Hello everyone! How are you guys doing today? Sorry it took a few days, I got caught up with watching Naruto and helping my mom with some wedding decorations. Which was amusing but luckily the story is finally here.
Without further ado, let the chapter begin!
In the living room, Rosie looked around for something and she smiled softly. She heard the sound of giggling coming from behind her. When she turned around, no one was there but she noticed a little girl was trying to sneak past her.
"Gotcha!" Rosie smiled and picked up the little girl causing her to squealed.
A little boy ran towards them and said, "I'll save you sis! Let her go big sis!"
Rosie looked down at the little boy and giggled, "Oh no! I've been defeat by the brave knight!"
The boy looked excited and then ran back upstairs to get something while the girl looked at Rosie, "Why didn't you save me Lindy?"
"H-Huh?" Rosie asked and noticed the little girl in her arms was now Ava. She looked distraught and frantically whispered, "I-I will save you! I promise!"
"Then why did you pick this life? You know it will never come true...Breach is lying..." Ava whispered and Rosie screamed when someone grabbed her face and tried to pull her back.
Rosie jolted up and breathe heavily as she tried to calm down. She glanced at the clock and groaned miserably when she realized that it was 3 in the morning. Now wasn't a good time that the nightmares should be happening. In a few hours, Rosie and Aaron are going with Six to the base to boost up their training session.
They were to go through an obstacle course and start a sparring session. From there, Six would see where they need to improve on with their weak points. If Rosie doesn't get much sleep then she won't focus for the day of training
Rosie grabbed her phone and slowly put her headphones on. When she opened the Spotify app and pressed on her playlist and closed her eyes. The sound of a piano started playing and Rosie began to relax. Until she heard the first lines of the song, "She walks to school with the lunch she packed. Nobody knows what she's holdin' back."
"You've got to be kidding me." Rosie whispered and opened her eyes to look at her phone screen. The title of the song was Concrete Angel played by Martina McBride. At this point, Rosie wonders if the universe is trying to torture her or push her forward.
Without much hope of falling asleep, Rosie slowly pulled out her laptop and insert the flash drive in the USB drive. Rosie decides to continue with her hacking skills to see if she can figure out the password for the locked files. So far she has the first three letters of the code, NEW.
"Let's see how far I can get with this." Rosie whispered and started to get back to work.
As the sun was heating up the obstacle course, Rosie and Aaron were at the starting line. They were focused and getting ready for Calan to give them the signal. While they were outside the Providence base, Rex and Six were watching them from a distance.
"Who do you think will finish the course first? My bet is on Rosie?" Rex grinned.
Six said, "This is not a race Rex. We're just observing them to see where do Rosie and Aaron need to improve with their skills."
"But you are rooting for Lindy, right?" Rex asked but Six didn't respond to his question. Except Six crossed his arms and the corner of his lip twitched slightly.
Calan made sure Rosie and Aaron were ready and he said, "Remember to complete the course in a steady pace. Don't mess around and try to avoid getting hurt."
Aaron simply nod his head and got ready to run while Rosie stretched her legs. They got heard Calan blew the whistle and they quickly started to run.
For the first section of the course, Rosie and Aaron would have to crawl under a bunch of barb wire. Rosie had a head start as she got on her stomach and quickly crawled. Aaron followed closely behind and grunted when he felt the wire cut his skin slightly.
Once they exit the barb wire course, the next thing would be climbing the wall. It wasn't going to be easy for them since the wall was smooth.
"How are they going to get over the wall?" Rex asked and Six watched them carefully. Rosie was talking to Aaron about something and motioned him to go back. When Aaron took a few steps back, Rosie crouch down with her hands cup together.
Aaron ran forward and jumped when his foot was on Rosie's hands. She lifted him up quickly so Aaron could make it to the top of the wall.
"Ready to jump?" Aaron asked while he sat at the edge of the wall. Rosie nodded and jumped to reach Aaron's hand.
"Impressive." Calan admitted, he watched the both of them working together through the obstacles. Rex said, "They seem to have more trust with each other."
Six narrowed his eyes at Aaron when he and Rosie finished the course. Rosie hugged Aaron tightly and it made Aaron blushed faintly. When Aaron hugged her back, he could have sworn that he felt some burning daggers at the back of his head.
Aaron thought, 'If looks could kill, I would be dead.'
Rosie grabbed Aaron's wrist and dragged him back to where Six, Rex and Calan. "How did we do?" Rosie asked and wiped the sweats on her forehead.
"You two finished the course in a timely manner. Good job." Calan smiled and pat Rosie's head. She smiled brightly and Six added, "Now comes the next part of your training. You two would have to spare against me."
Aaron and Rosie nervously glanced at each other and wondered how many bruises they'll have at the end of the training session.
Back at the house, Rosie and Aaron were at the back porch relaxing. Well they tried but the bruises all over their bodies weren't helping the situation. The young adults were sitting on the porch swing and Rosie slowly lay her head against Aaron's shoulder.
"On a scale from one to ten...How sore are you right now?" Rosie groaned. Aaron moved his head back and mumbled, "How about 100,000? Your dad wasn't holding back."
"I did noticed that while we were training with him. Did you get him upset or something? He didn't hold back on his punches with you." Rosie admitted.
The nineteen year old had a guess to what he did to make Six upset but he wasn't going to tell Rosie. Before they could continued to relax, Gizmo walked to them with his leash in his mouth. The canine looked at Rosie excitedly and wagged his tail, he wanted to go for a walk.
Rosie bit her lip and sigh, "Okay Gizmo. We'll go for a walk."
Gizmo dropped the leash on Rosie's lap and waited beside the porch swing for her to get up. "Do you want to come along?" Rosie asked Aaron, who smiled and said, "Sure."
Rosie attached the leash to Gizmo's harness and held the handle of the leash. Aaron walked closely beside Rosie and had his hands in his pockets as Gizmo walked ahead. The neighborhood was quiet and calm for a Thursday night.
Normally there would be kids around either riding their bikes or playing games with their friends. The neighborhood was safe and nothing bad ever happened around the streets. So Rosie loves to walk Gizmo around the neighbor.
"Did you finish your homework for Ms. Shield's class?" Aaron asked trying to make small talk. Recently Aaron has been trying to be more friendly towards Rosie but still felt awkward about it. Knowing this, Rosie smiled and softly said, "Yes I did. It was kind of easy, we're almost gone with To Kill a Mockingbird."
Aaron tried to ask her another question when they heard All Might's voice loudly announced, "A PHONE CALL IS HERE! A PHONE CALL IS HERE!"
Rosie blushed heavily and hurried to answer her phone, "Hello?"
'...She can't be serious with that ringtone.' Aaron thought and grabbed the leash from Rosie so she can continued her phone call. When Rosie was a few feet away, she continued to listen to Ryan. He was rambling on about how he and Suzie are finally going on a date and that Rosie should tag along for a double date.
Rosie resist the urge to sigh and whispered, "As much as I would love to but I'm busy doing stuff and don't have a date."
"Come on Rose! Suzie is setting you up on a date with one of her guy friends. Please come with us." Ryan begged and Rosie rolled her eyes. If Suzie is picking the guy then that can't be good for Rosie. She tried to convince Ryan to take Emily and her boyfriend. However, Ryan wouldn't budge and he decides to blackmail Rosie to make her go.
Ryan took a deep breathe and said, "Look Rosie, if you don't go then I'll tell you parents about the flash drive."
Rosie stayed quiet and Ryan immediately regrets telling her that but Rosie sternly said, "You get ONE chance, tell the guy to get pass my dad first and then I'll go on the date. BUT if he does something that I don't like then I'm leaving. Understand?"
"Yes ma'am." Ryan quietly said and sigh when Rosie hung up on him.
It took Rosie a minute to finally process what just happened and she slowly walked back to Aaron and Gizmo. Sensing something happened to Rosie, Aaron decides to ask what was wrong. Rosie looked at Aaron awkwardly and said, "Well...I have a date tomorrow...and I have no choice but to go."
"You're going on a date?" Aaron raised an eyebrow and she looked down. They started to walk back home and Gizmo stayed close to Rosie.
"Ryan blackmailed me. I don't have much options but I did warn him that if anything happens, I'm out." Rosie admitted and winced when Aaron remarked, "What kind of friends blackmail each other? Your dad won't like this."
A smirk appeared on Rosie's lips and said, "That's the plan! Dad has some sharpening tools ready in his office when the day comes that I bring a boy home. All dad has to do is scare the boy away and I'm home free. Which can't be that hate, dad can be intimidating."
"Boy do I know it." Aaron quietly mumbled causing Rosie to look up at him, "What was that?"
"Nothing."
I hope you guys like this chapter and the next one might be out next week. Depending if I can get things done sooner. Actually, I hope to post something for Childhood Memories on May 4th and then I'll focus on Chapter 13.
Thank you for your review YellowAngela! I'm glad you like how I used your characters, it was interesting to put them as a cameo. Breach is an interesting character and using her was a challenge to me. However, I figure things out and makes you worry if she's an ally or foe.
Now I must sign off for now but I'll be back soon :) Good bye everyone, have a nice day and as always, stay safe out there :)
