Without further ado, let the chapter begin!

This was a strange feeling that Blake has never experience before. He was sitting on a large bean bag chair with Rosie right beside him. Rosie has her arm wrapped around Blake comfortingly while she was holding a book in her other hand.

Blake kept his hands together but was slowly cuddling close to Rosie while she read the book he wanted her to read.

The book was called, The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear.

"Quick! There's only one way in the whole wide world to save a red, ripe strawberry from the big, hungry Bear!" Rosie exclaimed and turned the page of the book.

Blake stared at the next page as it showed the mouse was cutting the strawberry in half.

Rosie smiled, "Cut it in two. Share half with me. And we'll both eat it all up. Yum. Now, that's one red, ripped strawberry the big, hungry Bear will never get! The End."

Rosie closed the book gently and looked at Blake after she softly ran her fingers through his hair.

"Did you like the story?" Rosie asked.

Blake nodded, he was hesitant to say something at first. Rosie could tell because of the look on his face. She encouraged him to tell her what's wrong. The little boy whispered, "Can you read me another story?"

This made Rosie smile even more and she kissed his forehead.

"Of course I can. Do you want me to read you a story now? Or wait until it's bedtime?" Rosie asked.

"I want another one story now." Blake quietly said and stayed close to her.

Rosie nodded and reached out to grab another book. She held Blake close, she smiled when Blake looked calmer than usual.

Aaron walked into the room and heard Rosie snoring loudly. He heard a child's laughter and raised an eyebrow. He walked further in the room and noticed Rosie and Blake on bean bag chair.

Rosie laughed loudly with Blake when she held the book close to them.

"Jason yelled, "PAPA, WAKE UP." His father jumped up, ran around the kitchen three times and went back to bed." Rosie loudly exclaimed and laughed when Blake started giggling. Blake enjoyed how Rosie was acting out in character for the book.

Aaron watched them and crossed his arms. He couldn't help but notice that Rosie acts different around kids. She's has a lot of patience with the kids and loves being around all the kids.

Blake's laughter was something that Aaron hadn't heard yet and he was amazed.

After Aaron made his presence's known, Blake immediately stopped laughing and had a blank look on his face. He stayed close to Rosie and didn't look at Aaron.

"Hey Aaron. What's wrong?" Rosie asked and held Blake close in her arms.

Aaron replied, "Nothing. Your parents said its time to go."

"Right, it's time to go." Rosie said when she looked at the time on the clock. She got up from the bean bag chair and held Blake close. Aaron held his arms out for the child but Blake immediately rejected him and cling onto Rosie tightly.

Rosie smiled, "I'll take Blake to his room on my way back to my parents."

"I'm telling you, the kids already have favorites." Aaron murmured.

Deep in an abandoned building in the middle of nowhere. A familiar cloak figure was walking to the front doors and made his way inside.

After entering inside, Zane took his hood off and sigh quietly.

"I hope this isn't a waste of my time." Zane mumbled.

Zane cautiously further inside the building as he pulled out a small holograph. It revealed the map of the whole building, there are five floors and Zane was interested in the basement level. He placed the holograph in his back pocket and made his way to the elevators.

Surely Zane knew that the elevators weren't working, but that wasn't going to stop him from having fun.

Zane opened the doors apart and had a grinned on his face.

He took a few steps back and made a run for it. Zane jumped down the elevators without a care in the world. Feeling the rush going through his body, Zane used his electric powers and made sure to land safely on the ground.

"Damn, that was fun." Zane admitted and dust himself off.

Zane noticed the basement level was vacant, dusty, and dark. With a flick of his wrist, Zane send a ray of electric through the ceilings and made all the lights turn on in the basement. Once the whole basement floor was lit up, Zane could see everything just fine now.

"Where would someone keep their important files or information?" Zane quietly mumbled.

For the past couple of weeks or months, Zane has been doing his own thing. He's trying to find more information that Michael kept hidden from everyone. Providence only scratch the surface of Michael's work. However, Zane has a feeling there might be more to it.

After getting a few anonymous sources, Zane made it a point to travel to Oregon to find the building that might hold some hidden secrets.

Zane approached a few computers and started to search through them.

Most of them were useless information. There was just records of former employees and the supplies that came in. Zane continued searching through the computers but spotted something in a distant.

Zane got up and went to one of the empty office desks. He picked up a broken picture framed and dust off some of the dust.

He noticed there was three people in the picture. There was a man in the photo who looked stern but had a smile on his face. The man had black hair with a few gray streaks at the side and his eyes was blue. He was holding someone in the picture, it looks to be his wife. The woman looked happy in the picture as she held her round stomach. She had dark brown with dark green eyes.

Zane glanced at another woman beside the couple and was stunned.

"No way." Zane said in disbelief.

Rosie resist the urge to yawn during class. Economic class wasn't the most interesting class but Rosie managed to make it work. As class was coming to an end, Ryan glanced at Rosie and noticed she was slowly drifting to sleep.

He quickly tossed a small eraser at Rosie's head and returned back to his work.

That made Rosie snap out of her drowsy trance. She rubbed her eyes quickly and was glad that the bell for lunch ringed. Rosie frantically placed her notebook and pencils in her backpack.

Both Ryan and Rosie made their way out of the class and didn't try to come up with a conversation. They awkwardly stood beside each other until Ryan's football team called out for him from across the courtyard.

"Go on. I'm waiting for Farron." Rosie said.

Ryan sigh but waved, "See you around Rose."

Rosie waved back and watched him walk to his group of friends. She knew things weren't going to be the same as it use to be. But Rosie was willingly to give Ryan a chance. After waiting for a few minutes, Rosie started to look for Farron.

She walked to the cafeteria and noticed Farron was with Emma. They were happily chatting with each other and were eating their lunches in peace. This made Rosie smile but she slowly turned around and started to walk away.

Making friends wasn't Rosie's cup of tea, she wonders if its her fault that she doesn't have many friends.

Rosie sigh quietly and went outside to the courtyard. She decided to focus on her work while she ate her lunch. After finding a vacant table outside in the courtyard, Rosie sat down and pulled out her laptop from her backpack.

Once the laptop was set on the table, Rosie started working on organizing her notes on the kids. After typing up half of the data on the kids in a secure document, Rosie felt her hands starting to cramp up.

Instead of taking a break, Rosie continued to work and felt something on her shoulder.

She turned her head and glanced at her shoulder.

There was a toy spider on her shoulder but it looked so real to Rosie.

"SPIDER!" Rosie screeched fearfully and smacked the toys off her shoulder. She struggled to get out of the table and accidentally tripped. The sound of a bunch of students laughing at her made Rosie had flashbacks of the past.

She glared at Suzie when she grabbed the fake spider from the ground.

Suzie grinned, "For someone who's considered 'courageous' in Ryan's eyes, you're just a scaredy cat."

Rosie grabbed her things and started to walk past Suzie and her group of friends. She wasn't going to let Suzie get the best of her.

'Just wait a little longer Rosalind. You're almost done with high school, just keep moving forward.' Rosie thought to herself and kept walking to her next class. As Rosie entered in the classroom, Farron was watching her from a distance. He pulled out his phone and quickly texted Aaron to tell him what was going on.

The kids were a bit hyper than usual today and Rosie still wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. As she was rubbing her forehead, Rebecca approached Rosie with two pills and a bottle of water.

"This should help with your headache." Rebecca said and gave Rosie the pills and bottle of water.

"Thanks mommy." Rosie gratefully said.

Rebecca grabbed a chair and sat down in front of her daughter. She waited until Rosie was ready to talk after she swallowed the pills and a bit of water.

Rebecca asked, "Want to tell me what happened today?"

Needing to get some things off her chest, Rosie quietly said, "I'm just having one of those days. Today wasn't the best but I'm making sure it doesn't affect my work. Especially with the kids."

"What exactly happened that made your day go bad?" Rebecca worriedly said.

Rosie looked down at her water bottle and slowly mumbled, "Suzie decides to pull a prank on me during lunch. I was busy doing some papers on my laptop when she placed a fake spider on my shoulder...mom, out of anything, you know that I'm terrified of spiders. So I freaked out and the whole school started laughing at me. Then it went downhill for the rest of my classes."

"You're still being picked on at school?" Rebecca said upset.

Rosie sigh, "Mom, don't worry too much about it. I can handle them until graduation. Besides, they're not worth my time. Remember what you always told me when I was little? Sticks and stones may break my bones-"

"But words will never break me." Rebecca finished.

That made the girl smiled brightly, "See? Those words always help me through anythings. Plus, the real world won't care about my feelings. So I need to toughen up."

"Hey, you are tough. You're tougher than most girls your age." Rebecca reassured.

That made Rosie giggled a little and shook her head. She added, "Well, most girls my age don't experience stuff like this on a daily basis. Especially when they have to take care of their own little school of gifted youngsters. Kind of reminds you of the X-Men movies huh?"

Both mother and daughter started laughing and continued with their chat until an agent hurried in.

"Rosalind! One of your student accidentally blew up the wall and we need your help to calm them down." The agent reported.

Rosie can only guessed on who it might be. It could be either Franklin, Aidan or Blake-

"I'll be right back mom!" Rosie said as she ran out of the room when she heard another explosion from a distance.

"I take full responsibility for what happened. It's not his fault that he can't control his powers, I should have trained him better." Rosie told White Knight through the screen.

"That child is causing more trouble than the rest of the children. If you can handle him then I'll find a replacement immediately." White Knight frowned.

Rosie crossed her arms and argued, "Go ahead and find a replacement. See if you can find anyone that can handle 10 kids with powers. Look, we don't know anything about Blake and he still refuses to tell anyone about his past. All we know about him is that Zane found him and took him here. I'm slowly gaining his trust. Just give me some more time. I managed to calm him down today, the longer I work with him, the more likely he'll control his powers."

"How do we know something like this won't happen again?" White Knight asked.

Rosie grabbed a box from a table and pulled out some gloves that only covered two fingers. She said, "These are artist gloves, this might help Blake not activate his powers. Since his powers only activate when all five fingers touch an object, I figured that this will help him out. I've been talking with my Uncle about making support items for the other kids. But it's a work in process."

"I expect the reports on everything that's going on-"

"Already on it! I send the blue prints to your secretary and I'm almost done with my weekly report...but a little warning, I may have written over...10 pages." Rosie nervously smiled.

White Knight sigh but admitted, "At least you're actually working, unlike a certain someone."

Rosie tried not to laugh, she knew that Knight was referring to Rex. As Rosie set the gloves back in the box, she almost forgot something. She looked back at the screen and said, "Hey, did you approve of the request I send last night?"

"I approved it, I don't see the point of doing 'safety' drills." White Knight muttered.

Rosie pointed out, "Hey, my schools does fire drills and a code red drills. The only drill I want the kids to focus on right now is a code red. We don't know if someone might come to the base and start an attack. So I want to prepare the kids so they can be safe if something like that happens."

"I recommend to start training a little bit more so you can be ready to protect the kids." Aaron said as he walked into the room and appeared right behind her.

"I'll do that...but I can already feel the bruises coming after we train with dad." Rosie winced quietly.

That's it for Chapter 42. It was an interesting story to write down.

Thank you for your reviews YellowAngela for chapter 40 and 41 :) No need to worry, I understand that you're extremely. So take your time with the readings :) Also, you're not wrong, Rosie is basically going to run her own school of gifted youngsters like the X-Men (Even though it's only temporary) XD Since Rosie loves being around kids, this is the perfect job for her to do. And Ava is adopted, I mentioned in the story but I forgot what chapter ^^"

There might be a slight delay for updating. My Marketing class (Which is Online) is having double the work load for each week. Hopefully I'll figure out a perfect schedule to help with writing the story. Until then, stay safe out there and have a nice day :)
