I don't own digimon.
Session 28
Drogaciji Vu
Out of all the places Delta could've ended up, they had managed to luck out and end up here.
Sure, Mahora hadn't gotten much better since it had any residents within it, especially with the red sky and the endless crackle of thunder. At the very least, the fence could at least be acknowledged in some fashion.
Like many things within this eternal madhouse, it came in many forms. From the classic polymorph self to turning sticks to snakes, one could easily learn it at Mahora.
In the past, the school was a prestigious place for all wizards to hone their craft and complete their studies. Recently, Mahora has become a shadow of it's former self and now sits abandoned.
Personally, I would've preferred them to just leave this place. But it's not my call.
"Is everyone alright?" Elena called out and took in the nods that she got. While that accounted for everyone, there was still some doubts. While she had no clue what injuries were taken during their earlier battle, it was probably best that they at least set up camp and slept the possible night away.
And while no one had really named her boss in that moment, they were all tired and didn't really care in that moment. Of course, life had other plans for them at the moment.
Celestial Shower!
Right as they were about to get their sleeping bags out and maybe crash for the night, it would seem that Talos had other ideas.
Joey infusion digivolve too... ShadowAngemon!
Aaron infusion digivolve too... Elricmon!
While the two boys were doing that, Elena made a quick glance towards Alice. Currently, she was reloading her pistols while Suiko watched on.
"You think you could hang on, even if I'm up in the air?" Elena inquired and caught the gambler by surprise. "If not, I'm willing to stay on solid ground."
Alice shook her head.
"I'll be alright." she answered back and carefully shifted her body into a better position. Pain surged through her body, but she fought through it. "Is this better?"
Elena gave a nod and ascended up into the air, making sure to not dump her passenger in the process. Compared to her past couple flights, there was something nice about this one. Her heart seemed to beat slightly faster and she made a glance towards Alice. She had expected to find a look of disapproval or perhaps just boredom. Instead, it looked as if the gambler was ready to embrace her in some passionate display. But not quite yet.
While that was happening, Aegiochusmon pulled Polly in for a kiss.
"Sis mea pars!"
Energy surged through the monk's body and began to shift her body into Aquiosmon. But something felt different this time. Maybe it was the location, or just the general mood of the place. Whatever it was exactly, didn't seem to like the duo.
Polly infusion digivolve too... Polly?
Scanning...
Polly
Unknown, Error
Special Moves: Error
.
Polly: Uh...
Aegiochusmon: Crap.
Scan complete.
"Is something wrong?" Cutemon remarked as he made his way over to the pair. "I can't promise I'll find something wrong, but it could be a start."
"Go on ahead." Polly mumbled back, watching the rabbit make his way over. She took a deep breath and attempted to push her thoughts to other things. But try as she might, one thing seemed to stick. "Make it stop! Make it stop! Make it stop!"
Her body began to flail about, her arms moving with little care for the rabbit attempting to examine her.
"Uh..." Aegiochusmon whispered and cautiously made his way over. Yet, his hands seemed to be in sort of weird position, as if he was charging something up just in case. "There should be a shack nearby. You can rest there."
His teammates gave him a questionable glance, but did not move.
"Still as annoying and useless as ever." 'Polly' announced and ported away, leaving the rest of the group to their own devices. But before they make sense of what just happened, Talos made his entrance.
"Figures." Talos announced and slowly clapped his hands, catching a death glare from Lily in the process. "You've lost your touch, old man."
Aegiochusmon walked over to him, taking a deep breath.
"Old man?"
Terra Archens (Blazing Earth)!
Magma shot forth from Aegiochusmon's hands, quickly making its way towards Talos. But, the angel batted it away and laughed.
"Is that all you got?"
Spiritflare!
Alice steadied her guns, firing off a single shot.
*A little heads-up would be nice!* Suiko announced as the bullet made its way towards Talos, with him receiving a shotgun blast as a gift in return.
"I'll remember next time." Alice whispered. "But I can't make promises though."
She got a sigh for that remark, but didn't seem to really care in that moment.
Incense Burn!
Dark grey smoke filled the air, reminding the fighters of the events leading up to this moment. For some reason, this also had the added effect of improving their movement speed. But it reverted Aaron and Joe back for some reason.
"Boo!" the two boys announced
"Come back here!" Talos screeched, searching for his opponents within the smoke. "Mark my words, I will find you."
After saying that, he took a deep breath and knelt down.
"At the very least, they could give me a proper fight..."
.
The walk to the cabin passed quite quickly for the group. Sure, everyone was tired and just about ready to be done with today, but they still had some energy left. Eventually, a battered log cabin came into view. It was nestled within some light forest, seeming out of place. It was not helped by the frozen trees
"Phew." Aegiochusmon whispered and began to look all about. But try as he might, there were no signs of Polly. "Stupid whore."
The harem mage took a deep breath and pulled a pocketwatch out of his kneepads, flipping the lid open. Inside was the mechanism that powered the device, which still had some life in it after all these years. "Silly Akira."
He shook his head and made his way over to the cabin itself, carefully pushing the door open. Inside, they were welcomed by faded oak and what looked to be a gray carpet. No, scratch that. it would appear that the color of the carpet was some sort of cream color. On the right, one could make out a kitchen. Opposite of that was a bedroom with what appeared to be a pile of broken wood and cloth off in the back corner.
From top to bottom, a layer of thick dust laid in silence. It waited for someone to disturb it, almost taunting them to some extent.
Aqua Torrent.
While not as loud, the effect was still the same. Water quickly filled the two rooms, forcing those inside to exit. Once out, the water followed and dissipated into the air. If they were lucky, they might get some rain. Maybe even snow.
But that was one of many things that sat at the bottom of their heads at the moment. Once they were all certain the place had dried out enough, then came the next challenge: Divvying up sleeping bags.
Between the seven of them, there were only four sleeping bags. Which also meant deciding who was sleeping with who.
"Would you mind sleeping with me?" Alice remarked as her gaze focused in on Elena.
"I would be fine with that." the corsair answered, watching her friend switch forms. "Oh my."
The two made their way towards the far corner of the room, the two curled up in a bit of an embrace. Of course, their partners did notice though.
"Aww..." Adarnamon remarked and caught a cautious glance from Lily. "Something wrong?"
The succubus let out a snarl, only to grab Tsukaimon from Joey.
"Hey!" the purple pig announced, only for Lily to laugh.
"You can share." she answered and slid into one of the sleeping bags.
In return though, the shadow scientist took Adarnamon and went to bed.
"I'll just stand." Gentleman remarked and stood over his master, watching Aaron and Cutemon slip into their bed.
"We can stand as well if you want." Gobblemon announced, getting a head shake from the harem mage.
"No, you two take the last sleeping bag." Aegiochusmon answered. "I have something I need to do."
With that, he walked out.
Notes:
Originally, the plan was to have Delta take on a horde of magical girls. But that plan never did seem to come to fruition. Instead, we have camping, because chosen need sleep too.
.
Next Time: A new day, with new opportunities. I wonder what awaits our heroes?
