Without further ado, let the chapter begin!
The second that Rosie slowly opened her eyes, she noticed something wrong. She noticed her room was upside down and frowned.
"What the?" Rosie whispered and looked around slowly.
Her legs were dangling on her bed while Rosie's entire body was laying on the floor. She sat up and cracked her neck. How did she end up on the floor?
Rosie peeked at her bed and smiled softly. Ava was sleeping contently in her bed with Gizmo curled up beside her. Seeing them both made Rosie's heart melt even more. It suddenly hit Rosie like a pile of bricks. Ava is safe from Zane but he escaped with Van Kleiss and Breach. She might have to deal with them later.
It was still early in the morning and Rosie couldn't fall back asleep. Before Ava was finally rescued, Rosie's couldn't sleep because of the guilt she felt of letting her go. However, having her here is making the nightmares go away slightly. That might be a good sign.
Rosie slowly got up and pulled a blanket over Ava. She softly kissed her forehead. Without making a sound, Rosie grabbed a journal on her small desk and left her room.
When she walked down the hallway, a door silently opened and Aaron peeked out of the room. He watched Rosie make her way downstairs, Aaron sneaked after her without being detected.
Rosie made her way to the couch and made her back lean against the arm rest. Aaron stayed at the bottom of the stairs, he peeked around the corner and made sure to keep an eye on her. Rosie couldn't see Aaron since she had her back against where Aaron was standing.
Aaron noticed Rosie was writing in her journal, he carefully sat at the last step and waited for Rosie to be finished.
However Aaron was curious to what was on the journal. He glanced over Rosie's shoulder and made sure he wasn't caught.
"During my time with the ruthless Zane, I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep. I had to keep my guard up. Base on what Lucas told me, Zane is insane. There are many times that I could have gotten me and Ava out of there. I know I was a coward. The only thing I could think about is Ava's safety. In my mind, I still can't understand how someone could hate their baby sister. Ava has been nothing but a sweet little girl. All she ever wants is love and affection. Now that she's finally here with me, I can give her that. I can't imagine what she went through. My duty for now is to help her. I won't mess up with that. For now, while I help Ava, I need to upgrade on my training sessions." Rosie wrote down and felt her eyes slowly flutter shut.
Aaron noticed Rosie had fallen asleep on the couch and he went to her. Aaron picked her up carefully and carried her back upstairs. He made sure to not make a noise so he doesn't wake up anyone up.
He did noticed that Rosie's bed was occupied. Aaron frowned, he didn't know where to put Rosie down. After debating for a minute, Aaron carried her to his room and set her down on his bed.
"You're going to be so confused in the morning." Aaron admitted and left his room after getting a spare blanket and pillow.
"Where are we going?" Ava asked Rosie while she sat on her lap.
Rosie was putting Ava's hair in a ponytail and she carefully tied a ribbon bow around the ponytail. "We're going to visit Uncle Rex and Aunt Circe. They have two kids that want to play with you. I think it will be good for you to interact with other kids." Rosie smiled.
Ava stayed quiet and hopped off Rosie's lap when her hair was finally done.
"Awe. You look so cute." Rosie gushed. Ava was wearing a white sundress with light blue floral designs. She was wearing some white sandals and Ava cutely said, "Thank you."
"Rosie, are you two ready?" Rebecca asked and entered the room.
Rosie picked up Ava and said, "We're ready! She fits some of my old clothes."
Rebecca and Rosie spend some time in the morning at the attic. They were finding some of Rosie's old clothes from the boxes for Ava to wear. It would only be temporary until they go to the store to buy Ava some new clothes.
"That's great. We need to go buy some clothes for her though." Rebecca said.
"We'll go this weekend." Rosie said and adjust Ava in her arms while they walked downstairs.
Ava looked at Rosie and whispered, "Why are we going?"
Rosie smiled and set Ava in her car seat, she strapped her in. "Its to help you sweetie. Trust me on this, okay?" Rosie said and pat her head.
Ava stayed silent and she slowly stare out the window when the car door closed.
"Kids! Come to the living room and meet Ava!" Rex called out and the kids hurried in the living room. Circe had to make the kids keep their distance and said, "Now kids, remember what we talked about. Go easy on Ava."
"Okay mom." Rafael said and Violeta looked excited when she spotted Ava in Rosie's arms.
Ava noticed the kids heading towards her and she immediately coward further in Rosie's arms. Rosie gently set Rosie on the ground and kneel down. She calmly said, "Don't worry sweetie, they won't hurt you. I think they just want to play with you."
"Yeah! We can play dollies or tag or hide and seek! Do you want to play now?" Violeta perked up and Rafael had to pull her away. Ava hurried behind Rosie's legs and peeked out slightly. Rosie looked at her parents and was confused to what should she do.
"Ava, we'll be in the living room if you need us. We just want to talk to Rosie about something important." Rebecca told Ava and nudge her softly to go with the kids.
Ava didn't make a sound, she stared at the kids until Rafael held out his hand. "Come on. We'll show you to our rooms." Rafael smiled when Ava slowly grabbed his hand. Violeta hurried upstairs while Rafael followed closely behind and held Ava's held.
"How cute." Rose quietly gushed.
Aaron motioned for Rosie to focus as the adults were starting to discuss about something important.
"So Rex and a few other agents went to check on the Abysus yesterday. They couldn't find Van Kleiss or Zane or Breach. Right now a few agents are searching in the secret bases that we found in Zane's computer." Aaron exclaimed.
Rosie tensed up when all eyes were on her, she whispered, "Um...I didn't hear or know much while I was at the base if that's what you're wondering."
"Did Zane mention anything or have you hear anything when walking by them?" Rebecca calmly said.
"Well, has Lucas told you anything yet? I'm sure Providence is interrogating him." Rosie admitted.
Rex crossed his arms and mumbled, "The kid hasn't talked to anyone. Even the toughest agents couldn't get any information from him."
Rosie raised an eyebrow, she was confused because when Lucas was with her, he would answer any question she had. Maybe she should recommend that she go talk to him. Something was still at the back of her mind and Rosie looked conflicted, "I will say this. Lucas mention that Zane is probably mentally insane."
"How is that anything new?" Aaron remarked until Rosie continued, "Lucas told me about Zane's past, if Van Kleiss has him then we need to get him back right away."
"Quewha? Rosie, he's the enemy." Rex frowned.
Rosie sigh and whispered, "I know that. What Zane did to Ava doesn't justified for what happened in his past. Lucas told me that Van Kleiss killed their mother and the incident changed Zane for good. He was the reason why Van Kleiss was in a coma for years. It just sickens me that Zane would harm Ava, she didn't do anything wrong...but if he's with Van Kleiss, who knows if he'll manipulate him for his future plans?"
"Rosie, we'll do everything we can to find them but you need to focus on school. You're still too young to be worrying about this. Let us handle it." Rebecca gently said and everyone seem surprise when Rosie replied, "Okay."
Normally Rosie would protest in an attempt to get more involve with anything related to Providence. However, Rosie didn't put up a fight and that could indicate that something is probably bothering her. Before anyone could ask anything, Ava walked over to Rosie and tug on her sleeve.
Rosie turned her attention towards Ava and began to smiled. All the worries in her head went away and she whispered, "Hi sweetie, what do you have there?"
Ava handed Rosie the paper that was in her hands and immediately crawled on her lap. Rafael and Violeta hurried to their parents with a few sheets of paper in their hands as well. Violeta excitedly said, "Mommy! Daddy! Raffy, Ava, and I did some drawings!"
"You did? That's great kids." Circe smiled and looked at the drawings.
Rosie held Ava on her lap and looked at the drawing that Ava made. She smiled when the drawing was poorly drawn but Rosie could make out what it was suppose to be. Ava had draw herself and Rosie outside with a smiling sun and some weird markings that were made to look like they were holding hands.
"Its beautiful Ava, this is worthy of being placed on the refrigerator when we get home." Rosie happily exclaimed and kissed her forehead. Ava seem delighted that she gotten praise from Rosie but only smile faintly.
"Hey kids! Who wants to play tag!" Rex said and his kids immediately replied, "ME!"
Ava didn't join the ruckus and cuddled close to Rosie. The little girl still wasn't comfortable with acting like a regular kid just yet. Rosie hope that with a little bit more time and effort then Ava will fully move on from her past life.
"And Sally and I did not know what to say. Should we tell her the things that went on there that day? Should we tell her about it? Now, what should we do? Well, what would you do if your mother asked you? The end." Rosie smiled and closed the Cat in the Hat book.
Ava was laying in bed with Gizmo right beside her. For the time being, Ava would be staying in Rosie's room while Rosie stays in the guest room. Gizmo curled up beside Ava and was sound asleep. Ava watched Rosie put the book back in her book shelf.
"What other books do you have there?" Ava whispered as she was amazed with all the books that Rosie had. Rosie chuckled quietly and pointed to the bottom shelf of the book shelf, "The bottom two row is some children books. You're able to read these books once we continue with our lessons. The middle shelves are my collections of books throughout the years. Some of them contain the series of books and the top shelves is for my favorite books. Maybe when you're a little older, I'll let you read them someday."
Rosie went to Ava and kissed her forehead to tuck her in, "Now...I'll be going to school tomorrow. You're going to stay with my parents until I get back...I promise to come back at 2:30.
Not wanting to make Rosie worry even more, Ava smiled slightly as she whispered, "Don't worry Rosie. I'll be okay."
"That's my girl. Good night sweetie." Rosie softly said and went to turn on the nightlight then turned off the lights in her room. She watched Ava slowly closed her eyes and she quietly shut the door. Without making a noise, Rosie went to the guest room and closed the door shut.
She sat against the door and hugged her knees. Rosie placed her face on the top of her knees and tried her best to calm down. Deep down inside, Rosie was scared that something bad might happen. Breach was able to get to her before and she might come back again.
'Don't stress yourself out, this is what they want...Ava is safe now. My parents won't let anything happen to her while she's with them...calm down...please calm down...' Rosie thought and started to take some deep breathes.
Chapter 18 is finally done. Sorry it took me a while to get it done. I think the chapters might take a little while for me to update them. Don't worry! I won't give up on this story! I will continue this until I feel like its officially done which might take a long time for it to happen :)
Thank you for your last review YellowAngela:) Everything will be calm for the time being, rest assure that there will be more interactions with Ava and Rosie! ^-^ But Rosie will have to let her go one day, we'll see how that turns out.
I hope to update the next chapter somewhere in the first week of June. But right now I want to try and post chapter 4 of Childhood Memories :) So be on a lookout, until next time! Have a great day everyone! :)
