I'm not going to lie, halfway through this chapter, I almost had some writer's block. Luckily I finished this chapter and hope its interesting for you guys. This chapter might seem like a filler but the plot line will continue.
Thank you for the review again YellowAngela. Now...to answer your question, yes Van Kleiss will appear in the story. However, it won't be soon, it will probably happen later on. I can't wait for when all the juicy stuff happens :D
Now without further ado, let the chapter begins! :)
Everything seem so dark and vacant, there was nothing to be seen for miles. Rosie frowned and kept walking around the empty fields. No matter how far she walked, Rosie felt like she wasn't going anywhere. It was almost like she was stuck in place.
Rosie sigh and stopped where she was and looked around for something.
"Hello?" Rosie's voice echoed around the dark abyss of a room.
No one gave a response to her. It wasn't until Rosie spotted something from a distance. There was a dozen large vines that kept someone restraint. Rosie frowned and slowly started walking towards the person.
She looked horrified to see Ava was the one restrain by the vines. They held her arms above the ground and she stared at nothing. "S-Sweetie!" Rosie screamed and tried to run to her.
Rosie gasped when she was pushed back from getting close to Ava. She looked up and noticed Ava was surrounded by a force field. "What the heck?" Rosie whispered and touched the force field. Ava slowly looked up and stared at Rosie with her dull hazel eyes.
That broke Rosie's heart, it almost seem like the girl was broken and she was losing hope. There was no light in her eyes and Rosie stared at her sadly. "What are they doing to you? Don't worry, I'll find a way to help you." Rosie said with determination in her voice.
"Please don't come here." Ava quietly said and started to tear up. Rosie looked surprised and kept her hand on the force field, "Why would you say that?"
"Please! I don't want you to get hurt!" Ava begged and Rosie flinched when someone pulled her away violently. She struggled to get away and she screamed loudly. When Rosie tried to reach for Ava, her vision became dark and cloudy.
Rosie grunted and yelled, "I will rescue you sweetie! Count on that!"
Ava stared at Rosie and something was slightly changing in her eyes. It was the last thing that Rosie saw before everything was gone.
Rosie gasped loudly and sat up from her bed quickly. She breathe heavily and looked around her room frantically. Gizmo lifted his head up and looked at Rosie from the edge of the bed.
He began to winced and nudge his head against Rosie's hand to calm her down. Rosie pat his head and whispered, "Sorry I woke you up buddy."
It was still too early since outside Rosie's window, she could see its still nighttime. She looked at her alarm clock and sigh when it was 2 in the morning. There was no chance that Rosie could go back to sleep and she knew it.
"Stay here Gizmo. I'll be right back." Rosie whispered and Gizmo obeyed by curling up on her bed and falling back to sleep.
Rosie went through the door and peeked around the corner. No one was awake yet and it was a good thing on her end. She wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone right now. This time, Rosie wants to be left alone.
After making her way downstairs, Rosie went to sit on the couch.
'Calm down Rosie...Try to read a book or watch TV.' Rosie thought and she grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. Before she could change the channels, Rosie made sure to put the volume as quiet as possible.
Was this going to be a constant thing for Rosie? Is she losing her mind? What did that nightmare or dream mean to her?
Rosie watched the movie and tried to get her mind off of things. Eventually she slowly drifted back to sleep.
"Are you okay sweetie?" Rebecca asked Rosie while they were eating breakfast. Rosie looked exhausted and she had small bags under her eyes. Its obvious that she didn't sleep well last night but Rebecca made sure Rosie would open up to her first.
Rosie slowly looked at her and whispered, "Huh?"
Rebecca and Six looked at each other before they glanced back at their daughter once more. She was trying to eat her cereal with a fork. Instead of milk in the bowl, it was orange juice and Rosie wasn't even batting an eye on what was happening.
Rebecca said, "Sweetie, did you sleep at all last night?"
Rosie slowly shook her head and looked down at her bowl. She looked surprised to see the orange juice with her favorite cereal. What startled her was the fork in her hand, Aaron ate a piece of his toast and said, "Geez, you're really losing it Rose."
That remark made Rosie glare at him and set her fork down. "I really wish I went to school today..."
"You'll return tomorrow. You parents want you to recover from yesterday's incident. Look, just relax or something." Aaron told her and Rosie didn't looked amused. Rebecca touched Rosie's forehead to see if she was having a fever. Luckily her forehead wasn't warm and Rosie sigh quietly.
She looked at her mother and whispered, "Can I hang out with Ryan?"
"I can drive-" Aaron began until Rosie frowned, "Alone."
Six set his newspaper down and said, "He can come over if he wants. I don't want you to go by yourself at his place."
Rosie raised an eyebrow and didn't say a word. She pulled out her phone and started texting Ryan.
"Dude, you look like hell." Ryan remarked as he was waiting at the front door. Rosie came out with wearing a sports bra with a tank top over it. She had some black leggings and wore some worn out sneakers.
She gave him a tired look and put her hair in a sloppy ponytail. "Thanks, girls love hearing that."
Ryan immediately felt bad and apologized, "I didn't mean it like that. What's going on?"
Rosie didn't want to respond yet and walked ahead. It made Ryan quickly followed her and they speed walked away from her house. Ryan glanced back and noticed Aaron looking out of one of the windows. He looked back and stayed close to Rosie, "And I thought you dad was overprotective...Why didn't your bodyguard come along?"
Rosie sigh, "I told Aaron to stay home. I need some time away from him. Besides, my parents think its for the best that I get some fresh air. But we have to go back home after an hour."
It didn't take much for Ryan to notice Rosie need someone to talk to. He stopped her and looked concerned, "What's really going on?"
"I...I don't know. I feel like I'm going insane. Ryan when we were at the forest...I saw someone." Rosie admitted and he tilt his head slightly.
When Ryan returned home, Rosie text him about what happened when he left. He continued to listen and Rosie continued, "I saw this little girl...She looked so scared. Her arms and legs were covered in bandages and I have a feeling she's real. But everyone is telling me that it must be in my head."
Ryan wasn't sure what to say but he hugged her tightly and said, "All I can say is...don't let this bother you so much. Maybe everyone is keeping it a secret from you. After all, you're not an official agent yet."
That could be it but Rosie still hates being in the dark.
"I guess." Rosie whispered and looked down. Ryan immediately perked up and said, "Don't be sad! Let's go for a run around the block! Last one there is a rotten egg!"
Ryan made a run for it down the street causing Rosie to stare. She slowly smiled and shook her head before she hurried after him.
Rosie could always count on Ryan to make her feel better.
"How the hell are you not catching your breathe?" Ryan panted as he was bright red and sat on the ground. Rosie was sweating and she wiped the sweats off her forehead. She shrugged and began to stretch, "Well, I do exercise and train with my dad almost every day...plus there's P.E. class. How are you like this if you're the captain of the football team?"
Ryan glared at her and mumbled, "Shut up. Its just pure exercises."
Rosie grinned and crossed her eyes but noticed a familiar car in her driveway. Ryan noticed it as well and asked, "Hey isn't that your Uncle Caesar and Aunt Beverly's car?"
Before Rosie replied, she heard a familiar whistle from her backyard. Her eyes lit up and squealed happily as she ran to the backyard. When she opened the fence door, Rosie spots Julio and Lucia.
"Julio! Lucia!" Rosie greets her older cousins as they immediately smiled. Lucia hugged her little cousin tightly and smiled, "We really miss you Rosie."
Rosie smiled and Julio ruffled her hair as he smiled, "You hadn't caused any trouble while we're gone. Right?"
"Well, I hadn't gotten arrested yet. So that's good." Rosie giggled and Lucia nudge at her. "Well, you've been more stubborn than usual. Rosie pretends to look shock and gasped, "Me? Being stubborn, that can't be true."
"Hey Julio. Hi Lucia." Ryan waved and smiled at the twins as he approached them. Julio put the boy in a head lock and grinned, "Sup man."
Rosie smiled at them and Lucia linked arms with her cousin. "Hey, our parents and your parents are letting us have some fun before dinner. We should go somewhere fun."
"Like what?" Rosie asked when Julio dragged Ryan to the girls and grinned, "We're going to the abandoned warehouse. Lucia has been getting some texts from her friends that its haunted. But I want to prove that its probably a myth."
Lucia gave her twin brother a look before she remarked, "Just because we're in college, it doesn't mean that I won't stop believing in ghosts."
While the twins were having a slight argument, Rosie and Ryan were staring at each other. They felt like this was a repeat of what happened yesterday and Rosie didn't like this. "I don't know guys...I had something happened to me yesterday. I just don't want anything crazy to happen."
Lucia hugged the young girl tightly and smiled, "Don't worry, this place is perfectly fine. Lots of people go here for the thrills of finding ghosts. Come on Rose, it'll be like the old days...Please?"
Rosie winced faintly and sigh, "...Fine...what's the worse that happen?"
