Session 31

Parents

Aegiochusmon sighed.

A few minutes had passed since Polly and Chacha's sparring match, which still had no victor. By that point, his mind was on other things.

Ever since they had got there, he had the strange feeling that they were being watched. At first, it was hardly noticeable, just the occasional glance or blur of motion. But after their rest and Chacha's reactivation, it seemed to grow with intensity.

"There you are."

The group turned around, finding a man standing before them. A long metal pole hung tightly in his hands, more than ready to be put to use.

"So are you a stripper or something?" Lily remarked and got a glare from both her partner and the man.

"What do you think?" the man answered and let out a whistle. "But before you judge us, we're missing someone."

A woman then appeared, dressed in a labcoat.

"Here I am!"

Their audience just stared off into space, unsure of what to really make of them.

"At the very least, fear us!" the man announced, only for his companion to just appear behind him.

"I'm going to say this once." Aegiochusmon muttered and let his gaze focus in on the two. "You will leave. Without a fuss."

"No." the man announced and ran forward, grabbing Polly by the neck. "You hand her over."

Terra Archens (Blazing Earth)!

The beam of lava headed towards it's intended target, only for the monk to be pulled in front of them.

"Cowards!" Elena screamed and took a step forward, only for Alice to hold her back.

"Now is not the time to run headfirst." she remarked and took a deep breath, getting a nod from her girlfriend in return.

"No, Elena is right." Aegiochusmon muttered as Polly focused in on him. "Personally, I'm surprised those infertile dipshits had the balls to take her back."

For that response, the man attempted to flip them off. But in the process of doing that, he managed to let go of Polly. She gave him a kick to the stomach and ran back over to Aegiochusmon.

"We were hoping that this could be done smoothly." Polly's mom continued. "But you left us with no choice."

She let out a whistle, only for a familiar angel to appear.

"I'm back, motherfuckers!" Talos announced and did a bodybuilding pose. While he was doing that, Polly's mom threw a bunch of test tubes into the air. They weren't filled with anything mind you, but served more as a distraction of sorts.

Whirlwind Sting!

A howling twister shot out of Adarnamon's mouth, launching Elena and Lily into the air as everyone else watched on.

Yumi Shot!

As the two reached the top of the cyclone, Lily fired a couple of arrows off. While a few hit their mark, most of them seemed to miss the vials. If nothing else, they made one of their opponent's aim worse.

Gale Strike!

Elena dived towards the trio of opponents, only for them to just laugh.

"You could have just made this easy for us." Miss Gostelow shouted, slamming her left foot into the corsair. "We were just here for our daughter."

Elena only rolled her eyes. Even if this woman really was Polly's mother, there seemed to be total disconnect between the two. For the moment though, she would have to focus her attention upon the ongoing fight.

Toxin Dive!

Adarnamon followed her partner, slamming her talons into their opponent's arm. Green bubbles began to appear outside of the wound, only to have no effect upon it's victim.

Spiritflare!

Alice fired off her left gun, watching the shot miss both targets.

"Now."

A shotgun blast rang out, with a slight aggravated Suiko just faintly observable.

"It could use some work." Elena remarked and watched the schoolgirl return to Alice's body.

Gobble Grenade!

The turkey mobster lobbed a grenade up into the air and made a hand motion towards his partner in crime.

Hellfire!

Astamon fired off a quick burst from his machine gun, the two watching as both attacks connected. What followed, was a much smaller explosion than expected, but damage nonetheless. Even then, the amount in question was quite miniscule.

"Our offer is still on the table, just so you know." Mr Gostlelow added, swatting Astamon away with a large metal pole. "But now, I believe it's time to turn the tables."

The man then charged towards them, stabbing the pole into his opponent and flung him to the side.

"Adrian, Lauren, enough of this." Aegiochusmon announced, releasing his grip on Polly. "You did something wrong and now, you need to face your punishment."

"Wrong?" Lauren whispered, only for the harem mage to slam his left hand into her throat and slammed her into the dirt. "We were just protecting her for the next gen-"

Before she could finish, Aegiochusmon gave her head a slight kick.

"Shut up, you fucking whore." he started, taking a deep breath. "I have walked across two worlds, taken down many strong opponents just even get to place where I could meet back up with both of my partners and atone for my sins. Now, you two want to take all that away as we're mere feet away from the finish line?"

Adrian only made a quick glance towards the harem mage, making his way towards Polly.

"No."

Polly charged towards her father, unleashing a rapid flurry of punches upon him.

"I understand it now." she continued, throwing him into the ground. "I'm just a little tool to you three, aren't I?"

Her comment seemed to catch Adrian off guard.

"So what?" Adrian screamed, only for his "daughter" to pull him out of the ground and throw him into a still posing Talos.

Talos then scraped Adrian's body off of him, only to laugh.

"You morons win this round." the angel explained as he cracked a cocky smile, teleporting away with both Gostelows. "But, this isn't the last you'll see us. It will come, and when it does..."

After, the majority of Delta turned their attention towards Polly and her partners.

"Uh... explanation?" Adarnamon started as Aaron walked up to Aegiochusmon, whispering something into the harem mage's ear. Reluctantly, Aegiochusmon nodded and the detective cleared his throat.

"Basically, Aegiochusmon and a whole bunch of people are part of this group that started this mess." As the detective explained that to Delta, Polly and Aegiochusmon sneaked away.

The duo made their way over to the side of the building. While they were certain they weren't being followed, that probably didn't stop some of the group's better listeners from picking up on what they were saying.

"Thanks." Polly whispered and gave her partner a hug. In return, the harem mage gave a nod and dug through his kneepads. Eventually, he grabbed hold of whatever he was looking for.

"In that case, you better have this." Aegiochusmon answered and planted in Polly's hand. "This was a friend's of your's."

"Uh.. what happened to this 'friend'?"

Aegiochusmon let out a chuckle.

"If my memory serves me correctly, she erased herself from this timeline."

His response seemed to catch the monk off guard. But, she remained composed as best she could.

"Doing what exactly?"

"Attempting to kill you and your classmates, for some unexplained reason."

Polly laughed, deciding to just slip the device into her pocket.

"Thanks for telling me at least."

With that, the two made their way back towards the group.
