I still don't own digimon for the 102nd time.

Session 100

Back at the beginning

Odiaba.

For many, it had stood triumphantly as a shining beacon of the bonds between humans and digimon. Here, anything had seemed possible. Peace? Attained. Good relations with the other world? Absolutely. In a way, you could argue that this ward was a shining example of the good that can be in the world in the face of times of struggle and injustice. In a single day, all that work was torn away amid the frost and cold. By the end of it, the town and that particular world had been cast away by its own creators, the few survivors leaving before it all ended. Those that weren't as lucky, were left behind in this 'End'.

"Wonderful." Lily thought as her eyes shot open.

Currently, they were standing in what was once a park. A large amount of corpses had been scattered about, serving as an eternal reminder of all that had happened. A sky trapped just in between twilight and night hung overhead, illuminated by a crescent moon.

"Well, this is the place." Joey remarked and made a glance at the note from Despair High. "Now we just need find Shade's lab."

Lily let out a sigh, mumbling something to herself. Of the three, she was the only one with any clear connection to this place and even then, it was a questionable one at best.

"Is there something wrong?" Aaron inquired and knelt down to be at the korakawamon's eye level.

"Uh… No." Lily responded as Aaron continued to study her. "Why are you still looking at me?"

"Because you're freaked out and I want to at least be there for you." the mending detective explained. "That, and what kind of detective would I be if I couldn't read faces."

While they were doing that, Joey scanned the surrounding area.

Overall, the buildings had taken the least amount of damage out of everything here, having never been the target of any attacks. It was possible that those parties believed such acts of destruction would somehow result in their goals be put further out of reach. Or something along those lines.

"Are we certain this is it and not some prank?" the shadow scientist remarked and got a slap from Lily.

"No, this is the real deal." Lily muttered and let out a sigh. For the moment, she would have to bear with her memories and the events that had transpired all those years ago. "It hasn't changed a bit."

"Sorry. I forget that you were here for this mess." Joey remarked, following it up with a deep breath. "Anything that we should know?"

Lily closed her eyes, letting the memories of that particular day flood back in. They came in fragments. Some candy; A phone call, an offer; New weapons and a portal. But most of all, the absence of her. It was the sort of thing one would assume to result in a massive shift within in the story, resulting in something different happening. Yet, that was not the case for DAO3. Somehow, the people she was to travel with managed to figure out their own solution. Which was to just ignore the weird feeling that things weren't quite right and just go on with their days. Even if they had noticed her gone, the succubus doubted they had cared enough to acknowledge it after the realization.

She opened her eyes and let out a whimper.

"Are you alright?" Aaron remarked and knelt back down again. Joey did the same, possibly to get back into Lily's good graces again.

"No." Lily whispered, letting her gaze fall to the floor. "I want to be done with this as fast as possible."

"I'll agree with you there. I'm not sure what it is, but something about here feels… off."

The two turned to Joey, who just shrugged.

"Then let's find my foster's dad lab then." Joey announced and stood back up. "If it helps, I can give Lily a piggyback ride."

Lily gave the shadow scientist a confused glance, unsure why he thought the solution to her mood and past memories was riding on one of the boys backs. Even then, that still left the fact they were carrying a creature known for committing sexual acts on people. Which they wanted in a position that could result in all sorts of fun times depending on the person and the direction they went.

"Please stop."

Fine then.

"I'll pass on the piggyback ride." Lily explained and rolled her eyes. "I appreciate your offer though."

Joey and Aaron gave a nod and watched their teammate pull herself up. Afterwards, Lily made her way towards a cluster of bodies and stopped. There, she said a prayer and muttered something to herself. For some reason, this was also where the portal had been placed down.

"I'm guessing that we need to go through here?" Joey remarked as he and Aaron made their way over.

"Pretty much." Lily answered and turned her attention to the 'portal'. If it weren't for the image of a hallway currently being projected into the park, they probably wouldn't have given it much notice. It would just sit there and await use by someone. Even though people aren't supposed to be here.

"Boo hoo." Joey announced as he stepped on through. Aaron and Lily followed, with the trio finding themselves in the familiar interior of an order base. Personally, one has to wonder what was going through the architect's head when he saw the plans. Was it disatisfaction? Maybe it was sorrow? Or perhaps it was sheer pain. But what is known is that no record of the plans for any of the order bases ever actually existing. You would think someone as controlling as Julie Enoshima would have it kept in her personal safe, located in an unknown dimension known only to psychiatrist.

Of course, our heroes were currently looking on, waiting for the author to return from his tangent. Once they were absolutely that he had, they made their way down the stupidly long hallway.

It took them about an hour to walk down this one hallway. In that time, the trio debated the various uses of such a long corridor. Though, all they did was talk in circles until Aaron's phone went off.

So, the detective stopped and checked it, finding the image sent by Polly from two chapters.

"Lily, can I ask you another question?" Aaron remarked as his gaze focused on his succubus companion.

"Sure." Lily answered and Aaron showed her his phone screen. "Never heard of the guy. I'm guessing you have some sort of idea?"

"Kind of." Aaron remarked as he let out a deep breath. "The last name 'Motomiya' is not the most common in this mess, with the one or two that I do know about supposedly screwed things over."

Shadow Neko Strike!

Lily and Aaron turned around, finding a defensive Joey with his staff out.

"That's impossible!" the shadow scientist

Aaron infusion digivolve too… Elricmon!

Before the scan could even be completed, Lily hit both idiots with an arrow.

"I don't care what this matter is about, but knock it off." the succubus shouted and put her yumi down.

"Fine." both boys announced as the end of the hallway finally came into view.

The room they now found themselves in was a mess. More bodies had been scattered about, this time being those of Shade's vampire girl's along with some succubi.

Of course, in the center of it all, was a falling anvil that had been frozen in place. In its shadow, was a couple of hand placed notes.

Joey made his way over and picked up the top one.

Dear Joey,

If you're reading this, I'm long gone now. As you can probably see, this was one of my 'phases'. For some reason, I saw no problem in teaming up with the tanaka's and giving them access to my robotics in exchange for their knowledge in the body. It was a stupid trade that really didn't result in much in the long run.

Feel free to take any of my projects with you to fix up. Let it be my gift to you.

Joey took a deep breath and gazed about the room, eventually focusing on what appeared to be the exoskeleton of a female robot.

"You have all these choices and that's what you go with?" Lily remarked as she and Aaron looked onwards. "Though, a blank canvas could make for a good wife…"

Joey's face glowed a bright shade of red as Aaron and Lily let out a chuckle.

Afterwards, the duo made their way towards the floating anvil and looked over the other notes. Compared to the first one, the rest were documents related to the Tanaka's, which Aaron grabbed for Fatemon and made his way towards where the other portal awaited. Though in this case, it had been replaced with a door.

Joey and Lily followed as a feeling of unease came over them.

"I feel like we were supposed to have done something related to a 'Unity'." Joey remarked and gave a shrug. "Though I'm not sure why you would be my partner."

"Ditto."

They opened the door and headed through, finding their companions engaging in what appeared to be pin the tail on the wall. Except with spinning, for some reason.

"Okay then." Lily remarked as she and Aaron sat down on the couch. Joey deposited his pet project into the armored vehicle and then joined the rest of the group.

Notes:

Well, that was a ride. Also, thank you for your support. Without it, I doubt I would've made it half as far. So thanks.

Next Time: The true celebration.
