Session 29

Difficult Things

Dawn slowly broke upon the cabin, bringing with it the usual silence of sleep.

Alice was the first to wake up, finding herself still cuddled up with Elena. She took a deep breath and pushed herself back into her 'girlfriend's' feathers, getting into a comfortable position. For an avian creature, Elena's fathers were quite warm and one might add, cozy. Sort of like a pillow.

*Aren't some pillows made with chicken feathers?* Suiko whispered and appeared in front of the partially submerged Alice. "So are you two going to date?"

The question caught the gambler off-guard and she just laid there. Sure, she had some semblance of feeling for the gale corsair, but was it more than that? The past couple days had brought an absolute mess of emotions and dumb stuff to the forefront.

"Ugh!" the gambler thought and pulled at the fur on her head. Try as she might, thoughts of Elena just wouldn't leave her head. "Why can't I get you out of my head?"

but before she could get a chance to really ponder her feelings for Elena, she felt someone grab at her tail. So, she switched back to her human and carefully got herself out of Elena, finding Lily currently climbing her way up.

"Good morning, Lily." the gambler greeted and pulled the plush succubus out of her hair. It also brought the new sensation of her legs, which were now working for the moment.

"Let go of me, you monster!"

Alice rolled her eyes, but ignored the order. She cautiously placed a hand on her pistols.

"At the very least, you could tell me why you were up in my hair." Alice answered as a sharp pain pierced through her body, forcing her to drop Lily.

"Why should I!"

Lily then cocked an arrow back and let go of the bowstring, watching the arrow miss her target and land right into Elena's thigh. Thankfully, the hawk didn't seem to notice yet. It did, wake up Joey though.

"What now?" he announced and made his way over to the commotion, only to let out a sigh. "Oh it's just you."

Both Alice and Lily gave him a questionable look and rolled their eyes.

"What? I'm eligible too!"

While he couldn't see it, Tsukaimon burst into a fit of giggles.

"You're not that interesting."

Joey just stood there, muttering what appeared to be death threats under his breath.

"I already have a girlfriend anyhow." Alice countered

If Alice had realized what she had said originally, she probably wouldn't have said that.

"Who then?" Joey inquired and pulled his staff out. He pointed it towards the trio, seeming quite pissed now.

"Elena."

A million different things began to race through the gambler's mind, among them being asking Elena about it being alright. Yet, she suspected the gale corsair already knew.

"Go back to sleep, Joey." Gentleman remarked and grabbed hold of his master, dragging him back into his sleeping bag. With that, the two girls returned their attention back to each other.

"What exactly do you want?" Alice whispered and moved her hands away from her guns.

"Elena is mine!" Lily screamed and swung her yumi towards the gambler, only to swipe up at the air. Alice responded by switching forms and swiping at her. Somehow, this proved to be more effective. "I will not let you have her!"

Alice rolled her eyes.

The gambler personally preferred to not to deal with these sorts of people. Especially when it came to relationships.

"Where exactly have you marked her?" she countered and attempted to feign a kiss on Elena's cheek, only for the corsair to shift her head. "She's mine now."

"You little..."

This really set Lily off, who decided now was a wonderful time to give up on using words and use her mouth instead. Her first move came in the form of a bite, not even managing to pierce through the gambler's fur. Alice is responded with more scratching, letting the full wrath of her other body parts to lie in wait for the moment.

"Why won't you just give up!"

Before she had a chance to react, Lily flung her into Astamon.

"Good morning, Miss Alice, Suiko." the jackal greeted, letting out a deep breath afterward. "It would seem that you're having some trouble with this ruffian. Are you in need of any assistance."

"No."

*Yes.*

Astamon rolled his eyes. He had hoped that his two masters would at least be able to agree on something. But today is not that day. At the very least, he shakes Gobblemon slightly.

"Wakey, wakey bird."

Gobblemon slowly rouses himself awake, letting his attention turn towards Astamon.

"Has anyone ever told you were beautiful?" Gobblemon greeted and got a punch in the face for that remark.

"Not you." Astamon remarked, letting out a sigh. "I'll consider it."

He ignored Gobblemon's attempt at a fist pump, choosing instead to pick Lily up.

"Let me make one thing fundamentally clear." Astamon started and pulled the succubus in."If you touch a hair on either of my masters, I will bury you into the depths of hell itself."

This was more than enough to freak Lily out, so she bit down and made her way over to Tsukaimon.

"Protect me, you stupid pig!"

Tsukaimon had been attempting to sleep, but it would seem that he would not quite get any more for the moment.

"Is there tea involved?" the pig inquired.

"Why... Of course." Lily exclaimed and grabbed hold of Tsukaimon, flinging him towards Alice. But her aim was off and she managed to hit Cutemon. "Oh crap."

At first, everything seemed alright. Cutemon seemed to still be asleep and was cuddling up nicely with Aaron. But when Tsukaimon collided with the pink rabbit, it brought with it a variety of feelings and memories.

"Hey Cutemon, it was acciden-"

Before Lily had a chance to even finish her sentence, Tsuakimon collided with her.

"That was for my village, slut!"

Lily pulled Tsukaimon away and went over to a still sleeping Adarnamon, picking her up in the process. What she did next was an absolutely stupid idea. She slammed the champion digimon against the ground, almost losing a hand in the process. But it did wake the rest of the group up.

"Good morning, honey." Elena greeted and went for the kiss, only to realize what form she was in at the last moment. "Sorry about that~"

Alice let out an awkward laugh as the gale corsair switched to her human form.

"It's alright." she answered and let her gaze hover on Elena. Maybe, there was a spark. And that was all it took.

But for the moment, there were bigger fish for the group to fry. They still needed to find Polly and Aegiochusmon, after all.

Notes:

This is nothing like the original chapter and I'm fine with that. Especially since I get an excuse to actually do most of the main cast. Also, it serves as a way to advance a couple subplots that weren't quite there yet in the original.

(Spoiler Alert 'kinda') To answer why Joey doesn't get the girl, he hasn't done anything in either Alice and/or Elena's eyes to really differentiate himself. Sure, he has darkness powers and stuff, but do you think either of them care about that? In the case of Alice and Elena, there is something there - a connection in other words. Same with Polly and Aegiochusmon. Heck, they have even more of a reason to get together.

As for our chosen of darkness, the odds of him getting the girl are about the same of the 02 Destined appearing at the end of Tri... doing the chicken dance. On the moon. All while Omnimon Mercy Mode does the digimon equivalent of the robot.
