To Court a Miko Chapter 2

"Oi! Wench! Where do you think you're going?!" Inuyasha yelled as Kagome made her way down the road from the village. Kagome continued walking, saying over her shoulder in a bored tone: "Wherever I feel like Inuyasha, I do not feel a jewel shard, and you were too busy arguing with Miroku and Shippo to pick a direction, so this is the way we are going."

Inuyasha glared after her, snarling "Wench! You-"

Turning to face him, with her hand on her hip, Kagome cut him off mid-sentence. "Inuyasha, if you wench me one more time, I am telling you that I will say it so many times that you are going to be meeting the first level of Japanese bedrock." Swiftly turning back towards her path, she continued on with her hands replaced in her sleeves.

Inuyasha barely got out his indignant "KEH! Wen-" when Kagome cut him off with a "Sit boy!" THUD!
"Kagome-chan wait for us!" Sango called after her as she jogged towards her. "Yes please Lady Kagome, wait for us!" Miroku called as he walked quickly behind Sango, admiring her backside as she ran. The group continued on without their inu-hanyou, knowing that he would catch up without a problem, leaving him in his crater to recover. Shippo bristled on Kagome's shoulder as she walked and muttered "when will you learn that that is not how you treat my Okaa-san Inuyasha.."

The rest of their day was relatively silent, and uneventful. The group enjoying the ability to go at their own pace and admire the scenery and calling of the birds. When the sun began to display its evening rays of red and orange the group decided to find a nice clearing to camp with suitable protection from travelers on the road. After heading a short distance into the forest, they found a clearing, plenty large for their group and padded with moss, they began to set up camp for the night.

They had finished starting the fire and rolling out beds when Inuyasha came charging into the clearing, red faced and swearing. "How could you fuckers leave me there?! I was in a crater unconscious! And what the hell do you think you are doing?! We still got plenty of daylight so pack up your shit and move it!" The group went about gathering firewood for the night like they hadn't heard a thing. Kagome started pulling out the dinner utensils and the pots and flat rocks for their food that night. Pulling out her water bottles, she realized they were all empty. Needing the water to make rice and tea, she turned to Miroku. "Miroku, it seems that we drank all of our water on our journey today, do you think you could try to find a stream and fill up our water bottles, and our water sacs?"

"I am at your service Lady Kagome, you can count on me! Shippo, I may need some help from your nose to find a stream." He gathered their water supplies, as well as a tea pot and the pot for dinner and they faded from view in the trees. "Thank you Miroku!" Kagome called out behind him.

"Wench I said we're leaving! Pick up your shit and lets go!" Inuyasha growled as he marched up to Kagome, who was continuing to unpack blankets. Not even glancing up at him, she said calmly "By all means Inuyasha, you may continue. I will be staying here, however."

"As will the monk and I Inuyasha. We are tired, and we are hungry. We will not be continuing on, any further today." Sango stated as she finished making the pile of wood for the night.

"Keh! Weak ass humans…" Inuyasha looked towards the sky abruptly, sniffing. He made a disgusted face, growling immediately.

Kagome looked at him, "Inuyasha you can growl all you want, but we're not-"

He cut her off gruffly, "It's Sesshomaru you stupid bitch." Kagome jolted with surprise, eyes widening momentarily and then a great smile emerged on her face. "Oh that mean's Rin-chan is with him! He doesn't come to see us unless he has her and Jaken! Sango-chan would you like to go meet them with me?" Nodding her head, Sango helped Kagome up from her spot and began looking in the air to see if they could see them.

"Don't bother wench. He's coming to us the cocky bastard." Inuyasha scowled.

"Oh! Sango, lets finish making camp, maybe they'll want to stay the night and travel with us for a while! I sure hope so.." Kagome sighed happily. Inuyasha swirled around to face her snarling. "No fucking way is my asshole of a brother and his little brat and pathetic imp staying with us!" He stalked into her personal space continuing to snarl as she replied sarcastically, "You're still here Inuyasha? I thought you were continuing on without us." Kagome turned to give him her annoyed look and saw as Inuyasha stuck his nose up in the air as he began his reply "Keh! I-"

A roar was heard from the sky, as well as the chatters of a joyous young girl. Floating down from the sky with his dragon flying behind him, Sesshomaru landed softly on the ground of their camp.

"Kagome-nee-san!" a squeal erupted from atop of the dragon as a small girl tried to clamber down its' side.

"Sesshomaru you fucking bastard-"Inuyasha growled as he pulled out tetsusaiga.

"Eloquently speaking as always little brother." Sesshomaru looked down his nose at Inuyasha as he strode slowly into the camp.

"What the hell do you want ya bastard?! You're not welcome here!" Inuyasha snarled while pulling tetsusaiga in front of him. Kagome caught Rin as she slipped off of the dragon.

"Inuyasha of course they are welcome here. You're the only one who has ever had a problem with this. So why don't you go into your spot in a tree. I think Kikyo is just south of here, maybe about two miles. Why don't you go spend the night with her?" Kagome glanced at Inuyasha with expressionless eyes while the others stared at her in shock and surprise.

Inuyasha's eyes widened in shock as he stumbled through his words. "H-how did you know she's there?" He finally managed to get out.

Kagome rolled her eyes. "She has part of my soul Inuyasha. Do you really see me as so weak that I cannot feel when my own soul is nearby?" She looked at him with a 'are you really that stupid' look on her face.

Inuyasha was still staring at her slackjawed trying to speak. "Well, I-"

Kagome waved her hand while shaking her head, dismissing him. "Don't bother answering that Inuyasha, I already know what you think of me. Come Rin-chan. I have something for you in my pack. A present if you will. Sesshomaru-sama, would you care for some tea?"

Sesshomaru looked over at Kagome with a slight incline of his head, while saying in his low baritone voice "We need to speak first Miko." Kagome nodded, taking Rin back to Jaken and beginning to follow Sesshomaru.

"Lady Kagome! We could not find the stream you were speaking of! I'm afraid I have returned empty handed." Miroku called as he and Shippo entered the clearing. "Ah! Lord Sesshomaru-sama! Welcome! Hello Rin-chan, it is wonderful to see you." Miroku bowed respectively towards Sesshomaru.

"Hello hoshii-sama! How have you been?" Rin called as she ran over to help him by grabbing the teapot. Kagome gave Sango a look, asking her to watch the camp and stoke the fire while she was speaking with Sesshomaru. Sango nodded, and Kagome turned to follow Sesshomaru out of the camp and into the forest.

"Oi! Wench! Are you really stupid enough to go with him ALONE?! What if he wants to kill you?! Do you have a death wish?" Inuyasha stomped his foot as he screamed at her from his hunched over position.

"Well Inuyasha, if he wanted to kill any of us, I would like to believe that he would have done it already." Kagome said without looking back at him as she followed Sesshomaru into the forest.

…..

"Is there something that you wanted Lord Sesshomaru?" Kagome asked while they strolled away from the camp.

"This Sesshomaru requires assistance with his ward." Sesshomaru said as he turned towards Kagome, deeming that they were far enough from prying ears.

"How can I help you with Rin-chan Sesshomaru-sama?" Kagome leaned against a tree, with her hands behind her butt while she waited for Sesshomaru's answer. He gave her a long blank look before answering her. "She is growing, and I wish her to be educated. This Sesshomaru has found that the tutors available are… insufficient to my needs. She also needs someone to guide her through her changes to womanhood. You have proved yourself to be educated and seem to be experienced with children."

"Would you like me to teach her until you can find a sufficient tutor? As well as be a form of guide for her?" Sesshomaru inclined his head towards her in a slight nod. "I would like you to educate her. If I find another more suitable to teach and guide her, I will inform you and have you observe them. If you deem them knowledgeable and appropriate, they will take your place."

Kagome nodded and agreed. "I would love to teach Rin. She is such a sweet little girl and is very intelligent. Thank you for the opportunity Sesshomaru-sama. However, how am I supposed to educate her if we only see you once in a while? That is sure to impede her studies."

"This Sesshomaru intends to join our groups and lead both as alpha. You have no need to worry about the availability of time to teach Rin."

"Alright, thank you Sesshomaru-sama. Would you care for some dinner? We have vegetables and we were able to pick up a bit of rice from the last village. We also have some herbs for tea. It's not much, but there should be enough for everyone."

"Hn. You will return to our companions and remain in your camp until I return." Sesshomaru turned and began to walk the opposite direction.

"Okay, be safe Lord Sesshomaru." Kagome turned and walked back to the camp.

'What a curious woman.. I have this instinct urging me to provide for her.. Fresh meat is necessary for humans to stay strong.. She didn't mention meat in the dinner.. I shall hunt for her, and show the pack that I am a generous alpha.' Sesshomaru stalked into the woods quietly, hunting for suitable prey for his pack.
