It's spooky season! The festive times are upon us so buckle up kids, it's gonna be a wild ride. This one is just a fun little take on yet another Kim Possible story. My school's homecoming is today so, for sentimental reasons, I decided to post this. Hope you like it!
Elsa rushed to Tucker's side as the poor boy was thrown to the floor while Danny Phantom tackled the ever persistent hunter, Skulker.
"Tucker!" she called as she kneeled down to help him up, "Are you okay?"
He groaned as he stood up, rubbing his backside to try and soothe the pain, "Yeah, just great. Kinda wish Danny was a little more careful though."
"What did Skulker want with you?" she asked with a raised brow before a loud crash followed by a small explosion sounded from behind them.
They both ran and ducked behind one of the bushes in the park, the darkness of the early night shielding them from onlookers. Tucker huffed before slumping beside his friend, "Skulker, still can't figure out the tech I hacked him with. There are still a few bugs that apparently act up from time to time," he sighed in exasperation, "Not that he would think to actually go to the technology ghost. No, he came to kidnap me!"
Elsa couldn't help the smile on her face and she shook her head at her friend. They both suddenly heard the familiar sound of the thermos sucking up the ghost and felt safe enough to pop their heads out and check. Sure enough, Danny was on the ground, capping the top of the thermos with a sigh of relief. "Man," he shook his head as his friend and his girlfriend emerged from the bush, "Is it just me or are his appearances just getting annoying?"
Tucker opened his mouth to respond but the ringing of Elsa's phone cut him off. The blonde pulled out her phone and answered with a "Hello?"
"Listen guys, I know you're dealing with some ghost stuff right now," Sam's voice sounded through the phone, "But I can't keep stalling for all of you. Lancer's taking role soon."
Danny groaned, "Why do we have to go to the stupid homecoming game anyway?"
"Cause last year everyone broke into the school during the game instead of going," Tucker deadpanned, "If we don't get there soon, Lancer's gonna freak."
"Well, ghosts powers, as inconvenient as they can be, do have their uses."
So, in a few short minutes, Danny managed to fly both Tucker and Elsa to the Casper High football field. They found Sam and managed to get into the game at the last minute, meaning they all had to squeeze together in the second row of the stands, right by the bench.
"Well, at least we won't fail the assignment," Sam sighed at the four of them just watched the game with disinterest. Sure, they would cheer on their school, but sitting there to cheer on people who mostly picked on them was not fun. "What's even worse," Sam grimace, "We'll have perfect seats to see Dash and Paulina win Homecoming Queen and King."
After a collective groan, they all went back to silently watching the game, occasionally breaking off into small conversations. When halftime came, the cheerleading team did their routine before Lancer moved to the field and faced the crowd with his usual small smile.
After going on about school spirit and the "spirit of Casper High," he held up two envelopes. "And here are this year's results," Lancer cleared his throat as he opened the first envelope, "This year's Homecoming King is… Dash Baxter!"
The crowd roared with cheers as Dash jogged out onto the field to receive his crown. "Shocker," Tucker commented before sharing a short laugh with his friends.
"And this year's Casper High Homecoming Queen," Lancer opened the envelope and blinked at it a few times before smiling, "Elsa Arendal!"
The four of them suddenly froze and all turned to Elsa, whose mouth had fallen open. "What?" Sam asked.
"But how?" Tucker added.
"I-I don't know," Elsa looked around at the people who were cheering her on, "I didn't nominate myself. And I know you guys didn't-"
"Elsa Arendal?" Lancer called again.
Tucker just smiled and pushed her to stand up, "Well, go get your crown!"
Elsa stood frozen for another moment, blinked at the crowd before turning to make her way onto the football field, still in a state of shock. "Congrats Danny," Sam smirked at her friend, "You're living your freshman dreams of dating the Homecoming Queen."
Danny just glared at Sam before looking out to see Elsa receive a tiara, watching her as she shyly waved to the crowd. But his blood boiled when he watched Dash sling and arm around her shoulders and scoot close for a few pictures.
"This is so beyond weird," Elsa said as she stood with her friends right outside the football field, holding the tiara she was just given and staring at it. The game had just ended and people were beginning to flood out of the stands, some students even pausing to congratulate her.
Sam shrugged, "You sure you weren't nominated?"
"Well, I was, apparently," she sighed looking at the crown, "Lancer told me I have to wear this in school all week."
"Why?" Danny grimaced, knowing Elsa hated unwanted attention.
She shrugged, "He said it was tradition."
"And a fine tradition it is, Miss Arendal," the four of them looked beside them to find Lancer smiling at the blonde, "I must say, I was surprised when you won, pleasantly surprised. I'm sure you will do good to uphold to good name of Casper High." He nodded at her before passing the four to continue on his way.
Elsa shook her head, "The worst part is… I'm going to have to spend a lot of time with our favorite person."
And everyone knew who she meant.
It was the person who everyone just assumed she was dating after that day. It was the person who definitely had always acted like they had the right to a crown. It was the person who walked her to lunch that Monday because they'd had a meeting prior about this week's events.
Danny accidentally crushed the can of soda in his hand as he watched the pair enter to room.
"Danny," Sam said in a hushed tone, "Angry eyes. Get control of your angry eyes."
He had to take a breath and turn to his friends. "You're right Sam. I should calm down," he tried to shrug it off, "After all, they're just walking into the cafeteria together."
"Oh," Dash's pompous voice almost cut Danny off. Danny turned back to face Dash as the blonde boy smirked down at him, "I thought the nobodies would be cleared out by now."
Danny couldn't help the growl that seeped through his gritted teeth. Dash just raised a brow, "What? The wannabe wanna say something?"
The ghost boy stood and just glared at the jock from his seat, "Want to? Won't," he narrowed his eyes, "Might not be able to stop at words."
"Danny!"
He turned when he heard Elsa excitedly call his name. She came up to him and took hold of his hand with a giant smile on her face. "Did you hear?" she asked, "We got huge donations for both the Special Needs fund and the Senior Center!"
His heart swelled in his chest at her enthusiasm, not to mention the way she looked at him. "That's so great," he smiled right back, "You should be proud, Elsa."
"Come on Els," Dash interrupted their little moment, "Let's find somewhere to sit."
She turned to him and raised a brow, "Um… I'm going to sit with my friends. You can sit where you want." She merely shrugged him off as she sat down beside Danny. Said boy then gave Dash a smug look before the jock sauntered off.
"'Els?'" Sam asked before she wrinkled her nose, "It sounds like he just got tired of saying your full name."
Elsa sighed, "I know. Believe me, I'd much rather hang out with you guys," she took a breath and tilted her chin to mimic a posh posture, "But the work of a royal is never through." The other three laughed at her before she took Danny's hand again. "And I saw you Mr. Angry Eyes."
"Is that really what we're calling them?"
She laughed before laying a hand on his shoulder, "You, Danny, have absolutely nothing to worry about."
"I know," he sighed, "I trust you completely. I just know that Dash is doing it to get on my nerves."
"Well, don't let him," she chided softly before smiling and pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, "Besides, I already have a knight in shining armor. I don't need a king."
The next day was the charity pancake banquet at the firehouse in town. Elsa had invited the trio to come and support the cause and get some good food.
The three friends watched as Elsa rushed around the firehouse, helping firemen, serving food, and helping to prepare it. Her eyes lit up when she spotted them and she smiled as she made her way over to them. "You guys came," she beamed at them.
"Well, yeah," Sam jabbed a thumb at Tucker, "You actually think Tucker would miss the opportunity of free food?"
Tucker nodded in agreement before turning to Elsa, "By the way, I figured out how you got Homecoming Queen. You got the nerd vote," he smirked, "Apparently they were all tired of being stepped on by Paulina and wanted someone who was actually nice to be queen."
Elsa seemed a little taken back before smiling, "Glad to know the nerds are on my side." They shared a small laugh at his expense before a fireman called Elsa's name. "Oh, well, duty calls," she sighed with a smile, giving Danny a small peck on the cheek before pointing her friends over to the brunch that was set up for the charity, "There's food over there. Just help yourself."
She rushed off, her blonde hair bouncing under the tiara she still wore. "You know," Danny smiled as he watched her, "I think she was born for this kind of stuff."
"She does have a natural affinity for leadership," Sam smirked, "And that crown suits her."
"Guys, let's stop talking about Elsa's ability to be Homecoming Queen. Instead, let's get me food."
The two rolled their eyes at Tucker before following him to the spread. They were slightly hesitant though, seeing as Dash was helping serve the food.
Gathering all the courage he had, Danny smiled as he passed the jock. "Hey Dash," he greeted, "Nice job on the Firehouse Fundraiser."
The blonde just blinked back him before quirking his head to the side, "Uh… so it doesn't bother you? With Elsa? Like at all?"
"Hey, I have to be honest, you're doing a great job," Danny just shrugged, "I'm sorry if I acted jealous before."
"Oh," Dash blinked at him, "Well… that's okay."
The trio left with their food and Sam gave Danny a nudge. "Look at you," she teased, "Being the bigger person."
He just shrugged but they all paused when Elsa and Dash were thrown together for a photo. His friends looked back for his reaction but he just rolled his eyes.
"Guys, just look at her," he stared fondly at his girlfriend, "She's doing more than any other girl in the school would with that crown. Look at all the great work she's doing. Why should I stop her if I get a little jealous? Besides, it's not like I actually have anything to worry about."
The old lady a picnic table away from them sighed,"That King and Queen sure do make a cute couple."
Danny's eyes narrowed, "Except that."
They all spent a good amount of time just hanging out and talking with Elsa when she had a free moment. But after a while, a certain techno geek suddenly went missing… again…
"Where's Tucker?" Danny asked before the sound of a motorcycle cut through the air. He glanced up a caught a glimpse of a certain shadow. He sighed, "Of course."
"What's with all the tech savvy ghosts this week?" Sam asked with a raised eyebrow, having noticed as well.
"I don't know," Danny glanced over at Elsa, "The queen seems to be a little busy," he smirked at Sam, "Feel like solo sidekicking?"
She smiled with a shrug, "I'm in."
They left in a flash, sending a quick text to Elsa to let her know what was happening. She told them to just go do their thing, she had another event to attend.
In honestly, while Elsa loved doing the social work, she hated being paraded around the town, especially with Dash. But she smiled as a project leader announced the opening of a new section of the park to the small crowd before them. It had been destroyed during the Vortex storm incident they'd finally replanted and relandscaped everything.
Elsa smiled fondly as she watched some children run around on the grass chasing butterflies and she smiled even more when she saw a big family walking through the newly opened area. She suddenly felt the presence of someone next to her. She swallowed a sigh because she knew exactly who it was. It was the same person who'd been trying to get closer to her all week.
"Hey Dash."
He hummed cheerfully in response before huffing, "It sure is nice out here."
She furrowed her brow, "You like it here?" when he nodded she blinked and turned back to the lovely lush green view, "I've never known you to be a garden kind of guy."
"Oh Elsa," he turned to her, "There's so much you don't know about me."
She just shrugged and faced him, "I guess you can't always judge a book by it's cover," she paused, "Even if that book beat up and picked on my friends for the past year."
"That's not what's important right now. It's behind us," he reached out and took her hand, "My queen."
Elsa's eyes widened and she blinked back at Dash. "Dash," she gently pulled her hand away, "You know, we are officially king and queen, but I am dating Danny. I really care about him and I-Mmph!"
She was cut off when Dash took her hand again and pulled her towards him, locking her lips in a kiss. All she could do was sit there, dumbfounded and frozen.
Danny and Sam had sort of figured out where Tucker was supposedly taken. He was in the ghost zone, they knew that much. However, they do need to be able to track him, and the second best person to take over the technology would be Elsa.
And then he walked into the gardens to find Dash kissing her.
Both him and Sam gasped at the sight. Shock was quickly replaced by anger as Danny marched up to the pair that'd just pulled away from each other. "Will someone explain what the heck is going on here?" he practically growled, trying to keep his hands off of Dash. In his angered state, he could easily break all of Dash's bones with a flick of his wrist.
"Elsa?" Sam asked, staring worriedly at the blonde who hadn't blinked in a long time, "You okay?"
"I think…" she started before wincing, "I think I might throw up."
Dash scoffed, "I'm not a bad kisser. You just didn't kiss me back!"
Her eyes refocused on Dash and and icy glare soon glazed over her features. "Kiss you back?" she repeated slowly, almost not believing him, "You kissed me, knowing full well I have a boyfriend and have no interest in you," her eyes narrowed, "You think you can just do that?! Well I'll tell you now letterboy, you can't."
Sam grabbed Elsa to hold her back and Danny stepped in front of her, partially relieved that she didn't kiss Dash, but still terribly mad. "I don't know what you're up to, but this is a new low," Danny crossed his arms, "Even for you."
"Oh yeah?" Dash raised a brow, "Speaking of low-"
"Which I am," Danny warned clenching his fists at his sides.
"You-" Dash tried but couldn't seem to find words.
Danny raised a brow, "Well?"
"Well… well," Dash's expression crumbled as he fell to his knees and yelled out in anguish, scaring the other three teens.
The trio looked at each other and shared a confused and panicked look before Dash's head rose from his hands and he shook his head. "I don't have a date for the homecoming dance! Look at me! I'm the king of Casper High! Even you have one."
Danny just blinked down at the blonde guy, very disarmed by the situation, "Uh Dash… I uh… wish I could help, but…"
"Me? Needing help from you?" Dash repeated, "I should be horrified, but I don't even have my pride anymore," he brushed himself off and stood, "Fine, I accept."
" … Accept what?" Danny asked.
Dash rolled his eyes, "Your offer to find me a hot date for homecoming"
Sam scoffed, "What about Tucker?"
"Foley and me at homecoming?" Dash raised a brow.
"No!" Sam and Danny opposed quickly, not wanting to get Tucker into another mess.
"Wait," Elsa turned to her friends, "Don't tell me he's gone again."
Dash crossed his arms, "Don't care, I have a real problem here."
"Which is much more important than finding my friend," Danny rolled his eyes.
"Finally you're getting it."
Danny felt his anger rise again, but he took a deep breath and calmed himself. He needed a way to get rid of Dash. Otherwise, the guy will most likely not leave him alone, at least not for long enough for him to go ghost and find Tucker. "Okay, here's what we do. We'll split into teams."
"Can I please switch teams?" Elsa pleaded with the earpiece as she currently observed a "Meet the King of Casper High" event in the school gym.
"You can occupy him long enough so we can check the ghost zone again for Tucker," Danny's voice came through, before it turned a little more stern, "Besides, you owe me."
Elsa felt her heart sink in her chest and she shrunk a bit in her chair, "Danny, I-"
"Elsa!"
Hearing Dash's call, she groaned out loud. But Danny was right, she could find a way to keep him busy so Danny could do his thing. "Okay," she compiled as she turned to go back to Dash's side, "Just be careful and keep me updated."
"Roger that."
His voice cut out after that and Elsa turned to face the long line of girls with as much poise she could muster.
And that ended up being a total disaster, which let Elsa to try the mall. Zero luck. She was running out of options and she hadn't heard from Danny or Sam yet, so she assumed that meant she had to keep Dash occupied so he didn't wonder about her friends.
"A break is just what we need," Elsa tried to convince Dash as they walked towards the doors of the Nasty Burger, he was about to give up and resort to a little more bullying than usual, but Elsa was trying to steer him away from that. Also, she felt a little bad for him.
Suddenly, a very familiar yell rang through the air. Elsa looked up to find a familiar ghost girl holding onto her friend as she fled from the town's hero.
"Is that Foley? And Danny Phantom?" Dash asked before he got excited and turned to Elsa, "You think I could ask him to homecoming?"
"Uh," Elsa took a second to process that but snapped out of it when Dash turned to follow the group, "Dash, wait!"
She followed him to the park into the treeline and she finally managed to catch his attention. "Dash," she huffed before trying to make up an excuse for her friends, "We don't know where they went. We should split up. You go that way," she pointed opposite of where the group had flown, "And I'll go this way."
With a smile and a nod, he was off. A second after he disappeared from sight, the three fell down from the sky right next to her. Danny took the time to pull Tucker behind him. "Don't worry, Tucker. I got you," he stated before glaring at the ghost that nabbed him.
The ghost, who Elsa recognized to be Kitty, stomped her foot, "This isn't your problem Danny."
"Dude seriously it's fine," Tucker said as he stepped out from behind his friend, "She asked for my help."
Elsa raised a brow, "Your help? With what?"
Tucker shrugged, "The ghost database and searching the personals."
"Kitty kidnapped you so you could search the ghost's profiles?" Danny asked in disbelief.
"Well… she didn't really kidnap me."
"I'm paying him," Kitty crossed her arms, "Found him at the firehouse and we made a deal," she turned up her nose before putting her back to the others, "Johnny and I are taking a break and I wanted something different until I go back to him. I can't expect you to understand."
"You're right," Danny shrugged, "I can't."
"Elsa!" Dash's voice rang through the trees, "Did you find-? …" He trailed off when his eyes met Kitty's and the two just stared at each other.
"Yeah…" Tucker raised a brow at them, "Anyways, it was too much data at first, so I tried to whip up a new program to find her a rebound. It just didn't work. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find the right combo of shallow, selfish, and insensitive, but still hot enough?"
Elsa and Danny shared a look. "Yeah, actually," Danny nodded.
Elsa nodded as well, "I think we have a pretty good idea."
Sure enough, a week later, Kitty was in Dash's arms at the homecoming dance in Casper High's gym.
"Well," Danny sighed as he looked over Elsa's shoulder at the dancing couple, "This is the strangest dance I've ever been to. And my freshman dance had a dragon."
Elsa laughed as her and Danny swayed side to side in a slow dance, kind of watching the couple carefully. She glanced back at them and then back to him,"Do you think it's-"
"It's probably fine," he shrugged it off. He turned to her and pulled her a little closer to him. "And," he smirked, "It put an end to the king kissing."
She leaned away from him with wide eyes. "D-Danny, I would never-"
"I know," he smiled, pulling her back to him, "It's okay."
He took her hand and she smiled. "You know, I never quite got the unexpected Dash kiss out of my mind," she reached up and grabbed Danny's chin, "Maybe I could just…" she leaned in for a quick kiss, making Danny laugh. "Oh, no, I still remember it," she shook her head, kissing him again. "Maybe one more," she did it once again, causing more and more laughter from him as she continued with little comments and excuses.
"Hey! Loser lovers!"
They broke apart when Dash yelled out to them. "Some dweeb from the yearbook wants a 'royal portrait," he cringed, "I can't believe there's going to be photographic evidence that we associated."
"You know some of us learn and grow from our adventures," Elsa raised a brow.
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes and walked away to rejoin Kitty.
Elsa looked over to Danny and shrugged, "Happy ending?"
"Weird happy ending," he corrected, "But, yeah. A happy ending."
