Without further ado, let the chapter begin!

"So White Knight wants us to do what?" Rosie curiously said.

Aaron looked through a dozen files that were set on the table. He scattered them in a specific order and said, "So it turns out there was more people that were experimented on. Michael refuses to give any names but his former employees did confess about some things."

"Like what?" Rosie asked and set a plate of cookies beside him.

Aaron picked up a large stack of papers, he flipped through a few pages.

"Some of these former employees wants to remain anonymous just in case Michael might go after their families for breaking the silence. This is all the information we need. Starting with when he started with his first test subjects. We got a few reports on where he got the nanites from. Including all the reports and information about who were the victims. It turns out Michael would get the victims from different places around the world. Some of them were either runaways, homeless, or alone. That's why he wasn't caught until now." Aaron explained.

Rosie sat down beside him and looked at the files. She noticed some of the files were about a few children. This caught her attention and said, "How many children are we going to be taking care of?"

"So far, its ten children we found with nanites abilities. That's how much Providence could find right now. Eventually we'll find more minors. The adults that are similar to Harmony's case, we can handle with them. Knight wants us to focus on the children." Aaron admitted.

Rosie smiled, "Well, I love kids so this is a win win case. But what's going to happen when I go to college?"

Aaron replied, "Well, we'll only work with the kids temporarily. Once White Knight finds some employees he can trust then he wants us to teach them how to handle the kids. So basically we're going to be their caretakers and figure out how to take care of them."

Rosie felt excited to be working with the kids and started to look at the information given to them about the kids. The youngest of the children is five months old, the oldest is twelve years old.

While the young couple were discussing about what they need to do, Rosie stared at a photo of one of the kids. It was a young boy with a vacant look on his emotionless face. He looked like he's been through stuff.

"That's Blake. He's classified as one of the dangerous types, he has no parent or legal guardians." Aaron said when he noticed Rosie at the pictures.

Rosie looked at a few more pictures of the kids they'll be working with. Half of the kids were labeled dangerous in the files. This wasn't going to be an easy job for them, but they will find a way to make it work. Rosie figures that if her parents were able to take care and train Rex just fine many years, she can try like they did.

How bad could it be?

"What do you mean you're withdrawing from the anime, LGBT, and the art clubs?" Farron asked in shock.

Rosie and Farron were hanging out at the school's courtyard for lunch and were talking about stuff. Rosie started to tell Farron about the new changes and her new job. Since Rosie's going to commit her time to monitoring and caring for the kids, she needs to quit the clubs she participates at school.

Clearly Farron disagrees with the sudden changes in Rosie.

"Its only temporary Farron. White Knight just needs to find some trustworthy people to take care of the kids in my place." Rosie promised until he grimaced.

Farron sigh and crossed his arms, "You know Knight doesn't trust much people. Especially when this involves children. Those kids need someone to keep them safe and doesn't try to take advantage of them...but the fact that he asks you and Aaron to help out, then that must mean a lot."

Rosie smiled and ate her lunch as she nodded her head in agreement.

They sat in silence while they enjoyed their lunches. However, they heard Suzie and her little group of friends laughing and talking about them.

Rosie rolled her eyes and finished her lunch.

"Just ignore them. They're not worth it." Farron whispered until Rosie quietly admitted, "Don't worry. I'm used to this."

Farron stared at Rosie and felt upset, "You've been bullied before?"

Rosie nodded and threw away her trash. She whispered, "I've been bullied since elementary school. Its nothing new. I guessed after all these years, I got used to it. But...please don't tell anyone about this. Especially my parents and Aaron."

"Come on Rosie, this is seri-" Farron tried to say until Rosie interrupted him, "Farron, I mean it. You gotta promise me. Don't tell anyone what I just told you. Okay?"

"...Okay." Farron sigh but pat Rosie's head to try and comfort her.

Rosie whispered, "Thank you."

Farron glared at Suzie and her group of friends before he and Rosie started to walk away from the courtyard. It pains Farron that Rosie always took the abuse from Suzie without telling anyone what's going on. He hopes that things will get better for her. But he will have to talk to Six and Rebecca about what's going on.

"Is it normal for me to be nervous about this new assignment?" Rosie asked Calan as she held a box full of binders, files, and a few journals.

"It's natural for anyone to be nervous for their first day on the job." Calan admitted.

Rosie smiled, "Thanks for helping me out with the kids. How did Aaron do with them for the first half of the day?"

Before Calan could answer her, they opened the doors to the secure facility room. They were stunned to see the kids running around and causing chaos in the room. The only ones not being involved with the chaos is a child and a baby.

The young boy was sitting at the corner watching the madness going on. Right beside him, was a baby girl was laying on her stomach beside him. She kept giggling when Aaron was frantically trying to keep order around the room.

Rosie looked at Aaron as he was trying to pull something from under the table. There was nothing in his hands but Aaron seem like he was struggling to grab something.

"What's going on?" Rosie whispered and Aaron yelled, "HELP!"

Rosie handed Calan the box and hurried inside the room. She whistle loudly and started to clap her hands. "Alright kids, that's enough!" Rosie exclaimed.

Aidan spotted Rosie and his eyes lit up, he carefully climbed down from the table and toddled to her. He hugged her leg tightly and squealed, "Roro!"

Rosie smiled at him and pat his head, half of the children spotted them and followed Aidan. They sat down in front of Rosie and smiled innocently.

"You continued to surprise me Rosie." Calan chuckled while Aaron looked defeated. Rosie giggled softly and called out for the rest of the children as she approached the boy. She picked up the baby girl and smiled at the boy.

"Your name's Blake, right?" Rosie asked.

Blake didn't replied, he gave a cold stare before he got up and walked past her. Rosie looked puzzled, how could a child have a look like that? Well, she thinks that her father might have been like that when he was younger. But what does she know? Six never talks much about his past.

The kids started to smile except for Blake, Rosie didn't think anything bad would happen as she started to smile too.

"Are you sure we should have let Rosie work with the kids?" Rebecca asked as she was looking at some nanites samples from the kids.

Six leaned against the wall as he remarked, "Rosie has experience with children. It's not like she doesn't know what's she doing."

Rebecca sigh, "I know but this is ten kids she needs to look after. Its different this time, Rosie might get overwhelmed with all the responsibilities she's given. Do I need to remind you that these kids have powers like Rafael and Violeta."

Rex entered in as he was drinking a smoothie, "I just went passed the day care, Aaron and Rosie are really working their hardest."

"They are? How are they doing so far with the kids?" Rebecca asked causing Rex to make a face. He knew there was no point in lying to them. Rex showed Rebecca a few pictures he took while watching Aaron and Rosie with the kids.

The first picture showed Aaron holding Aidan away from the kids. The toddler was burping fireballs from his mouth while Rosie looked like she was ducking from the fireballs from hitting her.

In the second picture, Rosie was holding onto one of the girl's legs. Who appears to be around 9-10 years old and had a pair of wings appearing behind her. The girl looked like she was having a fun time while Rosie seems to be a nervous wreck.

The third picture revealed a boy that looks to be eight years old. He had a toothy grinned on his face as he proudly showed a huge dent on the steel doors. In the background, Rosie was screaming when a small army of spiders came out from the air vents.

The last picture showed Blake looking at the camera with an unamused face. There was more chaos going on at the background but the boy was sitting in his usual corner. Clearly not wanting to get involved with the madness.

Rebecca became more concerned and asked, "Rex, how long ago were these pictures taken?"

"About...two hourish?" Rex said while trying to remember.

Rebecca and Six immediately knew what they had to do, they made their way to the door. Rex started to follow them and remarked, "Come on! Rosie can handle this! Its not like anything bad will happen-"

"Not helping Rex." Both parents said and hurried to the large room.

They were surprised when the kids were sitting in front of a projector watching a movie. They were sitting on some bean bag chairs and looked content with whatever they were watching.

Aaron approached the kids with a tray full of small bags of popcorn with juice boxes. Rosie was sitting across the room with one of the kids sitting in front of her. Calan was beside Rosie, he was writing some notes for her on a data pad.

Rosie looked at the door and smiled, "Hi mom, dad, and Uncle Rex."

"What's going on here? Last time I came here, there was an apocalypse." Rex pointed out.

"Oh there was. Luckily Aaron and I got the kids to calm down by promising them a movie. This helps me interview each kids while the others are calm." Rosie admitted.

Calan added, "So far, we have talked to 7 kids about what they know about their powers. We just need 3 more."

Rosie looked at the list on the table, she scribbled down a few notes and sigh.

"We have Aidan, Blake, Carlos, Debbie, Edgar, Franklin, Gracie marked down as completed. All we need is Harper, Inca, and Janet. Harper might be an issue to figure out what to help her with since she's a baby. So mom, we need to get working on how to help her later in the week." Rosie mentioned.

Rex started to snicker and said, "Wait, so are all the kids marked in the list by the letters of the alphabet?"

"Hey, its easier to remember the information about them if we put them in ABC order. It was just a weird coincidence that happened." Aaron mumbled as he set the tray down.

Rosie giggled and looked at Gracie.

"Okay Gracie, you're done with the testing. We'll figure out how to work on how to control your super senses soon." Rosie promised.

Gracie beamed happily, "Thank you Ms. Rosie!"

Gracie hurried to the group of kids and sat down on one of the empty bean bag chairs. Aaron went to retrieved the baby and softly said, "Hey sweetheart. You ready to be tested on?"

The baby babbled and waved her little arms around. She started grabbing Aaron's hair and started tugging on it.

"Alright Calan, can you please help Aaron with the kids while I take Harper to the lab with my mom? This might take a while since she's a little baby." Rosie admitted and took Harper from Aaron.

Rosie motioned for her parents to follow her. Rex was sitting down beside the kids and started to watch the movie with them. Aaron motioned for Inca to come to the table as he started to ask some questions.

"Were you two really that worried about me?" Rosie guessed and adjust Harper in her arms when the baby tried to grab her hair.

"Rex showed us some pictures that made it seem like you and Aaron didn't have anything under control." Six said.

Rosie shook her head but smiled. She pointed out, "Well this is the first day of taking care of the kids. There will be a few hiccups here and there. Just give me a few weeks with the kids and they'll be ready when we find a replacement for me."

"Make sure to tell us when you get overwhelmed, we don't want you to get stressed with so many things at once. Senior year can get stressful, especially when you need to get your requirements done before graduation day." Rebecca sternly said.

"Don't worry mom. I'm taking the last few elective classes for my requirements for graduation. I passed my biology, algebra 1 classes and test at freshmen year. My volunteer hours are already done too but White Knight is going to make sure this will count for more of my volunteer hours and will give me good recommendations for my college and my future jobs. The only things I need to focus is keeping my grades up and try to get a better score on my ACT and SAT." Rosie said as she went on and on about the endless things she needs to do.

Both parents were convinced that this might be too much for her. However, they will step back and let her do whatever she felt like she needed to do. They will step in when Rosie needs their help.

That's it for Chapter 39. Sorry for the delay. Homework kept piling up on me again and I'm still not sure how that keeps on happening. I keep finishing the work days before the due dates but things still keep coming up. Oh well, what can I do? We're introduced to a small group of kids that have nanite powers. I'll explain each of them later in the story. Maybe it will be chapter 40-43.

Thank you for the last review YellowAngela. Don't worry about it, I was wondering how did the first weeks of school go for you? I can understand the feeling of life beating us to a pulp lol. And I'm glad you like Rafael and Violeta, I just like them so much and I can't picture Rex not naming his kids after his parents. The only difference I made is that Rafael is the oldest like Violeta is the youngest. As for Zane, he's still trying to figure out his own thing. He's neutral right now, he's not doing things because its the right or bad thing to do. Also, you're not wrong about the last statement, Rosie is technically running a day care right now XD

I'll try my best to write the chapter soon. Until then, stay safe out there and have a great evening :)
