To say Momo Yaoyorozu was on edge would be an understatement. She loves her friends, she really does, but she can't help but feel like the odd woman out. She wouldn't really call herself close with Midoriya or Kirishima, and the less she says about Bakugo the better. She enjoys her time with both Uraraka and Mina but they both have their own circles they tend to hang with, Uraraka with Deku and Iida(Who she found more as a partner than a close friend) and Mina with either Toru and Aoyama not to mention when she wasn't with them she found time to hang with Bakugo and his group of friends. Indeed she found herself in a sort of a pickle, and at a time like this, she wishes Jiro was here to ease her troubles. The one person she can't pinpoint is one, Shoto Todoroki, her stoic, dual haired, seatmate that she finds rather interesting. Her relationship with Todoroki is one she can't really explain to herself, she would like to think they are friends but in reality, they haven't really had many conversations with Todoroki besides their very few exchanges on missions. She would like to change that but now she feels with this living situation things might be easier said than done.
"I need some tea." Momo said to really no one besides herself. Tea was her way of dealing with her issues internally, it was smoothing and it eased her thoughts tremendously. Momo looks in her mirror and pats her hair down making sure she looks presentable before walking out. Once she walks outside of her room and down the stairs, she is greeted by the sight of one Shoto Todoroki, which immediately makes her want to turn around and head back into her room. Todoroki has changed out of his school uniform to something a little bit more casual for him. A plain white tee shirt with the words ICE written on it in red lettering, and some blue jogging pants.
"Hello Yaoyorozu." Todoroki states in his regular dry tone when he notices her presence
"Hello Todoroki, what brings you here."
"To the kitchen?" He responds back which brings a light tint of pink to her face
"Y-yeah that wasn't a very smart question, of course you're allowed in the kitchen, you must be hungry after the day we had." She responds biting the inner side of her mouth to stop herself from internally yelling in embarrassment. 'Great job there Momo, hard to build connections when you can't even think straight.' she yelled in her inner mind.
"I wouldn't say hungry, more so thirsty. I was planning on making some tea."
"Ah so was I, you wouldn't mind if I joined you?" Momo responds back to which Todoroki just shrugs. Momo makes her way past the dual haired boy and opens up the cabinets to see all sorts of tea much to her enjoyment. "Any kind in particular?" Momo asks and Todoroki just shrugs
"Whatever you were gonna have is fine." He responds back and Momo nods before grabbing two boxes of chamomile tea from their positions and getting to work. Todoroki takes a seat at the table as Momo gets to work, there's silence but a peaceful one. However, that nagging feeling of not wanting to feel like she doesn't have any close friends while living here comes out and decides to make some conversation while they wait.
"So, how do you feel about all of this?" A simple enough question she says to herself.
"It's not too bad I suppose. I've lived with...Worse people." He says back a bit of anger at the end of the sentence, which quickly brings in awkward silence.
Momo mentally facepalmed how could she forget how much Todoroki hated his upbringing. Living with these many people again probably brings up so many painful memories that she feels awful for making him think of.
"But can't say I'm not looking forward to it." Todoroki says breaking the awkward silence. "Midoriya and Uraraka are nice people and always make me feel welcome. While Iida can be Iida I can't say I won't enjoy his company."
"And the rest?"
"They are fine as well." He says before adding a small smirk "Besides I get to piss off Bakugou by just existing." He says and Momo can help but form a small smile to Herself. His relationship with Bakugou as well as his relationship with Midoriya are both interesting ones. And she seems to think they both bring out the best in Todoroki.
"Why do you provoke Bakugou in the manner that you do?" She states as she pours the now finished tea into two cups. "Seems very unlike you." Momo remarks carefully bringing the tea to Todoroki and sitting next to him.
"It's like an unspoken game between me and him. If he attacks me I win, and you know how he is." He says laughing to himself as he takes a small sip of tea
"Doesn't that seem like a bad idea?"
"Bakugou hates losing, he'd rather me insult him all day then attack me and admit I win. So it's a win/win for me." He says and Momo can't help but let a light giggle escape from her mouth "What's funny?"
"I didn't know you could be so much of a guy Todoroki." Momo says she brings a lit shade of pink to her comrade for the first time since the two have engaged in conversation. "It's different." She finishes with a small smile
"I've been working on it." He says taking another sip of his tea "May I ask why chamomile? It's far from the first thing I would imagine you grabbing."
"It's my mom's favorite, me and her would share a cup of it when it was late on a rainy day. It eases my mind and reminds me of home."
"Hm, likewise but for my sister. She would make me a cup on late nights when I couldn't sleep. I hate to admit it but it brings me comfort as well." Todoroki says and the two share a brief moment of where they share small smiles to one another. They then go back to enjoying their drinks in silence. Just enjoying each other's company.
"Now this is a sorry sight." The pink hair girl known as Mina Ashido says getting the attention of the other seven residents within her home.
Unlike her fellow classmates, Mina was not at all saddened at the events that have fallen before them today. If anything she saw this as an opportunity to make some new friends. While true she was close with nearly everyone in her current class, Midoriya's group of friends is a group that she can't seem to form a close relationship which she sees as a challenge. As well as getting to tease Uraraka and Momo is an added bonus
"What do you mean Ashido?" Kirishima states looking up from the game he was playing(and winning) against Bakugou
"What are you complaining about now raccoon eyes! GOD DAMMIT SHITTY HAIR STOP RUNNING!" Bakugou screams to a smirking Kirishima as his character on screams rolls across the stage.
"I'm saying this is a perfect opportunity to get to know one another and here we are not taken advantage of it!" Mina shouts before pouting and putting her hands on her hips in a balled-up position. As she looks around is greeted to see the two members of her group on the group playing the game, meanwhile, in the kitchen she sees Todoroki and Momo enjoying tea, which she couldn't help but tease Momo about much to her embarrassment, and on the couch, she sees Deku and Uraraka sighing as Iida goes on about something.
"Well, what do you expect us to do about that Mina?"Uraraka chimes in
"We can play a game!" The hyperactive girl shouts as the rest of her classmates exchanged looks "Think of it as an ice breaker of sorts, it'll help us feel more connected."
"Oh, that's a great idea Ashido, whatcha thinking?"
"How about 21 truths?" The girl states with a slight mischievous smirk not going unnoticed by the green hair hero lover Izuku.
"I-I don't know, I-I not very sure on how I feel about sharing some of my personal secrets out in the open." He says which gets mostly everyone in the house to agree but Bakugou who tells everyone to shut up
"I GOT IT!" Mina shouts before taking her right hand before drawing an 8 over the left side of her chest right over her heart. "CRAZY EIGHTS!" she shouts which gains a confused look from everyone. "There now my mouth is sealed."
"Yo Mina, what was that about."Kirishima says with a grin pausing the game now that Mina has his full attention. Meanwhile, Bakugou flips him off behind his back
"It was something I was thinking about earlier when I was unpacking. Anything that happens in the Guild should stay in the Guild, if you draw an eight over your heart and say crazy eights everyone in the house must do the same and they are sworn to secrecy."
"Ah, sort of like a blood pack." Todoroki chimes in and Mina nods
"I suppose so, I was thinking like a complicated pinky promise but whatever floats your boat." She states and Todoroki shrugs
"Why not." He states before drawing an imaginary eight over his heart "Crazy eights." He says with no enthusiasm in his voice at all but the gesture is enough to please her.
"Crazy eights!" Khirshima shouts drawing multiple eights on his chest and one by one the rest of the members follow suit, even Bakugou reluctantly does it after being promised by Khrisima that the game will continue after they do Mina's thing.
"AWESOME! So I'll start us off, ONE!" Mina shouts before tackling Kirishima
"TWO, THREE, FOUR!"Kirishima shouts trying to remove the pink-haired girl
"Five, six, MOVE IT SHITTY HAIR!"
"Seven, and language Bakugou."Iida says before catching a glare from Bakugou
"Eight, nine, ten."
"Eleven, twelve, thirteen." Momo and Todoroki state bouncing off one another
"Fourteen."
"Fifteen, sixteen, seventeen." Izuku says before letting go a sigh of relief knowing it's impossible for it to be him
"Eighteen,Nineteen!"
"Twenty!Sorry, Bakubro!" Kirishima says before laughing
"Whatever, give me your best question, you damn extras." Bakugou says and the remaining seven seem to take some time to ponder on the question.
"What's your deal with Deku? You two seem to have this one-sided hate thing going on."Uraraka ask much to Deku dismay
"He's a fucking nerd who doesn't know his place. I'm gonna be the number one hero, that nerd needs to remember that!" He shouts and Uraraka pouts angrily
"So you're jealous because he's a better hero than you?" Uraraka says back, what she doesn't notice is Deku behind her writing his will to his family on what to do with his belongings after Kacchan murders him.
"What was that round-face?"
"I think you heard me Bakugou,but if you must know, I said Deku is a better He-"
"ONE!" She is cut off by Deku who is desperately trying to stop a murder from happening
"B-but I wasn't finished with what I was Say-"
"TWO THREE FOUR!" Mina shouts one again cutting off Uraraka who just fills her cheeks with air and crosses her arms in annoyance. Bakugou just stares at the girl before turning his attention to Deku and rolling his eyes
"Five." He says
And they continue the counting until the unlucky 21 lands on Midoriya himself.
"W-what are the c-chances of that right guys?" He says with an awkward laugh. "Give me your best question."
"Deku why do you let Bak-"
"Is All Might your dad?" Uraraka and everyone's attention is brought to the kitchen where they see Todoroki who just shrugs "What?"
"Todoroki how many times do I have to tell you this, me and All Might share no relation to one another."He says and Todoroki slams his fist against the table
"I'll get you to confess to that one Midoriya." He says which leads to a little laugh from the girl to his right.
"Such a guy." She says to him and Todoroki rolls his eyes at this statement.
"You're an idiot icy-hot."Bakugou says with a look of pure confusion on his face "One."
And just like before the game continues this time the unlucky victim is none other than one Ashido Mina
"Hm, now this is interesting, what do you ask someone like Mina?"
"Yeah Mina is pretty much an open book, what's a question that's gonna make her flustered." Uraraka states which leads to Mina sticking her tongue out at her
"Simply put you cant."
"Have you ever kissed someone?" Momo asks and all eyes turn towards the black-haired girl who just shrugs. Mina however grows a light shade of lilac and her horns suddenly become a lot more interesting to her.
"U-Um t-that's a pretty personal question don't you think." She states before smiling. "Not bad Yaomomo you got me, but to answer your question I have never shared a kissed with anyone."
"Really?" Everyone in the house says at the same time
"YES REALLY! AND AS IF ANY OF YOU ARE BETTER!" She screams and now everyone is embarrassed. Let's just say everyone decides to gain some distance from one another.
"S-so um one." Iida says
SO the game continues for a couple of hours and the gang learns a lot about one another. It turns out Iida has a weird fear of BlueJello, apparently, it was from a movie he watched as a kid and simply won't eat it or be anywhere near it. They learn that Kirishima's real hair color is black, which Mina says she already knew but wouldn't tell them why he decided to dye his hair. Believe it or not, Uraraka is very much a sore loser, she accidentally broke a chair with her bare hands after losing her class relay race back in elementary school. Momo secretly goes to cosplay conventions and regularly cosplays as old comic heroes before the age of quirks. When Todoroki can't sleep and tea isn't helping he calls his sister and she sings him a lullaby, this got a bunch of 'awwws' from the female members of the household.
"Twentyone." Izuku says before sighing 'great' he says internally
"Alright Deku, what's a good question for you." Uraraka states before Bakugou smirks
"Yo nerd, why don't you tell everyone what you said about Round face in that notebook of yours."Bakugou says and Deku instantly flushes
"Wait you mean that journal he is always mumbling into?"
"Yeah, stupid nerd been writing in them damn notebooks since he was a kid, he writes a bunch of special notes. Wonder what he has on us, especially round face." Bakugou says with a smile as he watches Deku brain malfunction as he tries to think of a way to get away from this
"Oh, that's neat. I wanna see! Show us Deku!" Uraraka shouts and puts a hand on his shoulder which causes him to go into overdrive.
"PLEAD THE FIFTH!" He shouts which gets the attention of everyone
"Plead the fifth?" Momo questions "Isn't that a western thing?"
"Yes! I plead the fifth!"
"Hm, I wonder what's in that notebook that you're so worried about showing us Midoriya." Mina says with a very apparent smirk "Grab him!" Mina says jumping at Deku and Kirishima joins in after her. The two grab Deku and the three have a wrestling match on the couch, Deku failing to overpower the two ends up on the floor with his tied behind his back by Kirishima.
"Come on Deku Bro, it's not very manly to back out."
"Alright, I think that enough." The group looks towards the kitchen at the voice of Momo "I think we've all had a busy day, and it's getting rather late, how about we call it day." She says flashing a quick smile at Midoriya
"Sure, after Midoriya tells us what he wrote in that notebook." Mina chimes in
"No Mina, we are done here. Unless you would like to do the dishes for the night." Momo says and Ashido sighs before signaling Kirishima to get off of the green-haired boy.
"Fine, you win Yaomomo, Let's call it a game."
"Thank you Mina." She says with a small smirk before Ashido waves her off before heading up the stairs
"That's lame ponytail, Yo shitty hair back to the game." Bakugou says and the two boys proceed to go to their video game
"T-thank you got kinda hectic over there." Deku says as him, Uraraka, and Iida join Momo and Todoroki at the table.
"No problem Midoriya, I can tell you were very uncomfortable and Mina has the tendency to go overboard."
"Hm,I am curious Midoriya, if your notebook is nothing but notes on hide its contents" Todoroki followed by a vicious nod by Uraraka
"Yeah, Deku it's unlike you to be so secretive."
"It's nothing bad, it's just embarrassing don't you think?I-I have all these notes and drawings of everyone it's weird you know?"
"Nonsense! There's nothing wrong with a hobby." Iida says to his buddy
"Nah it's pretty weird." Todoroki chimes in
"Don't listen to him, you're analyzing our quirks for the future in case you are ever partnered with one of 's quite smart really." Momo says before snapping her fingers "Midoriya, do you have any stuff on me?"
"Yes of course."
"Then that means you can give me tips on how to improve my quirk. We must go over these one day, when are you free!?"The excited girl says and at the word of quirks Deku's mind goes into overdrive and soon the two are talking and exchanging ideas. Much to the annoyance of the brown-haired girl seated beside Izuku.
"I thought we were going to bed?"Uraraka says with a crooked smile "Isn't that what you said Momo?"
"Ah yes, it is indeed getting late. We should head to sleep. So are we on for lunch this Saturday Midoriya?"
"Yep, I'll bring my notes and we can get to work!" He says and the two shake hands "I'm looking forward to it Yaoyorozu."
"Likewise." She states as the two continue their conversation out of the room and up the stairs to their respective dorm rooms. Meanwhile, Uraraka just blows the hair out of her face angrily
"This is a little out of my element, but jealousy isn't a nice color on you Uraraka." Iida says with a small smirk before walking to his room, Todoroki pats his friend on the back but can't hold back his smile as the round face girl is left alone in the kitchen.
"Longest. Day. Ever."
