Hello everyone, how is everyone doing today? Chapter 2 is finally here and I hope you like it. I would like to say thank you to YellowAngela for being my first review and for the advice in the PM. It means a lot coming from you. I also want to thank to my best friend LadySora15 for proof reading this chapter for me. I would be nothing but jelly without your help. Hehe :3 Now its show time!

As I stated before, I don't own anything or anyone, except for Rosie.

It was lunchtime at Rosie's high school and she was enjoying her food on the bleachers. Ryan was doing his routine workout with the rest of the football team. As Ryan's best friend, Rosie decided to watch him from the bleachers.

Right beside her was Suzie and Emily, her other friends.

Suzie was done with her lunch and was busy filing her nails. Emily was reading a book while she nibbled on her sandwich. Everything was quiet with the girls except when Rosie stood up quickly and cheered, "Way to go Ryan!"

The girls jumped by the sudden outburst, Suzie gave Rosie the stink eye and Emily gave her a sheepish smiled.

"Hey Rose, why don't you simmer down for a bit? Wouldn't want the coach to kick us out." Emily calmly whispered.

Rosie blushed faintly and sat down before she apologized, "Sorry, I'm just proud of Ryan. He's finally the captain of the football team and improving the team. I'm sure he'll go above and beyond in the near future, I want to be there every step of the way."

Without batting an eye, Suzie examined her fingernails, "Sounds like you have a crush on Ryan."

"For the last time, we're just friends! Childhood best friends don't necessarily have to end up together." Rosie complained. Emily giggled and playfully punched Rosie's shoulders as she pointed out, "It does happen though."

Ever since Rosie and Ryan entered high school, some students spread rumors and people assumed that they were dating. It annoyed them but by now the duo ignore the gossip around school.

Rosie got up and grabbed her backpack before she walked down the bleachers, "It won't happen ladies."

Suzie stayed where she was and watched the team do their work out. Not wanting to leave Rosie alone, Emily decided to follow her. While throwing the football to one of his teammates, Ryan noticed Rosie and Emily leaving.

"Hey guys, take five. I need to do something first." Ryan told his team before he began to jog out of the field.

Before Rosie and Emily could leave pass the baseball field, Ryan called, "Rose! Hold up!"

Hearing Ryan made Rosie stopped and turned around. The boy hurried to them and panted, "Where are you two going? Lunch isn't over for another ten minutes."

"Well I planned on going to the library to look for a book. I finished reading The Maze Runner, so I might get the sequel to the book." Rosie answered.

Ryan looked at her and said, "Wait, weren't you crying about the ending when Chuck-"

Rosie's face turned sour and frowned, "You can't blame me! Chuck was a precious cinnamon roll and he sacrifice himself to save Thomas! Of course I would be crying about that."

Knowing that Rosie was getting emotional, Emily grabbed her shoulders and nervously smiled, "Why don't we return the book and find you something else to read?"

It took everything in Ryan's power to not laugh at Rosie, she was too passionate about the stories she read. He did nudge Rosie forward and said, "I'm sorry. Here, let me make it up to you. Try reading The City of Mask by Mary Hoffman."

Rosie gave him a skeptical look and narrowed her eyes, "It won't make me cry right?"

"You need to read it and find out." Ryan said before he hurried back to the field. The girls walked back inside the school and made there way upstairs until someone called out to Emily.

Emily turned and smiled when she noticed it was her boyfriend. Knowing that it was time for Emily to go, Rosie gave a nod and smiled, "Go. I'll see you at math class."

Emily's face brighten and the girls hugged each other farewell. Watching Emily leave made Rosie gloomy. With Ryan being so busy with football season and Emily having a boyfriend, Rosie realized she didn't have that many friends.

Suzie wasn't close to Rosie and she seems to prefer Ryan's company over her. There were times that Rosie wondered why she's even friends with her to begin with.

A sigh of misery escaped her lips and Rosie made her way to the library.

"Do you think I need to start dating Gizmo?" Rosie asked her dog as she was jumping on her trampoline. Both human and dog were out in the backyard for some relaxation time. While Rosie continued to bounce around and Gizmo began to growl.

The canine barked and continued to growl causing Rosie to giggled, "Dad is being a bad influence on you. He better not have trained you to attack any boy that dare comes here..."

Gizmo lay his head back down and curled up beside the large tree near the trampoline. He made eye contact with Rosie for a moment and she could have swore she saw some mischief in his eyes.

That made Rosie stopped jumping and she looked wide eye, "Wait a minute! Did dad train you to intimidate any boys that tries to date me?!"

There wasn't a respond. Gizmo let out a yawn and curled up to take a nap. Rosie thought Gizmo was smiling for a moment but decides to let it go.

Instead of jumping, Rosie got off her trampoline and went to lay on her stomach on the ground. Being right beside Gizmo made Rosie feel more peaceful. She gave her precious dog a big kiss on his head and whispered, "You are the best dog in the whole wide world. What would I do without you?"

Gizmo continued to sleep and started to faintly snore.

"Rose, you need to finish your homework." Rebecca called out to her from inside the house. Rosie groaned in misery before she kept slamming her forehead against the ground.

"Man...I hate art class." Rosie mumbled faintly and got up.

For art class, Mr. Nelson assigned the class homework. There job was to find something around their house that is still life. It can vary from plants to lamps, the point is to draw the item and add in shade and depth. The thing about Mr. Nelson is that he would pick on Rosie and a handful of kids about their techniques.

Now Rosie wasn't an artist but she did love to draw. When it comes to drawing in Mr. Nelson's class, Rosie doesn't find inspiration for her work. It doesn't help that Mr. Nelson is such a pain in the-

Gizmo barked loudly to gain Rosie's attention and she sigh, "I'm going. Geez."

Rosie got up and went inside the house with Gizmo trailing behind her. After looking around the house for a solid five minutes, Rosie settles with a bottled plant on a coffee table.

It took Rosie about half an hour to finish her drawing...it wasn't bad but it wasn't perfect either. Something about the leaves made Rosie want to cringe in disgust and crawl under a rock.

"It looks great sweetie." Rebecca admitted peering over Rosie's shoulder. The poor girl jumped and threw her sketchbook across the room. If it weren't for Six walking in the living room and catching the book, papers would be flying everywhere.

Rosie turned bright red and grabbed a cushion to cover her face, "Mommy! Don't scare me like that!"

"Rosie you're usually more alert than that. Are you okay?" Rebecca worriedly said as she felt her forehead. Six approached them and handed Rosie back her book. After she put the cushion down and looked up at her parents, "I just don't like to show my art work to anyone. Unless its Mr. Nelson, which is something I have no control over."

Six mentioned, "Well since you're doing well in school and hadn't cause any trouble...yet."

Rosie raised an eyebrow and didn't know where this was going. Rebecca gently elbowed her husband for him to continue.

"...Your mother and I have decided to let you come to Providence base with us this weekend. Only under the condition that you stay with your mother when there's the sign of trouble." Six sternly said and crossed his arms.

Was Rosie dreaming? Is this really happening to her? Nothing came out of Rosie as she felt gears slowly running in her skull before she gasped, "R-Really? No take backs!"

Rebecca smiled and replied, "This could help you with gaining experience on the field. But there won't be much action since you'll be at the lab with you. All you need to do is watch what I'm doing. Maybe when you're older, you'll go on the field with your father and uncle Rex."

"I'll take whatever I can get! Thank you mom! Thank you dad! You guys are the best!" Rosie squealed and hugged her parents tightly.

This was finally Rosie's chance to shine, sure she won't be doing anything fun. But this was better than nothing. Besides, what's the worse that can happen to Rosie while she's on the base?

I wonder what could possibly happen? Something good? Something bad? Maybe both? Who knows until Chapter 3 comes out. Since this week, my classes got cancelled from meeting at Campus, I do have a little free time. My goal is to finish Chapter 3 before Friday but things might get in the way. However! I won't let any of you down! I'll see you guys later and have a good night! :D
