A/N: And so it begins... or continues, after a very long time. So I would just like to apologize for any fans that wanted to see more with my work and curious to know why I've been gone. I just don't have the time or energy to write these days, except when it's 4 A.M and I'm visiting my mother's apartment and using her laptop, regardless, this will be a bit brief but bare with me as I haven't even written my own name, let alone a full chapter. So here's an real life AU based off real events from my life, but altered a bit. Where Jaune and Ruby are the same age too. No grimm

When the young pair had met for the first time at their first year of middle school at Beacon, it wasn't a long living moment but a start.

"Hey can I borrow a pencil?" The blonde boy asked.

"Sure here." little Rose said.

"Thanks."

And as a simple request was being made, they turned to face each other for a moment, and had made eye-contact. It wasn't anything special, as the two only saw the orbs in front of them for a split second and didn't observe a lot, but it could have been the base of feelings yet to come. As the small eye-contact was kind of weird for two people just getting over puberty. But they continued on with class.

Of course such a small moment for two youngsters won't exactly lead to the begging of a great fulfilling relationship, but within time, the best things can come to be.

As middle school went on, these two characters would grown with friends, though they were anti-social in a sense, and kind of dull. They found themselves luck to find the most kind hearted individuals at their age. Ruby had the advantage though, as her sister was very socially active. These two groups would also collide together when Ruby's sister had met Jaune's friend similar to Yang, Nora. Causing everyone to meet and get to know one another, eating at lunch and talking in class had become a regular because of this. As unexplained as it may sound, Ruby really felt comfortable with Jaune, she and him related easily and bonded more, seeing how they had more classes with each other.

"It just doesn't make a lotta sense to me" Jaune told Ruby one day in class.

"I just think you're overthinking it, it doesn't really matter that much" She replied.

"I know I'm not alone when I say it, most people don't realize how big a deal it is."

"... You're the only one making a big deal about the fact that there are two different king Neptunes in Sponegebob." She said confused why'd he be worried about such a thing.

"You sound like my family, I know it's a cartoon but I still need the answers! Is the movie canon? Are they the same guy? Why haven't we seen the movie Neptune again?" He went on.

Ruby sighed. "You're dumb Jaune"

"Hey! Friends don't call friends dumb!" he said sounding annoyed

She smiled at his silliness. "It's okay, you might say dumb things, but you're still a friend and I like you right?"

He blushed at her cute smile. Jaune wouldn't say it to anyone else but he found the hooded girl very cute, out of Pyrrah or Nora Ruby made his heart flutter. He didn't know what was up, but he kind of like how she made him was a weird feeling, but good weird. He also observed how she said she liked him, although in a friendly way, it's what really made his face red. 'Hopefully she doesn't notice.' he thought.

"Yeah, we are friends. and I also like you..." He whispered that last part.

"What?"

"Nothing!"

Too fast forward a bit into their lives, they were in the last middle school year, where so much has transpired between the small group of friends. They had matured, gotten smarter, met four new friends, Ruby's friend Blake met a boy named Adam she liked, Weiss and Neptune started dating, and although Jaune never told anyone, he finally had a little realization of his own. He was in love with Ruby Rose

He had no idea where or when it all started, but he grew up, learned what love was, how partners behave, and new what he was feeling when he was with Ruby most of the time. His only question was. What was he going to do about his situation? Well for starters, he wasn't going to go head first and tell her everything, that might creep her out and piss off Yang. He felt creepy being like this, blushing every time she looked at him, always wanting to sit next to her or be her partner in class or make her laugh so he can see her smile again and again. It became more than a crush, it was full love, and he couldn't contain himself.

So he tried to compose himself one day before school, and made a plan for himself. He wasn't going to tell anyone or Ruby about his feelings seeing how everybody just stayed friends and he didn't want to ruin it. He also knew that he can't force her to just love him because he wants to. If she returns the same feelings, then and only then, will Jaune ask her out.

He established all these rules for himself to make sure he doesn't mess up his chances with Ruby, but while thinking all this, Ruby came up to him at his locker.

"Hey Jaune, what's up?" She asked with a happy smile. And this of course, made his face flush, he looked away, and his knees got a bit weaker.

'This is going to be hard' he thought.
