Chapter 5 - First Meeting

After names were swapped and people were met, Aizawa was awakened from his nap. He was awakened by Tenya Iida, a male student who had blue hair and wore glasses, and was also very strict when it came to rules. He also had announced himself to the new arrivals as the class representative for Class 1-A, a title which he seemed to carry proudly (or take to seriously).

As said before, Aizawa was awaken by Iida. When the other students saw him awakening, they took to their desks, and the exchange students filed to the side of Aizawa's desk to hear what he had to said. Aizawa then got up, unzipped his sleeping bag, climbed out of it, and began speaking. He said, "Alright, I see that you've all had the chance to get to know each other. Now for our announcements before we end class: First, Class 1-A has some new arrivals, of which you have already met. They hail from Justice High, and are here because of recommendations. Just like you, they want to become heroes, so let's hope that you can all get along with each other. Second, tomorrow's exercise for the Hero Course will be a hostage crisis exercise. And, so they're not left out, our new arrivals will be joining us. Third and final, expect a pop quiz tomorrow morning. That'll be all, get out of my classroom."

Some of the students groaned when they heard a pop quiz, and they all began exiting the classroom. As for the new arrivals, they stayed to speak with Aizawa, who was filing class papers and noticed them still in the room.

"You all want something?" Aizawa asked.

"Yeah, um…" Matthew replied. "Mr. Aizawa, we sent out our hero costumes with our personal belongings. So, we won't have anything to wear for training tomorrow."

"Just wear your gym uniforms for the time being and you'll be fine."

"Okay, thank you sir."

After Matthew said this, he and the rest of the American students left the classroom, leaving Aizawa behind to file the class papers and correct them.

As the six were exiting the Classroom, they heard a rather smug voice call out, "I didn't know that Class 1-A was extended by six people. Did they have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find you?"

The group turned and looked to see the owner of the voice: a boy with slicked blonde hair and a prideful smirk on his face.

"You want to run that question by us again?" Joshua asked, his tone sounding ticked.

"I'm just saying, I guess it makes it easy for Class 1-A to get attention when they're letting six Americans into their class."

"What's your problem, dude?" Murdock asked this time. "We didn't do anything to you."

"You did when you joined Class 1-A." The blonde haired boy continued, the smirk still on his face, yet his voice filled with disdain. "Class 1-A has to go and get misfits, and even more worse, foreigners, to make themselves look good. You people are not special; you're only here cause Class 1-A is desperate. Well, I guess we'll just have to squash them like the desperate insects they are by beating all of you. Just you wait, I'll-"

Suddenly, somebody smacked the kid over the head, and slumped to the ground, somewhat unconscious. In his place stood a girl with long, ginger-colored hair and teal eyes.

"Sorry about that." The girl spoke politely, a kind smile on her face. "He doesn't like Class 1-A very much, and tends to make fun of them any chance he gets."

"I can see that." Joshua growled, stepping forth like he was ready for a fight.

"Joshua, easy…" Matthew spoke, putting his hand out to block him from advancing. He then said, "If you don't mind me asking, what class are you two in?"

"We're in Class 1-B." The girl replied. "We're kind of like Class 1-A, only we're not as popular as they are. Hence the reason my classmate here likes to make fun of anything having to do with them."

"That's too bad." Matthew said apologetically. "Everybody deserves the spotlight at least once. Considering you're all trying to become heroes too, you guys deserve to get notice."

The girl was taken aback by Matthew's words, almost like nobody ever told her that before. She then said in a kind tone, "Thank you; that's very kind of you to say."

"You're welcome… uh, what's your name?"

"Itsuka Kendo. And the loudmouth here is Neito Monoma."

"Pleased to meet you." Matthew replied, extending his hand for her to shake. "I'm Matthew, Matthew Noble. This is Joshua, Sunshine, Milo, Annabelle, and Murdock."

"Nice to meet you." Kendo replied. "Well, we better get going. It was nice meeting you all!"

"Likewise. We'll see you around."

Kendo nodded in reply and walked off, dragging Monoma along with her by his shirt collar. Afterwards, the six began walking down the halls of U.A, their plan to join their fellow classmates in walking back to their dorms.

The walk back with Class 1-A was pleasant and rather restful to the new arrivals. After the long day of flying in a plane, and then having to fight robots, it was nice to have some company to talk with. Each of the new arrivals had their own group to talk with.

Matthew stuck with Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida, all of whom he found out were close friends with each other. He got to know and talk with them, telling about where he came from. However, when they asked about his quirk, he just told them to guess. To which, Midoriya began muttering to himself about what Matthew's quirk might be (not knowing that Matthew was actually quirkless). Also, every now and then, Matthew would glance over and see Bakugo, who was walking with Kirishima and Sero, staring at him in silent anger, almost like he was trying to figure out something about him.

Murdock decided to walk with Tokoyami, a classmate who had a bird head and was completely serious, for a while. He seemed to take his seriousness as a challenge, and began telling Tokoyami bird puns and jokes, in an effort to try and get him to laugh. It didn't work, so Murdock moved over to try joking with Todoroki, a student with white and red hair, and who had the power to create ice and fire. When that didn't work, he went over to walk with Kaminari and Mineta, a smaller student who had the power to pull sticky, grape-like balls of his head.

Sunshine and Annabelle walked with the some of the in their group, such as Asui, Yaoyaorozu, and Hagakure, a girl who was completely invisible. They talked and discussed their quirks with each other, and ask questions about what their respective schools were like.

Milo walked with Ashido, both talking about their quirks and about their personal hobbies. Due to his laid back attitude and how kind he was acting towards her, Ashido was starting to like Milo. The same could be said for Milo, as he thought Ashido was adorable, being all pink and having a cheerful and bubbly personality.

Joshua walked alone, as he didn't want to fit into a particular group. In his own opinion, he never did fit into a group. And as said before, he felt that having friends only got in the way of what he wanted, so he didn't bother to put himself out for making friends with anybody. However, he did keep his eye on Jiro, as she walked and listened to her MP3 player. He was thinking about what kind of music she was listening to, and wondered if they had something in common with each other when it came to music. However, whenever she looked up from listening to her music, he made sure to turn his head to make it look like that she didn't see him looking at her. And then he would shake his thoughts from his head, reminding himself that he didn't need anybody.

All in all, the new arrivals were integrating themselves pretty well into Class 1-A. And that's exactly what Joshua wanted, as he had his own agenda to be completed.

The afternoon turned to night, and Class 1-A, plus the new arrivals, were in their dorms rooms, fast asleep. Joshua was also asleep as well, until a buzzing on his phone woke him up. He then reached for his phone on the nightstand and looked at it. The time read '1:00 AM', and on the screen was a text message from the same unlisted number as before. The text read:

THE DECISION HAS BEEN MADE; YOU WILL MEET IN PERSON TONIGHT. HEAD TO TATOOIN STATION AND GO INTO AN ALLEYWAY. YOU WILL MEET A MAN THERE, AND YOU MUST SAY "A STUDENT OF U.A HAS COMMITTED TREASON", TO WHICH HE WILL REPLY WILL BE "FOR BECOMING A HERO, THERE IS NO REAL REASON". HE WILL BE THE ONE WHO YOU ARE TO REPORT TO.

Joshua texted back:

UNDERSTOOD. ON MY WAY.

After Joshua texted the message, he got out of bed, got dressed in his street clothing, put his phone and wallet in his pockets, and quietly opened the door to his dorm room. He then closed it quietly, and slowly made his way down the stairs. He went down the stairs to the common area, went to the doors, and went out of the building. He then made it to the gates of Heights Alliance, which he opened and closed quickly. However, he heard footsteps coming and dove behind some shrubbery to hide. The footsteps he heard was Aizawa and another hero with grey hair, wearing a red and black suit with silver braces and boots. They were both talking with each other while walking, and they weren't exactly paying attention to their guard duty. After they went around the corner of the wall that the gates were a part of, Joshua climbed out from behind the shrubbery and began running down the street.

After about about fifteen minutes of running, Joshua made it to 'TATOOIN STATION', which was a train station on an overpass that crossed over a street. He then went into a dark alleyway, where he was going to wait for his informant to show up. After about five minutes of waiting, footsteps were heard, and Joshua turned to see a man coming down the alleyway.

The man was of Japanese descent, and he had black hair, a black goatee, grey eyes, and pale skin. The clothing he wore was a black bandanna around his forehead, a white t-shirt, a black short sleeved jacket, black fingerless gloves, black pants, and black sneakers with black laces.

After the man came up to him, Joshua said, "A student of U.A has committed treason."

The man replied back, "For becoming a hero, there is no real reason."

"You're the one I'm reporting to?" Joshua asked.

"I am." replied the man, his tone of voice efficient sounding. "The name's Daisuke Haruki, but you can call me 'Stonefish'."

"Stonefish. I'm guessing your name has something to do with your quirk?"

"Yes. I can eject sharp, needle-like spines from my arms, legs, and back. They carry a toxin that will not only paralyze whoever get stung by them, but it also makes the victim hallucinate. However, it doesn't last forever, mainly five to twenty minutes, depending how deep the person gets punctured."

"Well, that's cheerful." Joshua spoke, his tone sarcastic.

"So you're the son of Death Wish?"

"Yes. Joshua Rourke, at your service."

"It must've been weird to have to put your own father, one of the most wanted villains in America, in prison."

"Actually, he went along with it. As a matter of fact, we had it all planned out; We have a fight, make it look like I'm being a hero, have him get captured, I get the credit and a ticket to U.A, he escapes from the police when they're toting him to prison, and the plan works out perfectly."

"Sounds like you have it all together. But let's get down to brass tacks, or business as most people would say it; have you made it to Class 1-A?"

"Yes." Joshua replied. "The teacher's some hero called 'Eraser Head', and he's a real louse. Class 1-A's pretty nice, though one of them, some blonde kid, has a real bad attitude. The dude would be perfect as a villain, if he wasn't in a class for heroes."

"That would be Katsuki Bakugo." said Stonefish. "He was actually a candidate for becoming a villain, but he's too loyal to the heroes. However, where he failed, you shall succeed. When all is said and done, you and your father shall be the newest members to our cause."

"Good." said Joshua, an evil grin on his face. "I know my father will be most happy with this news; he's been wanting to be a part of this group ever since he heard about you guys."

"Nice. Now back to business; what else have you found out about Class 1-A that we should be aware of?"

"I know that there's twenty students, six girls and fourteen boys. I haven't had a chance to see their powers in action, but I will be doing that tomorrow, as they're holding an exercise that has something do with a hostage crisis. Also, the teachers patrol around the dorms where the students stay, so chances of trying to get in there without proper authorization are out of the question."

"How about your 'fellow' Americans?" asked Stonefish. "What have you learned about them?"

"One is quirkless, but he's pretty headstrong." Joshua replied. "One has a slime quirk, one has a quirk that allows him to stretch his limbs, one has a quirk that allows her to produce light, one has a power that allows her to lift objects, and, of course, you already know what I have."

"Assault, which you inherited from your father. Quite the powerful quirk, I might add."

"If not one of the most dangerous; If I don't keep it under control, I become both a threat to my allies and enemies alike. It's kind of like a gun that doesn't stop shooting, if you think about it."

"Well, when that gun goes off, let's point in the direction of U.A." Stonefish replied, his own evil grin on his face. "Okay, that'll be all for now. I'll report your findings to my boss, and you head back to U.A; last thing we want is for this whole operation to get blown."

"Right; I'll be on my way. It was nice meeting you, stonefish."

"Same to you, Death Wish II."

Joshua smirked at the nickname, and then went on his way, while Stonefish disappeared back down the alleyway. As Joshua jogged back to U.A, his mind pondered the events that had been happening, and how everything had led up to this moment.

Joshua was not 'Joshua Graham', like the students of U.A and Justice High thought he was. Actually, he was 'Joshua Rourke', the son of the American villain, Death Wish. He was born and groomed for the sole purpose of becoming a villain, and he was at U.A on a special assignment: to find out the weaknesses for Class 1-A, whom the villains saw as a great threat, and to find a way to destroy them. The plan was put into action a few months ago, when word of U.A letting in students from America came into the light. Joshua was sent to Justice High as a transfer student, and then a fight between him and his father was staged to make it look like Joshua was being a hero. After that, it was just the matter of passing the American U.A Recommendation Exam, to which he did, thanks to his status of 'defeating' Death Wish. And since he passed, he went to U.A with the other five students, and now here he was, working the assignment with the intention of destroying Class 1-A.

Considering the fact that he was going to be sharing living space with his classmates, he had to make sure that he didn't get attached to them, as his feelings could get in the way of the mission. Not to mention the fact that most villains didn't have feelings for others; that was one of the lessons that his father taught him, and it was a rather painful lesson to learn.

Still, he ended up getting that funny feeling in the pit of his stomach when his mind focused on that girl from Class 1-A, Kyoka Jiro. He never felt that feeling before, where he felt a good kind of nervous. In some way, he wanted to hold on to that feeling, but his memories of being told not to do that were making him fight it. It was so strange to him to feel this, as he never had to deal with emotions.

As he made it back to Heights Alliance and went through the gate, Joshua shook the thoughts from his head; he was tired, and needed some sleep after the meeting. He would mull over his thoughts tomorrow during class, and try to see if he could control the newfound feelings that he was now receiving. He then went through the doors, through the main area, up the stairs, and to his dorm room. He then opened the door, closed it behind him, and locked it. Afterwards, he began to undress, climbed into bed, and fell asleep quickly. The night went on…
