I don't own digimon.
Session 27
Pit Stop
To the members of Delta, Hunter's End was unlike any place they had ever seen before.
At first glance, it was a place trapped in a different era of time. The whole area had a rough unfinished look to it, extending down to the decorations. A fountain had been erected for some group of people that had fallen here recently. No one was quite sure who these people were or what they did exactly to deserve a fountain. Five statues surrounded it, displaying these brave warriors in their nonexistent glory.
"Hmm." Alice thought as she took in one of the statues. Compared to the other four, this particular one had a pair of pistols instead of the usual blade. Very carefully, she pried a revolver away and compared it to one of her guns. While she wasn't entirely certain what sort of gun she had on her or what these particular pistols were. But, they chamber the same rounds as her old guns, so it might be some weird roundabout upgrade in someone's eyes.
Once she was certain that no was looking, she switched her guns out.
*Really?* Suiko remarked and let out a sigh. *I thought you were on the path of good...*
"I am." Alice thought and shrugged. "I just needed an upgrade in firepower."
While she couldn't quite see it herself, she suspected Suiko was doing a facepalm of some sort. But at the moment, her attention was currently fixating on the large group at the far end of this unknown area. Jestery stood at the front, holding a microphone of sorts.
"May Jestery have your attention please?"
Everyone's gazes focused in on her.
"Jestery have big announcement to make."
Silence fell over them, awaiting whatever it could possibly be. The members of Delta on the other hand, chose instead to air on the side of caution and pulled their weapons out.
"Jestery owns all of you now."
Right after she said that, the once calm peace of the area quickly turned to confusion and dread. No one really knew how the jester did it or, how exactly that even worked, but it seemed that more than a couple people were ready to turn on her.
"As your queen, Jestery orders you to stand down!" Jestery announced. "You do not want to deal with me when I'm serious."
But she got no response. So she let out a sharp whistle, which somehow made everything go dark. From the silence heard within, one could wonder what their new ruler had in mind for her rule. But they didn't have to wait long in order to find out.
When the lights finally did turn back on, the group that had gathered seemed slightly smaller than before.
"Jestery told you so!" the jester announced and let out a laugh. "At the very least, Jestery now have enough actors to work on new project."
New project? No one told me about this.
"Boo hoo."
Before Jestery could give an expanded statement, arrows began to rain down upon the guests as a good chunk of people were taken back to their respective places.
"Jestery didn't say that you could leave yet!"
Of course, no one was really listening to Jestery at this point.
"Oh please," a voice remarked and everyone's attention shifted away from the jester and to their unexpected guest.
At first glance, they looked like an angemon. You know, those overpowered angelic digimon that digivolve from pigs for some reason. But on closer inspection, there were a few key differences. For one, this particular had blonde hair instead of the usual bright orange. Secondly, his staff had a built-in bow for some reason. Why exactly he need such a thing is beyond me.
Celestial Shower!
A waterfall of arrows fired down upon the crowd, resulting in even more panic. Even when it seemed that everyone was already freaked out enough by Jestery's announcement.
Alice quickly made her way over, making sure she did not take an arrow to the face or the knee. Yet as she approached, a sharp pain formed in her head. At first, it was the mild annoying sort. You know, the kind one could get by poking themselves light with something sharp. Then came the much worse stabbing pain, you know from possibly getting stabbed. The pain only intensified even more, forcing her to the ground. Her eyelids grew heavier as her vision began to twist and distort. Within all of that, she saw not the stage or the arrows, but a lab of some sort. Within said lab, there were all sorts of large tubes with young girls within them. It seemed to call out to her, mocking her about a variety
When her eyes opened back up, she found herself on Elena's back. Cutemon and Lily were currently making an attempt at taking on this unknown opponent, shouting something that the rest of the group couldn't quite make out. If they had to take a guess, it was something along the lines of 'Blade something something something'.
"Lies!" the angel announced. "That, and my name is Talos!" their opponent announced. "Is it really that hard to say?"
"No." Lily answered and notched another arrow back, only to be knocked out of the way by Cutemon. Slightly pissed by this interruption, she moved her target to the rabbit, who wasn't at all amused by this.
"This is my battle." he announced and let forth a glow of some sort, resulting in pain of some sort coursing through the plush's body.
Incense Burn!
Lilly then dropped a lit incense tick into her tray, watching the grey smoke filled the area around the trio. But instead of the calming sensation that she had been expecting, a torrent of pain and memories washed over her and the other targets.
It seemed to move at a rapid pace, showing a duo cross a world on the brink of disaster. A variety of places appeared, ranging from a high rise to a church. But at the end of it all, was a flickering fire.
The succubus took a deep breath and attempted to place the last part, but came up empty. She made a quick search of her bag, only to get a similar result.
"Crap." Lily whispered as her attention focused in on Cutemon and Talos.
Cutemon still looked pissed, possibly even more so than before. Though, he was now babbling about buildings burning down and finding who did it. Talos, on the other hand, was a far different story.
It would seem that the angel had entered a hibernation-like state and making sounds that one expects to hear from a person in distress.
"I'm sorry, Lily."
For a few brief seconds, Lily debated whether or not to give her possible opponent a hug. For now though, she went against her heart and fired an arrow
"So that is how you're going to repay me then?"
More arrows seemed ready to rain down upon the few still gathered there. Yet...
Memory Spirits!
Spiritflare!
With little in the way of verbal communication, Alice and Elena managed to combine their attacks and turn their opponent's attention to them.
Stomp!
Talos began jumping up and down, somehow creating holes within the floor.
"Goodbye, people!" Talos announced and slipped on through one, with Cutemon and Lily. Which in turn, got Elena and Aaron chasing after them. Who were being chased by Alice and Polly, while Joey and the other digimon taking up the rear.
Outside, they found themselves falling through the sky. While it was possible that this was last thing that most of them were going to see, they had made their choice. Everything then went dark as the ground seemed ready to collide with them.
Aqua Torrent!
Or would have, if not for a large body of water appearing below them.
"Thanks Aegiochusmon." Polly remarked and ported over. The others either landed in the water itself or gracefully glided down. "Ugh..."
Outside of the water, her gaze caught a sign. She focused in on it, only to do a double take.
A school campus stretched out in front of them, surrounded by a chain fence. A cardboard sign had been hung almost in solace, as if to serve as a reminder.
