It's been sometime since I've uploaded this story, but I'm here and not going anywhere. Another chapter has come and I hope that it's a good one to read for some of you. Well enjoy.

September 8, 06:00 hrs

Afghanistan

Humphrey drinking some coffee and is sitting on the ground waiting for orders since then they had to reach the town so they can rest soon again. Ghost came out from a truck and told his team to get on the vehicles since they had to get moving now. Friendlies would take their place as they advance onto the next area. The team got their gear on and got their weapons armed and ready.

They all boarded the vehicles and Ghost signaled the lead vehicle to move and the convoy headed to the next area. It's not going to take them long to get to their destination.

Just under thirty minutes they arrive at the town, but something was off. A recon drone arrived in their area and began to fly around the town. Ghost with the controls of the camera of the recon drone looked at the screen and noticed that the enemy is waiting for them and they have IEDs out on specific roadways. Ghost contacted HQ requesting a UAV with AGM missiles at their current location to clear out the IEDs, they didn't have any time to wait for the EODs to arrive. The UAV recon has already marked the IED locations and now they needed the Predator Drone to do the work for them.

A few minutes later the Predator Drone arrived and the drone operator launched AMGs on the marked IED locations thanks to the UAV recon drone that is still in the air.

10 minutes later

All IEDs were destroyed and Ghost's team advance into the two and squads began to dismount and began to clear out the buildings of enemy militia in the area. The rest of the teams began to dismount.

Humphrey dismounted with Bravo team to assist on engaging militia that had set up a stronghold on the center of town, in order to clear the town the stronghold has to be taken.

Nearly 3 hours later the town has been cleared out of all militia, and the enemy stronghold has been taken, all of the enemy militia are either dead or have retreated, however Ghost expects a counter attack to come in a few days so they had to set up fortified defense positions to hold the town so they can make a secure station for their forces to rest and restock on ammunition. The stronghold had tons of enemy weapons and ammo that are going to come in handy for them later on.

Soon after clearing the town addition forces came in and began to preparations to defend the town. Intel says that the enemy are using the roads from the East and from the South East since it's the only roads that they are using to get to the town.

Humphrey enters a three story building going to the third floor and sees through a window that looks out to the East and South East. He along with a couple of others set their stuff on the floor where they are to watch the two roads for the next few days waiting for the counter attack.

12:45 hrs

Humphrey along with Ghost were sitting inside a room in the same building eating their MREs that they made and were expecting a convoy to arrive with supplies that they were going to need in less then an hour. As they ate, Ghost checked on intel and reports that he's received so far. Their isn't much to do right now but Humphrey had to go on patrol near the west checkpoint since he's to wait for the convoy to arrive.

After having their chow, Humphrey got his gear on and grabbed his assault rifle and headed out the room and back outside.

It wasn't long afterward that the convoy arrived with supplies. They arrived on schedule and teams began to unload the trucks of the supplies that they got. Ghost arrived shortly afterwards and saw the boxes coming off the trucks, some had supplies that they needed to set up for defenses on key points in the town. The militia is expect to fight back for this town very hard and it could last for about 60 hours or more this upcoming battle.

Ghost checked on the other supplies which they received LMGs ammunitions for the LMGs, ammo for their assault rifles that they have at the moment. In addition they received sandbags since they needed to block off streets so they can set up their roadblocks to catch the enemy by surprise. He needed to check what LMGs that they received since he needed them for his men as well.

Opening the supply boxes that have the LMGs, Ghost checked what they received. They got a few different LMGs, the M249 SAW, M240B, MK46, MK48, and the LSAT. Ammunition for each LMG is already being dropped off from the convoy and for their assault rifles, and side arms.

Teams began to work on the defenses right away, they had to unload everything since more coveys are on their way to drop off more supplies for them. Progress started and they didn't have time to waste.

2 weeks later

September 22, 08:30 hrs

The defenses have been completed and with additional friendlies around, they had everything ready to go. Intel said that the militia were ready and coming at them with technicals and tons of hostiles. They wanted the town that the Task Force captured back very badly. Intel also says that they are only a few hours away now since they have prepared for this.

No time to rest at all, Ghost had his men on full alert ready to go for the militia's counter attack. Humphrey and a couple of other operatives were assigned on building using two LMGs watching the road.

Humphrey was bored but he couldn't let that affect him right now, the enemy is coming and they are going to fight so hard for the town. Things were still going to be quiet for at least a couple more hours or less.

10:00 hrs

Enemy forces were now close and are right at the town. Attack alarms were now going off at the town alerting all personal. The operatives were in their positions and ready to go.

Humphrey saw the hostiles and their vehicles mostly technicals that they have. Things were now going to get really serious now.

The enemy began to advance towards the town, but they were unaware of the defenses that they have placed. The technicals got closer and the gunners began to open fire on the operatives. Teams began to return fire at them and fired on the technicals.

Teams began to disable technicals using the deployed LMGs that they're using taken out their vehicles and hostiles that are on them. Humphrey and his group engaged hostiles as well, soon they got a call on their comms. "All teams be advised, militia have RPGs and machine guns as well, take them out as quick as you can."

Enemy militia had men with RPGs and machine guns trying to cause serious damage to their defenses, however the RPGs are not promising since the rocket is inaccurate. Humphrey and the other continued to engage hostiles and keeping them still at distance.

36 hours later

September 23

The battle is still going on and it has not stopped, enemy militia still continued to come at them and it was very bad right now. It's a big struggle for them right now, but they are still holding their position and keeping the enemy out of the town still. Only now they had to wait until night fall where things are going to settle down a bit for them. Humphrey along with the two operatives still taking out hostiles.

Ghost who can here the battle going on some blocks away was going through intel and received a contact from Russian Spetsnaz forces informing them that they are on route to their location, they're expected to arrive by tomorrow to assist them.

Ghost immediately contacted his men notify them that the Russians are on their way, they are to not engage them at all unless if it's a trick and they attack first.

The fighting continues on for the operatives that engage the hostiles that are coming towards them.

19:00hrs

Things right now were very quiet since it's dark outside, but the militia were still out their coming towards them, and they were using flares and trying to light their way, but it's a terrible move since the operatives can see them and pick them off quickly so they can't get close to the town, they had to hold out until tomorrow until friendly forces arrive. Humphrey right now was relived of his post for now to get some rest on a safe spot of the building.

60 hours into battle

September 24, 09:55hrs

The fighting continued on and it changed a bit, enemy militia breached two points and the operatives had to pull back to the next sector, they had to hold them off for bit more since reinforcements are coming. Militia were entering the town, but still were being slaughtered as they tried to get further in.

Close quarter fighting was something that the operatives are very experienced at. It allowed them to pick off the enemy fast and quick, to by a lot of time to hold off any further attacks that the hostiles are trying to do.

It wasn't long after as reinforcements arrived and push out the militia completely. Spetsnaz forces arrived and pushed back the hostiles out of the area. Ghost already out seeing these Russian forces assisting them.

The town has now been taken, but this was just the begging of their liberation of the enemy that still holds most of the country.

A UAZ arrived and with what appears to be the Colonel of this commanding unit that has arrived. Ghost arrived to meet with the one of the Spetsnaz CO. The Colonel spoke to Ghost. "Colonel Victor Petrov." Ghost responds. "Ghost, General and commanding officer of the special operations unit." They both saluted each other and shook hands.

Both began to talk to each other at a tent since it's very personal intel that cannot be said to the others at the moment. Intel reports from GRU has confirmed that five ex-spetsnaz soldiers are leading a rouge terrorist group assisting the militia in trying to take over Afghanistan. With their followers that the terrorist group have, they have to make sure no one is an enemy.

If what's true, then they have to make this alliance in order to end this war in the Middle East.

Soon afterwards, Ghost got his men with him and began to explain what they had to do with the Spetsnaz forces. This now became joint force operation. Ghost contacted Overlord notifying them of this new situation, and they sent the intel to them from GRU.

For now, they can rest up after such a long battle that they had against the militia. The Colonel told Ghost, that he is bringing in extra supplies of what they have and they are allowed to use them as well. With more supplies now, things were starting to pick up much more faster then before.

Humphrey now could see that a lot is going to happen is such a short time. He just didn't want to worry right now since they can get relax and get fresh new combat clothes on after fighting for over two days.

As the day progressed on, the operatives began to organize their equipment and other things right now and still reinforce the defenses as well. The town may be taken, but still their could be surprise attacks that can come from the enemy.

6 days later

September 30, 09:20 hrs

Humphrey along with Ghost and two operatives were in an armored Humvee following a UAZ that with four Russian Spetsnazs. At the moment they were handing North to an FOB which is the U.S Army's station that needed the intel that they got from the Spetsnaz.

They had to alert their allies since it's very critical that they give the intel to them. They need to be ready as well since they are fighting an enemy that they do not know of.

Once they learn of their attacks and what possible plans, they can commence their counter attacks on them, and expose those that are trying to pretend that they are friendlies. They arrived shortly afterwards, they met up with one of the Army Generals.

Arriving at the F.O.B the two vehicles entered the base as the gates were open for them. They stopped and got out of their vehicles as two soldiers walked up the them and greeted them. The team only had their sidearms and have on body armor.

Once entering one of the trailers, they met up with the General and began to talk to him and they gave him the Intel of what they have.

Soon afterwards they began to talk about their plans to take on the rouge Russians that are assisting the militia.

A few hours later, they began to talk about a joint force operation that the U.S forces needed help on. Orders on this operation are to capture 3 well defended strong hold on two major cities and one town that leads to the capital.

Just as they were about to finish the meeting, the base alarms go off which meant enemy forces are coming. The General lead them to the armory where they can gear up and help them out to stop the enemy attack.

Ghost and the others geared up and and they all selected the M4A1 Holograhpic. Soon they joined with the U.S troops that were taking positions and looking for the enemy. It wasn't until the UAV operator contacted them. "Osiris Actual, Black Crow 3 be advised hostiles forces are coming in from the North and North East. They have RPGs, machine guns and technicals coming right at you. Overlord is sending a Predator armed with AGMs to assist. ETA 4 minutes, hold them off. Out."

The squad leaders alerted their squad mates about air support and to stay inside the FOB and hold off the enemy attack. Every one now in position and focusing on the North and North East and they can see enemy militia coming at them. LMG gunners began fire at the hostiles and two gunners on the Mark 19 grenade launcher fire as well to take out the enemy technicals.

The militia began to open fire on them and they were firing everything they got at them, but were not even close to hitting them. The battle wasn't going to take them long to get done since Humphrey and the others have to return back with their squad members and explain to them.

Less then an hour later

The enemy attack has been stopped and the militia force had been destroyed, all hostiles were now dead and the Predator drone that assisted them has now left the area. With FOB safe for now. Ghost and the others have to leave immediately since they have to get back and notify their men on the plans that are coming up soon.

Ghost called his team to get back to their vehicles and they all boarded on. The two armored vehicles left the FOB to return to their men.

October 1, 08:30 hrs

After explaining to the men Ghost ordered two teams to assist him for supply pick up from a plane that is to drop more supplies for them just outside of the town for them to get.

Humphrey who is on patrol for now with two other operatives check the area making sure no hostiles were coming at them to try and sneak attack them. Things are quiet right now, just dry winds blowing through and the cold air coming in. At least all is well, but he knows that he has to go back out their to fight the enemy soon.

Just then he sees in the distance armor tanks coming towards them, it's the M1A2 Abrams Tanks coming. They were expecting the 3rd Armored Battalion to come by through the town to head towards their objective that was less then 10 miles from the town going East to enemy territory. Intel that they received are to capture a supply depot that has enough fuel, food, water, weapons and ammo that can restock the militia for years.

Only way to stop their supply line is to take the depot. Ghost wants to assist the armored battalion, but they have to prepare for an assignment for tonight. They got reports of a possible HVT that is to meet up with the rouge Russians for a meeting that is happening South of the town. They have very little know on what the security is, but the mission needs to be complete no matter what.

Humphrey finished his patrol and saw the next three operatives coming to relive them of duty so they can get some sleep.

As Humphrey returned to the building, he went to his room and began to check a letter that he got from Kate, he hasn't opened it yet since he got just three days ago. It's been hard, but he had to know what's going on right now. He opens the letter and begins to read what she sent him.

Less then 10 minutes later, he was on his bed relaxed after reading Kate's letter, she wants to know how he's been doing and how things are going. She explained to him that everything has been going well for her and that now she's working and have a great time with her family. She even said that she misses him a lot and cannot wait to see him soon, in mid December when he gets his two week pass.

Humphrey has been planning something for that month for some time now. It's been hard for him because he's not sure if she'll accept it. Only way to know is to ask her when he heads back to Canada soon. He gets up and closes the curtains on the two windows and returns to bed and shuts his eyes so he can get a well deserved sleep before tonights mission.

It's been a long time since I've uploaded, but I'm still here. My brother is in the reserves of the U.S Navy and might be going active soon, but doesn't now just yet. He allows me to use his Mac to write. This is the only upload that I can do until he gets back next week since he's leaving in the morning today. I won't give up no matter what, I always find a way. All my stories are going to be on hold until he's back. So enjoy what I have and I'll be back to write once again. Signing off.
