to disprove this notion, "Cardin? Nah of course not why would you say that?"

"Cardin has been bullying you since the start of this year," Pyrrha said.

"Psh oh come on, name one time he's bullied me."

"Well there is the time he knocked your books out of your hands," said Yang.

"Practical joke," Jaune dismisses.

"The time he got you shield stuck in the door frame," Ren also commented.

"It was horseplay."

"And let's not forget him stuffing you in a locker and launching you out of Beacon," Rainier said.

"Well to be fair, I didn't go far from the school."

"Jaune, he's a bully," Pyrrha probed.

"Ooh, we'll break his legs!" Nora exclaimed fully committed to the idea.

"Nah guys he's fine, besides he's not just a jerk to me, he's a jerk to everyone," Jaune pointed out as they saw Cardin and his gang harassing Velvet, a second and one year their senior. Velvet had long brown hair and eyes along with long brown rabbit ears on the top of her head, identifying that she was a faunus.

Argus gritted his teeth together, "That doesn't make it right." Argus began to get up making his intentions clearly known to everyone. However before he could take a step towards them, Drayce held his arm, "Are you going to stop me, your highness?" He said a little upset that his friend would stop him.

Drayce hadn't turned from Cardin, "Of course not. Just give him one for me okay."

Argus smirked slightly, "Got it." With that Drayce let him go and the rest watched as a show was about to unfold.

Meanwhile with Cardin, he was pulling on Velvet Scarlatina faunus bunny ears, "Heh I told you they were real," Cardin said to his 'buddies'.

"Please stop," Velvet tried to ask only to receive a laugh from them.

Thankfully for Velvet, another arm reached out and grabbed Cardin's wrist. They both looked to see Argus, "I believe the young lady said to stop. So I suggest that you let go."

Cardin smirked, "I don't see a lady but an animal. What if I don't want to let go?"

Argus smirked equally, "Then let me rephrase it for you," Argus began tightening his grip making Cardin wince at how strong his grip was, "If you don't let go of her, I can't promise that you and your friends will make it out of here, intact."

Cardin scowled as a stare down insured, but rather quickly Cardin relented, "Whatever, I was getting bored anyway." With that Cardin and his team left, leaving Argus and Velvet.

"Are you okay?" Argus asked.

"Y-yeah, I-I'm fine, thank you so much."

"No problem, I'm Argus Aegeus, do you mind if I ask you your name?"

"Velvet Scarlatina."

"Alright, just know if any of those guys come bothering you again just come find me okay."

Velvet nodded, "Thank you," she said with a smile and ran off.

Argus made his way back to the table to find Drayce slumped in his seat, "What's wrong with him?"

"He's upset there was no fight," Ruby explained.

Drayce groaned only for a chuckle to come from Argus, "Why did you help her? They all turned to Blake, "Most people would look the other way so why would you help them."

"Do I need a reason to help out another person? Faunus are people too just like us. Just because they have extra appendages doesn't mean there still any less of a person," Argus said.

"Argus is right," Drayce joined, "This is how all of the people in Arlyn think as much as I know. We personally praise the faunus, especially those who are in the RoyalGlaive, because of some of their superior senses to us humans."

Blake was very shocked and surprised at the amount of respect the faunus got in Arlyn. She has heard many times that the kingdoms treated her kind with the utmost respect but she never has been there to judge accordingly if this was true or not, but she was glad for this.

Before teams RWBY, JNPR, and RRZA were in doctor Oobleck's class they were stopped by another classmate that wore shades and had dark brown hair and fair skin. With her was a dark skinned male with dark red hair along with eyes that seemed as though he was blind. The third unknown member was a tall guy with tan skin and shaved hair and with him was the faunus girl that Argus helped.

"Hey you guys," the one with shades said. Everyone looked at them, "I heard from Velvet that you saved her from some bullies while we were away, and as leader of team CFVY, i would like to say thank you."

"It wasn't a problem," Drayce said, and then he put a hand on Argus shoulder, "This big guy couldn't just do nothing."

"Still thank you and allow me to introduce ourselves. I'm Coco Adel and these are my teammates Fox Alistair," she pointed at the dark skinned redhead, "Yatsuhashi Daichi," she then pointed at the big guy. "And finally Velvet Scarlatina," to which the faunus waved. Teams RRZA, JNPR, and RWBY introduced themselves back, "Well we sadly don't have this class with Velvet so we have to get moving." They nodded and bid the rest of team CFVY farewell.

"Now, I know that this seems like a distant memory, but I assure you that it is imperative as these are relative events that have weight even in this generation," Profess- erm, Doctor Oobleck said. "Now then who can tell me the turning point in the human-faunus war."

Weiss raised her hand to answer, "The Battle of Fort Castle."

"Excellent now can someone tell me what was the biggest mistake that happened in that battle?" Cardin flicked a piece of paper at a sleeping Jaune waking him up with a jolt, "Finally contributing to class, Mr. Arc, excellent, excellent. What is the answer?"

Jaune looked as though he was a deer in headlights as he looked for help from his friends, "The answer… the advantage… that the faunus had… over the guys stuff…" Pyrrha had motioned to her eyes and was cupping them in a circle, "Uh b-binoculars!" Jaune said confidently; however everyone laughed at his answer with his friends face palming.

Oobleck did not seem amused from this answer, "Very funny Mr. Arc. Cardin would you like to share your thoughts on the matter?"

"Well, I know it's much easier to train an animal than a soldier," he said.

"You're not the most uplifting of individuals are you Cardin?" Pyrrha said.

"You have a problem with me?" Cardin asked, taking his foot off the desk.

"No, I have the answer. Almost all faunus are known to have nearly perfect sight in the dark more specifically those who have aura," Pyrrha said.

"General Lagoon made the mistake of trying to ambush the faunus while they were sleeping resulting in his defeat," Blake said, "If he had paid attention in class he wouldn't be reminded of such a failure."

Cardin took offense to this and stood up angry, "Sit down Cardin," Drayce said which was surprising since he's been kind of absent for the majority of the class.

"Oh yeah or what, I'm sure that I could take you on no problem. You don't look so tough," Cardin said.

Drayce sighed, while Rainier decided to cut in, "This is why you wouldn't even make it past initiation in Arlyn."

"What are you saying?" Cardin asked with aggression in his voice.

Rainier looked to Oobleck, " If you would allow me, I would like to tell you about Arlyn's Royalglaives."

"Hmm this will be an interesting topic, not only that it will give insight to Arlyn culture. Very well continue."

Rainier looked at Drayce, "May I?"

"Sure go ahead."

"Thank you." He cleared his throat and continued, "In Arlyn, the way we decide who becomes a RoyalGlaive and train to become is through not only a test of skills but knowledge. We check the state of your mindset. If you would hinder your fellow comrades no matter who, whether human, faunus, or what we call hybrids."

"Hybrids?" Oobleck asked?

"Yes. It is a combined culmination of both human and faunus genes; however unlike usual in relationships like these where the child would come out faunus. Hybrids will not show any traits at all; however they will still receive all of the benefits from their fauni attributes. A fellow hybrid is in this room."

Zyaire stood up, "Heh guess the secret is out," he said with his tongue slightly out in a sheep expression, " I am a hybrid. My mother is a wolf faunus." There was shock spread throughout the class especially for Blake, "Sorry I didn't say anything about it, honestly it just slipped my mind."

"In Arlyn we value what you as an individual bring to the table, so to speak. We care that you can cooperate together and thus through teamwork improve our individual skills. As for our weaponry we all choose a weapon and go by a philosophical way of picking the weapon. We believe that we don't choose the weapon but the weapon chooses us. First we train with the basics of the weapon and then create our own. However that is not all. We have the additional help from the king and his line."

"What do you mean by this?" Oobleck asked with interest.

"Those who pledge to a king and or his line will receive a blessing from them," Rainier said and stopped as he saw Drayce was going to cut in.

"It's a hereditary semblance. We all have the ability to store our weapon in our personal space and call upon them whenever we are in need of it. We also have the ability to essentially connect people to our semblance, giving them a perk if you would, allowing them to summon them." Ruby had stars in her eyes at the idea of summoning her Crescent Rose at will, "Most of the RoyalGlaives have the perk through my father, while Zyaire, Argus, and Rainier have it through me."

"Fascinating, very fascinating indeed. Thank you for sharing that bit of information with us. Now you are all dismissed except Mr. Arc and Winchester. I need to talk to you both after class."

Argus decided to get a late night drink from the cafeteria and he walked past an open door, leading to the roof, and curiosity got the better of him so he went to check it out.

He looked and found Jaune and Pyrrha talking, "You think I need help?" Jaune asked.

"No that's not what I mean-"

"But you just said it?"

"Jaune, everyone needs a push from time to time to live up to their potential."

"You're wrong, it seems as though everyone will be better than me for as long as I'm here. Maybe coming here was a bad idea."

"Jaune what are you talking about? You made it to Beacon, through the entrance exam, and the initiation with us that speaks highly of how much potential you have."

"You're wrong. I don't deserve to be here. Look Pyrrha I… I didn't go to an academy, I didn't train like most, I didn't earn my spot in the academy. I lied. I got my hands on some fake transcripts and I lied."

"But why?" She asked, wanting to understand.

"Because this is what I wanted to be. My father, and his father before him they were all warriors, all heroes. I just wanted to be the same."

"Jaune," Pyrrha tried to reach out.

Jaune looked to Pyrrha and turned slightly, "Don't you understand. I am tired of being the lovable idiot while his friends are fighting for their life and have to save me."

"Please Jaune," Pyrrha tried again only for Jaune to turn away.

"I need to be alone."

Pyrrha looked hurt by this decision and just left without saying another word, as she walked past Aegeus but didn't register that.

"Wow Jaune," a voice said from the edge of the balcony.

"C-Cardin?!"

"Wow Jaunney boy. Didn't take you to be such a rebel."

"Please Cardin, don't tell anyone."

"Tell anyone, why would I do that to such a friend."

"A friend?"

"Yeah. We're friends now Jaune and from the looks of it. We will be for a while. Now I am not going to be able to do all those readings that Oobleck assigned so you wouldn't mind if you could take care of that for me."

"I...I"

"I mean, I could go to Glynda or Ozpin for help as well."

Jaune wasn't stupid enough to not realize what that truly meant and so he gave in, "Of course."

"Great. We'll see you tomorrow Jaune." Cardin then left the way he came and then heard a window close.

Jaune sighed, "What am I going to do?"

Argus decided to make his presence known as he left his spot and started walking to him, "Jaune," he called out.

"A-Argus did you hear all of that?"

"Yup," Aegeus said, still walking to Jaune.

"So what now, you're going to blackmail me too?"

Jaune didn't realize what happened next, as Argus punched Jaune in the face making him go fall a decent feet away from his original spot. "Agh. What the hell Argus-"

Jaune was cut off as Argus grabbed him by the collar and held him in a grip, "You disgust me. Do you know how much training that we go through just to get in? Everyone trained and deserves to be here, some more than others, but who are you to spit in the face of that and get in here scot free. Not only was it disrespectful to those who put so much effort in this, but you had the gall. The nerve to place yourself in such huge danger. People die in those initiations."

"Argus I-" Jaune was interrupted by another punch in the face by Aegeus.

"I'm not done so you are going to shut up and listen," Argus said shutting Jaune up. "Not only that when you had the opportunity to get stronger. The opportunity to actually become what you wanted to be and get help from someone that is one of the strongest in our year. Hell I think she is stronger than most people in this academy, you turned her down because of some macho shit you had in your head. It's not wrong to take help. It takes a real man to be able to accept that he needs help and that is what our team is for. And then you submit to Cardin?" Argus dropped Jaune, "You aren't a man, and you're certainly no hero."

Argus then walked away to let Jaune think of his actions. Argus went back to his dorm upset, and Drayce noticed this; however opted to say nothing.

After another day doing Cardin's dirty work, Jaune through the crack of his door saw that Pyrrha wasn't happy about the recent developments that were made. Jaune sighed and closed the door, "Hey Jaune." The voice from behind him made him jump a little before turning around to see Ruby there, "Did you lock yourself out again?"

Jaune shook his head nervously, "Oh uh no. I have it right here," he said as he showed her his scroll.

"So where have you been lately? Drayce and I have been wondering that for a while and Argus seems to be upset about it too."

Jaune sighed, "I… I messed up. Big time this time. I did something I shouldn't have and now Cardin has me on a leash, Pyrrha won't even talk to me, Argus hates my guts, and I'm starting to think that coming to this school was a bad idea," Jaune replied as he slid down the wall and sat there, "I'm a failure."

"Nope."

"Nope?"

"Nope. You're a leader now Jaune, you're not allowed to be a failure."

"But, what if I'm a failure at being a leader?"

"Hmm, nope."

Jaune chuckles, "You know you're not the easiest person to talk to about this stuff."

Ruby sits next to him, while trying to encourage him, "Nope, and honestly Drayce is way more qualified than me since he's had more experience leading but that's besides the point. The point is Jaune you might have been a failure as a kid," Jaune sighs as slumps, "You might have even been a failure when we first met," Jaune sighs again and slumps even deeper, "but you can't be one now and do you know why?"

"Uh because…"

"Because it's not just about you anymore. You have a team now Jaune, we both do. Drayce has had his team for years but for us this is new. And if we fail, then we would just be bringing them down with us. We have to put our teammates first," Ruby then stood up, "And ourselves second. Your team deserves a great leader Jaune, and I think that can be you." She walked to her dorm and opened the door, "Goodnight Jaune." Ruby then went inside her room, but unbeknownst to both Ruby and Jaune, Drayce whose dorm was around the corner was listening to everything and smiled at both leaders before going to sleep.

Several Days Later

Forever Fall Forest

"Yes students the forest of Forever Fall is beautiful but remember that we are not here to sight as Professor Peach has asked that you all gather samples from the trees in this forest, while I make sure that you don't die while doing so." Professor Goodwitch said as they all walked through the forest with jars. "Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap; however this forest is filled with creatures of grimm, so I advise that you stay with your team. Be back here by 4 o'clock. Dismissed."

Cardin yanked Jaune towards his team to which Jaune looked to Pyrrha but then complied with Cardin. Aegeus saw this and was slightly upset with this, which Drayce felt, "Aegeus," to which he responded with a hm, "Keep a watchful eye on them. They are going to try something, but don't act unless necessary," Argus nodded.

After some time of collecting sap Zyaire perked up, "Behind and to the right."

The rest of the team glanced behind them and to the right to see team CRDL, but went back to acting like they didn't see them but they listened.

"Cardin, what's going on?" Jaune asked.

"Payback."

Jaune followed his gaze to both Pyrrha and Drayce. "Pyrrha, Drayce…"

"That's them. The girl, Mrs. Know it all, thinks she's so smart. And him, always looking down on me. Always brushing me off as if I don't matter. Well boys Jaune here manage to gather an entire box of Rapier Wasps and we're going to put them to work."

"Hehehe…"Jaune chuckled nervously.

"Now according to the essay you wrote for me last week these nasty things love sweets. I think it's time to teach them a thing or two," he then got up from the ground and forced the jar of sap in Jaune's hands. "And you're going to do it."

"What?"

"Hit one of them with the sap, either that or I'll have a chat with Goodwitch and you'll be on the first airship out of Beacon," Cardin said. Jaune looked at the sap and prepared himself to throw it at either Pyrrha or Drayce as he looked between the two.

Meanwhile Argus was getting ready to summon his weapon, if he needed it so he waited for Jaune's answer.

"No…"

"What did you say?" Cardin asked.

"I said. No!" Jaune then threw the sap at Cardin as it shattered against his armor. Jaune, realizing what he had done, cowered slightly.

"Oh you've done it now." CRDL proceeded to grab him as Jaune began to chuckle nervously.

They moved to a different location and Drayce looked to Argus, "Follow them, but let Jaune handle the situation. Help only when needed." Argus nodded and followed them.

Cardin in a clearing was throwing Jaune around like a ragdoll while Dove and Sky laughed; however Russel wasn't so keen on doing this. "You made a big mistake. I'll make sure that Glynda sends you back home in tinie-tiny pieces."

Russel decided to speak up, "Hey why don't we just leave him alone. We've done enough."

"No we haven't! He thought it was a good idea to throw the sap at me so he will get his just punishment!" Cardin reared back a fist and punched Jaune, only for his aura to activate and protect him, hurting Cardin's hand forcing him to drop Jaune on his knees.

Jaune looked up at Cardin and stared into his eyes, "I don't care what you do to me, but you are not messing with my team and my friends."

Cardin gritted his teeth, and slammed his foot into Jaune's back forcing him down, "You think talk like that makes you tough. You think you're a big strong man now. Well it doesn't," Cardin's tone changed as it sounded as though he was emotionally distressed, "Only the strong should command. That is something I've learned and now it's time for you to learn."

"RAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRRR!"

They all turned to see a huge Ursa as it seemed to be an Ursa Major. It approached them however it stopped and smelled around to only get the scent of the sap on Cardin, as it roared again in Cardin's face.

Dove and Sky were terrified at the size of it, "That's a big Ursa!" Dove said as he and Sky ran away leaving their two other teammates as the Ursa slapped Cardin away and ignored both Jaune and Russell. Cardin tried to put up his mace but it was smacked away from him as Cardin was at its mercy. Russell had his hand on his knives but he hesitated.

Meanwhile in another part of Forever Fall

Teams RWBY, NPR, and RRZ were gathering more sap until they heard a roar from what they perceived as a Grimm. "What was that?"

"Ursa! Ursa!" Dove screamed as he was running.

Yang grabbed him before he could get away, "Where?"

Sky pointed at their previous location, "Over there! It's got Cardin and Russell!"

Yang was about to let him go until Drayce said, "You guys are coming with us. I feel after this is done I need to have a word with Team CRDL."

"Yang, Blake go get Professor Goodwitch." Yang nodded and ran with Blake.

Pyrrha then addressed both Ren and Nora, "You two go with them, there could be more."

Drayce leveled both Sky and Dove with a glare making them comply with his demands.

With Russell, Cardin, and Jaune

Cardin tried to run but was slashed back by the Ursa as everyone arrived. Russell sat there and contemplated on what to do with the Ursa about to slash to end Cardin, Russell grabbed his knives and moved. What he didn't realize was that Jaune moved with him as he blocked the claw away from Cardin and Russell attacked Grimm's midsection to get him away. "Russel, get Cardin out of here while I get the Grimm."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes your leader is hurt, that is something you should worry about first." Russell nodded, retrieved Cardin's weapon, and carried Cardin a little ways away, but stayed far enough to be able to observe Jaune.

Argus appeared to the others, Weiss noticed this, "You were here? Why didn't you-"

Argus cut of Weiss, "This is not our fight. This is Jaune's. He needs to prove himself that he belongs." Weiss put down her Rapier and watched.

Jaune went toe-to-toe with the Ursa; however he was losing ground as the Ursa hit him away again. Jaune checked his aura to see that it was in the red. Jaune gritted his teeth and charged at the Ursa which did the same. As they were near each other both took a swing at each other, but Jaune was lowering his shield as he swung making him open for an attack. Drayce sensed aura being used where Pyrrha was, he looked to where Jaune was to see his shield was rising.

Jaune felt the connection of the claw on his shield and reinforced his legs holding his ground and then swung up, decapitating Grimm's head off.

"Wait what?" Weiss asked.

"How did you?" Ruby asked.

"Well Ruby has her speed, you have your Glyphs, and Drayce has his armory. My semblance is polarity," Pyrrha explained.

Ruby gasped, "You could control poles."

"No you dunce, it means she has control over magnetism."

"Magnets are cool too."

"Well that sucks," all three looked at Drayce, "I was hoping to fight you without finding out your semblance before our fight well that sucks."

"Well, I know your semblance, so I would say we are even,"

"Not exactly," Drayce said as he walked to Jaune who was in front of Cardin.

"Whoa Jaune, I didn't know that you-" Cardin started but was cut off by Jaune.

"Don't mess with my team. My friends ever again." He said as he started to walk away, but Drayce was now with them.

"That was excellent Jaune, I knew you could do it."

Jaune smiled, "Thanks Drayce."

Drayce smiled back in kind and then turned to team CRDL, "Cardin you need to get you and your team together."

"Oh is that right and you are going to give us advice, mister high and mighty," Cardin retorted with sarcasm.

"Actually yes," He began, "To start off you two," He looked at both Dove and Sky, "Leave Beacon immediately on our return."

Everyone was shocked and surprised by his words (except his team), "Wait hold on, I understand that they are horrible but why do they need to leave," Weiss said.

"I agree, they may be horrible but that doesn't mean that they have to leave from one mishap," Pyrrha said.

Ruby stayed quiet and just watched Drayce, "No, they need to leave immediately and let me tell you why." He turned to Pyrrha and Weiss, "What do we aspire to be. Huntsman and Huntresses. We do not run when we are faced with danger, we move forward in order to protect our families, the people we care about, and people who can't protect themselves. They ran immediately in the face of danger, not only that but they left their teammates to die." Listening to all of this, Dove and Sky held their heads low, "They need to be evacuated from Beacon Academy and transfer to another profession because this profession is not meant for them."

"Now hold on just a minute just because you say that doesn't mean that-"

"He's right Cardin." Cardin was surprised to hear that as it came from his teammate and his friend Sky, "We do need leave. We honestly don't belong here."

"But-"

"Cardin we left you and Russell to die," Dove said, "How can we accurately call ourselves Huntsmen when we just abandon our leader like that. Besides honestly, you were the reason we wanted to become Huntsman in the first place."

"He's right," Russell started, "Even though I genuinely want to be a Huntsman, you were the driving force to help me get there. You were so passionate about saving people no matter who they were but now it feels like I don't even know you anymore sometimes."

"Cardin," Drayce called out with Cardin staring at him in the eyes with a fierce glance, "You were an embarrassment of a leader."

Cardin stopped for a moment, until Cardin started to grip his weapon tighter, 'Failure. You will never be like me. You can't do anything right can you. You're an embarrassment for a son.' Cardin stood up and roared as he charged at Drayce, "I'll show you, I'll never be an embarrassment again!"

"Cardin stop!" His team yelled out.

"Drayce!" Ruby, Weiss, and Pyrrha called out to him, but he didn't move. Ruby was about to use her semblance to get to him, but then she saw a blur go past her, "Huh?"

Right when Cardin was about to smash Drayce with his mace Argus came in front with his large katana and blocked his mace, "How did he get there so fast?" Weiss asked.

"He wasn't this fast before. Semblance maybe?" Ruby asked.

Drayce stood there as he looked at Cardin as Cardin tried to get through Argus to get to him but Argus was just much stronger, "Cardin you were an embarrassment not only to your team as a leader, but also as a Huntsman. When you chose to be a Huntsmen you took a silent oath. To protect people no matter who they are. Do you honestly think that you have upheld that oath?"

Cardin thought about it and the Velvet incident came to mind as he grimaced at the thought but shook his head, "It doesn't matter the only ones who have control are those who have power. You need power to make a difference."

"While yes strength is important but it is not the only thing that matters." Cardin looked at him in wonder, "Take Jaune for example. Jaune is weaker than you, he isn't strong; however what he doesn't have in strength he makes up with his mind. He's smart and knows how to run a team in battle and it showed in their battle with the Deathstalker at initiation." Drayce puts a hand on Argus shoulder and Argus stepped away and let his weapon vanish, "Strength is not the only way to make a difference. You were an embarrassment but you were right. You will never be an embarrassment ever again, but you will need to change in order to make that happen."

Cardin let go of his mace and everyone could see that Cardin actually had tears in his eyes, "But how? I can't not with my father-"

"You are not near your father," Carding looked to Ruby who spoke as she approached him, "We are your fellow Huntsman and Huntresses, we are Beacon Academy students, we can help you if you allow it."

"What do you say, Cardin?" Drayce held out his hand to be shook. Cardin contemplated for a second before shaking his hand and nodding.

On the ship back to Beacon

"Oh hey Argus," Ruby called out. Argus opened one eye and hummed, "How did you move so fast? Is your semblance a speed type like mine?"

"Yes I was wondering that as well," Weiss asked.

Everyone in the Bullhead looked at him, "Don't look at me. I'm not one who did it, if you want answers ask Drayce."

They all turned to him expecting an answer, to which he sighed, "Well remember when I told Pyrrha that she didn't exactly know about my semblance," they all nodded, "Well, you see. I have two semblances."

There was a long pause in the airship, "WHAT?!"

"Explain!" Ruby yelled.

"Okay, okay calm down. From what I know I just one day found out I had two semblances. My second semblance is what I like to call Aura Attachment."

"Aura Attachment?" Yang asked.

Drayce nodded, "I can transfer my aura to anyone giving a sort of boost in both speed and power along with restoring some of their aura. I can also bend my aura to my will to do this and have a pretty good control over it. Better than average; however I cannot transfer a lot to do with how potent and dense my aura is said to be." Drayce looked to Pyrrha, "Now we are even. And if you guys don't mind I'm going to take a nap." This made multiple people laugh and chuckle.

Later that night

At Beacon

Argus was at it again and since they didn't have snacks in the fridge he decided to go down and get some and on his return he heard both Jaune and Pyrrha again so he eavesdropped… again.

"I know I don't deserve it after all that's happened, but would still be willing to help me, to become a better fighter," Jaune asked. Pyrrha smiled as she turned around and closed her eyes and went back to Jaune and shoved him to the ground. "Hey! What's up with you and Argus shoving me?"

"Your stance is all wrong. You need to be wider and lower to the ground." She picked Jaune off the floor, "Let's try that again."

Argus smiled and decided to write a note and leave it at the door and walked back to his dorm. It read,

'If you ever need some extra lessons let me know -your friend Argus.'
