As stated in the last chapter, this is part two! This will contain some action sense (even though I'm not good at writing that lol). For those of you wondering, the code word means, 2 Scary And Dangerous Creatures In Sight. Since Ryan and Rosie known each other since Kindergarten, so they have their secret codes. I'll explain future codes as the story progresses.
"RUN!" Aaron yelled and started blasting at the monsters when they began charging at them.
Without hesitating, Rosie quickly hurried to where the hole was on the ceiling of the lair. She looked around frantically for some way to climb up. However, Rosie was slammed against the wall by the lizard creature.
The lizard raised its arm claw up to strike at Rosie but she quickly threw a shuriken at its side. The roars of pain echoed around the lair and Aaron kept blasting at the humanoid monster. "Rose! Are you okay?" Aaron yelled and Rosie stumbled away from the lizard as she flicked her wrist to make another shuriken appear in her hand.
"I've experience worse. How do we get out of here? There's nothing for us to climb up to the surface?" Rosie yelled and hurried to Aaron. They quickly had their backs against each other and focused on their opponents.
Aaron tried to think of something until they heard Ryan yelled, "Guys! Are you okay?!"
Rosie looked up to see Ryan through the hole and called out, "We can't get out! WAIT A MINUTE! I told you to get back to the car!"
The creatures kept curling around Aaron and Rosie, they waited for a perfect opportunity to strike their prey.
Rosie flinched when she felt something hit her head, it didn't harm her but she looked up to see it was some rope. Ryan screamed, "Just shut up and climb up!"
Aaron kept blasting at the creatures and commanded, "Go on Rosie! I'll hold them up!"
Not wanting to cause anymore trouble, Rosie frantically started climbing the rope and Ryan held it steady from above. When Rosie made it to the top, Ryan pulled her out of the hole and they looked down to see how Aaron was doing.
They spotted Aaron fighting off the creatures the best he could and was soon running out of bullets. Rosie made two shurikens appear in her hands from her sleeves and threw them at the creature's chest.
Once they were distracted, Aaron started climbing the rope while Rosie and Ryan kept pulling the rope to speed up the rescue process. Aaron got out of the hole and breathe heavily once he lay down on the ground. "Are you okay?" Rosie worriedly asked and checked on Aaron.
Before Aaron could say anything, everyone jumped when the humanoid creature burst through the floor. "Go go!" Aaron screamed and made sure Ryan and Rosie were the first ones out of the shed. He follow them and the creature burst out of the shed soon after.
"Where's the girls?!" Rosie yelled and kept running without looking back. Ryan lead the way to where the van was and remarked, "They're in the van with the doors locked. When Emily told me the code, I had to make sure they were safe before I went looking for you two."
"Tell them to open the doors! I'm going to drive!" Aaron grunted and Ryan tossed him the keys.
When they made it to the van, Emily quickly unlock the doors. Ryan hurried to the back seat while Aaron and Rosie went to the driver and passenger seat. After turning the key in the ignition, the van started and Aaron started to floor it.
Suzie and Emily were holding up to their seats and Ryan looked at the back window, "Holy shit! There's two of them!?"
Aaron glanced at the rear view mirror and muttered under his breathe. The creatures were chasing them from behind, they almost close to the van. The girls screamed loudly in horror and held onto each other. Rosie desperately tried to find something in her backpack. After searching for a minute, Rosie pulled out her phone and check if she had any signals.
There was still no bars and Rosie jolted up in fear when Aaron slammed on the breaks. "Why did we stop!?" Ryan yelled loudly before Aaron parked the car and grunted, "They've blocked us in."
"I still don't have any signals to call my parents." Rosie grunted and tossed Aaron a small steel pipe. Aaron raised an eyebrow until Rosie added, "Press the button on the middle of the pipe and it will turn into a staff." Aaron and Rosie exit the car and they face the two creatures. Ryan went to the driver's seat and said, "I'll drive away to see if I can get a signal! I'll call your parents!
"Go then!" Rosie yelled and stayed beside Aaron. The lizard hissed dangerously at them and the humanoid quickly hurried to climb up the trees to hide. Aaron frowned when he kept hearing the rustling noises above them but it fade away. The noise was heading down the trail Ryan was driving to and Aaron mentally cursed. He stepped forward with the steel staff and ordered, "I hate to say this, but I need you to go follow that thing. Now."
Rosie looked at Aaron and whispered, "What about you?"
"I'll be fine." Aaron promised and ran to the lizard. For a few seconds, Rosie stayed where she was and then started running towards the pathway. She tried to keep up with the van but Rosie kept an eye on the rustlings in the leaves from the trees.
She flick her wrists and make the shurikens appear on her palms.
'I only have ten more shurikens left. Make them last Rosie.' Rosie thought to herself and ran a little faster to catch up to the humanoid. To take down the creature, Rosie had to focus on hitting her target at the right spot.
There was a pattern that Rosie noticed the humanoid made. It would jump over three branches before it would make another leap. She had to keep track of it.
Jump...1, 2, 3...jump...1, 2, 3...jump.
Rosie waited for the creature to jump over the 2 branch until she threw her shurikens at the creature. What made her jump was the loud demonic screams that the humanoid let out. She backed away when it fell on the ground in front of her.
The black beady eyes glared at her and Rosie turned pale.
"I'm so dead..." Rosie whispered before she ran away. She kept jumping over some logs and ducking on some things appearing in front of her. The humanoid still was chasing her and Rosie wasn't sure how to get out of this situation.
What surprised Rosie was seeing a little girl with black hair appeared up ahead. The girl looked like she could be four years old and was wearing a dirty hospital gown. Her arms and legs were covered with scars and some bandages. The girl's eyes looked dull and...hopeless?
Rosie was stunned for a moment until she called out, "Hey! Watch out!"
The girl flinched and tried to hide behind a tree until Rosie ran to her and scooped her up in her arms. Once the girl was in Rosie's arms, she continued running and said, "What are you doing here?"
No response from the girl, she only trembled in Rosie's arms which confused her.
"What's going on-AH!" Rosie screamed when the humanoid jumped and appeared in front of them. The creature screeched loudly and raised its scythe arm up. Rosie quickly turned and shield the little girl from any harm's way.
Rosie yelped when she got slashed at the back and was pushed forward. Her head hit a tree and Rosie fell to the ground as she was unconscious. The little girl stared at her savior in horror and then glanced at the creature.
Aaron panted heavily as he held his side in pain. A small squadron from Providence had arrived. Rex was able to restrain the lizard creature with ease and let the agents restrain it. He did try to cure the lizard, thinking it was actually an EVO.
"Is it incurable?" Aaron guessed when Rex frowned, indicating that he couldn't cure the lizard.
Rex continued to frown and admitted, "I can't explain this. It has nanites and I cured it, but it wont change back."
Aaron looked at him and said, "Do you think someone experimented on this lizard and made it this way?"
"That would make sense." Rex admitted and focused on his attention to some agents, "Any luck yet?"
They shook their heads before one stated, "Agent Six and Doctor Holiday are still trying to find their daughter? The GPS is leading them further in the woods."
Aaron looked upset and clench his fists tightly, he was getting angry at himself for letting Rosie out of his sight. His mission will be a complete failure if Rosie wasn't fine when they find her. However, their situation was justify since they did have three civilians at risk.
Luckily, he noticed Rosie was walking with her parents as she was holding her arm in pain. Aaron hurried to her and asked, "Are you okay?"
Rosie gave a slight nod and whispered, "I'm okay. Mom said I might have a concussion."
Aaron felt relief and then looked at Six as he asked, "What about that weird looking creature?"
Six frowned, "It was crushed by a tree. We found Rosie unconscious on a bed of flowers. She told us she found a little girl but we couldn't find her anywhere."
"I'm not crazy. I did see a little girl, she must have helped me back there before she escaped." Rosie insisted and flinched when Rebecca touched her head to see if there wasn't bumps.
"We'll handle finding her but it could have been a hallucination." Rebecca admitted and held Rosie close. Aaron glanced at the direction where the shed was and raised an eyebrow. Should he tell them about the lair that they found? Or have they already discovered it.
Rosie stumbled a little before she held onto her mother's arm, "I think I should head home..."
"We'll go home soon. You're not going to school tomorrow, we need to make sure you're okay." Rebecca said and Rosie began to winced, "But mom-"
Aaron set Rosie down in her bed after carrying her upstairs, she said, "Thank you."
"Don't mention it." Aaron said and was about to leave the room until Rosie called out to him. He slowly turned and asked, "What is it?"
Rosie shifted on her bed awkwardly and then looked up at Aaron slowly, "Did...they find anything in the lair?"
The agents told Aaron to not tell Rosie anything about what they found in the hidden lair. However, he saw the pleading look in her eyes and Aaron couldn't help himself. Before he told Rosie anything, Aaron closed the door and crossed his arms, "They've found out that there's a large tank of secure nanites. It was in a large lab and...there was some dry blood on the examining tables. We did discover some old files in some cabinets."
The new information made Rosie perked up and asked, "Was there something about a little girl?"
Aaron hesitated, if he tells Rosie about the girl. What he found out about the child made him sick to his stomach. He decides to keep it a secret for the time being, it was for Rosie's sake.
"There wasn't anything about the girl you said. We did find some other files about the people that had the nanites forcibly in their systems. Some of these people were reported missing a long time ago." He sigh.
Rosie looked disappointed but she admitted, "Those people didn't deserve to go through all that..."
Aaron sigh and then opened the door, "It's been a long day. Why don't you get some sleep?"
He was about to open the door until Rosie told him to leave it open. Gizmo entered the room and he jumped on the bed to sleep on Rosie's bed. Rosie smiled faintly and gave her beloved dog some scratches behind his ear. "You know how to calm me down buddy." Rosie whispered and giggled when he licked her face quickly.
Her laughter was heard from Aaron's room and he chuckled quietly. His chuckle didn't last for long, Aaron looked at a file that was labeled 'Avalon Van Kleiss'.
Aaron slowly placed the file in a small safe in his closet and made sure it was locked. He will tell Rosie about Avalon when they successfully find the child. Right now, it would be a classified case that shouldn't be talked about anytime soon.
"Did anyone else saw Ava?" A young man told one of his workers as he was watching the remaining Providence agents investigating the entrance of the lair. He was at the mountains and used a set of binoculars to see them from a safe distance.
"No sir. The only one that saw her was a girl name Rosie base on our sources." One of the henchmen told him. "Zane, we found Ava." Another told Zane and he set the binoculars down.
Zane calmly looked at Ava who stared at him fearfully in his trusted employee's arms. Ava could see the hatred and annoyance in Zane's cold green eyes and coward deeper in Lucas's arms.
"Oh Avalon, when will you learn? I need you for our future plans. The world is a dangerous and cruel place, do you think that they would accept you?" Zane remarked and Ava didn't say a word. She knew better than to talk back to Zane.
Lucas looked at Zane and held Ava closer in his arms, "What shall we do about Ava's escape attempt?"
Zane walked past him and headed inside an opening to a cave. "Have her caregiver be executed. Hire someone else to watch over Avalon. Make sure the next one can keep Ava from running off."
"Yes sir." Lucas told him and walked inside the cave with Ava. The inside of the cave was a specially designed lair that was high tech and spotless. Ava trembled in fear and she was thinking about the kind lady that tried to save her.
'Do you think that they would accept you?' Zane's words echoed in the child's head and she began to tear up. Was it really true? If the kind lady found the truth about her, would she regret Avalon like everyone else have in the past?
Ava sniffled and let a tear fall from her eye as she began to lose hope.
So that's it for chapter 7! I should have stated this in the beginning but I didn't want to spoil the surprise at the end! :D Ava is LadySora15's oc and she gave me permission to use her. I did some changes for her but she's here! I won't tell you much about her and she will make another appearance in the later chapters. I can't guarantee that she will come back in the next five chapters. She will be mentioned but Ava won't appear until we get further in the story.

I can tell you this, its challenging here trying to get my siblings up to date with their assignments/homework. Their teachers had to call me to make sure they don't get behind. Its a struggle but I have to keep pushing them forward the best I can.
