Session 113

An Endless Tale

The eyes of Elena Yuliana slowly slid open.

The interior of the armored vehicle faded into nothingness before her very eyes, giving way to a familiar black void. Alice Zwingli laid over her, slumbering peacefully on the wyvern's body. For this particular occasion, they were still dressed in their usual clothes. Had this been the dream world, they might've at least gotten something to wear. In the case of her wife, probably a regal gown that showed all her splendor and untapped beauty to the world. For her, she wasn't quite sure. Considering that the last visit to this place resulted in her original infusion form getting replaced with something else entirely, the sky was the limit.

Of course, there were far bigger things to focus on at the moment.

"Wakey, wakey." she whispered, carefully shaking her body to rouse her wife awake.

"Ugh…" Alice mumbled and pulled herself off, letting Elena switch back to her human form. "You know where we are?"

"Possibly." Elena answered and took a deep breath. "The Timekeeper's realm."

As she said it, laughter bounced about the area. The duo pulled their respective weapons out, choosing to stand back-to-back for the moment.

"So you've decided to return." a voice announced and a man walked up. For this occasion, he had gone for a stylish black suit with a flame pattern on the top. A head of spiky burgundy hair sat front and center, with a pair of goggles nestled within. Completing the look was a set of cold brown eyes. "And you brought a friend too. Wonderful."

Alice looked between her wife and the man, trying to find some sort of connection between the two. When such a search turned up nothing, her gaze returned to Elena.

"Do you want me to tell the story?" the timekeeper taunted and got a head shake from Elena.

"No." the gale corsair remarked and took a deep breath, making a glance towards her wife. "You're pissed at this whole broken pocketwatch thing."

Alice made a quick glance and shook her head.

"What are you?" she taunted and whispered something to Elena. In return, she got a remark of some sort. Of what exactly, I'm not entirely certain. "Twelve?"

"I am not twelve!" the timekeeper screamed and slammed a foot against the ground, making the whole area shake about. Which would be cool and maybe threatening, if someone from offscreen hadn't beaned the timekeeper.

"How rude!" their opponent announced and teleported away. A few seconds later, he returned much more worse for the wear. "Stupid future jester."

His gaze returned to the married duo, giving them a truly scowl.

"Then why are you being so petty about this then?"

Silence fell over the timekeeper, who decided that now was the best time to pull his dao broadswords out.

"Just die already, won't you?" he announced and dashed forward, swinging both his blades in their direction.

Gale Strike!

Alice sidestepped to the right, letting Elena knock the blades back with flurry of stabs from her kris.

Spiritflare!

A bullet shot out of Alice's left gun, passing right over the opponent's head. A 'shotgun blast' followed, bringing a swarm of butterfly to tear at the timekeeper.

"Ha!"

Of course, the timekeeper decided that he was above the rules and froze time. Well, he attempted too. It probably would've worked better if both Alice and Elena hadn't hit him mid-move.

"Boo."

The timekeeper charged forth once more, only to be met with a mix of bullets and slashes. There was no effort within their attacks, just sheer tiredness. To some extent, they probably prefered to have not be taking on another opponent, instead getting to relax somewhere tropical. Maybe just long enough to get some rest and enjoy their honeymoon.

That would have to wait, especially with the next round of attacks from their opponent resumed. So they did the natural thing in this sort of situation: switch forms and hope for the best.

Memory Spirits!

Lucky Shot!

Elena soared up into the air, scooping her wife up in the process. Once out of the line of sight, she launched forth a series of ghost-like birds. Then it was Alice's turn to shine. She chose to fan the hammer of her pistol, firing off each shot with a mix of accuracy and dumb luck. Yet, this was more than enough to pull on through.

The result was a series of small explosions, most of which seeming to land right at the timekeeper's feet for some reason. Though that could be him just giving up at that point.

"Nonsense!"

Then he pretended that he was Giganto for some reason and attempted a super jump. The result was less than pretty

"Shit." he thought and weighed his actions. Sure, he could attempt one more super move, but what was the point really? They still had far more energy in the tank he did at the moment. "Could you two like finish me or something? I'm fairly certain that I'm supposed to be dead and stuff."

Elena shot her wife a quick glance. In return, Alice gave a shrug.

"Sure."

Unity: Gale Revolver!

Energy surged through the two girl's bodies, with Elena taking full advantage of it with a stab, bringing forth a large tornado into the middle of the arena. She launched the timekeeper up into the air, giving Alice a nod afterward. This was her wife's cue to unload everything she had on the target. Which she did quite beautifully, I might add. Though, those were more of Elena's thoughts than my own.

When the dust finally settled, what had remained of their opponent was no more. Of course, that meant the bell had to ring some more. Fourteen times for some reason.

"Really? That's just complete overkill!" Julie announced to no one in particular. "But, you're not done yet."

Her comment seemed to catch both woman by surprise, right as the rest of their team appeared.

"There you are!" Lily shouted and ran over, giving Elena a jump hug. "It's been too long!"

Her comment seemed to add to the gale corsair's confusion, with her choosing to focus on her wife.

"Uh… Some weird time distortion?" Alice answered and took a deep breath. "I have no clue."

Before any of the others had a chance to speak or really emote, a large group of girls approached. Strangely, they were being led by a shadowy figure.

"This is a surprise." the figure remarked and pulled out a staff. "A welcome one, but it changes nothing."

All the girls flashed a card towards them. Bright light then engulfed them, bringing with it a cross between a possession and a magical girl transformation sequence.

"So that's how it works." Fatemon remarked, following it up with a deep breath. His wife shot him a quick glance, followed by a nod. "Oh well. Ready for a rematch you two?"

Polly and Chacha gave a nod, preparing themselves for the coming battle.

"Let me get this straight." Joey added and flicked his staff out. "We're fighting harem girls and their master?"

He got a glare from Polly, but ignored it for the moment.

"Pretty much," Gentleman responded as he served Issacmon a cup of tea. "Though, the correct term is probably 'students'."

"They look a little bit too old to be students."

Gentleman let out a chuckle, slipping Issacmon's teacup away and cleaning up any mess that the angel digimon made.

"You can never really know." Officer EMT countered. At the moment, the troll was going through the transformation sequence of Honchomon. Though, that didn't explain why Olrumon was standing on one of the ultimate's shoulders. Aaron sat beside him, crafting a large batch of something.

"It could be some weird temporal distortion." Aaron added and let his gaze focus in on Fatemon. "Or would that not be possible?"

"It's possible," Fatemon countered. "Just incredibly unlikely."

His gaze focused in on the crowd, possibly attempting to find one or two people.

"I'm guessing there are copies." he whispered and turned towards Chacha.

"Now what?" the gyroid muttered, watching Fatemon point someone out in the crowd. "Hey birdbrain!"

For some reason, this was what Adarnamon responded too. Not that I have any problem with it, just not the nicest thing to call a team member.

"Why do you even care?"

Chacha got no answer to her question. Even if she had, I doubt it would really change her attitude that much.

"What do you need?" Adarnamon inquired and Chacha whispered something. "Understood."

Adarnamon then soared up into the air while Lily watched on.

"You could've waited for me." the succubus mumbled and knelt down, only to jump up into the air. "Oh well."

Lily did eventually manage to join up with Adarnamon. But it took a couple attempts to do so. While she was doing that, Elena switched forms and allowed Alice to get on.

That just left Joey and Aaron, who switched to their infusion forms with little fuss.

"Sorry, Negi." Fatemon remarked and got a nod from the figure. "May the best group win."

And with that, the two groups charged headfirst.

Incense Burn!

Rainbow colored smoke filled the air, reminding the combatants of the journey taken and battles fought. Which seemed to boost both sides quite significantly.

"Crud." Lily whispered and fired an arrow off, not even taking the time to make sure it even hit. Which it had. If that helps somehow.

Shadow Flare!

A fireball shoot out of Joey's staff, clocking one of the less powerful goons on the head.

"Hey!"

Of course, that seemed to attract the attention of a small chunk of their opponents. So they did the natural thing that came to mind. A full-on bum rush.

"Thinking was never really their strong suit." Fatemon remarked, following it up with a chuckle. "What were you expecting from cheerleaders?"

"Shut up."

"It's true though!"

Their opponents then decided that throwing their pom-poms would make for a great idea.

Holy Bubbles!

A stream of bubbles shot out of Issacmon's mouth, slowing down the charge girls a tiny bit. This was also Joey and Gentleman's cue to charge forth and unleash their best attacks.

Shadow Neko Scratch!

Cleansing Flurry!

Joey slammed his staff down, bringing forth the claws of a great feline to bat his opponents up into the air. Following that, Gentleman managed to slice them apart. While that was happening, Chacha and Polly were taking on her counterparts.

Astral Perception!

Thankfully, a quick laser blast took care of that. Along with a bunch of the other less-interesting opponents.

"How dare you do that!" a woman announced, her labcoat doing little to hide her partially dressed state. "Especially to your mother, of all people!"

"Excuse me for a second."

With that, Chacha went off to slap her creator. While I doubt it was productive, she managed to defeat her creator's partner in the process.

"Okay…" Polly remarked and grabbed hold of her current opponent. "Sorry about that, me."

The other 'polly' rolled her eyes and cracked a smile. After, she took out some of her friends in the process. While this was effective, it did make Aaron and co. portion a bit difficult.

Boulder Song!

Olrumon's boulder whizzed past it's target, with being some one-winged girl carrying another girl. Judging by the way the girl was holding her passenger, they were a couple.

"Heathens, I shall slice you to pie-"

Table Flip!

You would be surprised by the amount of damage a table could do to someone. Especially when it managed to catch one's opponent by surprise.

"Oh shut up." the 'angel' muttered, only for her passenger to shake her head.

"Setsuna…" the girl remarked and gave the angel a slight tap, only for her attention to turn to her now fallen comrades. "You monsters!"

Aaron's attention shifted, finding it focused on Yokozamon and Consligmon respectively.

"You couldn't do it any more subtle?" the detective joked as he flung a vial towards his opponent, managing to hit a ghost in the process. Sadly, he got no response, since a girl with a giant sword decided to knock him to the floor.

"I was told this was to be a challenge." the girl announced and snickered. "This is nothing. I've fought Chupacabra stron-"

Before she had a real chance to really boast, a kris made its way into her back.
"That was truly a dirty move." Alice remarked and cracked a smile. "I'm guessing some of my influence rubbing off on you."

Elena let out a giggle and took a deep breath.

"Personally, I would say it's the other way around." the gale corsair remarked, letting her gaze turn towards Adarnamon. At the moment, what remained of their opponents were currently trying to reach the opponent. But, a whirlwind or two made quick work of them. That just left the figure who brought these people here to begin with.

"Stay behind me." Fatemon remarked and unbuttoned his cloak. "I can't guarantee that what happens next will end in our favor or result in any good."

He tossed his cloak to the side, revealing the body of a man in his mid twenties. While his skin looked withered and dry, the mega seemed even more power than normal.

"Let's finish this."

The two men slowly approached, bringing forth an outline around their bodies as they reached each other. Blow for blow the two went, never letting the other get in a dirty trick or unfair move. Of course, that didn't them from littering the arena with pillars and balls of energy. But eventually, a winner was decided. Sure, one could argue that the verdict didn't matter now. But to the duo, that was alright.

"I wish you the best, Fate." the figure remarked and turned around.

"You too, Protag." Fatemon answered back and picked his cloak up, fitting it back on. "Well, that was fun."

He got a bunch of nods in return, only to be teleported away. The others were treated to a similar fate, until just Alice and Elena remained.

"Okay…" Elena whispered and took another deep breath. "Now what?"

Almost to mock them, the floor broke away and left them to freefall. So, the gale corsair switched to her infusion form and allowed her wife to get back on.

"Ready?" she whispered, getting a nod in return.

With that, they glided down to their next destination. Maybe in the future, will found out where that might be. Probably, it will be another digital adventure...

Online.

Notes:

This is pretty much just an excuse to do two more fights that I wanted to do during the main story. This is canon, but it's complicated.

Also, the pun at the end was because I could. It just sounded funny.
