Chapter 4: The Training

The next day the group of seven has gathered their families after lunch because Ruby want to talk to them about something she thought in her mind after Light left yesterday.

Ruby: "Hi everybody! I'm glad you came to hear me! To hear me I'm glad you came!"

Grandpa Longneck: "What do you want to talk about little one, did you think about something?"

Tria: "I'm sure it's something Light said to us"

Ruby: "When Light spoke about the monsters and Him he said they were strong, if you take that information and look at us you will see that we're not very strong now so I thought that training against monsters just outside the Great Valley would be good for us! Good for us training it would be!"

Mr Threehorn: "Well Cera is already strong so she doesn't need training!"

Cera: "Dad! I'm strong like my friends right now! I need to do it too!"

Petrie: "Petrie thinks that training will be good for us, we might get new skills and spells after that"

Grandma Longneck: "Alright just be careful young ones"

The kids: "We will!"

The group of seven made their way toward the entrance of The Great Valley, everyone inside have been informed about the situation so every dinosaurs they meet along the way said good luck to the group, after leaving they walk a mile before stopping at a pond with a couple of bushes and trees near it, Littlefoot turns around and said to his best friends.

Littlefoot: "OK everyone! I think we walk far enough from the Great Valley, now eat and drink as much as you want, we will continue the search for monsters after that!"

Chomper: "What I'm going to eat?"

Chomper looks at the tree to see if he can find any stinking buzzer nest but they were none, he was sad but decide he could at least drink before searching for crawlers, just then he notices that inside the pond the were fish inside.

Chomper: "Yum! Swimming scalies!"

When Chomper drop his jaws into the water to catch his first fish everyone look away, his friends knows that Chomper need to do that to survive but they couldn't watch what was going to happen next, a couple of seconds after that Chomper returns with a fish inside his jaw still struggling to escape but Chomper places the fish's head between his teeths and bite to make a quick death, then he ate the fish whole not even leaving the bones because the force of his jaw was strong enough to turn bones to dust.

Chomper: "Delicious!"

He then notices everyone looking away, of course Chomper knows why so he said.

Chomper: "Sorry everyone but I need a couple more... but I will be quick!"

When everyone has finish eating Littlefoot gathered everyone and said.

Littlefoot: "Ok everyone the plan is like this, me, Cera, Spike and Chomper will be in the front like Light said meanwhile Ducky your just behind in the middle and Ruby & Petrie are behind Ducky, Petrie launch your Frizz spell until you run out of MP and Ruby if someone get some scratches use Heal, sounds good to you?"

The others: "Sound good to us!"

The group continues to walk a couple of minutes until suddenly a group of three monsters jumps in front of them, they look like a drop of skywater (if you know the Dragon Quest franchise you know it is a slime).

Suddenly in front of everyone a menu appears, they see their HP & MP display in bar with a number above it, bellow the 2 bars another menu is display with the word Attack, Spells & Skills and Defend.

Ducky: "What is that?"

Chomper: "I think it's the battle menu! We need to choose what we will do for this turn"

Littlefoot, Cera, Spike, Ducky Chomper and Ruby chooses attack while Petrie chooses Spells & Skills and select Frizz, when everyone have confirmed Petrie closed his eyes, the two green circles appears around Petrie, he then points the monster on the left with his Oak Staff while opening his eyes again and screams the spell name, in a couple seconds a ball of fire appears just in front of the staff and make her way toward the monster knocking him down before he returns to his place.

Ruby raised her hand and takes one of the arrows inside the quiver, she then puts the arrow in the middle of the bow that she was holding with her left hand and begins to pull back the arrow and the line with her right hand until she knows that the line is stretched enough for the arrow to land inside her target, she then let go and the arrow makes the distance by itself, the arrow impaled the monster knocking him down a couple of second before he returns where he was before.

Chomper charged at the left monster with his claw glove and he does a diagonal strike with it, the monster is cut to five pieces and stay like that just one second before he disappear, leaving just a little blue light where it was before.

Littlefoot charged at the middle monster and does a diagonal strike with his sword cutting the monster in half, the monster stay like this for one second before his two pieces reunited.

Ducky charged at the middle monster and does a horizontal slash with the fan cutting the monster in half again but again the monster reunited his two pieces together.

Cera charged at the middle and does a horizontal slash with her spear cutting the monster again but like before he reunited his two pieces together.

Spike charged and does a vertical blow with his club against the monster, finally the monster exploded from the impact and disappears, leaving just a little blue light again.

The last monster then charged Cera and slams his body which make her scream from the pain.

Cera: "AAARGH!"

The others: "Cera! Are you alright?"

Cera: "It's worse than falling down into the ground!"

She then looks at her HP bar to see how much damage she took only to find out that she has only lost two HP.

Cera: "If that much pain is only worth two HP I don't want to find when it's more!"

Everyone decided to attack the last monster with their weapons but he only took Petrie, Ruby, Chomper and Littlefoot's attack before he disappears leaving a blue light like the other monsters before him, all of them sheaths their weapons on their holster and begins to breathe normally again.

Littlefoot: "We won our first battle!"

Suddenly the three balls of blue light separates on their own until they are twenty one blue lights, the twenty one balls then made seven lines of three blue lights before they made their way inside their bodies until all of them have receive three blue lights, everyone is shocked about that but everyone feels warmer after that somehow, Littlefoot recovers and asked to Petrie and Ruby.

Littlefoot: "Petrie, Ruby do you know what that was?"

Ruby place her hand to her chest which opens her menu so she can see what was different, she takes a minute to find what was different and said to him.

Ruby: "Everything is the same from the last time I look except the number just after EXP, it was zero but now it's three! The number is different from the last time!"

Ducky: "What's EXP?"

Petrie: "Petrie has the information! EXP mean Experience, it's the number that show the amount of experience you have against monsters and when that number increased if we have enough our LVL will go up and we will become stronger!"

Littlefoot: "Ok now all we need is to find more monsters, Cera are you alright? Ruby can heal you if you want?"

Cera: "I can manage, beside we need to save as much as we can because when we will run out of MP we can't use the skills and spells anymore forever"

Petrie: "Me think about that since me and Ruby are the only one with magic right now, if you remember we used a spell against Light yesterday but when we start the battle today our MP was full, me think that sleeping heal our HP & MP so you don't have to worry about that, also if you think a little you will find that would be strange to become stronger but without any chance to use our new resource"

Cera: "Now that you said that yes it's true, that would be strange indeed"

The group of seven continues to walk and fight a group of two skywater drop, then a group of three skywater drop, then a group of four skywater drop, then a group of three skywater drop and a group of five skywater drop which they mange to beat all of them which also makes them have twenty EXP in total with the three EXP from before, then a yellow light envelops their bodies a couple of seconds before the light disappears, after that everyone feels stronger than before.

Ducky: "This feels amazing!"

Then a menu appears in front of everyone, written on it is the phrase Level Up to 2, just bellow that their old stats are written in white followed by a arrow which points to a green number.

Littlefoot: "I think the green number means that it's the new number for this stat"

Littlefoot: "I suggest we keep training until the sky turned red, sound good to you?"

The other: "Yeah!"

The group of seven keeps training against every group of monsters they find on their search, when the sky turned red they have reached LVL 5 for everyone.

Littlefoot: "Well… that was some training, we should return inside the Great Valley"

Petrie: "Petrie and Ruby will help Littlefoot and Ducky to learn magic on the way back!"

The group of the seven then made their back toward the Great Valley, like Petrie said him and Ruby helps Littlefoot and Ducky so they can use their magic, meanwhile everyone left trained to be able to use their new skills in battle, Petrie and Ruby also manages to train their new spells and skills between the help.

When they returns to their valley the group made their way toward their meeting spot so they can find their parents and tells them everything before dinner.

The kids: "We're home!"

Mama Flyer: "How was it?"

Littlefoot: "Fighting monsters was tough but we manage and become even much stronger than before!"

Mama Swimmer: "Did you eat your lunch before training?"

Cera: "We eat before our first fight!"

Everyone left after that to eat dinner at their respective home, when the Night Circle is in the sky Grandma Longneck yawns and shivers a little before saying.

Grandma Longneck: "It's a bit chill tonight"

Littlefoot has heard his Grandma and begins to think to help her, this take him a couple of minutes but he find an idea and said.

Littlefoot: "Don't worry Grandma, I'll be back!"

The old couple watches their grandson make his way toward some bushes and rocks, a couple of minutes after he has left Littlefoot returns with five thick sticks and twenty stones inside mouth, he then places the sticks in a way to make them stands against each other, then he places the twenty stones around the five sticks in a circle, when that is done he made two steps back and closed his eyes so he can begin to concentrate, in a couple of seconds two green circles appears around him, he then open his eyes and points the sticks with his right front paw before screaming.

Littlefoot: "FRIZZ!"

A small ball of fire appears in front of his right front paw and travels toward the sticks, when the ball of fire touched the sticks they are set on fire and instantly gives warm to the old couple and Littlefoot, after she was beginning to warm up again Grandma Longneck said to her grandson.

Grandpa Longneck: "Thank you Littlefoot that is very creative! And you can use magic now to it seems"

Littlefoot: "Now I, Petrie, Ducky and Ruby can use it!"

Grandma: "You have grown so much in a couple days young one!"

Littlefoot "Thank you Grandma! Good night everyone!"

Grandpa Longneck & Grandma Longneck: "Good night Littlefoot!"

Littlefoot and his grandparents then closed their eyes and the day reached his end with them.

Next time on The Land Before Time: Journey to save The Great Valley a couple days after their training the group has stayed inside the valley to help against the attack of several group of monsters that made their way inside the Great Valley but something tragic happened and Grandpa Longneck tells Littlefoot and his best friends what happened.
