"Good, because it's time to leave."
Sean watched as all of the clones got up from their seats and walked over to Aayla. Sean could hear the one in yellow, who he got to know as Bly, talking with the general. Unfortunately they were out of earshot. The titan took this opportunity to prep his weapons, he calibrated the scope for his distant relation, oiled the joints of his Bastion, and made sure his hammerhead wouldn't jam. He immediately remembered the time it jammed in the second invasion of the Black Garden. He shuddered as he remembered Asher Mir's vex arm. Looking at his hand, he took the gauntlet off to reveal a vex hand and forearm. I'm never gonna get over this am I? My gun JAMMED! A BLACK ARMORY weapon jammed! How does that even happen!?. He was torn out of his thought when a hand placed itself on his shoulder. He looked up to see Rex, eyeing the titan's hand.
"How did you get that?" he asked. "I got it from the Vex. You see, the Vex aren't the mechanics themselves, they are the liquid in the center of the robotic frames. It is called Radiolaria. getting into physical contact with no protective gear will turn you into one. My gun jammed and because of it, I was blasted off a platform and landed into a lake of the stuff." Sean explained, getting more monotone with every word he says. "My arm was exposed and you can guess what happened next." He said, gesturing to his hand. "Whoa." was all Rex said. Sean dismissed the captain and got up, putting his gauntlet back on. He walked over to the general addressing the troops. "Excuse me, general. I'd like to know where I'm needed." he told the general. Aayla had a contemplative expression. "You, Sean, will stay at the camp and watch over our other general along with Rex." she answered. Sean nodded and walked back to the fire.
It was still a little bit before Aayla, Ahsoka, and the rest of the team went out. when they did though, Sean gave an exasperated sigh and pulled something out, a bottle. Rex couldn't understand the characters on the bottle, but it looked to be an amber liquid. Sean unscrewed the cap and chugged for exactly three seconds before putting it away. "What was that?" Rex asked, only to be met with a guttural laugh from the Irish titan. "It's a drink from where I come from called 'Whiskey'." Sean said after calming down. "Interesting. Could I take a drink? I'm a bit parched." Rex asked. Immediately, Sean jumped off the ground. "No no no no no! This doesn't quench thirst! It's just something to drink while 'loosening up'." Sean said frantically. "Oh." Rex said, immediately realizing what Sean meant. "Then why are YOU drinking it? We are on duty." Rex asked the titan, perplexed. "I have a very high tolerance. I don't even drink it for the effect anymore because my tolerance is so high. I just drink it now because it's a habit." the titan answered.
"So." Sean started, "You asked your questions about me, now I get to ask my questions about you. I don't have any specific questions, just give me the history of this war." he said. Rex looked at Sean and proceeded to explain. "Okay. So first, the republic has been the main force of the galaxy for as long as anyone can remember, until the CIS, Confederacy of Independent Systems showed themselves. They created armies of droids meant specifically for war. The republic's response was to make a clone army to combat the droids. The war began on a planet called Geonosis, a desert planet that is hoe to a race of insect-like beasts. The droids had no mercy and neither did we. We are fighting on multiple fronts everyday, and will continue to until we win."
"Damn that's hardcore."
Not much was said between them as a unbearable silence engulfed the camp, with only the crackling of the flames keeping them company, until a howl was heard, breaking the sound of the unpredictable pops of the fire. They immediately got up and prepped themselves. Rex grabbing his DC-15 and Sean grabbing his Bastion. They started inching back towards the only tent in the camp. They could here rustling in the tall grass and low growls coming from said grass. "I'm reading movement!" Atlas said. "Atlas. My bastion wont be enough. You still got the Lighter?"
"I like where this is going!"
Suddenly, a sword appeared in Sean's hands, lighting itself ablaze.
"ALRIGHT!" Sean shouted.
"WHO'S READY TO GET SOME?!"
