Chapter 9: Back to Normal?
"My mom's going to love you," Naraku says as he locks his car door.
"But what about your dad?" Jakotsu asks.
"Well he knows I'm gay," Naraku nervously says as they walk up the stairs to his parents' house. "He won't do anything rude. My mom's here."
"Great," Jakotsu sarcastically mumbles as his boyfriend of almost a year unlocks the door to his parents' house.
"I'm home!"
"In the dining room, dear!"
Naraku gives his boyfriend a reassuring smile before guiding them towards the dining room. They walk into the well decorated dining room to see Korari Higurashi lighting candles while Kagome sets the table. Sota is sitting at the table, eating bread.
"Hi."
"Na-Na! I'm so happy you're here!" Korari shouts as she rushes towards her first born and wraps her arms around him. She gives him a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek, before turning towards his boyfriend. "And you brought a guest."
"Yeah," Naraku says as he awkwardly scratches the back of his head. "This is actually my boyfriend, Jakotsu."
"Boyfriend?"
Naraku and Jakotsu jump as Makoto echoes what his younger children had said also. Naraku and Jakotsu turn around to see Makoto Higurashi standing in the door way.
"Hey dad."
"Boyfriend?" Makoto questions with a raised brow and a cross of the arms.
"Yeah," he responds nervously as he looks at his father.
"Hi Mr. Higurashi," Jakotsu says while giving the older man a small bow. He holds out his handing, waiting for a handshake.
Makoto continues to stare at the boy in question with a hard look in his eyes.
"Well I think he's just the most adorable little thing," Korari says as she grasps Jakotsu's hand. "Korari Higurashi. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Jakotsu smiles at her and nods while shaking her hand. "Jakotsu Shichi."
Jakotsu smiles at the memory. "Such a great time. Wish I could go back to those days." He sighs and blows his overgrown bangs out of his face. This had been his second day without food, luckily though, they had provided him with water and a place to relieve himself every once and a while. "One day. One day, I'll prove to you, Naraku, that I'm not a bad person."

The Next Day
With Sota and Naraku
"Did you discover anything else? General Higurashi wants an update," Naraku mockingly says as he hands his younger brother a cup of coffee. Sota snorts before setting the coffee cup to the side as he continues to look through the images on the computer.
"Not yet. However, I did notice that there was a truck in front of the church before the fire started," Sota tells him.
"I see," Naraku mumbles as he leans back in his seat. "Do you think it was an attacked from the Band of Seven?"
Sota turns to face his brother with a serious look. "It could be them. However, we haven't heard from them in a while. We still don't know their motive."
"You forget we have one of them in holding."
"Do you think it's safe to talk to Jak- "
"It's fine," Naraku snaps.
Sota gives him a look but nods before turning back to the computer in front of him. "I'll continue looking."
"Sot-"
"I know Jakotsu's a touchy subject for you. I just want you to be careful. I don't want you to get hurt again."
"I won't," Naraku tells him as he ruffles his hair. "I'll be back in a few, I have to make some calls."
Sota sighs as he watches his older brother walk out the room. "Be careful, brother."

With Kagome and Inuyasha
"Everything will be fine," Inuyasha says as he runs his fingers through Kagome's hair. "Once we get that perfect bill of health, we can go home."
"Mmm, home," Kagome sleepy mumbles while closing her eyes and going to sleep. Inuyasha gives her a kiss on the head, before letting the nurses push her out the room. They we're doing a final check up on her; they wanted to make sure her lungs and the babies weren't affected by the smoke. They also wanted to make sure she didn't have any more bleeding from the blow she suffered from the back of her head. They were still an investigation on how she got it.
Korari and Makoto had to deal with some "business" earlier that morning. Sango had Kazushi, she was taking him to get some breakfast.
Inuyasha sighs as he takes a seat in the chair next to where Kagome's bed was once at. He runs his hands down his face before leaning back in his seat.
"Thank Kami everything and everyone is okay."
He closes his eyes as his mind starts to wonder.
"He's so small," Kagome whispers as she stares at the small infant sleeping in his Winnie the Pooh theme crib. The light pink baby continues to sleep as his parents stare down at him.
"He is."
"He's perfect."
"He is."
Kagome smiles as she looks at her husband. "We created this amazing person."
"We did. He's going to be such a mama's boy," Inuyasha teases causing Kagome to laugh but nod.
"I hope he is. I'm going to love him forever," Kagome declares with a serious but sincere tone in her voice. Inuyasha chuckles but silently agrees with his wife.
'I'm going to protect, love, and take care of you and your mama,' Inuyasha thinks with a grin as he places a hand on the baby torso. Kagome lets out a piece sigh as she leans into her husband's shoulder and stares at their baby. Even though he is seven months, he is still small for his age.
'I promise buddy.'

Thirty Minutes Later
With Sango and Kazushi
"Aunt Sango," Kazushi calls out as they walk down the hallway, hand in hand.
"Yeah?"
"When do you think mommy will get better?"
"Soon. She's strong," Sango states as she looks down at him. "Just like you."
"Really? Yay!"
Sango chuckles as she looks down at her nephew. They didn't notice Inuyasha standing in the middle of the hall.
"You guys back so soon?" Inuyasha asks as he spots the duo.
Kazushi automatically rushes towards his father and jumps into his arms. "Daddy! Daddy!"
"What?"
"Aunt Sango said I'm strong. And mommy strong too."
"Really?" Inuyasha asks in fake surprise as he turns around and walks into Kagome's empty room; Sango follows.
"Yup!"
"Surprisingly, they had a lot of food in the cafeteria," Sango says as they walk towards the table and chair in the corner in the room.
Inuyasha nods as he gets his son situated at the table. "After lunch, you're going to go and play with Grandma Rari and Grandpa Koto. Sounds fun, right?"
"Yay!"
Inuyasha chuckles as he runs his hands through his sons' hair.
"How are you holding up?" Sango asks once Inuyasha made sure his son was distracted by food.
"What do you mean?" He asks with a raised brow.
"Well, I heard that someone knocked Kagome out before the fire started."
Inuyasha growls as he runs his hands through his hair and leans his back against the wall behind him. "When I catch that bastard. There will be hell to pay."
"Can you think of anyone who would do that? Especially burn down a church while people are it."
"No, but I'm sure Naraku and Sota will find out who did this," Inuyasha states before leaning off the wall and walking towards the small nightstand to turn on the tv.
Sango worriedly looks at her friend before sighing and walking to where Kazushi is eating his breakfast. 'The truth will come to the light, real soon, Yash.'

With Bankotsu
"You stupid mongrel!"
Slam!
"Chill Bankotsu," Suikotsu says as he places a hand on his younger brother's chest. Bankotsu snatches his chest away from his older brother and glares at him.
"Chill?! You want me to fucking chill?! They're aware of us now, Suikotsu! They fucking know that the fire wasn't an accident. And they knock Kagome was knocked out before the fire event started. All because this idiot couldn't successful complete one simple job," Bankotsu snaps before kicking the beaten up Renkotsu. Suikotsu winces as he hears a snap.
"Look!" Suikotsu snaps as he pushes Bankotsu away from Renkotsu. As he does that, Ginkotsu and Kyokotsu quickly help the beaten and bloody Renkotsu stand up and slowly walk him out of the room to get treated for the bruises on his face, the broken noise, and the numerous broken ribs.
"They don't know anything," Suikotsu tells the pissed off Bankotsu.
"They know enough. They know it wasn't any accident and they know that Kagome was knocked out," Bankotsu snaps before walking towards his desk. "Kami! Why does it take this long to capture one girl?"
"Patience brother," Suikotsu states as Bankotsu takes a seat at his desk. "Everything will fall into place in due time. Just be patient."
"Hmm."
Suikotsu nods before walking out the room as Bankotsu starts looking over some papers in a manila folder. Bankotsu sighs as he runs his hands over his face. He need to call their boss and tell him what happen.
Suikotsu leaves the underground compound and drives until he's at least fifteen miles away. He drives his car into a wooden area and parks it there. He looks around, before pulling out a dark blue flip phone and pressing a number. He waits a minute before someone picks up.
"Hello?" A male's voice asks.
"He's pissed."
"I bet, things didn't go accordingly to his plans."
"He hasn't stated what our next moves are," Suikotsu tells him.
"I see. Keep me updated."
Suikotsu hesitates, causing the man on the other end to sigh before speaking. "Is there anything else."
"Can I see him?"
"You already know the answer."
"Is he still alive?"
"Yes. He's breathing and talking."
"Good."
"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm busy."
"Naraku, why can't you just let Jakotsu go. You know he didn't wan- "
"Bye Suikotsu."
"Dammit," Suikotsu swears as the call ends. He throws his phone in the passengers' seat before leaning back and looking at the ceiling of his car. "Why is life so fucking hard?"

Twenty Minutes Later
With Inuyasha
"Hey San, I have to go pick up Kagome's medicine. Can you stay here and watch over Kazushi?" Inuyasha says as he walks into the room, after talking to Kagome's doctor. They gave her a perfect bill of health; she could leave the hospital tomorrow.
"Yeah, no problem."
"Be good for Aunt Sango, okay?" Inuyasha tells Kazushi as he shoves food in his mouth. With puffy cheeks, Kazushi nods before shoving more food in his mouth. Inuyasha ruffles his hair, before walking out the room.
"Taking care of a kid can't be that hard, right?" Sango mumbles to herself as she looks down at her nephew. "Hopefully not."

At the Takahashi Household
"Ambassador Higurashi, our report says you were at the hospital all night? What happened?"
"Was it your sons, General?"
"What happen to your daughter, Ambassador?"
"General Higurashi! Where has your daughter been all this time?"
Makoto Higurashi holds up his hand, signaling for everyone to be quiet. He moves back from the podium to allow his wife to speak. Korari gives him a small smile before looking at the crowd of people.
"As you all know, we are the parents of three children. Our sons, Sergeant Naraku and Sota Higurashi are under the supervision of their father, General Makoto Higurashi. However, our youngest child, she is not involved in the government. Her name is Kagome Higurashi. For nearly five years, she has been in America. She is currently a professional model, and I couldn't be prouder of her," Korari states with a smile. The reporters lightly chuckle as they write down this information. "Before everyone goes and tries to look her up, she was under an alias name. But I bet it won't take long for you guys to find out who she is," Korari states. She pauses before continuing. "Currently, she is married to Inuyasha Takahashi, resulting in our first grandson and future grandchildren."
There's shuffling in the room as reporters gather the information. The press was going to have a field day tomorrow from today's press conference.
"Yesterday, Kagome and a few other individuals were involved in a church fire. She is fine. She and everyone involved in the situation are safe. Now, are there any questions?"
Before she could finish saying 'questions', people were already raising their hands or shouting out their request.
"General Higurashi, how do you feel about your daughter being married to one of the famous Takahashi?"
"Why did your daughter stay in America for such a long time?"
"What's your grandson's name?"
"General Higurashi, is your daughter still recovering?"
"Ambassador Higurashi, how long will your daughter and family be staying in Tokyo?"
"The press are such vouchers," Izayoi states as she mutes the tv.
"I bet a lot of press are going to be at the hospital," Ayame states as she bites into her egg, bacon, and French toast sandwich.
"Probably," Izayoi states as her phone starts ringing. "Hello?"
Ayame sits at the island and watches Izayoi's expression turn from serious to shock. "Really?"
Ayame shrugs it off as Izayoi quickly walks out the kitchen. As she walks out, Koga walks in.
"Hey."
"Hey," Ayame states after swallow the food in her mouth.
"How you are feeling?" He asks as he stops in front of her.
"Good. A little sore and shaken up, but I'm good," Ayame states with a smile. Koga nods as he continues to stare at her with worried eyes. Ayame's eyes widen in shock as he places a hand on her cheek.
"I was worried."
"Don't be."
Koga sighs as he rubs her cheek. "I don't know what I would have done if I found out that you weren't okay."
"Ko- "
"Hey Ayame, have you seen," Rin starts to say as she walks into the kitchen but pauses as she spots the duo. "Sorry, am I interrupting something?"
"No," Ayame states as she takes her faces out of Koga's hand and grabs her empty dish. "I'm going to go lay down."
Rin and Koga watch as Ayame puts her dish in the sink before walking out the room. Koga turns to face Rin who gives him a look. "What?"
"Don't play with her feelings," Rin tells him with a serious tone and look. "I mean it."
"I'm not," Koga says as he walks towards the refrigerator.
Rin shakes her head before turning around. "Tell everyone that I went to the hospital, Sango needs my help looking after Kazushi."
"Alright, Captain."
"Remember what I said, Koga."
"Already forgot," he responds with a grin. Rin rolls her eyes as she starts her journey out the room.
"Men."

.
Two Hours Later
"Sorry I took longer than I said, Sango. The press was outside, so I had to sneak in from the back then I got a call from my office and-" Inuyasha says as he walks into Kagome's hospital room but stops talking after spotting Rin playing with his son on the floor. "Where's Sango?"
"She asked me to help her with Kazushi," Rin states with a dry look.
"Basically, she left you to look after Kazushi," Inuyasha explains with a chuckle as he sets the white bag on the counter next to the door.
Rin shakes her head but cracks a smile. "I don't know why you even left Kazushi in Sango's care, you know she isn't good with kids. But it's cool. This gives me practice for when Sesshy and I have some little mini mes," she teases as she playful grabs Kazushi's nose.
"It was worth a shot," Inuyasha states with a shrug before walking towards his sleeping wife. "When did they bring her back?"
"An hour ago. They said she should wake up in the next half hour or so," Rin states as she hands Kazushi his toy car. "Izzy told me to tell you that she's having dinner tonight at Sujin's and to invite Kagome's parents."
"Keh."
"I'll take that as a will do," Rin says as Kazushi rolls his car towards her. "So, have the police said anything about the fire?"
"No not yet," Inuyasha states with a sigh as he sits in the chair in the corner. "Sota and Naraku are going to handle it."
"Meaning?"
"Whoever did this will be caught. I can't wait until they find the bast- "
"Hey!"
"What?" Inuyasha asks with a raised brow.
"You were about to cuss in front of your son," Rin states as she points to Kazushi.
"Keh," Inuyasha responds with a cross of the arms and a glare.
"I bet Kagome wouldn't let you talk like that in front of him."
Inuyasha's stare soften at the mention of her name. "She wouldn't. Uhh! I'm just glad that she's safe. Her and the twins."
"Congratulations about the twins by the way," Rin says with a smile.
"Thanks," Inuyasha responds with a grin. "Congrats to you and Sesshy."
"Yeah," Rin mumbles with a blush. "I'm lucky to have him in my life. When do you think they're going to release Kagome?"
"The doctors said in tomorrow. She has a lot of scars and burns, but she's okay."
"Do they hurt."
"No, they gave her a lot of ointment and medicine," Inuyasha says. "How's Ayame?"
"Good. She's a demon, so she's healing quickly. Kazushi healing quickly too," Rin states as she quickly pinches his non-healing cheek. Kazushi giggles as he stares at her.
"Candy!"
"You want another sucker? You said you were going to save one for mommy," Rin tells him as she takes a lollipop out of the bag, unwraps it, and passes it to him. Kazushi points at the one left in the bag before putting his lollipop in his mouth.
"Do I see any kids in your future?" Inuyasha teases with a grin.
"Yeah in the next ten years!"
"You're going to be so old when you have kids!"
"And your point," Rin says as she rolls the car to her nephew. "I'll just spoil my nieces and nephews!"
"You're a special one Rinnie," Inuyasha says, referring to Rin's nickname. "Just perfect for my snarky brother."
"Why thank you, brother," Rin teases as she starts to play with her nephew. Inuyasha chuckles as he gets down on the floor and join the two.

That Evening
"Mmmm."
Sango places the magazine in her lap and looks towards her friend's wife. She had come back to the hospital after "resting" at home. She told Inuyasha that she would watch over Kagome for the night while the family had dinner.
Kagome had woken up and eaten before going back to sleep because she didn't feel good. However, she reassured everyone, mostly Inuyasha and her father, that she was able to leave tomorrow.
"Inuyasha," Kagome mumbles as she tries to open her eyes.
"Hey, Kagome," Sango says as she sits up in her seat. "How are you feeling?"
"Tired," Kagome mumbles as she blinks her eyes. "Where's Inuyasha and Kazushi?"
"At home."
Kagome hums as she lets what she said register. "How long was I out?"
"For like two hours. It's almost seven o' clock," Sango states as she watches Kagome sit up.
Kagome nods before pulling a hand on her head then stomach. "I'm so hungry."
Sango's eyes follow that movements before she shakes her head and stands up. "I'll get you something to eat."
Kagome looks at her and smiles. "Thanks. You're a lifesaver."

With Kikyo
"I was really hoping that we saw each other tonight. I wanted to check up on you and see how you were doing," Kikyo states as she walks down the stairs.
"Maybe we can meet up later," Bankotsu states while typing a message on his computer.
"Hopefully. I don't believe that dinner will be long," Kikyo tells him.
"Good. Well just call me when you're on your way. I'm going to go out later to pick up my medicine."
"Okay. Sounds good. Bye."
"Bye."
Kikyo smiles as she ends the call before putting her phone in her purse. After stepping off the last step, Kikyo makes her way into the living room to see Sesshomaru watching the news.
"Hey."
"Kikyo," he says with a nod.
"Is everyone ready?" Kikyo asks as she takes a seat across from him.
"Almost," he tells her as he continues to watch the television. "I think we're the only one's ready."
"Is Inuy- "
"When will you stop being concern about my brother's whereabouts?" Sesshomaru asks as he turns to face her. "Move on with your life," he blankly tells her.
"I am."
"Are you? You're constantly worried where Inuyasha is and what he is doing."
"Everyone tends to forget that Inuyasha and I have a history. That he proposed to me."
"Oh, none of us have forgotten, you certainly haven't," he states. "However, you gave that all up when you denied his proposal. Do you know how Inuyasha felt? The only person, at the time, to finally understand him, to make him feel important, just rejects him because what? She was scared. Because she didn't want to take a chance. He was so humiliated, angry, and hurt."
Kikyo pauses in her response as she stares at Sesshomaru. "I ha- "
"Because you only think about yourself," Sesshomaru concluded for her. He sighs as he stands and brushes some imaginary dust off his pants. "Let him go. He's moved. He has a wife, kids, and a career. He doesn't need someone to keep him in the past. He needs someone to push him forward."
Kikyo stares at Sesshomaru as he walks out the room. She sighs as she leans back in her seat. "Great talk." She huffs as she pulls her bangs out of her face. "I am over, Inuyasha. Aren't I?"

Five Minutes Later
With Kagome and Sango
"Soup, really? I want something tastier than that," Kagome says as Sango hands her crackers and a spoon.
"Sorry, but that's what the doctor recommended. She said you'll be very nauseous throughout the night."
"Where's Kazushi and Inuyasha, again? Sorry, I forgot what you said," Kagome asks as she opens the package for the spoon. She immediately attacks the cup of soup in front of her.
"Preparing for tonight. Izayoi's having a big dinner for everyone."
"So why are you here?" Kagome asks before putting chunks of broccoli and cheese soup in her mouth.
"I-," Sango starts to say but pauses as she thinks over what Kagome said. "I guess I wanted us to bond or something."
"Or something," Kagome mumbles as she gives her a look but continues to eat.
Sango clears her throat as she takes a seat in the chair next to Kagome's bed. "So tell me about yourself."
"You're serious?" Kagome asks with a raised brow.
"Definitely," Sango states with a grin.
'This girl is weird,' Kagome thinks as she gives Sango a look but opens her mouth to do as told.

Half an Hour Later
"Mama!"
"Hi pumpkin!" Kagome says with a grin as Kazushi runs towards her and her bed. Sango helps the excited boy into the hospital bed, before taking a step back. She looks towards the door to see Inuyasha walk into the room.
"Aww! My little baby," Kagome coos as she runs her hand over his cheek. He had a small bruise, but other than that, he looked fine. "Were you scared yesterday?"
Kazushi nods as he cuddles into her chest. "Scared for mama."
"You were worried about me?" She asks. Her son nods as she runs her hands down his back.
"I told him that you were okay, but he wanted to see you," Inuyasha tells her.
"I'm okay, Zushi," Kagome mumbles. She kisses the back of his head before looking at her husband.
"You look good. The doctor said that all your test results came back fine and they babies are fine too."
"That's good. Very good," Kagome tells him with a nod. "You hear that Zushi. I'm fine and your baby sisters or brothers are fine too."
"Baby?" He asks as he places a hand on her stomach.
"Yup. He or she is fine, you're going to be a good big brother."
Sango smiles as she watches the mother and son bond.
"How long has she been sleep?" Inuyasha asks her, causing her to snap out of her daydream.
"Huh?"
"When did Kagome wake up?"
"A few minutes ago. I gave her some soup. But she persuaded me to order a pizza."
"Sango's the best, by the way," Kagome tells him. "Needed some real food."
"We're going to have fun," Sango admits with a smile.
"I hope," Inuyasha tells her with a smile. He pulls back his wrist back to look at his watch. "Shoot, were running late. Kazushi, we have to leave."
"No!"
"Kazushi, go to daddy. You're going to dinner with grandma Izzy and grandpa Toga," Kagome says as she soothes down his hair.
"Your parents are coming too. That's who I'm supposed to pick up before we go."
"Oh really? That's a shocker," Kagome tells him in surprise. She shakes her head and looks down at her son. "Your other grandparents are going to be there too. It's going to be fun."
"Mommy okay?" He asks as he looks up at her with puppy eyes.
"Yes, mama's going to be okay," Kagome confirms with a nod.
"In fact, buddy, after dinner, we're going to spend the night with mommy."
"Really?! Yay!"
Kagome giggles but gives him another kiss on the head. "Now, be good for daddy."
"I will. Kazushi be a good boy."
"I'm going to hold you to that honey."
"We'll be back," Inuyasha says as he picks his son up. He gives Kagome a kiss causing Sango to turn her back a little.
"Mmmm," Kagome hums as they pull away. "What was that for?"
"I'm glad you're okay."
Kagome grasps his cheeks and gives him another kiss. "I am. So, don't worry anymore, okay?"
He sighs and nods as he smiles at her. "Okay. I love you."
"Love you too, my big puppy," Kagome tells him with a smile. Her husband gives her a kiss on the head, before standing up to his full height. He nods towards the blushing Sango before walking out the room.
Sango clears her throat before looking at Sango. "Kazushi's so adorable."
"I know, he has me wrapped around his finger," Kagome tells her with a grin.
Ding Dong!
Sango takes her phone out and answers it. "Okay. Be down in a few."
She ends the call before facing Kagome. "The pizza's here."
Kagome nods as she situates the covers over her lap. Sango walks out the room but pauses as Kagome calls out her name.
"Yes?"
"Thanks for staying here with me, tonight, Sango."
"No problem, anything for a friend."

With the Takahashi
Everyone is chatting amongst each other as they start to eat the appetizers in front of them.
"Ayame, how are you feeling?" Izayoi asks she passes the basket of bread to her husband.
"I'm doing good. The doctors instructed me to drink a lot of water," Ayame states from her spot next to Koga.
"I'm glad you're okay. Inuyasha said Kagome and Kazushi are doing well too."
"That's good," Kikyo says before taking a sip of wine.
"I hope they catch whoever set the church on fire," Rin states.
"People have no respect now and days," Kikyo states as she sets the wine glass down.
"Let's not focus on the negative," Izayoi instructs with a soft smile. "We have some good news."
"What is it Izzy?" Rin asks.
"Inu No Taisho and I are planning on having our wedding next month in the backyard with just a few friends and family."
"That sounds nice and simple," Rin states after a moment of silence.
"Fantastic. We were hoping that you kids can show up, if there isn't a problem in your schedules," Izayoi tells them before letting out a sigh. "I hope we're not a burden on anyone," she continues, causing everyone to shake their heads and disagreement.
"It's fine, Izzy. We need a vacation," Ayame states, giving her a smile.
"Plus, this gives us some time to spend with our family and be around friends," Rin tells her before dipping her spoon into her soup.
"Sorry we're late," Korari says as she walks into the room with Kazushi in her arms. Inuyasha, Makoto, Naraku, and Sota follow behind her.
"Oh no. You're fine," Izayoi states as Korari gives her a hug. "How's my sweetheart doing?"
"Granma!" Kazushi shouts as he wraps his arms around her neck. Korari makes sure Izayoi has him securely in her arms, before taking a seat at the table.
"What did we miss?" Inuyasha asks as he takes a seat next to Naraku.
"Izayoi and Toga are having their wedding next month," Rin states.
"Where are you two going to have it?" Inuyasha asks as his mother hands Kazushi some food. A waitress walks in and starts handing out menus to the new guests and asking what they would like to drink.
"In the backyard. We decided to keep it small and simple, "Inu No Taisho states. Inuyasha nods before telling the waitress what he wanted to drink while picking up his menu.
"How's Kagome, Inuyasha?" Izayoi asks.
"She's doing good. Sango's with her right now. All her test came back fine, so we're planning on having her back home in a couple of days or so."
"And the babies?"
"They're good."
"Babies, meaning more than one?" Miroku asks with wide eyes.
"Yup," Inuyasha confessed with a proud grin.
"Congrats man."
Inuyasha gives his signature smile before looking at the menu.
"Where's Sango?" Ayame asks as she takes a sip of her drink.
"With Kagome."
"Really? That's surprising," Ayame mumbles as she sets her drink down. Inuyasha gives her a look before turning to look at his menu.
"Yeah. Sango and Kagome have been doing some bonding today."
"That's good though," Miroku injects causing Inuyasha to nod as the server comes over to take their order.
Izayoi giggles as Kazushi eats all the appetizers on her plate. She grins as she runs a hand down his back. She could just imagine Inuyasha when he was little. While she was making sugar cookies and waiting for her previous batch to cool down, Inuyasha would "quietly" take cookies and shove them in his mouth. One time, he ate the entire batch of cookies behind her back.
However, all in all, she missed those moments, she missed her little baby boy. She grins as she looks at the little boy down in her lap. Now she had another little boy to spoil.
"You're just like your father, you know that?" Izayoi teasingly says she pinches Kazushi's cheek.
"Yup!"
The family laugh at Kazushi's comment before they continued to dine and have fun.

A Month Later
It's been a month since Kagome and Sango bonded at the hospital and everyone had dinner together. During that month, Koga, Sesshomaru, and Miroku had left to go back home to get caught up on some work but would be back for Izayoi and Inu No Taisho's wedding. Ayame spent a lot of time with her parents and helping them manage their store. Kagome, Sango, and Rin assisted Izayoi with the preparation for her wedding while Kikyo spent time with Bankotsu and getting to know him more. While Inuyasha and Inu No Taisho caught up on lost time, Kazushi would spend time with the Higurashis.
Sota and Naraku are still investigating the church fire. So far, they were hot on the trail of who could have done it. However, they needed more evidence. From time to time, Naraku would spend a few extra minutes with Jakotsu, however, they still weren't on the level they were before Naraku imprisoned Jakotsu.
Besides the church fire, nothing horrible has occurred. Everyone is healthy and is living a semi-normal life.

With Kagome
Kagome ties her hair into a ponytail, before looking at her reflection. She sighs as she runs her hands over the burnt mark on her right cheek and forehead before running her fingers along the faint scare on her left side of her temple, it runs down to her cheek. Although no one mentions or talk about her scares and burns, she still felt uncomfortable with them. She was kinda glad they didn't see the rest of the burns that cover her body.
"I should embrace these burn marks," Kagome states as she stares at herself. "But I can't."
"Kagome! Come on! Time for bed. I'm tired. Playing with your son took a lot of energy out of me," Inuyasha complains as he leans against the door.
"Coming," Kagome says as she opens the door. She moves passed her husband and walks towards their bedroom. He raises a brow but follows her.
He walks into the room to see her sitting on her side of the bed, her back in towards him and the door. Inuyasha closes the door, before making his way to his wife.
"What's the matter?"
Not wanting to argue with him, Kagome tells him what's on her mind. "I don't feel beautiful," she admits to her husband. "I don't even look it either." She cast her eyes downward in defeat. "These burns, I hate them."
"Kagome," Inuyasha says as he grabs her hands and gets on his knees in front of her. "Look at me."
Kagome sighs as she stares at her husband.
"You are the most beautiful woman I've ever meet. Burns or no burns, scares or no scares. I'm still going to love you, no matter what."
"Are you sure?" Kagome asks, giving him a skeptically look.
"I mean it," Inuyasha states as he places a hand on her burnt cheek.
"Really? Even if I said your brother was hot, and we've been having an affair for months and these kids are his?"
Kagome screeches as her husband softly tackles her to the bed. She giggles as she stares up at him. She wraps her arms around his neck as he places his hands on her hips.
"You're a messy wench."
"Would you though?" Kagome as with a giggle.
"I'll find a way to because you're my wife and I can't live without you."
"I love you too Yashie," Kagome coos as she grabs his face and leads it towards her lips.
He maneuvers until he's spooning her in his old bed. He kisses her covered shoulder as she snuggles into his chest. "I almost lost you, Kagome. These marks show me that you're here with me and that you and the kids are safe."
'I didn't realize the impact this had on Yash,' Kagome thinks as she rolls over and cups his face. "I'm not going anywhere, Yash."
"You better not," he states as he gives her nose a kiss. "Now let's get some sleep. I'm really tired and we have a big day tomorrow."
Kagome nods and gives him a peck on the lips before rolling over. "Night."
"Night."

The Next Day
"I look horrible," Kagome mumbles as she runs her hands down her dark purple dress; her bloated stomach is noticeably sticking out.
"I'm sure you look beautiful, Kagome," Inuyasha says from the other side of the door. Kagome shakes her head before turning her head. She raises a brow as she spots a familiar object in the trash bin. She carefully bends over and grabs the clean side of the object.
"Kagome."
"Yeah," Kagome absently says as she examines the pregnancy test. She flips the test over and her eyes widen. "Pregnant."
"Kagome! Did you hear anything I just said?! Are you okay in there?"
"I'm fine. I'll be out in a minute," Kagome responds before throwing the pregnancy test back into the garbage. She washes her hands and covers the test with the used napkins. She leans against the counter with wide eyes. 'Who could it be?' she thinks. She thinks about all the girls, before she narrows down who it could be. She gasps before shaking her head and smiling as she leans off the counter and walks towards the door. 'I can't believe she's pregnant. Guess the kids will have a playmate.'
"Beautiful," Inuyasha mumbles as he grasps her hands and pulls her into his chest.
Kagome giggles as he places his head in her neck. "Stop, Inuyasha! We have to be in the backyard in a few minutes."
"You complain when I show you affection, and you complain when I don't. Which is it, woman?"
"You know how to ruin a moment, huh?" Kagome states as she pushes him away from her with an annoyed look on her face.
"Do you want me to punish you, because I don't like that tone you're taking with me," Inuyasha growls as he grabs her waist and brings her back to his body.
"I'm so scared," Kagome moans with a grin. Inuyasha smiles as he walks her back into the bathroom.
"And where are you two going?" Sesshomaru asks as he walks down the hallway with Kazushi in his arms.
"Mommy!"
"Hi sweetie," Kagome says as she walks around Inuyasha to see her son. Sesshomaru sets his nephew down, causing him to run to his mother.
"And don't you look handsome," Kagome says as she pinches Kazushi cheeks. He's dressed in a tan suit with a purple tie and a white button-down shirt.
"What's up Sessh?"
"The weddings about to start," Sesshomaru states.
"I think it's cute that you guys are going to walk Izayoi down the aisle," Kagome says as she picks up Kazushi and carefully sets him on her hip.
"Keh."
Kagome smiles before turning to look at her son. "Now you have an important job. You get to carry grandma and grandpa's rings." Kazushi happily nods in agreement. "You have to be perfectly still, you hear? You can't drop them. If you go through the whole service without dropping them, I'll make sure you get a big piece of cake afterwards."
"Big?" Kazushi innocently asks as he looks at his mother.
"The biggest," Kagome confirms. She smooths out his bangs and gives him a kiss on the head. Since the church fire, he had recovered a lot. He got another perfect bill of health from the doctor just last week.
"Okay mommy. I do that."
"Promise?"
"Promise," Kazushi says with a smile as he wraps his pinkie around his mother's. Kagome grins and gives him another kiss on the head before handing him to his father.
"I'll see you guys later," Kagome says as she gives Inuyasha a kiss on the cheek before walking down the hall.
"You ready?" Sesshomaru asks as they walk in the opposite direction.
"Yup. Let's go get dad hitched!" Inuyasha jokes, causing Sesshomaru to chuckle.

Ten Minutes Later
"Kazushi looks so handsome," Korari squeals as Kazushi gallops down the aisle. The congregation laughs at Kazushi's antics while Kagome smiles at him. Inu No Taisho ruffles his grandson's hair before he takes his place next to Totosai, his best man.
"Mommy, I no drop it," Kazushi loudly whispers to Kagome, who's standing in the front row.
"I see that. Good job," Kagome whispers back with a smile and nod. Kazushi grins as he starts to jump up and down.
"Izayoi looks so beautiful," Sango whispers from behind Kagome. Kagome turns to look at the aisle to see Izayoi walking down the aisle with each of her sons on her side. She's dressed in a floor length silk v neck cream dress with off the shoulder sleeves. Her hair is pinned in a bun with a veil tied around her bun. Sesshomaru and Inuyasha are dressed in the same style as Kazushi.
"She does," Kagome states as she flashes Inuyasha a smile as walks passed her. Once the boys dropped Izayoi in front of their father; they take their seats next to their significant other.
"We have gathered here today-"
"Your mom looks beautiful," Kagome whispers as Inuyasha takes a seat next to her.
"She does."
Kagome wraps her arm around Inuyasha's and leans her head on his shoulder as the ceremony starts.
"You want to know something," Inuyasha mumbles as his dad starts his vows.
"Hmm?"
"I wanted us to be like them. They love each other, they're always supporting each other."
"I know what you mean. After being with them for a couple of weeks, I can see how much they love each other. I saw it the first day."
"Yeah."
"I love you, Yash."
"Love you too," Inuyasha says as he bends down and kisses her forehead.
"Yash," Kagome says.
"What wench?"
"Let's stay here."
"What do you mean?" Inuyasha asks as he looks down at her.
"Let's stay in Japan."
"For how long?" Inuyasha questions.
Kagome shrugs as she watches her in-laws recite their vows.
"Until after the twins are born at least. We can test it out and see if we like it here. Kazushi can bond with his grandparents, you can practice some law here, and I can make some connections. It's a win-win."
"Are you sure?"
"Hmm," Kagome tells him with a nod. "If that's what you want though. I just think this is a perfect place for the kids to be around family."
"No, you're right. This is a perfect place. I'll make some calls tomorrow and see what I can do," Inuyasha tells her as he kisses her head while she entwines their fingers.
"Thanks Yash," Kagome mumbles as she snuggles into his side.
"Anything for you, Kagome," he mumbles back as he gives her another kiss on the head. Kagome smiles as she continues to watch the wedding ceremony.
'Life is good.'

Two Hours Later
With Sango
Sango throws her empty cup into the sink, before leaning against it. She places a hand on her head and sighs. She and been feeling sick all morning and afternoon. She had broken away from the reception in the backyard to take an aspirin to calm her stomach and the slight headache.
"Hey."
Sango looks up to see Kagome walking into the kitchen. She smiles at her before her eyes travel down to stare at her semi bloated stomach.
'When did she grow? Last night? Will my ba-'
She shakes her head before greeting the pregnant woman. "Hey Kagome? What are you doing away from the party?"
"Cleaning out Kazushi's cup," Kagome states as she shakes the empty Spiderman sippy cup.
Sango nods and moves out of the way as Kagome walks towards the sink. As she does that, Sango grabs a plate from one of the cabinet and walks towards the marble island in the middle of the room. As she does this, Kagome stares at her from the corner of her eye. 'I wonder if I should say something.'
Sango cuts herself a piece of vanilla cake and puts the piece on the white plate. Kagome turns off the water and turns towards her husband's friend.
"So."
"Hmm?" Sango asks as she turns her head to glance at her.
"Congratulations are in order."
"For what?" Sango asks with a raised brow.
"You're really going to make me spell it out for you, huh?" Kagome asks with a teasing grin.
"Please do," Sango challenges.
"You're pregnant," Kagome states as she leans against the corner.
"What?" Sango shockingly says as she looks the other way.
"You heard me."
Sango's hands tighten around the knife before throwing the knife down and glaring at Kagome. "How do you know that? Do you have someone spying on us? On me?"
"No. You just didn't hide the pregnancy test very well."
"How did you know it wasn't Ayame or one of the other girls."
"Just a lucky guess. You've been trying to bond with me for what, the last couple of weeks? You've also been playing with Kazushi more, trying to get some practice in, huh?"
Sango silently curses as her gazes soften.
"And you place your hand on your stomach every ten minutes. I did the same with Kazushi. I had to tell myself he was really there, you know?"
"Yeah," Sango says as she places a hand on her stomach before shaking her head. "Have you told Inuyasha?"
"No. I didn't think you wanted anyone to know," Kagome says as she stands in front of Sango. "Are you going to keep the baby? I know you were highly against having a baby right now."
"I was not," Sango objects as she turns around.
Kagome raises a brow as she looks at the women in front of her. "Right. How far along are?"
"I'm not sure. I think two months or so."
Kagome nods as she leans off the corner and place a hand on her stomach. "Well, like I said earlier, congratulation. A baby is a big step in a rela-"
"I don't wanna be a mom," Sango interrupts her.
"Do you not want to be a mom, or do you not know how to be a mom?" Kagome asks her.
Sango pauses in her tracks as she looks at Kagome. "I-I"
"When I found out that I was pregnant with Kazushi, I was scared. I knew Inuyasha was going to support me, but I was afraid that I would ruin Kazushi's life."
"But you didn't. You're a good mother Kagome."
"Only because of practice and mistakes," Kagome states. She sighs as she runs her hands through her hair before taking a seat at the island. "When Kazushi was born, I was a mess. I didn't change his diaper as often as it needed to be. I feed him at irregular times, I felt like a horrible mother. But you know what the best feeling is? It's having your baby look up at you with trust and pure eyes. I knew that I needed to improve for him. You're going to mess up San, but you get to learn from your mistakes."
Sango stares at her new friend for a second, before her eyes shift downwards. "I just don't know."
"Think it over, talk to Miroku about," Kagome says as Inuyasha walks into the room with a sleeping Kazushi over his shoulder.
"What you two talking about?"
"Kazushi," Kagome says as she stands up. "How's my little man?"
"Tired. Hey, your mom wants to talk with you, her and your dad are going to leave in a few."
"Okay," Kagome says as she gets off her seat. She turns around and looks at Sango with a serious look on her face. "Remember what I said."
"I will, thanks."
Inuyasha raises a brow as he follows Kagome out the kitchen. "What did you tell her to remember?"
"It's none of your business, dear. Why are you so noisy?"
"Keh."
Kagome giggles as she leans into his side. "I'll tell you when you're older."
Inuyasha rolls his eyes as they turn a corner. "Geesh thanks mom."
